Martin i Soler
Operated by Balearia
Operated by Balearia on the Barcelona Ibiza, Alcudia Barcelona & Alcudia Ciutadella routes
Launched in 2009, the Martin i Soler is part of the Balearia+ series meaning it's faster, much greener and more luxurious than a conventional ship. Onboard this modern ship you'll find a bar, cafeteria, self service restaurant, a choice of cabins, comfortable seating lounges, children’s play area, luggage lockers, a solarium, swimming pool, games room and a shop.
The Martin i Soler features numerous 4 berth air conditioned en-suite cabins with 2 seat table and wardrobe, 2 double cabins adapted for passengers with reduced mobility and 4 luxury suites with 2 king size beds. All cabins are modern with a minimalistic interior design. This ship also has a 'Neptune' Lounge which is a pre-reserved spacious seating area featuring fully reclining black leather seats and electrical sockets.
The Martín i Soler has several bar and restaurant facilities including a self-service restaurant with something to suit all tastes as well as a Pizzeria. The restaurant offers a children’s menu and low-calorie options. In the summer months there is ice-cream café during the day and chill out bar in the evening.
In the onboard shop you can buy cosmetics, perfumes, chocolates, sweets, clothing, gifts, travel essentials and more.
On the decks there are deckchairs and benches where you can relax and enjoy the crossing as well as a swimming pool with outdoor bar and several relaxation areas. The Martín i Soler also features permanent mobile phone coverage through the SEANET network which provides international satellite coverage (calls carry a surcharge which varies depending on the operator). Wi-Fi is available for a small fee during the crossing too.
Children will not get board during their crossing on the Martín i Soler. There's a dedicated play area for young children and a games room for the older children.
Baleària’s staff members, both on board and on land, are available to assist passengers with reduced mobility however it is advised to mention if assistance is required both when making the reservation and when checking in. There are also lifts connecting all the passenger decks.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Martin i Soler guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

"Worst trip from Ibiza to Barcelona ever"
Spent whole life on and off ferries so know what to expect. Price for day cabin at port €100…no time to decide…price onboard €210. Had to beg staff to fill swimming pool. Wi-Fi was very hard to login to and not free. Request to visit bridge turned down (yes I love ferry boats) but the worst thing was keeping foot passengers trapped for 35 minutes after docking and being forced onto a bus to be taken out of port area. Never had this before, ever - and resulted in arriving at BCN airport after gate closed. Absolutely furious and Balearia are going to get biggest compensation claim they’ve ever seen. Suggest go Grand Navi Veloci or Transmed instead.
"Easy to book with direct ferries "
Easy way to get from Majorca to Spain to drive back to uk
"Not a great experience."
Boarding process seemed quite shambolic. Ended up facing wrong way for off loading on crowded lower deck whilst rest of vessel almost empty. Left almost an hour laste with no reason given. Bumpy crossing and arrived over an hour late in Alcudia. Was asked to reverse a £200K car (with limited rear vision) up a very narrow ramp to off load. Refused and turned car much to staff disgust. Very old ship. Toilets dirty and smelly. LAck of any information or updates on trip.
"Great and comfortable"
took this as an affordable option. We upgraded to first class which was only 3 euros and it was very comfy.
"Ship barcelona to Ibiza"
Highly recommended 👌
"Perfectly on time and efficient"
Great
"Good experience. "
I have travelled a number of times from Barcelona to Ibiza and back. The facilities have improved over the years and appear to be improving all the time.
"Ibiza to Barcelona "
Bad experience, paid for WiFi to do my work and it didn’t work. Staff refused to refund me, ship was dirty and don’t bother upgrading to better seats as half of them don’t recline and are dirty.
"GREAT"
Great crossing ...paella was good ..Sears comftable
"Barcelona to Alcudia return"
Our trip from Barcelona involvedan 8.5 hr delay just for us as they sent our car to the wrong deck and we couldn’t get off at our destination but had to stay on to Menorca and then return to Alcudia. Staff very apologetic and pleasant. Our return trip arrived 1.5 hrs late due to port problems in Barcelona. Otherwisdd we clean comfortable ship and crossings.
"Deadfuk experience with Baleria ferries"
We were one of the first to arrive. However, all cars arriving after us were boarded first. When we were finally boarded - there was not enough space so they parked the cars four abreast instead of three. This meant that we could not get out of our vehcile - but the staff did not seem to care. We lterally had to climb out the windows. Passengers trying to access the deck could not get past our car - literally had to squeeze past - our car has several deep scratches as a result. When we finally made it on deck and to reception - the Neptune lounge with sleeping seats was full - and even though this is what we had paid for - the staff could only apologise and our reservation could not be honored. There was a complete disrgard for health and safety and passenger dignity with regards to the parking.
"We could not travel and didn't get an answer for your mail-request"
Because of the covid virus we were not allowed to travel to spain an do take the ferrie. We have tried to cancel the booking, because no body comming form germany was able to take the ship. Till today there was no response to your twice mail-request to Direct Ferries. This is not ok. Is there any possibility to get the money for the trip back? Its not your fault, that we could not go the ship. This is a very special situation in Europe at the moment an I hope your company is handling this in a customer-friendly way. I hope to here very soon from you.
"Boat Trip"
Balearia very helpful in changing date of crossing due to Spanish government closing down Catalonia due to Coronavirus. Also did not charge extra
"Neptune Lounge"
We are regular travelers on the Ciutadella to Barcelona ferry, as usual we booked the Neptune lounge for the extra legroom and bigger seats for the 9 hour journey. The TV was put on to show the safety warning, and we expected after the last couple of trips for it to be switched to show the ships journey, or switched off, what we did not expect was for a DVD to be played, fine, the volume was OK, but part way through the journey the sound was turned up to an extreme level, when i asked to have it turned down to an acceptable level, i was told by a member of staff from reception, to tell the other person in the lounge i wanted it lowered. it was like the Spanish staff favored the Spanish clients speakers on the ferry. We asked again to have the volume turned down, once the majority of the people had left the ship, but our request was ignored, we don't normally have a problem on the crossing, but i can only assume due to the previous days ship being cancelled due to weather, this crossing was over subscribed. All in all a good crossing apart from the minor TV problem.
"Stolen coat "
Wife left coat in restaurant on back of chair. Went back,,, it was gone. Not handed in. I hope whoever took it needs it more than my wife does. Karma will do the rest.
"It was ok"
My crossing was fine, but I do not like to have to put my dog in a cage during the crossing. Other lines are dog friendly why can you not be as well?
"End of September travel"
I paid for recliner seats...a number of them didn’t work. I would recommend fixing or indicate with signage they are broken. Two of the ladies washroom facilities were out of order. Staff were courteous.i didn’t eat on board but was happy to see there were vegan and vegetarian options.
"Poor service "
Very poor with aggressive crew. I will never use Balearia again and I will not recommend it to anyone
"Trip to Alcúdia "
Very pleasant trip, easy access via escalator, space available for luggage, opportunity to use the outdoor space on Martin i Soler & relax.
"Ferry away"
It was a pleasant trip from Ciutadella to Barcelona on the ferry. I enjoyed being able to walk around inside and outside. It was very clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly.
"Excellent "
Really good trip. We were travelling with two bike boxes but the staff were excellent and helped us board and disembark easily. Food was good and great value for money. Definitely recommend it between Alcúdia and Barcelona. We booked a seat in the Neptune lounge which was so comfortable and spacious. Well worth the cost.
"Trip Ciutadella Alcudia "
Nice trip
"Watch out if travelling by van!"
Sailed from Barcelona to Menorca. Martin I Soller boat is old and dark. Feels very dated. Only was able to buy food and drink by card whilst the ship was in port. After that they have no ways of charging. This is 2018! Got a cabin which was hideously hot. It was small and tidy enough but was so hot it was totally unbearable. Would have been better to stay in a seat. I had a friend drive down to Menorca in a van to bring me a kitchen and a few other bits in my house. At BCN Balearia staff asked to look in the van which of course was fine to do, but then they said there was too much stuff in it and that one was only allowed a couple of suitcases per person and refused boarding unless he paid €400 in cash! They said it was cargo therefore had to pay a surcharge. WHAT??? It's a van! Of course it may be full! Total rip off- I can just about understand there may be charge for commercial goods to sell on, but this was my personal stuff. I am going to complain formally to them this week.
"no cabins again!"
Every time we travel on this vessel there are no cabins!!!!!! - the First class seats are uncomfortable and lights switching on & off and announcements disturb what little sleep one can get. We shall use Transmed in future
"Barcelona to palma"
The quality of the ship is v old and the cabins are well past their best.... ... toilet roll holder handing off , shower head wouldn’t stay up.... and more
"Great"
It was a nice change for us moving from one island to the other instead of through airports. Nice seating and had a cafe open which was not to expensive. The ride also was smooth with great views
"Luxury!"
Like a mini holiday. Lots of seating/sunbathing options Swimming pool good restaurant etc.
" Ciutadella to Barcelona "
Generally ok but very stressful parking my car with very tight access and limited space guided by staff not speaking English. Also I don’t understand why my wife was made to get out of our car and walk on board while I drove the car on. It would have been so much easier if she was allowed to remain in the car.
"My First Sailing with Balearia"
Having boarded the ship, there was no English speaking personnel to be found and the announcements were in Spanish and indecipherable English. Many of the doors were padlocked and during the voyage some of the ones that were open onto the outside decks had been locked. When I asked about this, I was told it was for door repairs, none of which happened during the voyage. This constitutes a risk to life in the event of an emergency, especially if there are English passengers who can’t understand the announcements. This is a disaster waiting to happen.l
"Alcudia to barcelona"
Really great service perfect if ypu dont like flying
"Dire, Simply Dire "
What can I say good about this crossing? Possibly the only thing is the speed of the disembarkation. I'll start the negative stuff at home. The ticket was booked through direct ferries and wasn't cheap. I paid for a larger cabin with the expectation that it would be A) Outside B) Nice, I'll come to those once we've boarded the vessel. I received confirmation from Direct Ferries and shortly before the journey I had an email advising me that I could save time by checking in online. Balaeria on the other hand said no, I must go to the check in desk. "Which desk" I asked them (two are listed for Barcelona), "I don't know, I'm in Denia" was the unhelpful reply. Oh well, Google earth found me one place which happened to be the right one.......Google clearly knows more than Balearia staff. Let's move to the port now. I managed to find some parking (a huge underground car-park right by the check in desk) and I went in and checked in. The lady said, park at Teminal C after 7pm. OK, I turned up at terminal C at 7pm only to find it had been moved to Termianl B,not a major issue as they are close by. We then waited, and waited, and waited. Then at the last possible moment we were taken in convoy to a completely different dock about 2 miles away. It was farcical. Are you still with me on this horror story? Well, let's move onto the ship. We were parked up and made our way to the reception. Now, I use ferries quite a lot and I'm used to helpful staff in clean uniforms. Not here. Greeted by a guy who simply pointed to reception. You see, although you've already checked in you've not been allocated your room or it's key, unlike Stena or Brittany Ferries. So, another queue now at 23:00 this time for a rather unhelpful lady who clearly didn't want to be there and was making that fact rather obvious. The key was duly handed over and I made my way to the room, expecting something clean, tidy with a window. What I found was a dirty cabin, peeling paint on walls in corridors and an inside cabin which frankly, I was loathe to sleep in. Oh, and no air conditioning as it was broken on a warm night on the med, lovely! No bar, no food, nothing to eat or drink anywhere. Just a single bottle of water in a 4 berth cabin left on the side! I slept fitfully in my clothes on the top of the bed. At 5:45am someone walked up and down the corridor tapping on the doors giving us a rather rude awakening. Now, this part isn't the fault of the staff, but my wife left her Google Tablet either in the room or on a table while we were waiting to disembark. We didn't find out until later and contacted Balaeria straight away using their web contact form. I still have not heard a peep from them. Yet a member of staff will have found it in the room if it was there and almost certainly a member of staff will have found it on a table! Sorry for the long and often rambling review. But I want other travellers to be fully aware of what they're paying for if they use this crossing. Rich
"Ferry trip lovely..."
Be warned there is along walk from the ferry building to the ferry itself especially with luggage! But the crossing itself is really nice and tales lessthan two hours in good weather. The cafe was pretty small with not much choice, the larger one upstairs was closed as there were not that many passengers. In summer I guess it would be better stocked but people in the know had taken picnics with them. A different way to island hop and fun if you have plenty of time.
"Ferry trip Barcelona to alcudia"
Lovely smooth sailing for the night ferry, nice and comfortable first class leather seating. Unfortunately only one sailing a day that takes 6 hours at night arriving at 4 am, and the restaurant below , is not separated from the first class sleeping seats, so noise can be heard from restaurant and adults with children should have a separate area, as we had babies crying incessantly throughout the journey.
"Never again"
This was the worst experience ever. the escalator stopped as I was boarding the ship and I fell down. Blood and cuts everywhere. Terrible emergency care but Even worse the crew was so worried about insurance and that I would sue that they lied on the incident report and said I wasn’t holding on to the escalator handles. Like a woman who gets raped because she is wearing a short skirt. When I got to Barcelona I asked for a refund for my return trip (Which I did NOT take) and was told I had to go to doctor to get a report before I could get a ticket refund. Total bull as though the blood on the escalator and all over me wasn’t enough. I flew home from Barcelona in total disgust. I will never use your ferry service again, and you owe me a refund for my return trip. Find your integrity. Stop being so worried about being sued for your faulty escalator and treat a passenger with respect.
"just another ferry"
Departed early and arrived early. Odd requirement for car passengers to board separately with the foot passengers, and undergo a bag search yet drivers were not searched. Most ferries don't do this. Good choice of catering on board, not expensive. We did book for the Neptune class up front but preferred the regular seats as it was quieter - but only a few of these have nearby power sockets. I expect we benefited from the relatively low number of fellow travellers mid week, early May. The public announcements were not audible from cabins, in fast Spanish with barely distinguishable and briefer English versions, but seasoned ferry goers will have no problem working out what's going on. The Balearia disembarkment point in Barcelona does involve a rather slow process as there are traffic lights seemingly nearly always at red on the feeding road to the main Avenue, so factor this in. Grimaldi lines doesn't have this hurdle.
"Winter trip"
Travelled over on the 25th from Barcelona to Ciutadella. The journey was good and 1st class seats comfortable enough to sleep in. Food and drinks reasonably priced. Only downfall was I was unaware that the ferry went via Alcudia, announcements wake you up when trying to sleep.
"Annual trip"
We have travelled this route a number of times now. We find it to be the best route across the Med to Mallorca.
"Very good trip "
Always reliable actually arrived an hour early, much easier now we can print boarding passes
"A very satisfacory and comfortable ferry crossing."
A large and well equipped ferry, giving a very smooth crossing. Staff were helpful. It would be better if actual seats were allocated when you checked in. There was some confusion as to which seats were taken, and which seats weren't. There should be additional/better dinning facilities than just the self service cafeteria, which was only open for 2 hours during a 9.5 hour crossing (there was a bar with snacks open for the whole crossing).
"Trip on Martin i Soler"
We boarding was chaotic but organised at the same time and we departed on time. We had an outside cabin which was very dated, everything was old and showing signs of wear the hooks for the curtain tie backs we hanging loose out of the wall (all of them). The bathroom was not very clean, the toilet brush was filthy. We went to the restaurant and had burger and chips which was awful rubbish cheap burger and all was cold (none of the food looked nice) we should have walked away. Parking ok and the ship was on time.
"One day Med cruise "
Loved the ship and trip! More like a one day cruise than point to point translation!
"Barcelona and Alcudia with Balearia on the Martin i Soler"
The best ferry I have had the pleasure of traveling on ever ,clean, punctual, excellent value for money and great service
"Unpleasant journey"
The recent journey on the ferry was very unpleasant. Despite paying more for a seat in the so called 1st class neptuno lounge, I got no rest whatsoever and was awake all night due to the fact that the lounge is right next to the side door of the kitchen. The staff spent hours moving rubbish noisily, laughing and talking very loudly with no consideration for people trying to sleep. This crossing seems to be favourable to truck drivers and not regular passengers.
"Unfortunate experience "
The outgoing ferry with Balearia was very good, smooth ride, nice ferry. On the other hand the return with the other company, very old ship, not tidy at all. Upon arrival I headed down to get the car and the inside of the staircase was wet, the rug covering the staris was very wet, the edges of the stairs the metal was so worn down that I slipped and went down twice hitting myself on the back and my right arm heavily. Fortunately, no other passengers at that time were injured and I did not suffer from any fractures but it was a severe blow because of the water inside. I wonder what kind of maintenance these ferries get. Never travel with them again. Please tell them to fix it.
"Ferry trip from barcelona to mallorca "
Really happy with trip. No problems. Smooth crossing. Only problem takes six and half hours, with only one ferry a day. So very difficult to book hotels etc, as you land at such aquward times.
"Ships good but process of ticketing / boarding is poor"
After booking it was i possible to print the boatding passes, Iberia did not answer the phone and there was concern if we could actually board the ship. Vessel and facilities are good but the process is poor
"Terrible experience at sea with Spanish ferry"
The worst crossing I have ever has at sea. The 2 guys organising what cars get on first at Barcelona were awful with zero planning and organisation skillls and fairness who had been waiting the longest. Ship was dirty and lacked general hygiene with all toilets overflowing before we set off and did not get fixed during yourney. Quiet areas were full of crying babies and infants. Never again in July or August!
"Pleasant trip"
Nice trip. Good facilities. Friendly staff. On time.
"Our return trip to Menorca"
Parking expensive in Barcelona,25 euros for about 5 Hours, but very convienient for ferry,Check in was ok,Cabin nice on overnight crossing,Facilities good on board,I would use Baleria on every trip
"Menorca/ Majorca "
Excellent service and experience. Professional and enjoyable.
"Ex excellenf service"
Easy check in ferry left on time arrived on time frjendly staff will use you next time
"First experience on the Balearia Martin I Soler"
Great trip. Easy boarding process. Comfortable seating, a pleasurable journey , overall good value for money
"Ferry Service Ciutadella to Barcelona"
Email received saying sailing had moved back an hour, lucky for us got to the Ferry on time only to find this wasn't the case. Food was cold and I mean cold, brussel sprouts and spam which I was told was Pork Food from supplier had not been delivered prior to sailing so no sandwiches just a few cakes Been charged twice on my duty free, now trying to get a refund!! Announcements meaning little sleep Deck area was filfthy with litter
"Not pleasant. "
The information provided about when to check-in was completely incorrect or just not straightforward at all. It says the last check-in is at 9am since the ferry leaves at 10am. Thinking I have to get there before 9am, I get there with plenty of time. However, when I get there, they tell me I have to wait until 9am when the first check-in occurs. That was completely unclear and made the trip very frustrating. The crew was also not helpful at all when I asked about public transportation on the island. They had absolutely no idea, which I found shocking since it seems like information a crew for a ferry to Alcudia should know.
"1st Class all the way"
A different way to arrive in Mallorca but very enjoyable. We had a road trip from Sheffield England down to Barcelona so we we're glad we spent the small amount extra to upgrade to the comfortable reclining chairs in the 1st area.....priceless
"Trip of a lifetime"
Stormy water, great feeling, terrible sleeping
"Trip from Barcelona to Menorca"
We very much enjoyed the trip both ways, from barcelona to Ciutadella and return, The staff where very attentive and helpfull for my wife needs and assistance, very much appreciated. Also very puntual.
"A relaxing way to travel "
We enjoyed a relaxing day traveling from Cuitadella to Bacelona. We could have chosen the fly but that would have meant catching buses to and from the airports by taking the ferry we were able to walk. Our seats were large and comfortable and we were able to chose from various areas in which to sit incluing a movie area. We spent a fair part of the journey on deck relaxing on sun lounges. The only thing that marred the trip for me was we didn't realise when the cafeteria was closing and just misssed out on buying food from there. We were able to buy food from the bar at the reat of the ferry but as l am gluten intoletant they were not real options for me. It would be better if there had a packaged salad or fruit available. I would travel wiyh direct ferries again and recomend it as a wonderful experience.
"Sailing Alucida - Barcelona "
A really enjoyable experience with entertainment and activities such as the swimming pool and a great burger bar upstairs.
"good trip "
Good way to get to the island.faster than transmed. Bit of confusion at Barcelona.but otherwise good.loading spot on.
"Pleasent"
Staff on these boats are very helpful and efficient which helps to make the journey a pleasure.
"Nice Trip"
Me and my family were very happy while travelling with the ships of direct ferries from Barcelona to Ciutadella and back again. We enjoyed the food on board and especially the soft seats in the Neptun class. The personal was friendly and helpful. The orientation was a bit difficult, because some stairs were closed outside
"Ferry between Minorca & Mallorca "
Booked on the Internet 1 mouth before trip not told we had to be there an hour before sailing went on the next ferry an hour later cost us an extra 20 euros not happy !
"Good crossing...big improvements in Balearia facilities and staff attitudes"
Very good crossing, smooth and uneventful. Everything went smoothly checking in and staff were very polite and extremely helpful, which is a big improvement from previous trips. We stopped using Balearia for some time because they just made things difficult, but what a transformation now. They couldn't do enough to help and were very accommodating at all times. Glad they have pulled their socks up, they must have lost a lot of business to Acciona. We always travel with our dog and in the past they did not give any thought to the transport of animals, and this was very stressful to both the animal and the owners. Glad to say this has changed and pets are kept in a secure area under lock and key. Would definitely use Balearia again now they have improved. Well done Balearia!!!
"Trip from Minorca to Majorca"
Very pleasant, efficient and speedy trip. I enjoyed the experience very much.
"Skimming the med"
Comfy seats, plenty of space and decent facilities should have made this trip a pleasure. Unfortunately due to some nefarious neighbouring nocturnal snoring activities we arrived in Ciutadella rather exhausted. If Godzilla had not been asleep next to us I think the tori would have got 5 stars. Good way of convincing passengers to hire a private cabin!
"Balearic ferry"
Fantastic trip lovely shil well worth going first class especially for a cabin. Can't recommend it enough. Made the trip really enjoyable
"Safety"
We were very pleased with the ease with which we booked on line our ferry crossing from Barcelona to Cuitadella. Our cabin was clean and comfortable and the crew were polite and helpful. However these considerations did not register at the time as I was very distraught at having my hand bag stolen from the car when I went in to the Balearia Terminal to book in while my husband was waiting outside with the car and our dog. Naturally I was distraught and reported the theft to the staff in the terminal who were completely uninterested and only said "if your passports are gone you cannot travel". I was crying and a member of staff came to the counter with a handful of tissues but instead of offering them to me as I thought she was going to she proceeded to clean her keyboard with them. Fortunately I had had our passports with me when I went in to the terminal to collect our tickets prior to boarding so these were the only things I didn't lose but my money, credit cards, phone and any number of personal items are now gone forever. We have since heard of all manner of similar horror stories and experienced travellers have advised us to always park in the embarking area of the terminal rather than outside when booking in as this is safer. I would suggest that travellers are made aware of the risk of robbers in the Port area and that the designated embarking area is either shown on the confirmation of the booking or e mailed to the traveller prior to their departure.
"Comfortable trip between Maiorca and Menorca"
Nixe is the doublebody fast ferryboat (1,5 h), Martin/Soler the big ship with 7 boards (2,0 h). Tickets and trip without any troubles.
"Direct Ferries Customer Service"
Journey was perfect. (Menorca-Barcellona) I realized late that if you book with the operator you could save money. Before the departure I contacted the Direct Ferries costumer service, asking informations about the online check in with Baleari, because one code called NDI was missing, than I realized that it was the number of the document added when I booked. The lady of the customer service told that it was not possible to do the check in onlinte because I bought the ticket with them and I was supposed to go directly to the ticket office at the port, but it was enough to insert the id number together with the booking number. I can understand the incompetece but I cannot tolerate negligence. If I had listened to them I would have lost a lot of time for the check in. If they don't know the procedures they should be sorry and hush, and don't give wrong informations. Baleari excellent, Direct Ferries just enough.
"I recommend!"
Booking, payment, the ship and all the trip was a big pleasure. I strongly recommend!
"Barcelona-Ciutadella round trip"
It was not easy to rest on the night outbound trip, even in a 1° class seating, also the stop at 4:45 am at Alcùdia interrupted a rest already poor because of kids presence not really inclined to sleep, I will recomend the cabin!!The return trip during the day was more pleasant, even if you lose the day, the time goes nicely because of the differnt services on board, like bar, pool, shops.
"Relaxing time."
We had lovely, 2hours of sailing from Menorca to Majorca on a very clean ship.
"FERRY TO ALCUDIA"
All good, except the loading at Barcelona, which was slow and chaotic, and at Alcudia on the way back, which was slow.
"Barcellona ciuttadella "
It was a good journey and we are going to travel again with Balearia.
"A great way to travel"
We travelled overnight to Alcudia and had a cabin. The return was during the afternoon and we were very comfortable and enjoyed a good meal. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The early call at 04:30 was not good, but necessary. Staff were helpful and friendly and the service was punctual. Definitely better than travelling by air.
"Felt like personal service"
We were handled very nicely and quickly in a very confusing atmosphere which made it very useable. All personnel were very helpful and accommodating. Thank you
"Very good service but be careful"
Lovely, efficient crossing, but on exiting the port at Barcelona, we had our tyre slashed and were robbed when we pulled into repair it. We made a police statement and apparently gangs on small motorbikes are targeting foreign number plates, when you get to traffic lights they have spikes on their shoes, slash your tyre and then alert their colleagues further up the road! Ferry service was excellent but this has put us off using this crossing again.
"A nervous sailor."
The experience of travelling with Balearia as opposed to Iscomar between Cuitadellaa and Alcudia is so much better. We had quite a rough crossing on our return journey, the ferries hadn't run the day before, but I dread to think what the Iscomar would have been like. All in all a very pleasant experience .
"Trip to Menorca"
Enjoyed the trip sailing to both islands with calm seas and beutifull views of the sunshine and a faraway view of storm and litgning.
"Excellent overnight sail."
We travelled as foot passengers on the overnight ferry between Barcelona to Ibiza on Wednesday 10th September. Everything from check in at the port to service, help and cabin allocation on board was very efficient. Our cabin was clean and comfortable. We didn't eat on board but did use the bar and found prices very reasonable.
"Fly versus float"
We were going to fly from Ibiza to Barcelona, however, we decided to save a 500 euros and take the ferry. Turned out to be a great decision. Although it took longer than a flight would have it was a great experience and was a lot of fun. I would choose the same method again.
"sufficient"
for an 8 hours crossing there are enough services but they should clean more.
"very good crossing"
A few days ago we travelled on the Balearia Ferry. We were accommodated in the Neptune class and we were amazed by the quality of the seats. They are great, very comfortable. At the return we booked a cabin and we also were surprised that the cabin was spacious and immaculately clean. We were very pleased.
""
The ferry was good and there is nothing wrong in general. The only thing was that on the outbound we had to book lobby bar, because there were not other accommodation available and during the night the seats are very uncomfortable to sleep. On the return, we booked seats in the Neptuno Lounge and it was marvelous. These seats are comfortable, spacious reclinable almost completely ... Amenities in general (cafeteria, restaurant, ...) good although there were few staff and the waiting time to be served was long.
"Crossing Alcudia - Barcelona"
The staff is friendly and the ferry departs and arrives on time, with some delays when leaving the ship. I recommend you that you book Neptune seats as they are very comfortable and will make the journey more enjoyable.
"Martin Soler"
All services very good and a very pleasant short journey
"Summer2014"
Good value for money
"Wonderful trip to Mallorca"
The trip went well. Especially the return which was very quick. Good service. Only, the burger on deck wasn’t tasty. It should have been left a little longer on the grill.
"Good ferry operator"
We had a pleasant crossing with Balearia. The reclining seats were very comfortable.
"Annual trip to mallorca"
For the first time we booked to travel to Alcudia rather than to Palma from Barcelona for two reasons, the price and the journey time (6.5 hrs instead of 8 hrs) The ferry (Martin I Soler) had a lot more to offer than the other ferries we have travelled on. The outward journey was over night and we only booked a serena seat but a Neptune seat would have been a lot more comfortable, the return journey was during the afternoon. We would certainly recommend this ferry and journey. Our only comment is we dont understand why only the driver is allowed to travel on board with the car.
"VERY GOOD"
it was perfect , a relaxing return
"Great trip"
What a gorgeous way to get to Minorca. The ferry was on time and very smooth. Easy boarding and disembarking. Plenty of space on board and great views. An enjoyable experience.
"Travel to Formentera"
The double cabin very comfortable. Lack of information from the crew. The Neptuno seat, most of them don't work properly
"A crossing between Barcelona and Alcudia"
We had a cabin for the outbound crossing, the installations were good, for the inbound journey we had seats, which were well equiped as well. A good overall impression.
"A beautiful crossing"
The crossing was very pleasant, the reception was good. The cabin and the confort were confortable. It's a pity that the staff cannot speak French. There's a lack of road markings to get to the ferry terminal. It's still a very good memory.
"Easy & relaxed"
Travelled 'Neptuno' class overnight from Barcelona to Ibiza - very comfortable seats which reclined almost to flat, plenty of room on the ship & a smooth boarding/disembarking process. No complimentary snacks/drinks as mentioned on the Balearia site, but the ship didn't appear to be full and no checks between the classes indicated they were not checking. Had booked the day before and paid same price as standard, so overall a good experience.
"very good"
Very happy
"Barcelona-Ibiza-Barcelona on the Martin i Soler"
The ferry is just ordinary with a place to eat, drink, seat/sleep, sundeck and a pool. What I didn't like is that people, who might be traveling without a seat, occupied the lounge that should be used for people talking and kids playing, and instead that they disturbed us, trying to sleep, in our seating lounge.
"Well organised"
Crossing on Tuesday 18.06.14 from Barcelona to Port d'Alcudia. Departure at 11pm instead of 10pm. Despite the storm, everything went smoothly. Thankfully, we had booked a first class cabin (neptune), so we were able to have some sleep, because the rest of the boat was noisy.
"passenger with vehicle"
It was very good without any setback, I'll do it again surely.
"Satisfied"
Crossing with Balearia aboard the Martin Soler, the facilities are correct, the AC was a bit strong during the inbound crossing (you needed a jacket)
"a perfect crossing"
the cabin was perfect
"Getting a ticket"
It would probably be possible to improve the booking website and make the operations quicker: choice of the line, informations regarding passengers (why do you ask for age), information about the vehicles (make and brand) which are not always useful (cars almost always have the same dimensions). Opt for a font which is easier to read.
"a pleasant crossing"
A problem free crossing. The only problem was the quality of the paella. I had better during other crossings. See you soon as I'm crossing several times a year.
"Congratulations - top ship!"
Apart from the long waiting at the port, the crossing was excellent..
"delay "
We not only had to wait four hours but were also not informed about when the ferry arrives - very annoying
"A beautiful crossing"
Second crossing with Balearia. Congratulations. The ferry left at 10am, there was no problem neither at boarding nor at disembarkment. It was perfect.
"Hopelessly late departure of Barearia "
Our ship is without comment from anyone what's going on expired more than 1 hour late! Delay can occur even once, but more than 1 hour! and no information why neither before nor during boarding is really not okay. Really can not be recommended. we will avoid the Balearia for next time.
"Crossing with the WOMO Algeciras - Tanger Med "
friendly uncomplicated - recommended.
"Great walk "
An impeccable trip with great views. Also very punctual. Congratulations on the new and well-kept boats.
"barcelone alcudia"
Quick boarding, nice staff, clean ferry, reasonably priced meals
"Excellent service "
The facilities in the boarding area are very good. The ferry is very comfortable and there is punctuality in the services.
"Next time I don't travel with Balearia "
We departed 30 minutes late and the sandwiches in the bar were awful. The return was terrible. The ferry was supposed to leave at 6pm but we didn't do it until 8pm. Nobody gave us any sort of explanation and we felt abused.
"Time "
You waste a lot of time in the departure and arrival to the port, and it never leaves in time. Otherwise, it was good.
"Christmas in Morocco "
Crossing Balearia Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! It would be better to have at the entrance to the grounds to the line Balearia a sign. For stand at Christmas Hundreds, for all lines and in the end you have to change. Is not easy, but thanks to the friendly staff of Balearia well done. Although we had 1.5 hours delay but it was the customs debt. Maybe Balearia should better cooperation with the local authorities go. Because there is no time for it, we have it, for example, then just to Airport managed. Thanks anyway for the good and safe voyage!
"bathroom "
The ship lay in outward about an hour late starting, on the way back well over an hour late. The further travel connections by bus from Algeciras could not be reached. There was no information from the crew of the reason for the delays. On the way back unfriendly treatment by the crew had to be seen as a personal demand was started because of the delays. The hygiene in the toilets left much to be desired (odor), and some toilets were unusable.
"satisfaction"
Very good, apart for a 1/2h delay
"Be more punctual !"
Service not great, really expensive and the durtaion of the disembarking procedure at the arrival was long. The ship was not so clean either.
"Tangiers to Algeciras"
Since Morocco have rebuilt their ferry terminal i must say that travel between the two ports is relatively easy, having used the old and new ports things have improved many fold. Direct ferries booking was easy, no problems with ticket application and reception. If travelling from Tangiers, get there early and locate the relevant ticket office, many thanks, fairly easy journey.
"Trip from Tangier Med to Algeciras"
Great trip. Make sure you go to Tangier Med - not Tangier - to catch this ferry. That was a little confusing and Google maps does not show this route at the very northern tip of Morocco. Trip went perfect.
"Good cost-performance ratio for a crossing by car "
There are no cabins, but relatively comfortable reclining chair in the first class for the night (affordable). The ship and the sanitary facilities are pleasantly clean. I would always travel in 1st class, because there in the front part of the ship is too noisy until late at night the staff locked access to 1st class. Until that point, there were some strange people walking around. The access and driveway on the ship are not clearly signposted and linguistically specified exactly. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful, not to understand announcements in English. The staff was rarely seen during our crossing; the clarity of the signs left to be desired. Shortly before the arrival of both Spaniards and foreign passengers was not clear what led outputs to the car (it was issued by a speaker call to go to the cars, but there were no signs and all exits were locked.) Summary: Good nerves and flexibility are helpful; overall inexpensive way to get the car to Menorca.
"Ferry Barcelona / Ibiza "
Signs to the departure port, both in Barcelona, as well as in Ibiz: not existing Meals on the ship: insufficient Signs on the ship, where you go to the cars where pedestrians: bad
"Menorca Car "
The outward journey on the Martin i Soler was very nice. You could sit outside and enjoy it really. Downhill very punctual, 5 minutes ahead of time. Return to the Ramon Llull was a little less spectacular, because you could not get out. And inside was the air conditioning full pot, so that we have properly frozen.
"1st class seat"
The crossing went very well, although I prefer night crossings. However, I didn't like that passengers with regular tickets invade the first class areas. We had to wait 5 hours after departure until someone come to control them and drive them away. However, they came back half an hour later...In conlusion, it's expensive and you cannot rest...
"A different trip "
Every time I have travelled to a different country or done a long distance trip I have done it by plane, but with the ferry I have discovered a way of making it more special. I really enjoyed this trip and choosing the Neptuno seat was the best option. On top of everything, you can take as much luggage as you want and that for a girl is great...
"Balearia Barcelone/Ibiza and return"
I'm satisfied with both crossing, thanks.
"Dissatisfied! "
Get wrong seat, it was totally loud and cold! The staff was rude and talked to us in an inapropiate way, the seats were old and dirty, this is the money really is not worth it!
"A good journey"
A good crossing both during the day and during the night. On time…And travelling in September means a smaller crowd which is a plus!
"Report"
Poor treatment from the staff. The staff doesn't care about their clients. We are only an item to transport… The staff was late for the opening of the cafeteria and for seeing the animals put in a cage. The disembarkment and the access to the vehicles were badly organised.
"A fantastic trip"
It was our first trip aboard a ferry. We have a kid in a wheelchair, but out journey went well. The personn we booked the tickets over the phone with was very kind. The access to the ferry with the car was good. There was a lift to go to the deck where the seats were. There was a space to store the wheelchair. We'll renew the experience again. Thanks DIRECTFERRIES & BALEARIA
"crosssing to Ibiza "
The daily ferry haas improved regarding to quality and some staff-members working with more effort, no comparison to crossings back in the days.
"Super crossing ... "
Although I was one hour (or two?) Longer on board because of a stop in Menorca was this crossing best so far! Gracias ...
"Menorca ferry"
Travelled as a family of 5 with one 4yr old and one elderly lady with walking difficulties. Ferries departed on time and embarkation at both ports was organised. Disembarkation back at Alcudia in Mallorca was confusing as the notification to return to your cars was not easily audible and the English recoding was cut off.The signage for the correct exit door for the cars was also confusing. in Menorca assistance was provided to transfer the elderly member of the group to the car park area as there is a long walk from the dockside to the car holding area if you don't get in the cars on the ferry for disembarkation. Overall a pleasant way to travel between the Balearic Islands
"Everything was working fine"
The trip was perfect.
"Peaceful"
A noisy, but perfect crossing
"Difficult to eat"
For a day crossing, there wasn't a big choice for food and drinks (2 of the 3 bars are closed), the wait was awful. The opening hours of the cafeteria are limited and the line is endless. Once you get your tray, there are no seats. You need to review this.
"Crossing to Mallorca - Alcudia "
We drove from Barcelona 3 weeks prior to Alcudia. Unfortunately, the information previously sent were very sparsely. So I knew that we no later than 90 minutes before closure must be there by car, but I had no idea where. I then searched the internet and had me at the end or by asking something that is a bit annoying when you're running late. Then we had booked the Neptune-seats. In the pictures all looked really great, but in reality everything looked very old and dirty. We have, as they have pretty disgusted at the leather armchairs geklabt. In addition, it was very cold and the air conditioning has drawn. The staff was very rude and food and drinks were not appealing. In the morning you were woken up when the ferry in Menorca has made a stopover. This would not be so bad if the same announcement would not be made 50 times. It would also be helpful to make an announcement for the people with cars, because one does not knows when to be where. Overall, the ride was ok and it has also everything works, but our expectations were a little higher also because of the price and pictures.
"all good except the food "
The lunch menu you can save yourself - Hospital canteen level.
"Bac-Ibiza "
Night driving ok day-drive bit long Trash should also be emptied times in between!!
"Great experience"
Taking the ferry was a great experience. Paid little extra to get first class and was very worth it on a 9 hour ferry ride. Had shops, a bar, a pool, and movies playing. Was very comfortable.
"Barcelone <-> Ciutadella"
The boarding and disembarkment of vehicles and of passengers is poorly organised. The boat is always 1/2h late Would I recommend it to a friend? Balearia is the only company for Ciutadella.
"Barcelona-Alcudia"
Night crossing, very confortable cabins. A good night. Inbound trip during the day. A good crossing despite an agitated sea. A good timekeeping.
"Ibiza Barcelona"
Everything went well. It's a shame that there are no French translation aboard.
"Excellent trip"
We were promptly advise about a schedule change (call+email). The ferry was on time. I wasn't completely satisfied about the food on board, but maybe Italians have an high expectation regarding the cuisine... I also think they should improve the cleanness on board (consider that on both journeys the ferry wasn't full) Overall it was a good value for money.
"ferry crossing"
A GREAT COMPANY REALLY PLEASED WITH ALL ASPECTS OF MY JOURNEY BOTH WAYS, BEST FERRY COMPANY I HAVE USED, WILL USE THEM AGAIN ALSO GREAT PRICE, IF YOU NEED A FERRY TO MALLORCA USE BALEARIA THEY ARE THE BEST.
"A very good journey"
Good
"Martin I Soler"
A very good prestation. A confortable cabin. A very pleasant staff. We've been travelling with this company for years.
""
a good journey, a good service, a good organisation
"Crossing Alcudia - Barcelona "
In short, it was a hammer, so beautiful!-Thank you for the wonderful cabin!
"One Way OK, return uncomfortable - not because of weather "
Places to ride Barcelona - Alcudia sufficiently available, a lot of noise as just the beginning of school holidays and many happy, sometimes considerably drunken teenagers on the ship. Crossing Palma - Barcelona closely enough seating place, rude staff at the car. small outdoor areas entirely occupied by smokers.
"Jaume 1 end Martin i Soler"
Both ferries were on time. Cabin on Neptuno was quieter than the rest of the ship. Nice chairs in the cabin. Catering was minimal. It was possible to purchase rolls during the outward journey, but on the way back the restaurant was only open for 2 hours and it was very busy. The shop has pretty much sold out all of it's food and drinks.
"Barcelona Ciutadella"
We had booked seats for our outbound journey from Barcelona to Ciutadella. However, we had to travel on the floor, because there weren’t any available seats for our family. There was no problem for the inbound journey as we had booked a cabin!
"A perfect service"
We made the crossing between Citudella and Barcelona in good conditions aboard the Balearia ferry. It was clean, spacious and confortable. The services were perfect. There even was a pool on the deck, so the kids could play and the parents could enjoy the sun. The journey was pleasant, although it was 9h30 long.
"Ciudella Arcadia absolutely perfect"
I took the Balearia ferry to the crossing Ciutadella/Alcudia, one way journey . In the return I took Isomar ferry . I had a very bad experience with Balearia because the ferry was so dirty. so I was afraid for the return journey, but I was happily surprised, it was excellent under all the point of view, I recommend it.
"assessment "
The staff on the ship in Barcelona is more devoted to the women in the car when the guests who have arrived earlier. The signs for the embarkation is very very bad. The outward journey was delayed by more than 1.5 hours. About the return trip is nothing adverse to report.
"Car rates "
Our trip with Balearia was great. However, directferrices.com has got some erros in the website in the car rates. We paid a certain rate for our car model and when we arrived to Barcelona we had to pay 92 euros more. Other than that, everything was wonderful.
"FERRY CROSSING"
It was very nice. Our cabin was first class and could compete with an hotel. It was clean and spacious. I recommend it to all the Baleares fans.
"Boat to Menorca from Alcudia"
For a two hour trip to Menorca you are provided with all you need. It was well air conditioned inside, comfortable and clean. You could stand outside. The boat was absolutely on time. The boat on the return journey was a ship and was really enjoyable, lots of comfortable seats, sun loungers on deck! My only slight moan is that it takes a while to check in with the paper work, make sure you leave enough time! - Having said that, beats flying any day!
"My last journey"
As usual the journey with Balearia from Barcelona to Ibiza aboard the Martin I Soler was an health walk. It's better to travel in a cabin than on a seat. My only regret is the 2 stars food. Everything else is 5 stars: a bar opened 24/7 where you can have a drink or eat a snack while looking at the see. There was a beautiful sunrise and a wonderful view of the fortress of Ibiza at the arrival in Ibiza.
"Swimming Pool"
I recommend this boat. The only issue is that the music at the pool is too loud and not very varied.
"Excellent"
Excellent
"Ibiza "
Unfortunately, in the front ship all seating and children's play areas were locked. This has significantly reduced the comfort.
"From Menorca to Mallorca "
Very quiet and recommendable trip. The staff looked after us very well when we booked the ticket on the phone.
"Don't book with directferries"
I recently booked a ticket from Barcelona to Ibiza on directferries. I received a voucher by email, but when I went to collect the tickets in Barcelona I had to pay an additional €120 because I had booked a ticket for residents instead of tourists. This was a nice additional expense which I hadn't calculated for. I tried to contact directferries to find out what exactly was going on but could not get hold of them. In the end I had to pay the €120. If you're looking for a ferry crossing, find a different site that can do this for you so that you don't end up with any surprises when you want to use your voucher.
"Waiting time at Ibiza port."
We had to come two hours before the departure of the boat (11.30am) and waited under the sun for 1.30h before boarding. We thought about older people in that situation. The rest of the crossing went well.
"Balearia Barcelona/Cuitadella via Mallorca….."
A good journey. The boat and the toilets were clean. However, I would have liked to know from the start that we would go through Mallorca. We arrived at Cuitadella at 8.30am instead of 6.30am as planned.
"Quality services"
We travelled in a very clean and comfortable cabin.
"Punctual but!"
The crossing was punctual. However, there are a swimming pool, which we didn't know about! We were thrown out of the Neptuna class (1st class) during our return journey, as we didn't book it. As for the swimming pool, we weren't informed about it when booking. For the return journey, there wasn't any catering from 3pm with an arrival planned at 8pm. Weird!
"Barcelona to Alcudia return"
Booked this through Direct Ferries - no problems at all very sraight forward. Schedule did change - but was called and sent email well in advance by Direct Ferries to update me - 5* service from them. The Ferry was excellent both ways - the overnight trip went smoothly all 5 of us slept well. On the return trip in the day we used the top deck pool area - this was excellent!!! Ferry facilities superb with childrens play area, etc and would thoroughly recommend. The only warning is that the first class seats are not reserved and are first come first serve so if you book 5 seats and get there late then you may not all be together!!
"Things to improve "
I had to do the outward journey in Sirena accommodation. They should get ride of it. It is inhumane. On the way back, I stayed in a quadruple cabin. Nothing to do with the other one. Wonderful, comfortable, clean and simply great in every way. Having a beer in the deck was priceless, well, it was actually 1.30, really cheap for a ship. The food is quite cheap too but very improvable. The overall impression though is good, if you don't go in Sirena.
"Trip Barcelona - Ibiza"
We thoroughly enjyed the journey. Nice and clean cabin with nice beds.
"Travel "
A very good crossing both ways. A good booking system. It was my first booking. It's a pity that the restaurant isn't open during the whole crossing. It means you have to eat at the pub.
"Barcelona/Minorca crossing"
The crossing between Barcelona and Minorca was pleasant and punctual, despite an early start. The cabins are confortable. For the return journey, the schedule was changed from a 10 am to a 10.30am departure and an arrival at 3.30pm instead of at 2.30pm. In the end, we arrived at 4pm (which is rather long for an express).
"Crossing"
Very good, except that they don't sell cigarettes on board despite what their magazine said.
"Very comfortable trip"
Firstly, i have to say that Martin I soler is not a ferry, it looks more like a cruise ship. I've travelled with the cheapest accommodation (economy seat) and it was very comfortable, the seat was aircraft style but wider and with more legroom.
"A trip aboard the Martin I soler"
We were pleasantly surprised for our first crossing with Balearia (we normally use a competitor) abord the Martin I soler. The boat was well agenced, it was confortable, the staff is nice and considerate. We recommend this ferry.
"A trip between Barcelona and Alcudia"
What a mess to board the boat. The driver is the only person who is allowed to board inside the car. I had to board with the pedestrians. However, once we were on the boat, we had a first class cabin. It was difficult to fin it, but it was splendid. The only problem is that people are inconsiderate and let the kids run around in the corridors after diner. Despite these negative points, we were very happy with our journey.
"Barcelona -Ciutadella "
A very clean boat and a pleasant crossing.
"Only if it is not to avoid "
Crowded, too tight, uncomfortable seating, poor food. Bad show-program to retreat without a possibility. No thanks
"A successful return journey"
Nothing to say regarding the quality of the reception and the staff. However, the loud and repetitive music on the deck with the swimming, where people wants to rest, is stupid! Although noone speaks French. Everything is announced in English, German and Spanish...Even the menu in the restaurants are not written in French... It's disappointing as there are a lot of French people on those crossings.
"Overnight ferry to Ibiza"
A super way to travel to Ibiza. Well worth upgrading to the large comfy leather reclining chairs in first class.
"Alcudia-Barcelona"
Nice boat trip, lived up to our expectations, nice pool and sun beds on the upper deck, nice chairs to sit and relax on, but you could to some improvements on your food and drinks. Expensive, unfresh and boring!
"Ferry from Barcelona to Alcudia"
A great trip in the first class seats where we relaxed back and slept, arriving in the early morning.
"A very good crossing….with a stopover in Alcudia"
A very good crossing with a stopover in Alcudia and a splendid view over part of the Majorcan croast. We found however that the price of the crossing was high comparatively to the price for Sardegna! Nothing else to report.
"Review of crossing "
various unloading problems and thereby over 1h delay, food nothing special
"Balearia "
Unusual, that the port of debarking has been changed! Ship ok. H.Krey
"A trip to Majorca"
A outbound journey with a beautiful room (night crossing). A long inbound journey (day crossing) avec a basic service. Information should be provided in French even though we are few. We should be informed about the layover in Majorca when booking. Overall, however, it was good.
"Nice trip with comment"
It was a very nice trip but I have one comment although I booked in the 2nd category, I found my chair doesn't work.
"Balearia"
The quality of the services offered by Balearia is satisfying. However, there are not enough indications to find the check-in and boarding gates. It's recommended to be early, because the controls are slow. And we speak Spanish and Catalan. A GPS for a precise localisation would be appropriate.
"Barcelona-Palma Crossing"
We had some difficulties finding the pier, bacause of construction work. The crossing happened in good conditions. Advice: arrive early enough and learn Spanish or catalan.
"meals on board"
The meals at the restaurant are not very appealing. There's a need for an head chef. Excuses for the delay due to a truck driver falling asleep anf blocking our deck for one hour would have been appreciated.
"A bit more efforts"
Generally good prestations. The air conditioning was to strong during the night. No Ibiza Barcelona crossing on Saturday or Sunday evenings
"Happy traveller"
Punctual, reliable and well maintained cabin. Happy traveller.
"Cabin noise"
Ferry was on time but the first class cabin was a disaster air conditioning was not working and a loose rope hit against the cabin window all night thus making it very hard for me to sleep.
"barcelone ibiza balearia crossing"
negative point… impossible to park in Barcelona to get your boarding pass !! No restaurant or self-service available on the boat. Otherwise, no faults.
"Great price and top crossing"
Bought my ticket at directferries.fr and was delighted. When got to the port, there was no wait at the ticket booth and all worked out well on the ferry. Happy traveller!
"Review of my trip to Tangier Med"
Algeciras / Tangier Med is an expensive crossings (132 euros for 2 with car), especially considering the departures are usually delayed and waiting time on arrival very long. We returned from Ceuta to Algeciras instead wichih was about half price, and the schedule was as expected In conclusion, on my next trip (late April / early May 2013) i'll probably try the Ceuta route instead.
"Good in the Neptuno Seat. AMAZING in the cabin"
We’ve travelled several times aboard the Martin i Ferrer, in the Neptuno Seat as well as the cabin (it’s 4 of us in the family). If you’re travelling during the daytime, I recommend the Neptuno Seats (VIP seats), they’re very good quality and you can have a little nap easily, as they can get a nearly horizontal position. They include an electric charger, which is very useful for connecting the phone, laptop or other devices. However, if you’re travelling during the night, I’d strongly recommend booking a cabin, they are clean and its dimensions are perfect for this route, you’ll get a good rest and you’ll have privacy
"Very clean ship, top class staff but look wait at port!"
Very clean, nice efficient staff, only blemish was that the wait at the port was too long and causes delays... Otherwise nothign else to add. All good thanks!
"Seats a good option"
Although we booked a night sailing we slept on reclining seats to save a little bit of money. Not the best of comfort but for one night it’s ok and our seats were the ones in the Neptune lounge which also have a folding footrest. The dining options left a bit to be desired with but we had brought some sandwiches from home and on board we only had a coffee in the morning. I liked it very much to wander around and explore the ship, and the time went by quickly. In general I can say it was a good trip
