Splendid is one of GNV’s longest serving ships, delivering thousands of happy passengers to their destinations. The vessel has a capacity of 2200 people with room for 1010 vehicles in each of the journeys. Travellers can benefit from a range of accommodation options onboard with 456 cabins, 27 suites and two specially adapted disabled cabins available. There is plenty to ensure you have a pleasant and enjoyable trip with a wide range of eateries, a designated children’s area, a shopping centre, public Wi-Fi and even a conference centre and meeting rooms for those who need to work while on the waves.
There are plenty of accommodation options on the Splendid with 456 cabins, 27 suites and two specially adapted disabled rooms. All cabins come with air conditioning, en suite bathrooms, including a shower and hairdryer and the comfy beds will help you put your feet up, relax and maybe get some much needed sleep. If you choose to stay in one of the spacious suites you will be able to take advantage of complimentary air conditioning, a television, radio and mini bar, as well as a large porthole for you to admire the sea views.
You won’t be short of food and drinks options onboard the Toscana. The a la carte restaurant provides a range of local specialities and international flavours across all three courses and has an extensive selection of good wine. The self service area and snack bar give a more informal eating setting and if you fancy some traditional Italian style ice cream, you can visit the gelateria for a cold and tasty treat.
A shopping centre can be found on the Majestic where you can enjoy duty free shopping whilst on the move. You have the chance to purchase gifts and enjoy bargains on items such as perfumes, aftershaves, alcohol and other selected items. There are also newspapers, magazines, books, toys and puzzles to help you pass the time on your travels.
If you and your colleagues need to have meetings on the move then you’re covered. This is thanks to the conference centre and meeting rooms onboard. The public Wi-Fi allows you to surf the web as well as the waves whilst with GNV. You’ll also find a chapel and library on the ferry.
If you are travelling with your little ones, a designated children’s area is available onboard to keep all young voyagers happy.
This GNV ship has been specifically modified to help passengers with restricted mobility and access needs.

"Great trip, spoiled by check-in"
The trip, itself, was fine. But the check-in was so bad, I now understand why the ship was half-empty. GNV really need to update their check-in processes. You need to check-in 4 hours before, and most processes involve standing in the sun, and most processes involve paper!! Ridiculous! They really need to catch up with the rest of the transport world. Most check-in processes should be online, to begin with. Things should be explained on your ticket. We were simply told to check the Tunisian Government's website for Covid instructions and, according to that, i was fine (as an Australian). Despite having an International Vaccination Certificate, GNV made me walk, with my luggage, in the hot sun, 30 minutes to the only chemist around that does rapid Covid testing. And I even had my own COVID test kits on me that I could have done. That part was the worst but everything was a bit like that - slow and out-of date. I'd like to see more people travelling by ship, and less by plane. But the check-in processes must improve to encourage more people to travel by boat.
"Dirty boat, some racist staff"
The boat was dirt, the people in the restaurant were not friendly. I do not recommend this boat if it was not for the price. Staff is nor friendly with families having a baby...
"Tunis Palermo "
The ship was great, cabin very good all clean and well done. But. Check in was 1600. Did not in fact open till 1730. We went through passport at 1930. Then a huge wait. Finally on board at 0300!! It was awful. The ship made up Time and arrived only slightly late but what was supposed to be an easy evening and long nights sleep Was spent in a hot embarkation area with no facilities. If you can’t process us in time don’t ask us to come to the port so early. We did not use the catering as no time. Glad I had not bought the catering package
"il tempo"
Inesattezza nell'orario di partenza e di arrivo.... Partenza ritardata tra Tunisi e Civitavecchia 3 ore Stessa cosa al Partenza da Civitavecchia
"Good for the money, great views"
A really cool way to travel and sightsee at the same time! Definitely worth it! Felt safe the whole time, comfy beds. Polite and informative staff. Yummy food for purchase, more facilities than I expected. Cabins were dated and kinda gross, but with only an hour between cruises I can imagine it would be difficult to clean more than just changing the sheets.
"Ferry cancelled "
The ferry was cancelled at the last moment. Making us have to drive all the way to Spain with no accommodation booked and two dogs. Not happy
"Un pleasant journey from Barcelona to Genoa"
The journey wasn’t up to my expectation. The service was not very satisfactory. I had to wait for 90 minutes in a long queue to be served for lunch at the buffet. The staff at the adjacent ristorante were not welcoming. No children facilities were available. The amenities and cafes are not available. Children running in corridors and making noises most of the time of the journey. All in all the journey wasn’t pleasant and not worth the money paid for it
"Horrible "
The ship late, and no one informed me about anything that was important. No one spoke English, most of the staff was not very friendly or helpful at all. The ship was dirty and smelly.
"Mayhem "
I didn’t actually make the boat as I was mislead by your website , I put Genoa as my starting point and Tunis as my destination and on the next page when you select the date and time it automatically changes to Civitavecchia, but I wanted to leave from Genoa !!!! I ended up buying another ticket from GNV , I should really get a full refund !!
"Horrible misleading "
website is misleading , I entered Genoa - tunis , and ended up booking Civitavecchia- tunis : the difference is 800 km drive which I would not of made , I ended up booking another ticket via GNV which cost me another €360 / I should and would expect a refund from direct ferries as I have been in convenienced
"palermo-civitvechia "
We had a deluxe cabin which was worth the money it cost. Only down side is the wait to board. As there is no cover it does get a bit stress full waiting in the sun. But I must say that everyone was given a bottle of water, which was rather thoughtful.
"Palermo to Tunis on GNV"
The booking process was the easiest part of this trip. It goes down hill rapidly after that and I do not know where to begin. Upon arrival at the GNV office in Palermo on a Saturday before Christmas there were 4 people working at the check in desk. We were told to be there at 7:30 a.m. for an 11 a.m. departure to collect our tickets. WHY cannot we print boarding passes? We finally boarded at 10:40 a.m The ferry departed at 1:30 (apparently this common between 2 and 5 hours late). We then walked over 1 km to the immigration gate. BTW if it is raining there is no cover whilst queuing for the tickets or the arrival at the ship. There is no such thing as a line at the check in terminal or queue for the ship so shoving and pushing and cutting the line is allowed. The actual cabin was clean however. On the day crossing there were announcements every hour so if you are thinking of getting some sleep during the crossing forget it! Upon arrival in Tunis we walked a km to the arrival terminal. Again no apparent line and then you had porters heavily laden with luggage trying to get through the line to the x ray machines. The passport control at Tunis had no internet service so after arriving at 11:45 p.m. we stood in line being shoved and pushed for the next 2 hours until we were able to get through passport control. The return trip fared no better but at least the Tunis ferry terminal is an actual building with toilets and a coffee shop! We arrived at the Tunis ferry terminal at 7 p.m. for an 11:00 p.m. departure. At this point the ferry was delayed by a mere 1.5 hours. At 10 p.m. we were allowed into the departure lounge. The departure lounge had a very limited amount of seating. The pushing and shoving that ensued once they opened the gate towards the boat (another 1 km walk) and now we were boarded at 1:30 a.m. The ship departed at 3:00 a.m. so a mere 4 hours late. At 9:00 a.m. the announcements started at 9:00 a.m. over the loud speakers. The cabin was clean. We had to leave our cabin at 11:30 a.m. as the ship was docking at 12:30 we got off the boat at 1:30 and walked the 1/2 km to the Italian immigration point. They had 1 x ray machine to process all the passengers and their suitcases! We were fortunate to be 3rd in line so got through relatively quickly. We walked back through the ferry terminal another 1 km walk. There was a small bus that did ferry the passengers to the entrance of the ferry terminal but it was a very small bus. This is the most poorly organized means of transport that I have EVER experienced and I have been traveling for over 50 years.
"Make you're mind up time"
We travelled on Sunday 28 October 2018 from Palermo ostensibly to Civitavecchia. However, due to very bad weather in Italy Civitavecchia port was closed. Weather conditions are what they are. HOWEVER, we stood on the dockside at Palermo while the Italians dithered and dithered. No-one know what was going on. There was no official communication to foot passengers nor to drivers of vehicles. It was a mess. At one time the ship was going to Naples, then it wasn't. Then it was going to Civitavecchia, but not until the following morning and if we wanted to go earlier and get to Naples we had to change our tickets and take another line. Then a decision was made. The ship, Splendid, would go to Naples and then on to Civitavecchia when the weather improved. Then what happened? NOthing. We waited on the quayside for another hour as they couldn't decided when we should embark. On board they couldn't tell us when we would arrive in Naples, but the could tell us that the ship would arrive at Civitavecchia at 4 am on Tuesday morning. What a nightmare! Nice cabin, but freezing cold.

"Nice ferry but huge delays"
I like GNV and have previously sailed with them within Italy. I knew there would be additional security checks on the route from Tunis to Palermo because of Tunisia being outside the EU and because of people smuggling problems. However, I was not prepared for the length of the process. the ship arrived in Tunis 1.5 hours late and left 3 hours later than advertised, and meanwhile we were stuck in a small holding area for several hours with no information, after completing emigration/security. The boat itself was nice and the night trip enjoyable. Most of the cafes and bars were closed but there was a nice 24-hour bar/buffet. the cabins were very good, spacious with good bathrooms. On arrival in Italy, we then spent two hours in the queue for immigration/customs, which was very slow and inefficient (and queueing in the hot sun). We were lucky as we were foot passengers and got off first - for the car passengers, there would have been far longer waiting times. Of course the immigration and customs checks at each end are not GNV's responsibility, though the late running and slow boarding process are. But people should be warned about the length of time involved, and given more information while in the ferry terminal.
"Another trip from Hell"
Finding GNV check in at Civitavecchia (Port of Rome) is difficult as the signage is almost non existant. Instructions to be at check in no later than 2 hours before departure was a joke. Nothing opened until 2 hours before departure when there was an unruly rush to the various windows. At check in we were told to go to pier 28-this was wrong and a very rude man with a holstered pistol told us to turn round and park at pier 27. In due course we were loaded, but from Garage B the stairs are difficult to reach the lift on Deck 3. On Deck 7 we checked in and given the key to our cabin. We quickly noticed the corridoor carpet was filthy dirty and clearly had not been vacuumed for a very long tme. Our cabin was sparten to say the least-no TV and more like I imagine a prison cell. The ship is clearly very old and either needs scraping or major refubishment. The shops and main bar was closed and remained closed throughout the journey. The only good feature was the restaurant (not the cafeteria) which hardly anyone used. We used it for lunch and dinner and at dinner were the only couple present. As we approached the port we were told to vacate our cabins and go to deck 7. As I am partly handicapped I asked if I could remain in the cabin until we arrived. I was told yes I could, but a crew member banged on our door and rudely told us we had to "get out". We arrived at Palermo Termini Imersese over half an hour late and by the time we actually got off it was almost an hour after docking. This was an unpleasant journey. We have another one with GNV on 6th July which we are viewing with trepidation!! These ferries used to be good but now I think they are pretty bad.
"From Palermo to Civitavecchia"
Be aware that arrival at the docks is not easy. Firstly the sign postings for embarkation are nearly non existing. Departure for Civitavecchia is not on the list of departure destinations. We, as many others turned into the wrong gate. When we eventually arrived at the right gate entrance was refused until we had a valid ticket to show. WE had to return to the first gate, which was via nearly a kilometer of driving, back, find parking , walk nearly 600 metres to the ticket office return to the car, back to the second gate to be ushered in. After that the rest was easy. Nice boat, nice cabin lovely crossing. Arrival at Civitavecchia and disembarking was easy. It would be helpful if Direct Ferries warned passengers about embarking at Palermo. And why cannot a ticked be issued in advance, print out via computer. So much easier.
"May 2018"
Overall the ferry service is very good the cabins were clean and tide One thing I would do next time -would NOT be to pre pay for the on board food as it is very basic look And you be better buy food ashore and take your own for on board Plus allow for some delays in departure times both of our ferry's departed almost 2 hours late- but arrived on time
"Complete chaos - GNV Civitavecchia - Palermo Return Termini Immerese - Civitavecchia."
We are frequent users of other ferries and especially Brittany Ferries. This GNV is grossly expensive, poorly organised and poor quality everything. Food - very little available at a 19.00 sailing from Rome, and the small cafe is right next to large smokers hall. We pre booked meals on return journey and what poor quality so much so that all we had to eat was a cold potato salad, tomatoes and two pears with a cold drink. 20euros each! Breakfast was 10 euros for one tiny roll, croissant and weak coffee. Boarding - complete chaos and downright dangerous boarding and embarking. No lines to park in so every person for themselves. People skipping the queue, lorries pushing in and no direction of when or where to go. I am very surprised our car was not hit. Cleanliness - cabin was dirty - cleaners don't believe in vacuuming corners where all the dust collects. Cabins - no efficient means of air control. It was a Greek ferry on return - signage poor and this where the food was atrocious. None of the shops were open for the whole of the 16 hour journey. Both ferries were late leaving and late arriving and yet they expect you to be at the ferry port to collect your ticket at least two hours before. Why on earth can't they email your ticket like Brittany Ferries do. Appalling value for money - I suggest one of your representatives travels with Brittany Ferries to see what quality looks like and then visits GNV ferries.
"Very Nice Ship"
I was very impressed with the accommodations on the ship. The room we booked was very nice and clean with a bathroom with shower and towels. We did not eat aboard the ship. I was disappointed that the gift store was closed and also at least one of the bars. Maybe this was because we were travelling mid October.
"Great"
Quiet positively syrprised. The cabin was clean and cozy. Very comfortable bedding. Food affordable in cafeteria. Overall. Very Positive experience
"Getting on takes so much time"
We waited so much time before getting on ferry. I mean so much delay time.
"Good sailing"
Had a good smooth overnight sailing on this boat from Palermo. While the ticketing office was hard to find at the port (no signage), the ship was clean and conformtable and the double cabin was spacious with good facilities.
"Late and dirty"
Woaww, it was a kind of adventure here! First the boat left with one hour and a half late, so we arrived late as well. Second point, the ship is cleaned once only at the beginning of the trip, then it becomes more and more dirty... At the end of the trip, we have been asked to go in another room because they need to clean the boat. No problem with that, except they asked us it 2 hours before we left! Then all passengers were in a room with no seats and no space. This is absolutely not normal and disrespectful for passengers...
"Good ferry trip back to Rome"
The ferry cabin and facilities fine. The prepaid breakfast and lunch were big dissapointment. The count of pane water salad etc was childess. The pasta and something meat were cold and tasted bad. My recommendation is that do not pay in advance any food. You can then order what you like e.g fruits. The ferry left three and half hour late but was only one hour late in Civitavechia. tasted terrible and
"Short cut to Sicily"
Our voyage on Splendid was a very pleasant experience and we would recommend this as an effective way of avoiding the long motorway journey South from Rome. Boarding was easy, just keep your eye on the signage as it is a busy quayside. On board the cabin was reasonably spacious. We used the restaurant in the evening, food was good. Our crossing (early May) was very quiet. Breakfast at self-service limited but met our needs. We would use this route again.
"Restaurant"
The restaurant on board is worth a visit, service is fine, the food excellent, big choice of good wines and not expensive at all.
"Excellent journey"
I relaxed because I had to go to Romania
"perfect journey"
Good cabin, excellent kindness of the crew, good restaurant. In conclusion excellent crossing.
"Pireau"
Excellent journey....
"ENJOYABLE JOURNEY"
KIND AND EFFICIENT STAFF. AMAZING CLEANING. ANIMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT GUARANTEED. A NICE, FUNNY AND RELAXING JOURNEY. TO TRY!!
"journey holiday"
I travelled with GN Splendid for my outbound and return journey from Civitavecchia to Palermo, it was a nice trip for real we enjoyed. All the services are good as you expect, clean cabin and everything was woeking properly, excellent restaurant service, kind and professional staff. I hope to do this journey again.
"Recommend it"
We travelled on reserved seats, long journey but we were comfortable and without not too many problems. But I will keep open at least 1 of the cafè shops during the night, instead they all closed at night and open again in the morning at 6.30.
"GNV's ships ok, Direct Ferries's booking service ko!"
Nothing to say about the transport service but it was disappointed.. About Direct Ferries instead gives you no service from the call centre. I booked a ticket for 3 persons + car Civitavecchia-Palermo with return (14/08-23/08). After we booked we realized that the return was on the 28/08. After so many times trying to contact the Customer Care by phone(payment call) by email, they let me change the date but they made me pay again. At the end, fortunately, I've got the refund. Next time for sure no more Direct Ferries. And to be honest I do not recommend it.
"Good but not really good"
Perfect journey... But the first to arrive is also the last one to landing, we waited an hour, instead the latecomers who don't care to take your advice to be in time can land before us.
"Amazing trip"
A good holiday start.
"Civitavecchia Palermo"
Nice trip. Missing the possibility of regulate the air conditioner, too cold.
"Recharge electronic devices"
Because of the long crossing it will be helpful to add some plugs close to the seats.
"Recharge electronic devices"
Because of the long crossing it will be helpful to add some plugs close to the seats.
"PERFECT!!"
Everything went perfectly from punctuality to polite crew. REALLY RECOMMENDED!!
"Civitavecchia/Palermo trip"
Compliments, amazing trip we had the sensation like we were on a mini-cruise trip. Hopefully we'll do it again.
"Trip rate"
With the Splendid we already travelled few years ago on the Savona-Barcellona route. Nice ship, clean, efficient in all services. Really nice trip. Thanks
"Journey Pa Civitavecchia"
I travelled on te 5/0/2015 with my family. Times respected. GNV's ship ol. All good. Excellent price with Direct Ferries
"Complited satisfied"
Journey was quiet and on time. Staff kind and helpful
"Nice crossing"
Journey Palermo-Civitavecchia nice and quiet, but my cabin was occupied at the beginnig and I hat to wait to have another one. You should prevent this kind of things, cabins should be locked, in order to do not let anyone to enter in some's cabin. Excellent cleaning, helpful staff and punctuality.
"Experience with Grandi Navi Veloci"
At both Barcelona and Genoa we were not given any instructions how to find the correct terminal. No signage to the correct terminals, it was a totally nightmare and chaos. On the Excellence we did not hear any announcements in English. No announcements were made or any information given regarding where do go in the case of an accident at sea!! The cabins on both ships were very dirty. The Splendid was so bad we couldn't use the shower it was filthy, no plug in sink and the hair dryer didn't work!!! The whole cabin smelt of dust, hadn't been vacuumed for a long time. There were holes in all the sheets and the blankets hadn't been washed for a long time. We used the al la carte restaurant. On birth ships the restaurant was freezing cold, as was most of the ship. The food was not good and far too expensive. My husband ordered a shrimp risotto, it was a bowl of moulded rice turned upside down with one prawn on it!!! Tasteless!! €13 or €14.
"Bad cleaning in the cabins"
"JOURNEY BARCELONA-GÉNOVA-BARCELONA"
Both on the outbound and return the cleaning left a lot to be desired, especially in the services of the 9th floor where are the seat lounges. For the outbound leg, as the ferry came from Tangier, you can not talk about lack of cleanliness instead of obvious soiling. Besides noone of the crew member decided to go to see if everything was in good condition. We had to try to sleep with the TV blaring, the lights on and the air conditioning turning on at maximum, I guess to try to hide somehow the bad odors. In case of the return journey (where the staff was much more friendly), in Genoa all we had seats and with final destination to Barcelona placed us in a lounge without television and we could turn off the lights to rest. However, even if we requested at reception, they did not turn down the air conditioning. It is highly recommended in these conditions bring warm clothes for sleeping. In the self-service, the quality of the food is the characteristic of a school canteen service, but not their prices. In the cafeteria the prices go up and even if you order the cheapest and it is price list, is never available. In the case of the ship at the outbound with Asian staff, the service was unpleasant and bad attention. I am well aware that the ferry is a means of transport but the company should take care both facilities (in terms of hygiene and updating) as customer relations, whatever the accommodation paid.
"Terrible management of embarkation and disembarkation"
The services and quality of the cabin as well as the crossing, were to our liking. However, we are very impressed with the mismanagement during boarding and disembarkation. To boarding in Genoa we were waiting two hours before, because they had to position the vehicles whose final destination was Tangiers (the second stop), since we and along with dozens of other vehicles ended our crossing in Barcelona (the first stop). It would be more reasonable to make two boarding calls: first for vehicles destined to Tangier, and then to Barcelona. Similarly, on disembarkation we had to leave the cabin at 12:00 and made us wait in a small space on the 6th floor for two hours until we could finally leave at 14: 00h. We were traveling with small children and the heat was unbearable. We should have been located in a better conditioned area.
"Enforcing the rules"
We didn't like the experience and neither my family nor I will recommend. On the return trip, no one would sit in place, passengers going to Tunisia took all the places that they wanted and put their blankets and pillows and appropriated seats that were not them and they slept soundly in three or four seats and if you asked them for your place, as soon as you got up someone else came and one put their stuff. Horrific return journey . People sleeping on the floor with mats in the corridors. and staff went through and did not say anything.
"Lack of cleanliness"
Overall the ship was in good condition but just dirty. The cabin had clean sheets and pillows, but the bedspreads and the bathroom was not totally clean. While the passengers did not care too much the facilities nor the boat staff did anything about it. Staff generally were not totally friendly, rather unpleasant, with the Maghreb passenger
"Very nice trip"
A comfortable ferry that offers good services in this crossing. A small deficiency is that no free wifi in the rooms and this is a problem because the area that takes the journey there is no sign at all and you remain incommunicado during the crossing. If they can solve this deficiency perfect trip
"barcelona-genoa"
the ferry arrived in advance , the travel was good , the negative things was the expensive food with low quality
"The cleaning and quiet in public áreas was the worst"
Old ship but not bad. cleaning was not good enough and because the dates (July 24) and the ship comes from Tangier, Maghreb families with children ""uncontrolled'' in public areas. Otherwise well, punctual and quick. It has not to be a luxury ship for one night (21 hours total) .For those who live in Madrid, it would be better to depart from Valencia that is in our way. The staff is not friendly and not able to help. The majority speaks only Italian. Incredible in an international ferry passengers.
"Plesant travel adnd well organized"
We ravelled from genoa to Barcelona on the ferry that later went to Tanger, it was the bigger boat i have travelled with, was well organized despite the large number of vehicle and passengers on board , above all maroccan families . The cabins (we were 3)very big with window with sea view. I have a complain regard the restaurants time, to have the breakfast you had to wake up very early or you're content with the few leftovers of the bar.
"all well"
good and thanks
"Food and drinks are too expensive"
Why not an all inclusive crossing
"Catering"
The catering was deficient, the choice was poor and the quantities were small. The prices are high in comparison to what's on offer (both in the self restaurant and in the restaurant). Moreover, you should adapt the opening times of the restaurant according to the time of boarding.
"The crossing"
My crossing was really good. It was good, welcoming. I booked a seat and I have nothing to fault. Me and my wife will take the ferry with a cabin next time.
"a very good trip"
the crossing went smoothly. We departed and arrived on time. The boarding and the disembarkment were great.
"Best way to make this trip"
Ferry was great! Staff was super helpful. Even grabbed me from the train station when I was in danger of missing the boat. Facilities are a little older, but perfectly comfortable. A much more pleasant way to make the trip than by plane.
"Reviews"
We've been making this crossing every year since 2003 as we long six months of the year in Agadir. We are totally satisfied with GDV, which operates this crossing. My only grievance is that the meals could be included in the price of the ticket.
"Excellent"
Apart from the delay of the return journey, I find really comfortable to travel with your company.. Thank you
"Great"
Except for the delay during the inbound journey, I find the journey with you very enjoyable. Thank you.
"verry good"
your chipments are ok bad where de passengers sliping iset verry cold ent for me isset not acceptebel the passengers are richt to sliep in confortebel room dou somting about tis for de rest is et al ok for me
"Easy return from Morocco"
Good facilities, a good bed and good toilets. It was inconvenient that the water supply did not work for the first 12 hours and none of the toilets on board could be flushed. Minor drawback: the cafetaria is incredibly expensive! We had to pay €2.80 for two slices of cheese. The quality of the food is good. I would travel with this company again, but I would bring my own food.
"smoking Area "
Loading was much more chaotic than in Tunisia or Greek operators. On the boat there is not a single corner without smoking. It's all filled with smoke and the crew does not care. Hang it anywhere smoking signs. We traveled with young children and they wanted us even turn on a cabin that was full of smoke. After a complaint was tried room-spray what was even more terrible. Eventually we got a new cabin. The game room was completely empty and mostly closed. The staff seemed a total moody and unhelpful. Conclusion: We're going again next time with the French or Tunisian. There are all more comfortable.
"a unforgettable experience"
In spite of some flaws (electronic keys not working, dilapidated interiors, a lack of service at the bar, a lack of choice in the boutique), you travel with a very diverse crowd. Everyone has their own story to tell. The arrival on the strait of Gibraltar is spectacular and is a good opportunity for the passenger to assemble on the upper deck.
"Very late, but she went "
General was good for the ship of crossing. overall condition of the ship quite bad. THis ferry-line is not punctual in generel. the only thing that could move me to a recent book is the relatively cheap price.
"good experience "
we were very happy with both trips. only at the roundtrip palermo-genoa ship the cabin was not cleaned well enough.
"Not great"
The cleanliness of the cabin was not great.
"A return crossing between Genoa and Palermo"
Crossings aboard some majestuous ships. The check-in was quick, after booking online.
"Good travel experience"
the vessel was in perfect condition, the staff was really kind, the only negative aspect were the dirty toilets, however, good value for money
"Genoa-Palermo "
clean ship unfriendly staff at the upper deck very strict opening times at bar / restaurants etc. driven in the same holiday with tirrenia and moby, both of which are definitely better!
"Boarding - disembarkment"
It would be nice if the motorcyclists could board ealier. Thanks
"much noise and dirt "
Actually, everything was ok - only: the ferry came from Morocco and drove to Genoa on. It was incredibly loud and the next morning she was totally dirty and filthy - especially the toilets. I've done this many ferries - even overnight - driven, in this I was very happy when it arrived in Genoa.
"disappointed"
I had a very bad experience, and even though some members of the staff were really helpful, I have to say that the organization for the customer service care for the disable people was really disappointing. GNV didn't provide this service in this case, they left the customer without giving him any kind of assistance, for this reason we will not take GNV again.
"Ticket "
Overall has been a good experience but there are certain things that should be improved. Announces over the intercom should also be done in Spanish, especially if the departure or arrival port is in Spain. Cleanning in common areas like the deck or the bar should also be improved. They should also be more careful with the noises at night that can wake passengers up. They should also be quicker in the embark and disembark stages.
"some shortcomings ... "
We are the route 2003 - 2005 driven twice a year and we had to find that much has changed. The cabin especially at the Splendid was a disgrace, she was so dirty that one was bad. From public toilets to mention. The bed linen was broken and dirty. On the return trip to Genoa lacked a pillow and there was also no longer to be found. In addition, at the food counter in the self-service restaurant in the organization is lacking. There was a queue of at least 50 minutes.
"signposting Directions Genoa + Barcelona via GPS "
On the whole, satisfied with the ferry. something to improve would be that the journeys, Genoa + Barcelona are described in detail in the order confirmation at the port or the coordinates in the navigation system can be specified. For the approach from the ferry in Barcelona I got was a text message that we are in the Muelle Costa who is new to hit from 15 July 2013. However, the address of the house was Grimaldi. Via navigation device is not Muelle Costa rechable. The info at the Grimaldi building was not good. The pilot on the court, however, has done his job verry good and was very helpful to us at check-in at the port. We wish you an enjoyable season and remain with best regards Joe Abächerli Switzerland
"Thanks"
Our trip was good. The formalities were rushed through, the staff was nice and SMILING, the boat was clean and we arrived 2.30 hour early! We've been traveling with you company for two years and we are very satisfied with it. Congratualations and see you next year...
"An assessment of the crossing"
We enjoyed the confort of the family suite during our return trip (tanger/sete on 20/07). Nice cabin and beautiful boat. The outbound journey wasn't as pleasant, as we only had a 3 people cabin and the boat made a stopover in Barcelona without us being informed about it. We were supposed to arrive at 9am, but arrived at 4pm.
"Not very positive"
I am not going to be very positive, I'm afraid. I travel with GNV, because I don't have any other choice. They have the Sète Tanger market. I would use a different company if I could. The ship itself is fine. Although GNV is Italian, you could expect that on a France to Morocco journey, the staff and the services to be in FRENCH! It's incredible to see the staff (and only the staff) watching TV in Italian. It's difficult to ask any information. The meals are expensive, not very good and lack of variety.
"Grfand Navi Veloci Splenddi"
The cabin facilities on the ship were excellent, clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful when boarding however the usher in the self serve area was perhaps the rudest man I have ever met and seemed to enjoy herding passengers instead of assisting them. There was a little bit of confusion when we were about to disembark in Barcelona but language difference may have been the cause there. All things considered, we totally enjoyed the journey.
"Review on Grandi Navi Veloci"
This trip with GNV has been the best i've done in my life...comfort, entertainment and ospitality at high standards. On behalf of all my family I would like to say a big thank to all staff. See you next year.
"Disappointing "
The equipment of the boat is disappointing for a 21 hours journey, the quality of the food is poor, the staff is neither very nice nor happy to travel on that boat (their words), there are no deck chairs on the deck, the boutique is only opened twice for one hour during the day. Conclusion: mediocre
"Unexpectedly, however, arrived the target "
The first surprise was that the ferry from Genoa to Tanger drives via Barcelona; Barcelona thus represents only an intermediate station Accordingly you are waiting very long during boarding of passengers that go to Africa that enter on the ferry first. as departure time was 13...: 00 clock indicated (at 10:30 clock we were in the queue of people waiting), shortly before 15:00 clock we came on board-at the time were all Pullman seats occupied by sleeping long-haul travelers, the numbering is however also in a more than deplorable Condition My tip:. necessarily secure a cabin to be not at risk of insomnia and to escape the odors of other feet. The sanitary facilities are cleaned very often, but as far as the men's area, permanently flooded, as very much like a shower is. and the separation between showers and toilets not working. The staff is very mixed set, what is the Serviceability terms-of sneering and dirigiste to extremely friendly you will find everything. The crowds at the supply points is great, but handling rapidly. We were glad to be able to go an hour late in Barcelona board, promised cruise level, we can not find. After all, it was the only negative experience in Europe 7000 km round trip.
"The staff is very nice"
We had a great trip. The staff is excellent, especially the young people with the blue shirts. By the way, I'll get the return tickets on the same boat.
"General state"
Good
"Fast boarding"
Excellent booking service, fast boarding, but after an hour of departure the bathrooms were filthy.
"MSc Splendid"
Terrible crossing from Palermo to Genoa, delay, despite the beautiful aesthetic line of the ship. The return on the Supreme was much more efficient.
"My impressions"
The outbound journey was very good. The staff was cheerful and welcoming. The inbound journey wasn't as good. We couldn't close the bathroom door and we were stung. Everything was good apart from that. I recommend that ferry, because it is good.
"miserable "
Barcelona: The check in as a foot passenger is nowhere really signposted - you have to ask to get there. The ferry is in a visually desolate state. My door couldnt be opened after a short time with the card, a technician (VERY FRIENDLY) had to repair it by hitting the keylock. The promised pool is covered with nets and planks. Many of the already few chairs on deck are dirty or broken. Night club and restaurant were closed down by chains. Shower head rusty. Hair in the shower ....... restauran: On the card was " Steak / entrecote on rucola ". However, it was served on plain thinly sliced lettuce. The good thing concerning this dish is yes - the interaction with the sharp bitter rucola. In addition there was mushy fries! Unfortunately, my stomach emptyed out the whole food. Self-service restaurant: The food looked simply " shitty ". I first got into the queue and then got me simply a pair of biscuits in the small boutique: My conclusion: I was so disappointed by everything!
"Swift operations"
Operations and storage of cars efficient. Peaceful journey with full respect of the times of departure and arrival.
"Canceled trip "
On 07.06.2013/10: 30 nightly trip was canceled via SMS. No alternatives were announced and under the specified information line heard only music. So we had no choice but to go to the office of Grandi Navi in Palermo. The return was made until 24 hours later. We suspect that the reason was that the rides from 7.6. and 8.6. were poorly booked and society together put two unprofitable trips to a profitable.
"Fine, toilet disgusting"
The cleanliness of the toilet was not good, I consider it a primal thing in my opinion. I wonder GNV are aware of this, otherwise everything else is fine.
"Civitavecchia-Palerme crossing on Friday 24 may 2013"
Welcoming staff. Not enough information from Civitavecchia given the check in door number (desk18) and the boarding deck (24). Why not installing a digital board like in train stations or airports. The crossing was nice and without any difficulty.
"Sicily ferry review"
I have used the ferry from Italy to sicily a few times and think it is good value for money .This time it was an overnight journey and I had the best nights sleep for ages it must be the gentle hum of the engines and the cabin reminds me of my liveaboard narrow boat !
"cleanliness"
Satisfying trip despite the cleanliness of the cabin. The carpet looks like it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. The bathroom was barely clean. An empty bottle in the cupboard?
"Travel conditions"
It was a pretty good trip. The only complaint is that there is no place to sit on the deck because there was not enough chairs. The bar which is a large room was closed the entire trip, while it is the most beautiful place in the ferry. Therefore, no room for other places to eat, and we had to transfer into the cabin. Otherwise everything was great.
"Tanger Sete crossing"
Why such a big wait at the dock in Tanger before departing???
"Always late"
Sadly the usual lateness was even worse this time, even though lots was made up for during the crossing. The crossing started 5 hours late and we ended up arriving 2 hours late. Cabins are ok, cleansiness not very good.
"Very satisfied"
For a first experience, it went very well. The staff is cheerful and professional, cleanliness of the boat and travel confort. Very good.
"Value for money good"
Boarding went smoothly. Times were kept. Food on board was good. Cabin was a nice size, clean and had a good bed. In the bathroom 2 of 3 bulbs didnt work. The windows should be cleaned every now and again from the outside. Drivers should be told not to start the motor til then can actually drive away.
"Civitavecchia Termini Imerese return."
Outbound 27/03/13 inside cabin: excessive heating Return 04/04/2013 reserved seat: very uncomfortable, impossible to sleep embarkation and disembarkation of the car: chaotic.
"No information "
Hours of delay, Departure without sufficient relative information for passengers, no explanations or reasons given to passengers, hence the unhappy tone of the review. Everything was OK on board.
"Went as planned"
Thanks for the crossing. All went well and i'll be returning to this GNV ship soon.
