"Ūberfahrt vom 17-19 Genua Tangier"
In der Kabine war es sehr kalt. Das Verlassen der Fähre in Tangier war total chaotisch weil keiner den Verkehr an der Ausfahrrampe geregelt hatte und somit ein Hupkonzert und Gedränge entstand
"Goodbut could do better"
The staff were great, very helpful but a lot of them were new and getting some things done took longer. Food in the self serice was served onto cold .plates and the checkout was slow so food had to be re heated in the microwave . The cabin had 4 beds but only one socket for charging , theses days that's not enough almost everyone has a phone and maybe an iPad., 4 people, one socket not enough. The crew were great though. Kind regards Elaine Goodson
"Recent trip to Barcelona"
Unfortunately there was a problem when I paid for the trip and the ticket had only my name on it, so at Genova I had to change the ticket. As the terminal is being renovated I found it extremely difficult to get to the ticket office. Then there was a problem when we were about to get on board because we had apparently not checked in, but we had checked in and when I went yet again to another place to sort this out they told me we were chacked in and to go away. However, they did not want to let us onboard. In the end someone came and sorted it out over the telephone and we were allowed onboard. We have never had this problem before. It seemed like one person did not know what another one was doing. Once onboard everything was ok. It is unfortunate that if people have to pay for a sleeping seat, there are still people all over the various decks sleeping on the floor. This gives a very bad impression and does not make me feel safe.
"Exceeding Expectations"
What a lovely experience it was to travel by ferry for the first time. We booked a doublebed sleeper and expected one of the small cabins in the centre of the vessel with no windows. What a lovely surprise to open the door to the cabin and find something we thought the captain of the ship would later kick us out of because it looked like it could belong to him!
"Hits and Misses"
Booking was fine. Address for directions wrong. TOOK 45 mins to find terminal. Booking must be validated in terminal. Told tolerate cabin at 06 40 thinking we docked at 09 15.Not a good experience.
"September 2022"
Terrible
"Disappointing "
I've used quite a few ferries over the years and this is probably the worst one I've used. It wasn't particularly particularly clean - the sheets had stains (and one had holes) and the shower hadn't been cleaned. Some of the dinner choices weren't available, nor were some of the soft drinks and beers.
"Very disappointed "
Dirty and dusty, people allowed to lay down/ sleep all over corridors, we had to step over them in public area, bar’ banquets, etc.
"Ship was OK, but disgusting food"
The food at the self-service was gross, meat and fish baked dry, sauces with weird off-flavours. Coffee served in plastic cups. The cabin was decent. The bars felt stuffy.
"Missed Sailing due to lack of Information from GNV"
We missed our sailing because GNV only informed us in Italian/Portuguese in an SMS which got buried in the multiple SMS`s which everyone knows. Instead of sending an email requiring a confirmation, they just sent a SMS! 5 minutes before the ship sailed they called us. We were at the harbor but couldn't fine the gate. Really aggravating. GNV needs to: -Informed customers by email and SMS requiring a confirmation from the customer. Furthermore they need to be very exact where the harbor is and what building/gate customers have to drive to.
"Oh dear!"
This does not start well! We booked and received confirmation of the time (1200) and date of sailing. Nearer to the date of sailing we were sent an update by SMS stating that the time of sailing had changed to 1700. This made life easier for us, as we could drive up the same day to Barcelona. Then we received an email stating that departure time was now back to midday. OK, hotel required for overnight stay. Check with office day before that all is good, she looks at our ticket and informs us the ferry is tomorrow. We arrive at 0900 only to be told the ferry is at 1700. We arrive at 1400, the ferry, (not the Excellent as on the itinerary and my PLF, but the Allegra) arrives late, and for more than 2 hours after our sailing time are left wondering what is going on. Eventually boarded, and again no explanation or apology. First room had no light in the toilet, the second room a bunk light does not work, the chef decided that I wanted my starter and the main at the same time, and we are not in Genoa yet!
"Jan 2020"
The crew were attentive and polite. We spent two hours queuing at the wrong terminal (Grimaldi) , where we used to join the ship together with many other passengers, because the ticket did not say to go the new Trans-Mediterranean terminal. The ship left on time and arrived on time at Tangier-Med.
"beware "
We booked last minute and it was a nightmare. Turned up early but because we hadn't been to the office which is in the shopping centre and not at the port - of course - were turned away by a very unhelpful port-side official who just said no turned us around and sent us away and when asked what to do was told "left" and that was it! Fortunately some helpful Italian people told us where to go and what to do as if they had heard this all before. Then if it hadn't been for another Brit telling us what to do whilst waiting in line to board with the paperwork to get it registered this would have been another mess-up. When on board 2 hours later than scheduled we then had to change that paperwork into meal tickets but noone told us. So we turned up at the restaurant to be told to go away again and we went to information where a very rude older woman ignored us completely as if we didn't exist and then the main guy spoke to us and gave us the right ticket withoyut a smile or welcome. He also said we could use them in the shop so we went to the shop gathered some stuff and then at the paying desk was told we couldn't use the ticket there. So we left the stuff and walked out. We then went back to the restaurant only to find that it had shut without a single notice of opening and closing times to be seen anywhere. Eventually when it reopened we had a nice meal but on all plastic single use plates etc! The only decent place on board which was helpful and human was the young guys on the snack bar who were excellent - the rest were unhelpful and rude and didn't know how to smile! The route and service is very good but the organisation is terrible and the people very unhelpful and the worst place ironically was the information desk! Avoid if you can unless you have to use it and be prepared for an experience of a lifetime!
"Poor food, lack of information, 4 hour check-in"
We were on the ""Excellent" from Genoa to Tanger via Barcelona with the car. Boarding was very inefficient. We called GNV the day before to see if we really did need to check-in 4 hours before departure. Yes we did. In retrospect most people arrived after us. You need to go into the building to get your papers, although this is not clear! First queue at GNV desk to get vouchures for your car, meals, room etc and emigration forms. Next queue is for Italian passport control, you need to have completed the emigration form and have all passports and travellers with you. Boarding started at 30mins after advertised departure time and we pulled away 2 hours later. No explanation for the delay Once on board there was another queue to get room keys. No idea why these are not handed out at the port. Dinner was advertised to start at 7:30pm, at 7:45pm we asked why it had still not started to be told it would be 8pm, again with no explanation apart from a shrug. It opened at 8:05pm. By then a massive queue had formed which moved very very slowly as the one cashier had to find the envelope with your pre purchased meal tickets and explanation of what this covered after you had selected your food from the self service line. Of course he then had to take back what was not included, or charge for it. Once again, why were the meal tickets not handed out at check in? By the way, the food was luke warm but we were starving by that time. Lots of advertised amenities were closed; the pool, ice cream store, fitness room, cinema and disco. Breakfast was actually fine, no queue and acceptable food - as long as you like bread and croissants (no fruit, meat or cheese in the self service resteraunt, cereals were extra) Passport pre-checks for Morocco were mayhem, maybe can't blame GNV for that. Security arrived after 40mins to try and instil some order. Actually they were open all afternoon and a few hours on the morning of arrival at Tangiers. Had we known this we could have relaxed and gone later. Despite departing 2 hours late from Genoa we arrived into Tangiers an hour early In summary, the ship was tired and run down, the food was poor, often luke warm, lots of advertised amenities were closed, 4 hour check-in was way too long, but for me the biggest problem was the lack of information. This could be solved very easily - Hand out at a single sheet of A4 at check-in stating meal times, Moroccan car and passport procedures and what is included in the set meals. - Also hand out the room keys and meal vouchures at the same time - Have the menu on the the way into the self-serve resteraunt so you know which main courses are vailable when choosing your starter. If they did this i would be giving 4 stars
"Ghastly"
You’d really have to have a pathological hatred of driving through the south of France to prefer the ironically named “GNV Excellent” as a means of getting yourself and your car from Barcelona to Genova. It is chaos from start to finish with staff seemingly finding check-in as bewildering as the passengers do. The theme continues aboard: the boat is run down and litter-strewn and looks like it was last cleaned about the time of its maiden voyage, which was evidently a very, very long time ago. The public areas and deck seating are unappealing and shabby. Most of the advertised facilities were shut for the whole of the journey – the few that were open for a few hours were understaffed and underwhelming. There was a small counter where if you waited long enough you might be able to get a drink but most of the other public places had shuttered counters and had in any case, like every spare inch of corridor space, been turned into makeshift sleeping accommodation. So if you doggedly persist in getting your beer, good luck finding somewhere to sit and drink it. . The lingering impression though is the smell. A stale pong of damp carpets mixed with choking diesel fumes permeates the entire ship, including the cabins. The final instalment of this nightmare ride is that for an arrival scheduled for 8:30 am, you will be hounded out of your cabin at 6am for the convenience of the cleaning staff. This is what must drive repeat travellers, if there really can be such masochists, to prefer to camp in the corridors: there is demonstrably no danger of anyone disturbing them by wanting to vacuum the carpet they are sleeping on. In short, the worst ferry and one of the worst accommodation experiences I have ever known in Europe. I simply do not understand how a company like this can stay in business. Perhaps people read the reviews, look at the high prices and conclude it can’t be that bad: believe me, it really is. Traveller’s top tip: avoid like the plague.
"Complains"
The trip was in time, but service and facilities on board beneath acceptable level. Crew/staff speak very poor English, are not informed, speaker can not be understood, no casino, no bar or any other facilities in the night, no communicationroom nor WiFi or other kinds of communications, bathrooms very ugly, not clean, not hygienic, carpets all over very old and dirty, trash everywhere...so this was a bad experience. I will not take this trip again. Beside that most passengers where moroccan/muslims, they take over every room for praying and in night, early morning all that muezzin music calling for doing prayors etc. Sorry but this all is beneath acceptable level..
"GNV Barcelona to Genoa"
Boat was called MS Excellent but to be honest was far from it. Loading and booking in chaotic. The ship itself must be ready for maintenance or actually under maintenance but still sailing. Main seating area was completely closed so limited seating available. A number of lifts were signed out of order. Cabin was reasonable clean and comfortable except for blankets on beds which were rough and well used. That said it's a convenient route from Spain to Italy. p.s. original booking was for Friday but that boat cancelled so we had to rebook!
"No driving "
The trip was pleasant. Good night sleep. The boat could do with a good clean and painting but overall good spur for money. We traveled with two dogs and had no problems.
"Very Disappointing "
Our Cabin No 7102 was filthy. We only used the loo because we’d no choice, we couldn’t use the shower. The shower cubical was disgusting, hairs on the floor not to mention the ground in dirt, on shower floor, around plug hole and overflow, under the sink shelf. This is long time ground in dirt. Thick dust on the chrome on the lamps on either side of the bed. Terrible experience. The staff in the pizza restaurant were very competent and friendly. Was glad to exit this ferry, I will never use it again.
"From a bygone era"
It's a rather charming thing to step back in time but to see the locked doors, blocked out areas, and empty hallowed halls, it makes for a limited experience. Charming in the moment, but difficult to go beyond on that.
"Chaotic Grand Navi"
Service nothing short of chaotic. Food in restaurant poor, slow service, bar facilities often unavailable. Breakfast ; 2 x staff serving, 27 waiting, cold scrambled egg, cold dry bacon and till not working correctly. Some staff incompetent, query badly trained. Car loading at Genoa too slow, passage - despite a calm sea, very slow arriving 90 minutes late. Message to Grand Navi CEO , not good enough, you should ashamed and do something about it. A totally disappointing experience.
"How bad can it be"
If you have every been to Barcelona ferry terminal you will know it is big. Having only a print out from direct ferry’s saying collect tickets on arrival easy I thought !!!! GVM office /terminal is hidden and when you do find it you are welcomed by a que but no one at the post office type windows No info No signs great. Queed up only to be told get paper worked stamped after parking up where ??? No answer just pointed out side bemused we wandered outside to see a small sign on the fence Embark no arrow no sign ,followed round the back of the office to be faced with pandimodum one young girl forty cars and us in a Motorhome eventually got paper work stamped and parked in what we hoped was the right lane. Back into office into a now irate and large que to fight our way to the front for our tickets eventually got tickets and returned to Motorhome Two hours later we managed to board the ferry total lack of organisation Ferry was already full as it had come from Morocco room was OK ferry was full of screaming kids and people sleeping in corridors and bars with all there possessions with them. The only time we left cabin was to go to the restaurant (only sane place and serving booze) Use this service as a means to an end it is in no way anything like the spain to England ferry service Good luck Have Patiance and stay calm
"Going home"
The trip was fine. We had no problems. It did seem difficult to understand the booking in. The fact We had booked a four berth, outside, sea view with two dogs. We were unable to contact anyone to say one of our dogs had died and no one replied to our emails. At the port no one seemed interested in the fact the we only had one dog . We wanted to know about other trip but there was nothing there and staff could not help.
"Genoa - Barcelona "
The boat journey was lovely. The food is overpriced for what you get but I think that is universal for ships. The staff were helpful, the room was clean. I would use this service again
"Never again"
2.5 hours late, no food. As in Nothing. Had to beg for a glass of milk for my 2 year old. Nothing opened, no pool, no store, no restaurants, no kids room, no movie room. Nothing. No wifi, no communication on anything. Grossly understaffed. Trash everywhere. Worst boat I have every been on, in 30 years of travel.
"A mixed bag"
Check in in Genoa 1. Totally shambolic. We waited two hours only to be told as British passport holders it was unnecessary. No Euro friendly notices. It really was very, very poor. 2. Cabin on 7th deck was excellent with view over front of ship and lots of space. 3. Disembarking was again totally disorderly and shambolic. We were two of a very small number of foot passengers. Waited and waited for instructions—nothing. Everyone had gone, we asked and asked only to be told go to deck 3 (we were on deck 7) and walk off. This was unacceptable by any standards.. In addition there was a taxi strike in Barcelona so no transport into city centre. A coach (payable) should have been provided. Again poor service. 4. Food was OK but breakfast on Sunday 29th July was again very badly organised. My wife and I waited 50 minutes when all orange juice had run out etc. Shambolic 5. Conclusions. GNV are clearly not service orientated. The cabin was excellent but the rest left a lot to be desired.. Maybe the expections we had were too high but regrettably we shall never use the shipping line again.
"Not the best experience "
On. He king our cabin the mattress had blood stains on it that showed through the sheet. We pre paid fir our food, do not do this, on arriving for breakfast we did not have free choice but only a very limited selection of what was there. Everything else was extra. This was certainly not what it said on the booking sheet. Non of the on board facilities were available. Casino shut, pool empty, gym shut, most of the areas closed off lots if other stuff just closed off. People sleeping in the corridors on the floor. A nice ship being misused. When we complained about the breakfast the staff picked items up off our tray telling us they were not included such as a bread roll. We had to insist that they changed them after touching them with their hands. This included the girl on the till. It should have been made clear when we were booking that the food was very limited and that basic items such as cereal were not included. Main meals were cold and poorly prepared. Not surprised that most of the regular passengers brought their own food. The trip was mussteptesented by direct ferries.
"Quite good trip"
Timetable accurate. A bit complicated check in in Barselona port. Ship modest, clean enough. Family suite good. Crew good. Lunch and dinner in a-la cart restaurant good enough. Overall trip exceeded mjy expectations.
"Get a cabin"
Good cabins but food cold and pretty ordinary.
"Quite the worst European ferry I've travelled on in recent years"
Very disorganised checking in with no information or signage. Took 3 visits to the desk before I eventually managed to get boarding cards. Cabin was clean but spartan however good shower. Most of the facilities were closed - the main lounge, the bar and, for most of the voyage, so was the shop. On the whole the crew were charmless with a couple of exceptions. Food and beverages were expensive and in short supply. The blame was put on the fact that it was the last voyage of the Excellent before a revamp. The start of the voyage was a little rough and there was vomit on the carpet and top open deck 8 was awash with vomit. There were no sign of sick bags anywhere. The food in the restaurant was acceptable but expensive and the service, once again, was poor. It took well over an hour after we docked before we were called to disembark. All together a miserable experience.
"Not Excellent "
We were emailed to advise us that sailing time was changed to 1200hrs, but we did not sail till until 1255hrs The lounge was not made available so there was no comfortable seating available. We sat in the piano bar but this was ruined by the tv showing programmes at full volume to the extent that both myself and my wife went to our cabin with headaches due to the noise. On a long overnight crossing we like to spend the evening having a drink in comfortable surroundings but unfortunately this was not possible due to the closed lounge. We considered the self service restaurant overpriced for the quality of the meals offered.
"Never again "
12 hours late, 7 hours in they decided to turn around as there was a problem with machinery which happened just over 2 hours into the journey, everyone was told to move to the front of the boat as there was heavy fumes, we had to change ferry at 2 in the morning was not impressed, the staff were rude and unhelpful on the second ferry and the food was awful, breakfast was a crossiont coffee and juice, dinner was the same as lunch, bland and cold,
"Trip to Barcelona"
We really enjoyed our trip in a cabin outside the ship. It was quiet and comfortable. I would repeat the travel everytime possible.
"Sete to Tangier Med"
As a foot passenger was surprised at the lack of signage as to where to wait or which direction to go to gain access to the boat or any indication as to when access may be gained. Once on board the ships were spotlessly clean and all facilities were good with the exception of WiFi. It was very difficult and very expensive to gain WiFi access. €10 for 40 minutes and €20 for two hours. Staff at reception were quite curt when asking about WiFi. Passport control aboard the ship was ridiculous with one man responsible for checking the passports of all the passengers aboard. I queued for two and a half hours to get my passport stamped.
"GenoatoBarcelona"
A much more positive experience than we had expected from reading a review on the site. We booked an outside family cabin which turned to be so spacious we could have saved some money and booked the outside cabin for 3 person. Polite, helpful staff, cleaner than expected and comfortable mattress. We would take this trip again.
"Comfortable ferry, efficient and friendly staff"
Good ship, comfortable and clean cabins, good provision of towels and toiletries, good shops with affordably priced goods Food was pretty poor, the organisation of vehicle loading and unloading was pretty bad
"A Pleasant, Different Way to get to Italy"
Rather than a long drive from Barcelona to Camogli on our 2017 Spain-Italy holiday, we decided to take the overnight Barcelona-Genova Ferry. We had a bad start when the scheduled 11pm departure was delayed until 1:30am due to the ferry's late arrival from Morocco and very thorough, slow security checks of perhaps 50% of the vehicles disembarking at Barcelona.. After being told in advance to be there no later than 9pm, we arrived at 7pm, with thoughts of a pre-sail dinner. However after a less than efficient ticketing process, we were forced to sit in our cars or stand around near them, chatting to other passengers as the port restaurant wasn't open at all that day.. There were no announcements re the delay - very poor. Once on board we had a good journey. A small but comfortable cabin ans smooth seas helped. The pool wasn't open: it apparently runs to a seasonal timetable rather than the logic of the weather. Food was basic, but expensive.Overall, still a different, relaxing way to make this journey.
"It's ok once you you get on it!"
We had read a blog telling us that finding the right quay was a nightmare and the traffic/ parking situation there was impossible. The bloggers instructions were invaluable as she was right. No signs as to where to go, nowhere to park. We had also been told we would need registration documents for our vehicle, which many people had not realised.Direct Ferries need to tell customers this when they book. Once we boarded the ferry we found it to be an ex cruise ship, now a bit down at heel, for instance an empty swimming pool, other facilities not available. All passengers were summoned to a safety briefing which was incomprehensible and seemed puzzlingly pointless. Our cabin was ok and our meal passable. The view of Genoa was beautiful as we arrived. I would recommend the ship, along with plenty of instructions if you needed to go from Barcelona to Genoa.
"Ebrahim"
Very good
"DON'T BOOK WITH direct ferries.com"
DO NOT BOOK YOUR TICKETS WITH directferries.com They don't research departure or arrival times and this left us missing two connecting trains and a flight which cost us about £280. The arrival time on our ticket was six hours earlier than the scheduled arrival time. When I finally realised this I went straight to the staff and the response was, and I quote "oh you've booked with direct ferries.com, this kind of thing happens all the time with that company". Stay away from directferries.com. Book with the actual ferry company. The ship (Excellent) was as I thought it would be, nice enough for couple nights heading Tangier Med to Genoa. Staff were medium to average (tired I think). Food slightly better than airplane food.
"Pleasant and calm boat trip"
It was hard to fins the correct ferry terminal because there were several and not clear signs. When onboard we got a nice welcoming from the cabin staff. Check in was very organised. The 4 berth inside cabin was normal sized and the bathroom was clean and neat.
"Good service but negative post sales"
In conclusion the journey on board it was more than satisfied. All the attempts to contact the customer service (by phone or email) failed. We booked three month in advance and we realised we paid so much more than the price that was offered after.
"beautiful ship"
Good journey, beautiful esternal cabin, Only tv missing.
"Trip 2015"
Quite good
"Trip 2015"

"Sicily's trip"
Great the outbound with Suprema, less the return with Eccellent. Not all the services were available and unpolite crew
"Excellent"
Ok
"Crossing ge-pa"
All good
"Service review"
Boarding procedure really good. A bit old ship but with clean and comfortable cabins and toilets. Young, helpful and frendly staff. Expensive price to eat on board. Quite positive experience. Improving the point I indicated could be perfect. No instructions given about emergency situations.....
"Confortable and clean"
Comfortable ship, nice cabin (3berth external), clean, kind and efficient staff, good quality services on board
"An excellent service"
We have used Grandi Navi Veloci many times over the years. The ship we travel on this time, the EXCELLENT proved very good. We had a good size suite with a comfortable double bed. The facilities on board ship were excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly. The choice of dining facilities were very good. The Bentley car was well parked with excellent guidance from the garage crew. A company to be highly recommended.
"normal trip"
A reallu normal trip
"Palermo Civitavecchia"
Nothing to say about the organization, but there was uncomfortable because of the rough sea. I will recommend a friend to check before the wethear before booking.
"Civitavecchia Termini Imerese"
Beautiful ship, really comfortable, excellent price and the journey was fast. I stongly recommend it. I will see you soon. Thanks
"Genoa Barcellona 2 adults + car"
Essentials services were provided. Staff was always kind. You could add a cinema... But it was ok. Reasonable price. But inside the board there are no signs to help you moving around the ship, especially during the landing. In an emergency situation this would be a real danger!
"Nice experience"
In conclusion was a nice trip, kind staff and helpful, clean enviroments.
"excellent ferry"
Excellent trip and quiet
"Personal opinion"
excellent trip and excellent services
"October 2014"
Having used this ferry route previously, I knew what to expect, and as usual it was clean, on time, and the trip was a pleasant one. I only had one annoying moment, and on the route from Palermo to Genoa, we had a good meal, well presented in the a la carte restaurant, unfortunately on requesting a coffee, and a liquer, the coffee arrived cold. We informed the waiter who told us he thought it may be as the machine had been broken since the day before. Instead of apologising, and making a coffee in the kitchen, getting one from the bar, or just heating it up in the microwave, which was situated next to the defunct coffee machine, we were told there was no coffee available. On paying our bill, I thought that in lieu of a coffee, that the liquer would have been offered free by way of compensation. No, it was not, and both waiters were by now being rude. A senior member of staff arrived, and took us through to the bar, and sorted out a complimentary coffee, at the same time as agreeing with us that the matter could and should have been handled better. I will use the ferry again, but if the same staff are in the a la carte restaurant, I shall not be utilising it. The remainder of the staff were helpful and pleasant through out both trips.
"To Genoa"
Excellent journey, calm sea and quiet crossing. Good bar service, a lot of choises ath the self service. There was a piano bar at night, not very good, a cinema, and a club.
"Nice trip"
What very nice and clean was, was the outside cabin with Seaview. It was well maintained. There were however not many seats available on the deck.
"negative experience"
we travelled from barcelona to genova on the 29/08/14. dirty ship, toilets and cabins. People in the inside common area were smoking and no one from the staff did anything. I couldn’t sleep because of the people running and screaming around. I think that if I paid €134 for that cabin I have the right to sleep. animal people! I won't travel again with this company
"Experience with Grandi Navi Veloci"
At both Barcelona and Genoa we were not given any instructions how to find the correct terminal. No signage to the correct terminals, it was a totally nightmare and chaos. On the Excellence we did not hear any announcements in English. No announcements were made or any information given regarding where do go in the case of an accident at sea!! The cabins on both ships were very dirty. The Splendid was so bad we couldn't use the shower it was filthy, no plug in sink and the hair dryer didn't work!!! The whole cabin smelt of dust, hadn't been vacuumed for a long time. There were holes in all the sheets and the blankets hadn't been washed for a long time. We used the al la carte restaurant. On birth ships the restaurant was freezing cold, as was most of the ship. The food was not good and far too expensive. My husband ordered a shrimp risotto, it was a bowl of moulded rice turned upside down with one prawn on it!!! Tasteless!! €13 or €14.
"Bad cleaning in the cabins"
"JOURNEY BARCELONA-GÉNOVA-BARCELONA"
Both on the outbound and return the cleaning left a lot to be desired, especially in the services of the 9th floor where are the seat lounges. For the outbound leg, as the ferry came from Tangier, you can not talk about lack of cleanliness instead of obvious soiling. Besides noone of the crew member decided to go to see if everything was in good condition. We had to try to sleep with the TV blaring, the lights on and the air conditioning turning on at maximum, I guess to try to hide somehow the bad odors. In case of the return journey (where the staff was much more friendly), in Genoa all we had seats and with final destination to Barcelona placed us in a lounge without television and we could turn off the lights to rest. However, even if we requested at reception, they did not turn down the air conditioning. It is highly recommended in these conditions bring warm clothes for sleeping. In the self-service, the quality of the food is the characteristic of a school canteen service, but not their prices. In the cafeteria the prices go up and even if you order the cheapest and it is price list, is never available. In the case of the ship at the outbound with Asian staff, the service was unpleasant and bad attention. I am well aware that the ferry is a means of transport but the company should take care both facilities (in terms of hygiene and updating) as customer relations, whatever the accommodation paid.
"good and bad things"
It is not a luxury cruise, but we booked a cabin and was clean and comfortable. The crossing is relaxing once you've embarked on Barcelona. The boarding system was a bit chaotic and not very well explained. Finally I think it does not go too expensive more than to drive and take a hotel on the road and is more relaxing. So if I repeat the journey, I will go by ferry again.
"Enforcing the rules"
We didn't like the experience and neither my family nor I will recommend. On the return trip, no one would sit in place, passengers going to Tunisia took all the places that they wanted and put their blankets and pillows and appropriated seats that were not them and they slept soundly in three or four seats and if you asked them for your place, as soon as you got up someone else came and one put their stuff. Horrific return journey . People sleeping on the floor with mats in the corridors. and staff went through and did not say anything.
"The most dirty ferry I have ever tried - Really need some changes"
Really, the state of the boat and specially the cleaning on this route, that I have tried now several times, could not be worse. One word..disgusting! And I wonder, the place used for the mosque on board (in my mind a very strange thing on a ferry) could that not have been used better for making space for another restaurant, reading space etc.? The opening hours for the only restaurant on board are crazy. Only opens two hours for each meal. This mean, that there is not enough capacity for serving all passengers that like to to have dinner/lunch. The food though, is fine. I found the staff professional and nice. Best Regards, Miguel
"correct "
this time the cleanless of cabinwas better than the last time, the food was expensive with some bad dishes.
"barcelona-genoa"
the ferry arrived in advance , the travel was good , the negative things was the expensive food with low quality
"my stay"
good customer service
"uncomfortable seats"
good trip with friendly staff. I travelled with a reserved seat that wasn't comfy as I expected. I don't get why while people is sleeping the TV is always on and only the staff can switch it off.
"REST"
A ship to rest, no entertainment on the ship, discoteque closed, swimming pool closed, video games room closed and more, I'm not racist, but traveling with the ship full of Moroccans do not feel well, occupying the whole available space, sleeping at the halls and eating in any place (It should not be allowed) Also at boarding time they make us to lose a lot time. And finally if the prices were more competitive, everyone would visit more the bars and restaurants.
"Interesting"
Everything went smoothly. The staff is efficient and attentive.
"boat"
This boat is getting old and has travelled to much…however the staff is nice and does its best to be pleasant. I travel a lot and for that price, it's quite decent.
"Barcelona to Genoa ferry"
We traveled with Grandi Navi Veloci from Barcelona to Genoa on the "Excellent" in mid- April 2014. From the time we boarded around 11 AM until disembarking around 8 AM the following day the experience was extremely positive and enjoyable. On boarding we were escorted to our (family category)cabin, which was extremely large and comfortable, with double bed, separate couch, an outside window and an en-suite bathroom/toilet. Wifi was available in the room for a small charge. Meals were available at a bar/cafe or a dining room, in which we had an extremely good dinner. Outside deck areas at the rear of the boat were good places to watch the world go by. We believe the booking confirmation email/voucher (which was exchanged for tickets at the Barcelona ferry terminal)could be improved by including the Barcelona terminal address and (Grimaldi) signage to look for, and a mini-map showing its location.(We initially had a bit of trouble finding it). We would welcome the chance to travel with Grandi Navi Veloci again. Graham and Cheryl Miller, Trigg, WA, Australia
"Sète - Tanger et Tanger - Genoa"
Excellent services on board, pleasant and relaxed restaurants and bar. No negative comments in comparison to other companies travelling to North Africa.
"Excellent Seas"
We found boarding & disembarking the 'Excellent' was not easy due to poor signage and confusing directions from GNV staff. It started on first contact with GNV crew when they tried to confiscate our passports as we boarded - this caused great anger with passengers and then a back-down by the GNV staff. This ship is not new but is still very presentable. They had opened the cafeteria for those passengers who had boarded hungry and the food was great. There is also a bar that serves really good sandwiches , yummy cakes , etc at all hours and finally a fine dining restaurant. The pool & ice-cream shop were closed but that may have been seasonal. A large theatre opened infequently and screened movies in Italian. I had booked a 3 berth cabin for my daughter & myself and we were happy with the beds and ensuite bathroom and the cabin felt roomy , not claustrophobic as we had expected. We spent two nights on the 'Excellent' journeying from Tangier Med to Barcelona and really enjoyed the onboard experience - we would recommend this journey with the 'Excellent' as a good fun alternative to flying.
"Very enjoyable! "
first-class rating!
"Excellent MS: On the whole good, with potential "
For the general features of the ship can say that it is absolutely pleasant, the cabins are spotless and we felt not at all on the crossing from Tangier to Genoa concentrated one. Bathrooms were greater than in an Ibis budget. What I had been looking forward but unfortunately had to miss it was the gym. This had to make a mosque place, which you certainly could have otherwise shared accommodate. Wireless would have been present, but was defective according to the Department during the entire crossing. The quality of the food, at least in the a la carte restaurant was good. The waiter highly competent and diverse languages powerful. The Cornet-Glace from the kiosk was a disaster. soft Biscuit not the point. The cleanliness on the ship can best be described as follows; " Were is effortless " Taken as a whole seemed at first glance, everything very clean, but were, for example in head joints most diverse, well visible very much covered with gray mold. A thorough cleaning was doing well. From the staff various brass parts were polished during the crossing, but not one took the time to do it right, because in all the corners and edges well dried-polishing agent was always not visible. More detail would bring a lot of care. A somewhat infuriating point was the staff. The more senior people have to say in fairness were first class, decent and competent. However, this circumstance was thus again made up for by the following incidents: Sales staff at the kiosk: I do not care if he is stressed out by the North African clientele, to me they are partly belonging to the alarm, but as a customer I expect to be treated kindly and not like it when once I had paid just once before running away, before taking care of the order. (Here, however, still a little note in the evening an Italian waiter was still there each with two pairs of glasses, who seemed to be the complete opposite of the other, friendly, courteous, just as it should be) In the cafeteria, worked a waitress who left behind the impression more stupid than to be a piece of bread. Thus, for example, my desire not taken into account for a particular cheese, although I put forward show him in English, French, Italian, and with his finger on it. The cheese was on the same plate as the other. If you do all the time a face, as if you were next time jump from the bridge that does not work contributes to the good impression. Once again a huge praise needs to be made to the waiter and his superiors in the restaurant. Maximum attentive and competent the two. With the punctuality there is such a thing. When booking, it was said that the ship would arrive at 00.30 clock. Effectively we ran umd 07.30 clock in Genoa. About the arrival time you was informed only the night before arrival, before I informed myself when I realized that this arrival was not realistic. However, I would like to note here again that I can well imagine that there is a discrepancy between the actual timetable and the times given on the internet here. Conclusion: The trip was relaxing and enjoyable the ship on the whole. Anyone traveling from Tangiers must be of the large North African clientele which soon join, be aware of. This is partly getting used to. The staff has a lot of potential but if the criticism to heart then takes comes the good. I would go immediately back to the ship.
"very attentive "
helpful and prudent Crew
"Without comfort and tend dirty "
The ferry offers no comfort and looks dingy. Food in the restaurant was in the style of a cafeteria (overcooked spaghetti, ...). Name of vessel (Excellent) promises definitely not what it holds .....
"Staff nice - dirty ship "
The cleanliness on the ship in general was in places not what corresponds to European standards, the cabin was definitely among them. A thick layer of dirt, for example, leaves on the hair dryer suggest that was not wiped here for weeks. Bathroom was not cleaned, cabin also something disgusting. Furniture drawers, cabinets partially broken, torn bedding. Staff for nice, (torn plugs and lamps, electric shock ...) the defective light bar was repaired within three hours. But the ferry was favorable. The Greek ferries create the same distance considerably faster. Three nights aboard Tangier-Genoa is already significantly ...
"tanger barcelona"
No problem for the crossing, however boarding could be improved - the waiting time is too long
"waiting period "
Before arriving in Genoa, we had to leave the car at 18.00 clock and received until the arrival of any information. At 21.00 clock, we could leave the ship. During this time we had to sit on a staircase seat us due to lack of space.
"Cheap improvements"
Both crossings were superb. A sea was quiet, the sun was shining, the Italian mean were nice, although a bit pricey. The only thing missing is a relaxing area outside (not many chairs)
"not good "
We're not driven by ferry for the first time. have you ever complained about the cleanliness. But the last time was very bad. The toilets before Resteraunt has been completely destroyed but has made no appearances to repair it the room reservation on board lasts from 13-17h and with numbers. Thanks Fam Peterseil
"Easy return from Morocco"
Good facilities, a good bed and good toilets. It was inconvenient that the water supply did not work for the first 12 hours and none of the toilets on board could be flushed. Minor drawback: the cafetaria is incredibly expensive! We had to pay €2.80 for two slices of cheese. The quality of the food is good. I would travel with this company again, but I would bring my own food.
"A very pleasant crossing"
A pleasant and clean boat, the structure were well adapted The material is a bit outdated and a lot of facilities are closed during low season The food is too expensive
"crossing "
To our great regret we had booked a cabin with a window for the return trip. Unfortunately, a steel bulkhead in front of the window and could be removed nioht despite demand. suggestion: Deck chairs on the bare decks would make the crossing considerably more pleasant. Everyone sits around the covered pool around. However, far too few seats for the number of passengers. From other ferry routes so is somewhat standard.
"tanger barcelona crossing"
The crossing was excellent, we recommend this company.
"a trip to the moon"
it was very good. The journey was wonderful. Thanks
"relaxing "
.. "Introduce 800 kilometers without any stress - which is already worth what the ships make a well manicured and maintained impression The staff is friendly What bothered us: In Palermo, you stand a little lost because if you do not know you're with. his book still has to go to the billet switch. well hidden behind trees -. smooth you drive past him in Genoa de signs to the ferry port could be better.. Otherwise: Very laid back "
"great crossings "
was a pity that in the return journey the children's play room was not opened.
"Good crossing "
Set off with half an hour of delay of Palermo and arrived according to schedule an hour earlier. Super! The ship is old currently 11 years and the upper deck 8 (restaurants, bars, shop, etc.) looks like just a 11 year old cruise ship. The cabins are practical and the crossing (if the sea is calm), very pleasant. All in all, I would book it again.
"Very fast! "
The name of the ferry says it already, veloci! But you must have seen this big ferry plowing through the sea with yacht speed. Otherwise, the food in the restaurant better than expected and there were also quite decent wines. Happy again.
"Time in expensive cabins and weak cafeteria food "
Compared to other ferry companies upgrade the cabins are considerably overpriced. Cabin to greater cost € 104 and that brought some sqm more but no better equipment. A standard as with the Danish DFDS would be desirable. The clearance at the self-service counter reminded me strongly of a canteen in a large Italian industrial company and the food was not as good as there. Lack of outdoor seating are unacceptable for a crossing that lasts 24 hours.
"ferry "
Poor organization at the embarkation and disembarkation of vehicles. All vehicles travel at the same time. Unfortunately, only very short restaurant opening times.
"Surprisingly nice journey!"
It was my first time using the ferry from Barcelona to Tanger on my car journey to Marrakech. It was a very pleasant journey, quick, well organised and worth repeating! Thank you and see you next time!
"Some good and some bad points"
Our journey from Genoa to Palermo was as we expected. The inbound crossing was different. Boarding was hell. 20 minutes after we were supposed to leave, all the campervans (ours included) were still on the deck and the crew didn't want to let us board. We had to negociate and weren't given any assistance to install the vehicles on board. The boat wasn't the one which was supposed to be used. The vehicle were in open deck and were watered by the sea. The boat was too small for the number of passengers. We left 2.30h late with no explanation or excuse. Some passengers protested, but the staff disclaimed all responsability and said that their job was merely to bring us from Palermo to Genoa. Therefore, we were not satisfied with the services during this crossing.
"An opinion regarding the crossing"
Some comments about the organisation of the crossing aboard the Suprema. Positives: More on less on time (30 minutes +/-) A good choice to eat and relax Negatives: A bit pricey Products on board were too expensive The cabin was not very clean
"All good"
We've been travelling with Grandi Navi Veloci several times and are very satisfied. The boarding and disembarkment happened without a glitch, the garage is spacious and the staff comes with us to show us our cabin. The cabins are clean. The staff is nice and efficient. It's a well oiled system.
"Round trip Genoa-Palermo"
The outbound trip was fine, while on the return we had a h3 delay that caused us many inconveniences. I hope the operator will consider it and will offer us a voucher for the next trip. Romagnoli Leonardo
"Not bad"
We travelled in a cabin. Because there isn't a lot of time between 2 crossings, the cabins are not dusted. It's ok if you don't look too closely. If you don't have a dog, avoid the dog deck, as the smell is not very pleasant. The staff on board was very welcoming. The boat arrived on time.
"A crossing between Genoa and Palermo"
A perfect crossing,we were well settled in our cabin. However, the food and the service could be improved greatly, especially in the garages where the waiting time is too long.
"Unfortunately there's no alternative"
Old ferry, kept in a cheap way, beds are comfortable, the communal toilets are disgusting, food quality is poor and prices very high. The staff on board is impatient and bored. The swimming pool are small and not very clean. Unfortunately, I don't know better solutions to take the car to Sicily from Genoa. If wasn't for the car, I would have travelled for sure by plane. It's not a case that there are no many foreigners on board. Just the greek ferries are worst.
"Very disappointed"
We are disappointed with the service. A 3h delay for the inbound journey and no excuse. Wife and children had to queue on foot. The swimming pool is only open for a very short time. No activities or show. The bedding was far from being clean. And the smell of animal urine was unbearable! We had travelled to Ireland and to Corsica before and the conditions of travel were a lot better.
"M/N Splendid delay "
I am writing regarding the huge delay from Palermo on the 28/08/2013: The M/N departed at midnight and not at h21.00 and arrived in Genoa on the 29/08/2013 at h21.30, instead of h17.00! I wrote to GNV asking for a refund but I didn't receive any reply. The disembarking was not organised: it was a real nightmare, congestions of cars in the garage! For the rest I can't complaint. the trip was pleasant with shows and piano bar. I'm hoping in a better organisation.
"Ticket "
Overall has been a good experience but there are certain things that should be improved. Announces over the intercom should also be done in Spanish, especially if the departure or arrival port is in Spain. Cleanning in common areas like the deck or the bar should also be improved. They should also be more careful with the noises at night that can wake passengers up. They should also be quicker in the embark and disembark stages.
""
The passengers had to vacate their seats 2 hours before arrival and assemble in a particular lounge. Their movements are resstricted (the staircase is blocked). We were still in this crowded lounge half an hour after arrival. It's long and it's unpleasant. The services were correct otherwise.
""
I have been taking this ferry for several years and I am delighted with it. I recommend to book a cabin though.
"GNV Fantastic "
Negative. 4 hours delay cabin and ship were therefore quite dirty because due to the late addition into the port of Genoa was no time for a thorough cleaning on the ship there was outside the cabins too few seats and stay options.. Positive: The staff was friendly and the food good.
"some shortcomings ... "
We are the route 2003 - 2005 driven twice a year and we had to find that much has changed. The cabin especially at the Splendid was a disgrace, she was so dirty that one was bad. From public toilets to mention. The bed linen was broken and dirty. On the return trip to Genoa lacked a pillow and there was also no longer to be found. In addition, at the food counter in the self-service restaurant in the organization is lacking. There was a queue of at least 50 minutes.
""
This journey was conform to our wishes
"18 August 2013 crossing"
We travlled aboard the Fantastic both ways. The state of the cabins was horrific: the toilets weren't clean, there were no towels and the cabin was stinky. The staff isn't nice at all. They should find another job if they don't like theirs!!! The outdoor pool was closed. The price of food was excessive. It's a shame.....
"Too much noise"
Children are running in the corridors until 3am, although there are areas reserved for them.
"Tanger Med Genoa"
For a trip as long as this one I was hoping that the facilities would have been better and the restaurant food prices were too expensive.
"Return trip with GNV"
I've travelled on the 26/07 (outbound) and the 05/08 (return) from GE/PA and PA/GE with GNV, it wasn't the first time, and like always I had a pleasant experience. I always travel on seat, but I have to say that it's comfortable. Nice the welcome on board and good the service offered during the crossing. Goodbye till the next trip.
"a pleasant crossing"
clean boat varied activities very nice staff
"Perfect trip"
Perfect trip, probably because the ferry wasn't full. Crossing really comfortable.
"Journey"
The journey in poltrone is very long and tiring, especially with children. My advice is to book some cabins. Have a nice trip.
"Grandi Navi Veloci"
One of the best trip of my life. It was very confortable! The catering, the cleanliness, the staff, the punctuality, everything was excellent!
"A very good journey"
A very good trip, a clean cabin, a very nice staff. A bit disappointed with the lack of food choice and the pricey drinks.
"Disappointed!"
We travelled aboard the Fantastic to go to Palermo, we were expecting a lot better. The cabin wasn't fresh (there were hair everythere, the flushing system wasn't working, the shower tray was revolting). The pool was dirty and closed. Food and drinks are very expensive, although we paid nearly 1000é for a return trip for two with a car. We came back with La Suprema, it wasn't better. The entertainment which was promised isn't provided. We'll never use this company again.
"Crossing Genoa - Palermo and back "
Staff friendly and helpful, except employees at the bar!
"Boarding Genoa"
It seems wise to let large vehicles board first because of the manoeuvring space on board. At the port of Genoa these vehicles (cars with caravans, campervans and even a hurse) were put in a separate queue and boarded last. Unfortunately the boarding process turned into chaos when the responsible, very young, member of staff lost control of the situation. It was very frustrating having to experience this. Tip: experienced staff to lead the boarding and large vehicles first
"Not happy at all"
A towel for four people in the cabin. No blanket in the bed. An AC which didn't work. The state of the Fantastic keeps on deteriorating. Plus, the arrival in Genoa at midnight with any accomodation booked is a shame. I had to drive 5 hours during the night with my wife and kids. We are not happy at all.
"Genoa-Palermo-Genoa "
Simple and speditives check. Pleasant atmosphere on board. We were completely satisfied and will book again.
"Delay entering Barcelona "
The trip from Genoa to Barcelona was terrible. The organization of a scheduled trip (always at the same time and place) should be easy and undelayed. However, we departed 2 hours late. We could have understood it if they had given me a plausible reason but they only said that the dock was occupied by another ship. The rest of the trip was fairly quiet.
"Return crossing between Genoa and Palermo"
A very good crossing, a very good company, a nice little cruise to start off the holidays. A few points to improve.
"Comment"
Hello. During my travels, I had the opportunity to travel with your company. Aboard the MAJESTIC, the FANTASTIC and the EXCELLENT. The EXCELLENT is, in my opinion, better than the other regarding its configuration, the quality of its meals. It's a bit pricey, but you need to make some margin. However, there could be more things to read in French and more entertaining. Still, I understand that it is not easy with the clientele of the ships. It's fairly clean and I continue to travel with your company.
"Poor prestations"
The ferry crossing takes 2 or 3 hours more than advertised on the ticket (and I am not counting disembarkement which takes an extra hour). The ferry does crossing after crossing and the staff doesn't have enough time to clean the communal areas properly. The cabins and the seats must be vacated 3 hours before the end of the journey, for the staff to able to clean a little bit and the passengers end up in the commun lounges. This ferry shows its age and the Pullman chairs and the toilets are wrecked. The pasta aren't tasty, even though the whole staff is italian. Still, the prices are high (but it's to be expected aboard a ferry). Conclusion: a poor prestation overall
"disaster "
did not meet in any way the promissses of the advertising on the homepage. Never again!
"Bad transport "
I am sorry and I dont want to be xenophobic but all of the seats in Barcelona were occupied with blankets, people, papers and other junk. The ship was coming from Tanger and was transit for a lot of leaders. Everything that used to be elegant like the bars, the swimming pool or the carpets were now very deteriorated and it smelled like feet. We stayed at a cabin that also smelled like feet. The trip that was elegant 5 years ago was in 2013 very bad.
"suggestion "
Too bad that not all offers, areas of the ship were open and operating. Nevertheless, 18 hours crossing. Otherwise, everything's alright.
"Journey from Genova to Palermo of 12/june/2013"
Great Journey I will book from your website again for all my crossings, not just to Sicily.
"Wonderful trip "
I was lucky, the weather was great ... blue sky. The only Thing, not much choice of food and expensive beverages like coke (4 euros) except italian coffee ... :-)
"Advantages of the ferry"
We are an elderly couple (70 and 73 years old) and being able to do the last 1000 km of the trip by ferry has been an absolute comfort. The staff was very kin and helpful. The only problem was thet the screams and games of the kids also travelling in the ferry didn't stop until the midnight. The cabin corridors were more like a park...other than that everything was great.
"Journey from Genua to Palermo vv"
It's a pity and actually unacceptable that there were no deck chairs on deck during the outward journey. This is not nice considering it's a long journey. On the return journey the chairs were put away two hours before arrival. That's also not very welcoming. Aside from that it the journey was fine. Towards the end of the crossing the public toliets are outright dirty. These are not periodically checked, let alone cleaned. This is unacceptable.
"By motorbike to Sicily"
We took the crossing from Genoa to Sicily and would definitely recommend this as a route to the South of Italy. Having never travelled by fries other than P&O we were slightly apprehensive about what to expect but found this was unfounded. Boarding at Genoa was efficient and done in a similar manner to UK based ferries with vehicles loaded in groups and all bikes together. Cabin numbers are in boarding cards and keys are collected from stewards on each deck. We had an outside three birth cabin - paid extra to get the best one we could and so had a double bed and a setter which was all very clean and comfortable. A glance in other smaller cabins showed that they looked fine. Reclining seats are also an option but possibly only for those on a budget as not sure what quality of sleep you would get. The boat has plenty of outside space several bards, a snack bar, self service restaurant and full waiter service a la carte restaurant as the crossing was 20 hours we had the opportunity to try them all - all good. Entertainment is as you would expect on an Italian boat in Italian but we spent an entertaining hour or so watching karaoke and enjoying a very happy holiday atmosphere amongst Italian families heading south for their hols. I suspect we MIT have been the only English people on board. After a very very smooth crossing with the best sleep I've ever had on a ferry we docked in Palermo. Disembarkation is done one deck at a time understandably as it became a bit of a free for all but that proved good practice for hitting the Palermo traffic which was crazy to say the least. All in all very good and would use again
"Mixed"
Outward journey was fine on a beautiful new boat. Return was not so good. An old ship, five hour delay on the way back and late arrival in Genoa.
" Tanger Med and Genoa "
Cleanliness in the cabin was not O.K
"Great ferry crossing"
We chose to catch the ferry from Palermo to Genova instead of driving back through Italy and we were very pleased with our choice. We found it very difficult to find our way through Palermo and we though there could be many bigger and clearer signs through the city. If we hadn't followed a German motor-home we'd never have found the Port!! We were early and so we found the Bighletta office with no problem. The many people who arrived at the last minute drove up to the queue of cars only to be sent all the way back to collect their tickets by the one man on duty. This meant a lot of delay. Again, we thought that good signs would have helped. The boat was great and we had an excellent an spacious cabin - 714. We thought that the self service restaurant could have stayed open longer for breakfast. To close at 9.30 seemed too early when it didn't open again til 1.00 for lunch. All in all a very good experience and we would recommend Grandi Navi Veloci to others.
"Constructive criticism"
For lunch, we had two 9,90€ self-service meal with a bottle of water for 22 euros. I liked this formula. For diner, a bottle of wine without any price on it. An employee opened it before I arrived to the till and I had to pay 54 euros (a bit much). Conclusion: the prices of the meals are affordable, but the wine is overpriced. There used to be bookings with meals included and it was very good this way.
"Ferry Barcelona/Genoa 15/05"
Ship was grubby, restaurant closed just as we boarded, onboard shop opened arbitrarily, food and drink were ridiculously expensive but of reasonable quality, Filipino staff were helpful.
"My view of the trip."
We booked the sitting up seats and having been on the ship before should have thought to ask as this is not a complaint but just and observation. We arrived in the area where our seats were allocated only to find that they were just about all taken up with men going to Morocco, so long haul sailing, they set up camps across the seats on the floor etc. I was the only woman, so I went down to the lounge had some drinks and watched TV. It was an excellent trip and very efficient and clean.
"Unhappy."
I hadn't received my new passport when I made the booking. I had to pay a 50€ fee on the day of the departure, because of this. Moreover, there was not entertainment on the boat during the 24 hours journey.
"Rubbish crossing"
No animations on board. A lounge with a TV in Italian. The front deck lounge was closed, no dancing evenings or afternoon movies. American prices for drinks and food. A sandwich was 4.50€ and the coffee 1.20€. The staff is Chinese or Filipino and only paid 400€ a month by GNV which feeds on everybody 350€ for a car and berth crossing when I used to pay 2,900 dhs with food for 36 hours frome Sète to Tanger. The DUTY FREE is almost as expensive as a supermarket with a discount. The restaurant is open until 1.30am, afterwards you have to leave. We are FAR OFF FROM THE PRESTATION OF THE COMARIT. At the time, the crossing included the berth and the meal.
"Ok, but expensive compared to other ships"
The crossing was perfect but the time lost exiting the ferry at Tangier is poor - almost 4 hours before we get on the motorway.
"Great journey"
Pleasant journey, but the ferry each way was over an hour late. Ferry back was more comfortable than the one we took on the way out.
"5h Barcelona Tangier trip"
Living in Morocco we take the ferry 2 or 3 times a year with GNV. We've always enjoyed the crossing and liked the cabins, but thought there wasn't much to do on board. 2 big issues though. First is exiting the boat by car. Everyone rushes which turns it into a stressful mess. 2nd is the punctuality of the ship as its always at least 2 hours late.
"Very enjoyable trip"
Loading was well organized, beautiful cabin, bar, café and restaurant, swimming pool deck, friendly staff, atmosphere and décor is very appealing.
"With mobile home on the ferry"
My wife and I had a nice journey on the ferry from Barcelona to Genoa.Good food, comfortable beds and a nice memory.
