"tanger med"
it was not possible to know that our ferry came into the commercial shipping port and we were actually 30 miles from tangier. we had to pay a large taxi fee to get where we were going.
"Espagne maroc"
Bon prix mais attention cette compagnie n arrive pas au port de Tanger centre ville il faut faire un 50mn de voiture et débourser 400dirham le trajet à considérer dans le choix
"Algeciras to Tangier Med"
Travelling in June the ferry was quiet but the staff were still attentive to your needs. Value for money was good, although not the quickest crossing available for half an hour ???. Checking in was made a simple task by the staff as border crossings can sometimes be nervy. All in all a pleasant experience
"No help for handicapped "
We crossed from Algeciras to Tanger-Med and back early in June 2019. The crossings were late but otherwise ok. The ferry on the return journey was much worse. My complaint is that shortly before the crossings I injured my right knee and had considerable difficulty and pain walking. There were absolutely no facilities available to help me and no one responded to my requests for help. It was an unnecessarily painful experience. A week earlier I had flown with a cheap airline to Poland and wheelchairs were arranged with no problem. The ferry service should warn passengers that it is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
"Late departure. "
Algeciras- Tangier: Booking confirmation email says:” last check -in is 120 minutes prior to departure” but only opens 1 hour prior to departure. So no need to arrive 2 hours! In advance. Tangier-Algeciras: 1 hr. 15 minutes departure delayed. Facilities and catering was a good service though.
"Didn’t go exactly to plan...."
Ok, so just had an email to write a review of my experience, so here goes. Going out to Tangier Med was an experience, I’m not even sure the ferry company and the port have ever spoken to each other, so the organisation seemed a little unusual. Coming back was slightly more interesting, as they cancelled the ferry when we got there because it was Ramadan. We were told to return to the office in 3 hours to see if they’d be going, which we did and there was no news. In the end, after spending 5 hours at the port we bought a ticket with a different company and made the crossing, arriving 6 hours after our ticket.... and as for a refund, seems everyone suddenly stopped being able to speak English. My advice, tread with extreme care, only spend what you’re prepared to lose and have a plan b.
"Not great"
The ferry was an hour and a half late leaving! Then when we arrived we were unable to get off the ship because a group of us apparently didn’t have a passport stamp we needed. Apparently during the trip we needed to find a police officer and get this stamp but we had no way of knowing that. We were told we would have to wait fifteen minutes for him to give us a stamp but we waited nearly two hours for just one stamp. Overall a trip that should have taken 1.5 hours took 5 hours!!! Would not recommend if you have a train/flight to catch or places to be!
"Resent trip "
Well would not recommend this ferry company there time keeping was so bad we left over 5 late and the return was over a hour late to the ferry needs to scrap is was in a poor state would not use them again
"Didnt get to tangiers!"
So basically there was no facility to stamp our passport on the ship so we were not allowed into morocco!! Luckily the captain and a couple of very kind staff allowed us to stay aboard for a policeman who never came and then allowed us to sail back. A very stressfull 7 hours to get no where!!
"We want our money back! "
We are absolutely disgusted with the "service" and "product" of direct ferries. Firstly. They write on your booking that you need to be there 120 min in advance. This was a waste of our time, as they didn't even open up for check in until less than 60 min before departure when we travelled from Spain to Morocco. On arriving in the habour of Tangier med, to take our 13 o clock ferry back to Spain, we discover that the departure has been cancelled and we have to wait until the next departure at 17! We never received any notification that the ferry had been cancelled whatsoever. When we asked the staff at Transmediterenea they just shrugged and said it was direct ferries who had the blame. They also told us this ferry departure had not been running for 10 days. Which means direct ferries must have had plenty of time to notify us. We needed to be back in Spain for a certain time, so waiting until 17 was not an option. So we had to book new tickets with another company which cost us 70€ We want our money back and we will not be booking through direct ferries again!
"Worst experience of my life "
After booking our return trip from Algeciras to Tanger med weeks in advance I was highly disappointed with the service I received. Our ferry with Transmeditiarria was due to depart from Tanger med at 7pm on the 15th of October, so as it said on the booking we arrived promptly at 5:30pm in order to board this ferry. However, on arrival we were soon notified that our ferry had in fact been cancelled. We were given no formal notification of this. This then resulted in a 5 hour wait in the port followed by an extra hour waiting on the ferry for it too depart. This was 6 hours of waiting in total. We found this extremely unprofessional on Transmeditiarria’s behalf as we were given no compensation for this enormous inconvenience nor were we notified about the cancellation in advance. It is for these reasons that I would not travel with Transmeditiarria ever again or recommend thier services to anyone who asked for my opinion. This is due to Transmeditiarria’s lack of organisational skills and ability to coordinate and communicate with staff effectively to achieve an accurate time schedule for thier clients.
"A Successful voyage with no surprises"
I purchased my ticket online almost 5 months prior while in Mexico. I was able to do this with confidence because the website and platform made it very easy to review my options thoroughly; select and purchase my ticket securely; and received my receipt and documentation in a timely manner. Embarking, Spains immigration process; Morocco's immigration process, and disembarking were all managed very professionally and efficiently.
"was sold ticket for a ferry which did not exist"
5am ferry supposed to move from Aljesiras to tangier Med. I reached at 3.30am only to be told that the ferry did not exist. not cancelled - just did not exist! all meetings in Casablanca thrown in turmoil. Next ferry supposed to reach at 8.30 finally landed in Tangier Med at 9.30am!!

"Melilla - Almeria (December 2013) "
Everything was fine except the ham rolls. Please endeavor you more in the preparation or selection of the used foods! Really unacceptable for the high price!
"Big and spacious seating and very comfortable"
I've had experience in various ferries in which there wasn’t quite enough space between the seats but on the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ferry they were really spacious which resulted in a really comfortable journey. Definitely recommend this ship.
