"Our first crossing to Melilla "
Boarding was quick and efficient (we were foot passengers). The snack+bebida offer was disappointing- a drink and packet of nuts - and the keycard we were given for the lounge didn’t work until we summoned help
"Traveling with Direct Ferries"
The Trip takes too long and I would not prefer this opportunity for the future. It is better if you have a room on the ship but the price is equal to the airplane that is faster way for traveling. Otherwise, the ferry is very clean, comfortable, with all the equipment for nice travel.
"We have travelled many times on this ferry!"
As a family of 5 we love to travel. We have used this ferry several times and on our last trip (18th August) we were disappointed to encounter an unpleasant experience in the coffee shop. When we first arrived the manager of the coffee shop started yelling at us and several other costumers about not eating within this area on the ferry. I was shocked as our family were not eating at all. We were moving some clothes from one bag to another. We told him that we were not eating. Later on on our trip we returned to the coffee area to purchase coffee. My partner again had issues with the same man - who pursumed that we could not speak Spanish and started calling us both names in Spanish! My partner can speak several languages so we were taken back. The whole incident was very disturbing and we could not believe it. My partner had asked for a cup and saucer for his coffee and this turned into a big drama. His coffee was thrown on the table at him and he yelled the price. The guy then proceeded to give me dirty looks - calling us"shits" in Spanish. I'm a teacher from Northern Ireland who blogs regularly I was very unhappy and disturbed by this experience. Looking forward to your reply , Deborah White.
"frustrated"
When asking to up grade to a cabin for two on our return to Malaga..We were told to wait until 12.30 when we could see if there were any cabins free and told if there was a cabin it would cost 110.00 euros each excuse me but for a 5 and a half hour journey that is extremely expensive more than our three day stay in our hotel in Malaga.to top it all on speaking with another passenger he updated for 20 euros !!!! Who's ripping who off the company or your staff
"Easy to use. Comfortable ride"
Bring your own food
"Fantastic ride"
Quite a bang for your buck!! Would def do it again, simple and easy! Woke up at 2am thought we were still docked because I never felt the boat leave port!

"Always a good time"
Always a pleasure to travel with Direct Ferries :)
"Good ship"
nice and clean ship. Departed on time and the aircon was on. In short, a successful boat trip !!!!
"Good service"
Good service!
"Great way to travel to Morocco"
Clean, comfortable and well run. This was a great boat trip of a good length. Taking to afternoon boat was a really good time of day we arrived at Melilla with the setting sun. I recommend this as a convinient and interesting way to travel for anyone coming from Malaga area who wants to go east or south in Morocco. As a warning though, don't expect all Transmediterranea routes to be this good. I've just returned from Tanger Med port to Algerciras in a rusty old hulk, the service, logistics and punctuality was farcially bad.
"Trip with transmediterarranea - Fortuny from Malaga to Melilla"
It was an excellent and unforgettable trip.
"Goosepimple"
A very smooth and comfortable crossing. The only downside was the loading crew who caused more confusion than coordination, too much drama and noise and not enough direction.
"Crossing"
Would be nice to be able to hire towels at sun deck,to place on sun beds.
"Clean rooming"
We stayed overnight in a dobbelbeded room with a clean bathroom. Only vibration of the engine affected a Deep sleep.
"great"
great company and great service. I booked my ticket online with Directferries and all went good. Recommended
"Good trip"
My family flew on holiday to Palma, but as I dislike flying so I took the train from the UK to Barcelona and the overnight ferry to Palma, and the day trip on return. I had my own cabin on the way there, a reserved seat on the way back. In general the trip lived up to expectations. The cabin was excellent, a nice shower, basin and toilet, and comfy bed. On the way back I got to the ferry early, so could pick a seat with a plug point to work on my laptop, be aware there are only a couple of these at the back of the room. Boarding and disembarking for foot passengers were simple at the Barcelona end, but difficult at the Palma end as the ferry docks in a different terminal and then a transfer is required on a bus (both for arrival and departure). This was not obvious to a non-native Spanish speaker and caused some confusion both times. The public toilets on the return journey were not particularly well cleaned but everything else was reasonably clean and tidy. These were all small gripes, and overall I would be happy to take the ferry again.
"Travelling at night"
My experience was totally different at the outbound and the return. The departure to Palma was less comfortable, the ferry left almost with one hour delay. Nobody was controlling on board that the passengers that had booked a seat got one. I realized that some people had to spend the night at the bar. The return was better and the boarding more faster. Also a different and a better ferry. THE WORST IS THE SHORTAGE OF TOILETS. ONLY THREE TOILETS FOR WOMEN. CAN YOU IMAGINE AT 8AM, HOW CROWDED WAS THEM?
"Regular assessment"
The seating room is very uncomfortable and not very clean. There is no organization at the time to assign the seats, they should be enumerated.
"Crossing with Trasmediterranea"
It was a good and beautiful experience. The sights are espectacular, you are not able to have these views from any other transport means, beside the possibility of travelling with your car.
"Trip from Mahon to Barcelina early August"
I cannot praise the staff and crew of Neptuny high enough. It was an excellent day crossing, blue skies and very flat sea. We relaxed on th sun deck and ate in the excellent Italian restaurant where the quality of the food and attention of the staff was very high. Transmedittaeranean even organised for a pod of dolphins to put on a fantastic aquatic gymnastic display for us mid Med... The ship although old was in good condition, we left and arrived on time. I highly recommend this company.
"Barcelona - Palma - Barcelona"
I travelled between Barcelona and Palma in July 2014 with Transmediterranea. I booked my ticket online at home before arriving in Spain. The process was easy after printing of the confirmation all i was required to do was arrived and have the tickets printed before boarding. I found the ride most enjoyable, with a television to watch the soccer, plenty of room to sleep, as both times i travelled overnight as well as free wifi whilst onboard. Service provided was incredibly helpful with friendly staff. Food and beverages available was great for my time of travel as well as reasonable in price. The option to go outside and watch us sailing by was beautiful during the early mornings and late nights. I would definitely recommend travelling with Transmediterranea as the trip was most enjoyable, and if the opportunity arrises i would definitely use their services again.
"a return crossing between Barcelona and Palma"
Like every year, we are going to Mallorca where our children live. We travel with Acciona and are very satisfied with the company.
"Barcelona-Mahon"
We had a comfortable and quiet trip. Looked up our cabin after having parked our car. Enjoyed the nightly views of Barcelona from open sea. Wandered around the ferry and slept til the alarm went off, so all in all a pleasant experience. Clean ferry, the small amount extra for a cabin is highly recommended.
"Crossing from Barcelona to Palma"
I am satisfied with my crossings, the cabin is very clean and confortable, the staff on board is pleasant and professional. I will do it again.
"Very good, I would recommend it!"
Very good. I would recommend! An excellent service.
"Really recommend this website "
I can only say that our trip was perfect. No incidents and therefore 100% recommended.
"pleasant "
Everything was pleasant and was fine. Only to close the luggage was not given the opportunity - although there was a separate room for luggage, which was shut off, but it was left unlocked during the crossing.
"Enjoyable trip"
Recently sailed from Palma toBarcelona and the ferry was a delight. Clean, comfortable well organised with excellent reasonably priced catering. Would have no hesitation in using the service again. The internet booking was painless. We presented our reference number, it was as easy as that.
"In a cabin next time"
The crossing with seats is horrible. It's impossible to sleep and safety is really minimal. Some people went through bags during the night.
"A return crossing from Barcelona and Ibiza"
Aging ferries and the boarding process makes you feel like cattle.
"Disatisfaction"
A very dirty boat
"Service, conditions and maintenance are getting worse and worse."
Despite buying tickets as soon as the bookings were open, it was impossible to get a return on the 3rd of August. On the 4th, we couldn't get a 2 berth cabin, so we had to settle for a cabin without porthole (hello claustrophobia). How do other clients manage? I should precise that the boat wasn't full. Four people at the information desk. No greatings, closed faces. Noone on board speaks French, so it was impossible to make any complain. A feeling of being treated like paying cattle. No written or spoken safety announcement in French The sandwiches were either unedible or out of stock. People takes 3 seats to sleep in the lounge. There is no shower curtain in the shower. Plus, it's in a bad state - the towel handle has been snatched.
"A trip on 06/08/13"
A good journey overall. Just a delay of half an hour at departure. We still arrived on time.
"BARCELONA / IBIZA outbound"
It's the second time I have taken the boat to go to Ibiza. The staff is pleasant and available if you have any queries. No problem to park the car. It's safe, as the levels in which the cars are parked are closed during the crossing. If you do a night crossing with a seat, some boats have night club or organise parties on the deck. However, if you wish to sleep, opt for the sitting room. But my advise if you want to sleep is to book a cabin. It's 20 or 30 euros more, but it's nicer to start your journey in Ibiza. Don't forget to pack a jacket and wear troussers (it's windy outside and the AC is strong inside) Be at the port 2 hours before departure from Barcelona and 1 hour from Ibiza. The bar and catering service is very nice.
"To recommend or not?"
Outbound trip: a spotless cabin, no window, a low quality canteen like restaurant, well maintained feryy. Inbound trip: older ferry, clean cabin with a window, but an uncleaned shower. Restaurant: we decided to eat before.
"Barcelona Palma crossing"
A very good journey, except for Barcelona ferry terminal. The parking lot should be open so you can park properly
"Good, but"
A confortable ferry, a pleasant staff, good timekeeping. BUT it took us more than one hour to find the departure point in Barcelona. There were no indication on the ticket and no signposting at the port.
"From experience"
A pleasant crossing if you take a cain for the night. The AC is way too powerful.
"Efficient and punctual"
A problem free crossing. More information before departure about the boarding process would be appreciated (where and when can we get the boarding passes?).
"Just ok "
The boat was on time, there was a pool and a jacuzzi, which is good. However, there was not enough space to sleep. It was colder inside than outside. At the self, you could only have pasta + meat. You had to add 2 or 3 euros for a steak.
"Barcelona Ibiza Barcelona Trip"
Acciona is professional company I have been travelling with for 23 years
"Barcelona Palma with the ferry"
The journey was good, but expensive. 530€ for only 8 hours aboard the ferry. Comparatively, a ferry trip from Ancona to Greece is a lot less expensive…. It's a pity…
"A super crossing"
It was neat. Amazing views. The cabins were almost confortable. The meals were affordable and edible.
"A difficult journey"
I have been going from Barcelona to Ibiza for 20 years with "Trasmediterranea". The quality of the boats deteriorate each year. Paying 650€ for a berth one way and a seat the other is scandalous. It's not confortable at all. The boats are built to transport goods. The day areas are restricted with only one bar and about 40 unconfortable seats. Plus, it's dilapidated. Not a good price for money.
"Berths"
We couldn't get a berth, as there aren't many. The bar seats are not reserved as promised and we couldn't get a seat. You have to lay on the floor or to spend a sleepless night. It's way too expensive for what you get. I won't use this company or this kind of boats again.
"Clean the toilets"
The ferry is correct and I don't have anything special to say about it, except that the toilets could be cleaned and maintained more often (broken door)
"Excellents trips"
The boat was punctual this year: the cars were let out at the scheduled time! It was the first time in 20 years. Last year, there was a 3 hours delay for the inbound journey… Some installations were closed (high tech lounge). Generous and tasty meal (inbound journey). The cabin could have been cleaner.
"Stolen money "
We slept in the seated area and someone very professionally took money out of my wallet and replaced it. Obviously something done on a frequent basis. The seats are extremely uncomfortable and had to sleep on the floor like an animal. I would highly recommend buying a cabin.
"Delays"
Both crossings were very late due to the loading of trucks and of trailers without tractors. It was very cold during the inbound journey in the lounges, because of the AC which was even on during the night. The price was correct.
"Adventure Ibiza Ferry "
Devastatingly bad journey there - during the night there was no staff to find. in the dormitory there was a temperature of 12 degrees and everything was covered in vomit, because no one has shown the people the bags for sickness -As disgusting as it can get. The return trip was ok, the food is acceptabel
"Satisfied customer"
Very satisfied with my reservation and the crossing. Everything went well with simplicity.
"Old ferry"
The ferry is old scruffy but the staff were all right. The cabin is dirty, and the sheets were torn. The price was not worth it.
"Very enjoyable crossing"
The crossing was very good.
"Crossing Palma - Barcelona"
Old ship cabin and not kept well. Quite unlike Balearia on the way out. Unfortunately, they currently provide no overnight ferry with cabin on this route. Trasmed is also more expensive. Not necessarily recommended.
"Crossing Barca - Mahon"
We were satisfied with the trasmediterranea ship, apart from the quality of food which was mediocre and also found cabins to be expensive.
"Great way to travel to Palma"
We traveled from Barcelona to Palma on 24 February overnight on Fortuny. We expected fairly basic accommodation and possibly a disturbed night. Our cabin was execellent - like a good class hotel room with all the facilities to make our night comfortable. We both slept well and felt confident in the hands of the crew.It was exciting to be able to look through the porthole to the sea ahead and to arrive at Palma as the day began. On the return journey the weather was bad and there was a storm as we came into Barcelona. Again our experience was comfortable although the ship was rolling. When we arrived we were unable to dock at the terminal because of high winds but the crew ensured we were safe by arranging bus transport for the foot passengers and illuminated traffic direction for the cars. One problem was that there was not sufficient information about what was going on and why we were delayed at the time. Also there was no information about where we would embark at the terminal in Palma. It all worked out well but we were anxious while waiting for transport. So some announcement and information would have been very helpful. All in all however it was a very enjoyable experience.
"Swimming pool great for the kids,"
For families travelling with kids, the swimming-pool is a real plus. Children travel happily which makes the journey good for adults too! Vey satisfied
"great for families"
Having travelled on many different ferries, Fortuny is without doubt my favourite so far. Children are entertained at all times and the fact that they could use the swimming pool during the day and watch a film in the cinema at night was like being on holiday already! There is a real variety of food too. Great facilities with a great service. We’re really pleased with this one!
