One of the longest serving ships in the GNV fleet, the Majestic has been providing enjoyable and safe Mediterranean crossings for years. The vessel can carry up to 1790 passengers at a time as well as 760 vehicles. The ship has comfortable cabins and sumptuous suites for passengers to enjoy. There is a wide array of food options onboard, a shopping centre, designated children’s area and even a seasonal swimming pool. Public Wi-Fi is available for those making the crossing.
There are plenty of accommodation options on the Majestic with 341 cabins, 19 suites and two specially adapted disabled rooms. All cabins come with air conditioning, en suite bathrooms, including a shower and hairdryer and the comfy beds will help you put your feet up, relax and maybe get some much needed sleep. If you choose to stay in one of the spacious suites you will be able to take advantage of complimentary air conditioning, a television, radio and mini bar, as well as a large porthole for you to admire the sea views.
Every travellers culinary needs will be catered for on the Majestic. If you are looking for a sophisticated sit down meal then the a la carte option is for you. Here you can enjoy three courses, serving a combination of Mediterranean, regional and delicious international dishes. As well as that there is the more informal self-service section and a snack bar and kebab area for those wanting a quick bite to eat.
A shopping centre can be found on the Majestic where you can enjoy duty free shopping whilst on the move. You have the chance to purchase gifts and enjoy bargains on items such as perfumes, aftershaves, alcohol and other selected items. There are also newspapers, magazines, books, toys and puzzles to help you pass the time on your travels.
In the summer months make sure you back those swimming costumes as you can enjoy the benefits of the Mediterranean climate from the on deck pool. If you and your colleagues need to have meetings on the move then you’re covered. This is thanks to the conference centre and meeting rooms onboard. The public Wi-Fi allows you to surf the web as well as the waves whilst with GNV. You’ll also find a chapel and library on the ferry.
Travelling with little ones can sometimes be a challenge but the designated children’s area helps keep young voyagers happy.
The ship has been adapted throughout to help travellers with restricted mobility and also has four disabled cabins.

When we got on the ship it already has people asleepnin the common areas and all over the floor. No change over or clean had been done. The mens toilet were blocked, tissue and water all over the floor. The common areas, the carpet looked like it hadn't been hoovered or cleaned for months. They also left over an hour late. So many kids screaming most of the time on the boat.

Awful time keeping in regard to when the ship was actually leaving port and to what was happening before hand. Awful time keeping when being asked to leave the ship, pet cabins that stayed late checkout were asked to leave cabins 2hrs+ before even anywhere near docking at Barcelona. Poor cleanliness across the whole ship and also in the cabins, previous pet hair left all across the floor and in the bathroom. Those staying on the ship to Tangier must have been cooking in cabins as the stench on the boat was horrendous and also where people hadn’t booked cabins and were sleeping on floors across the ship. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

I booked my car and myself Tangier Med to Barcelona for £158 , i bought more then I had first purchased in Morocco so got myself a littel box trailer 1 metre long , i emailed Ferries Direct to add this and a cabin no reply , on arrival at the port they wanted 450 Euros plus the bung - WHAT A UTTER RIP OFF CAR 5 metres £150 Trailer £400 utter ripoff plus the £30 bung just utter rip off
"Horrible crossing."
Horrible crossing - in fact possibly the worst ferry I have ever taken. It was full of people travelling from North Africa who laid out mattresses and food on the floor. The piano bar had been turned in to a prayer room (which seemed very incongruous) and none of the bars were open at all during the trip. The ship was filthy throughout - dirt on all the tables and carpets. No seating in the reception area apart from a straight banquet. Few staff to be seen during the entire time. A woman sat down next to me and was sick all over the floor. A staff member finally came over to her with a clear plastic bag and when I asked her to clear up the vomit she just shrugged. The catering staff in the proper restaurant were good and the food was fine, but they seemed very depressed as to the quality of their passengers and the poor condition of the ship. Overall it felt like a refugee boat. Never ever again will I use this route.

ferry boat departure time is only indicative. It is rare that ferries sail on time however the ferry was nice, clean and people on board courteous.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Best ferry I’ve been on in the Mediterranean! Only think was only one power point in the cabin which is difficult with sharing with people you don’t know. Pillow was non existent.

When I pay for a cabin I do not expect to step around people sleeping on mats in corridors. This company should get its act together and not be afraid of upsetting certain faiths. If you cannot afford a cabin or a reclining seat on an overnight ferry, then tough. The fact is, is that if you have no choice other than pay for a reclining seat or cabin on an overnight ferry you will, just as you must on Brittany Ferries. That apart the staff are first rate.

Check desk around the corner of the building. Spoke good English to help us on our way. Walk on oassabgerd had to stand around the side waiting to be let on which was a little confusing. Food on boat ok. Long queue at self service which meant food was cold by the time we ate. Lifts very busy on arrival to exit. Cabins comfy enough. No power sockets though. Eveeyone charging phones around the boat.

As a foot passenger was surprised at the lack of signage as to where to wait or which direction to go to gain access to the boat or any indication as to when access may be gained. Once on board the ships were spotlessly clean and all facilities were good with the exception of WiFi. It was very difficult and very expensive to gain WiFi access. €10 for 40 minutes and €20 for two hours. Staff at reception were quite curt when asking about WiFi. Passport control aboard the ship was ridiculous with one man responsible for checking the passports of all the passengers aboard. I queued for two and a half hours to get my passport stamped.

Very much enjoyed the crossing. Ship was clean, staff were excellent and very helpful, and cabins were very good. Departure and arrival spot on time, and very smooth (we had an overnight crossing, on a half-empty ferry). One comment is around the signage to get to the ferry terminal - the entrance is poorly-marked, and GNV is not on any sign from the main road (we had forgotten that GNV used to be SNAV), which caused more stress than needed to find the entrance. Once we did, staff were very helpful in directing us to the right ship. The on-board cafeteria is not particularly cheap, or distinguished.

A pleasant trip on board Majestic. The boat was not too busy so easy to get a seat in the main hall and dining room but not so good on deck. The coffee bar was ok but there was very limited seating up there. Cabin was good- clean & comfortable- as a solo traveller I shared with 3 other ladies & we got on fine. Boarding in Barcelona was straightforward but disembarking in Tangier was chaotic - as one of only four foot passengers on board I was in the midst of all the other passengers trying to get to their cars & this was a bit confusing. Free bus to the port station was good.

There were no clear directions for foot passengers as to where to go to board the boat and you had to walk through all of the cars and lorry's lining up to board - at the risk of being run over. We were informed boarding would start at 6pm and so dutifully lined up with our luggage waiting. In fact boarding for foot passengers only started at 7: 15ish. This was fine as the weather was good. However had it been raining we would have been standing there for over an hour without any shelter. There was no information given and no one seemed to know what was happening. Also, there needs to be a lift to the boarding deck - we had huge heavy cases as were touring Italy for 3 weeks and had to get them up a flight of very steep and awkward stairs.

Both of our journeys went well. One thing that has room for improvement were the towels which were old and left a lot of fluff around. Otherwise everything was pretty much as expected.

Departures and arrivals really punctual, ship really dirty also the cabin with toilet, in the return journey it was never clean, a lots of kids were making noise till late and the staff intervened only when I asked for it, the quality of the restaurant is just enough for the italians standards, the price is to expensive for the kind of food served, general services (reception, security, boarding and landing procedures) are poor despite the kindness of the staff.

Genoa-Palermo in board the La Superba it was not the best journey, all approximeted, poor self-service quality. The return with Majestic was so much better, good cleaning, especially inside the cabin, helpfull staff, it was like a mini cruise with a really resanable price.

The journey in a 3 pple cabin was confortable. We departed on time and arrived on time. The cabin was clean, the crew was polite and competent. We weren't given any information about evacuation, plus the announcement from the speakers were inaudible. The catering was decent (if you consider that it is a ferry and not a gourmet cruise. There was a chaotic momenet when we entered Morocco with the formalities. The police officier wasn't organised. Going through customs is easy though if you're staying less than a month.

We booked the ferry Magestic from Sete to Nador. Depart 23.03.2014. Return 10.04.2014. Because of bad weather the arrival at Nador was cancelled and we went directly to Tangier. We received €50 in compensation or had the option of cancelling. The return journey from Nador was maintained although we travelled via Tangier (without disembarking) as scheduled. We travelled with our campervan (7m long)on board and paid about €1000 for the return journey including a 3 berth outside cabin. We were satisfied with the value for money and the quality of the services offered. The ship was clean and quiet and there were both self and waiter restaurants as well as a bar and a snack bar. The Majestic isn't a cruise liner but it is quiet with spacious public zones and the personnel were polite and helpful.The cabins were adequate (shower/toilet/lavabo)and we only needed 2 berths so the third was folded away. Beware of the cool temperature maintained at all times in the boat. We needed adequate warm cloths even in the cabin. We were very impressed by the efficiency of the team which cleared the cabins after they had been cleared for disembarcation at the ports of call. Similarly there is obviously a very efficient, experienced and disciplined crew. Our only real complaint concerned the terminal at Sete where we had a 2hr queue in front of the inadequate confirmation desks in the ferry terminal. Fighting broke out between jostling non European passengers and the police were called. Similarly we had to queue for an hour on the boat to clear Morocain customs but this was orderly and well organised. We were misinformed by the internet site concerning the arrival at Sete for the return journey. We were informed that the ship would arrive at 18hrs thursday but in fact we arrived at 13h friday. Would recommend this ship (Magestic of Grand Navi Veloci (Italien)) and we would be happy to sail with them on a future occasion.

During the outbound crossing, our outside 4 pple cabin was clean and confortable, but badly soundproofed. We couldn't sleep a wink all night, because of the noise of the engines. During the inbound crossing, the cabin was better soundproofed, but dirty. It looks like they only changed the bedding. However, the boat was more modern and the concert was nice.

A substandard boat, a dirty bathroom, blocked toilets. The restaurants were closed during the day. The manager made me and my baby leave my room 2 hours before arrival in order to clean it. There were nowhere to heat the baby bottle during the crossing... I am very disappointed with the quality of the service offered for such an expensive price.

I am a regular client of the Barcelona Tanger line and I decided to go from Sete. It's easier to access the boat, with not too much traffic. I had booked an inside cabin, because there were no outside cabin available. I was escorted to it. The journey went well. The snack food is acceptable. It was on time. I'm coming back to France in early September and I will book my tickets in a couple of days.

We enjoyed the confort of the family suite during our return trip (tanger/sete on 20/07). Nice cabin and beautiful boat. The outbound journey wasn't as pleasant, as we only had a 3 people cabin and the boat made a stopover in Barcelona without us being informed about it. We were supposed to arrive at 9am, but arrived at 4pm.

Even though high speed train has connected Southern France to Barcelona, we have decided to try Ferry instead, just to experience it. Overall, the ride and the cabin are satisfactory, not superb, but consider it was a short trip. I'd say it was not a bad experience at all (since this was not a cruise ship). Funny thing was, the three of us were the only people taking this leg (Sete to Barcelona), while the rest of the people were heading to Tangier. This made us a very odd while we disembark from the ferry.

I thought the ferry facilities were deficient. You could see a lack of care and upkeep. I stayed in a cabin with my wife and I have to say it wasn't clean at all. The food service in the evening was quite basic. The self-service restaurant had some products that didn't look very good. The food and service from the "La Carta" restaurant was very good.

Friendly staff. Food is overpriced. Old ship, not well maintained. I would recommend taking a cabin because the seats can be a challenging option. The passengers loading in Genova was definitely not a pleasant experience, waiting on a pqrking lot in full sun for two hours.

The very slight problem with the iPad card. I bought a card at the reception for 10 euros for on hour of usage. I could get the number when scratching the card and was given a new card. At the end a second employee managed to get those numbers. You should change your card provider. I also find the fare for the 8th of August to be really high (I am a regular customer). I will therfore drive to Spain, although I am 70 years old.

33 hours relaxation at sea. sun, fun and nothing which has to be done. I would have liked to have deckchairs on deck and if the pool had been open it would have been great. Everything was quite alright!
