"Good cross"
Ship arrived on time, not busy, big nice ship with comfy seats and nice deck. Loved it!
"Direct Ferries Customer Service"
Journey was perfect. (Menorca-Barcellona) I realized late that if you book with the operator you could save money. Before the departure I contacted the Direct Ferries costumer service, asking informations about the online check in with Baleari, because one code called NDI was missing, than I realized that it was the number of the document added when I booked. The lady of the customer service told that it was not possible to do the check in onlinte because I bought the ticket with them and I was supposed to go directly to the ticket office at the port, but it was enough to insert the id number together with the booking number. I can understand the incompetece but I cannot tolerate negligence. If I had listened to them I would have lost a lot of time for the check in. If they don't know the procedures they should be sorry and hush, and don't give wrong informations. Baleari excellent, Direct Ferries just enough.
"rough sea"
Hello, I would like to write you about my experience. We travelled from Barcellona to Ciutadella with Balearia. Rough sea, we felt sick for 5 hours. The whaves were higher than the ferry, really scary. All the toilets were dirty and full because all the passengers felt sick. fortunately the staff was there always cleaning and helping us. very good staff.
"Barcelona Ciudadella"
The boat was very confortable, the staff was very nice. It's a pity that the fast ferry ends its service at the beginning of September.
"Ciutadella Menorca and Barcelona abord the Jaume1"
A very fast 5 hours crossing between Ciutadella and Barcelona. A modern and clean boat, a pleasant staff.
"travel to san antonio"
It was great a wonderful experience , it was ontime in the outbound and in the return. The seat very confortables and the time flew during the travel duration of 2hand half .
"Crossing Denia - Ibiza"
Very pleasant time spent on board this ferry. Departed and arrived on time as expected, a bit of a change from the national rail service that am used to! Thanks to everyone involved!
"Quick and simple service."
Well worth the few extra hours driving from Barcelona, this boat arrives in 2.5 hours and is a pleasant way to travel as opposed to the Barcelona-Ibiza route :)
"Menorca ferry"
Travelled as a family of 5 with one 4yr old and one elderly lady with walking difficulties. Ferries departed on time and embarkation at both ports was organised. Disembarkation back at Alcudia in Mallorca was confusing as the notification to return to your cars was not easily audible and the English recoding was cut off.The signage for the correct exit door for the cars was also confusing. in Menorca assistance was provided to transfer the elderly member of the group to the car park area as there is a long walk from the dockside to the car holding area if you don't get in the cars on the ferry for disembarkation. Overall a pleasant way to travel between the Balearic Islands
"Leisure "
Good service, excellent punctuality.
"Balearia Ciutadella to Barcelona"
Ferry travel is never pleasant with a very seasick husband, a very frightened daughter and two other young children to watch out for. However, the staff on this Balearia ship could not have been more helpful, reassuring and friendly. They made us all feel safe and offered good advice. Thank you to the staff, you were lovely - yes, we did notice despite our above-mentioned problems! We can't comment on the catering as we did not use it. The facility for earphones to hear the tv, if at all possible, would be a bonus, as there was nothing to do for those of us just watching everyone else feeling unwell.
"Barcelona Ciutadella crossing"
A serious company with good timekeeping, services and cleanliness. The quality of the food is however average. I would rate it 15/20
""
a good journey, a good service, a good organisation
"A good way to get to Menorca"
The boat was great, however, be prepared to queue up for check-in an hour before (no check-in online or machines) which goes veeery slowly and to show your passport at three different controls before getting on the boat. Other than that a convenient and efficient way to get from Mallorca to Menorca.
"One Way OK, return uncomfortable - not because of weather "
Places to ride Barcelona - Alcudia sufficiently available, a lot of noise as just the beginning of school holidays and many happy, sometimes considerably drunken teenagers on the ship. Crossing Palma - Barcelona closely enough seating place, rude staff at the car. small outdoor areas entirely occupied by smokers.
"Jaume 1 end Martin i Soler"
Both ferries were on time. Cabin on Neptuno was quieter than the rest of the ship. Nice chairs in the cabin. Catering was minimal. It was possible to purchase rolls during the outward journey, but on the way back the restaurant was only open for 2 hours and it was very busy. The shop has pretty much sold out all of it's food and drinks.
"Barcelona Ciutadella"
We had booked seats for our outbound journey from Barcelona to Ciutadella. However, we had to travel on the floor, because there weren’t any available seats for our family. There was no problem for the inbound journey as we had booked a cabin!
"Cancellation management"
Our initial crossing (Alcudia Barcelona) was cancelled, but we appreciated that: -we were notified in advance by sms of the cancellation -we were able to get a place in the Palma-Barcelona boat on the same day -we are on time in Barcelona We didn't appreciate that: -we arrived 4/5 hour later than planned, had to travel a further 300 km, missed all the visits we had planned and arrived too late at the place we were sleeping at -we were not offered a cabin in compensation when some were available.
"Boat to Menorca from Alcudia"
For a two hour trip to Menorca you are provided with all you need. It was well air conditioned inside, comfortable and clean. You could stand outside. The boat was absolutely on time. The boat on the return journey was a ship and was really enjoyable, lots of comfortable seats, sun loungers on deck! My only slight moan is that it takes a while to check in with the paper work, make sure you leave enough time! - Having said that, beats flying any day!
"Ciutadella - Barcelona crossing"
Ferry crossing aboard the Jaume III. Nice staff and very beautiful boat. A noisy crossing, because of children non being watched by their parents It would good to group all the families with kids in one area of the boat, because it's annoying and tiring.
"not good"
My ferry booking from Alcudia to Barcelona was cancelled, but I was not informed on this. So I turned up at 0630 with no office open. The office opened at 0700 when I was told that I was on the slower 12:30 pm ferry. The result was that I arrive home a day later than planned. Not good service.
"Balearia Barcelona/Cuitadella via Mallorca….."
A good journey. The boat and the toilets were clean. However, I would have liked to know from the start that we would go through Mallorca. We arrived at Cuitadella at 8.30am instead of 6.30am as planned.
"Ferry Crossing to Alcudia July 2013"
I think that if you have the time to do them, then taking a crossing from the mainland (Barcelona) to either Minorca or Mallorca is a must do, at least once. We made the trip out as part of our ongoing travel plans all the way from London down to Lisbon and across Spain first. Comfortable reclining seats, a buffet bar available for supplies at very reasonable prices, meant that we had all we need. On the fast ferry there is deck space at the rear of the craft for those who want to enjoy the climate, although space is limited and it s usually smokers who need to go out there. Probably our only gripe would be on our return trip the lounge TVs were playing at loud volume featuring morning TV with intrusive jingles and kiddy cartoons. The outbound journey had muted sound which was much more chilled and appropriate.
"Barcelona/Minorca crossing"
The crossing between Barcelona and Minorca was pleasant and punctual, despite an early start. The cabins are confortable. For the return journey, the schedule was changed from a 10 am to a 10.30am departure and an arrival at 3.30pm instead of at 2.30pm. In the end, we arrived at 4pm (which is rather long for an express).
"Barcelona -Ciutadella "
A very clean boat and a pleasant crossing.
"barcelona - menorca mallorca-and back "
Thank you
"Alcudia Barcelona "
funny and nice
"With detours to Mallorca "
All good, except for the trip to Menorca, which was not apparent at the time of booking.
"Outbound journey delayed"
Hello, the boat was very quiet, because there weren't many people aboard. During the outbound journey, there was a delay of one hour and a half. It's a pity for a 4 and a half hour crossing. When you don't know your city of arrival, it makes a big difference to arrive around midnight instead of 10.30pm. For the inbound journey, everything went smoothly.
"Crossing"
A good crossing, although a bit long
"A trip to Menorca from majorca"
Very good and pleasant to talk to the journey was OK, the café did not have much to eat , it ran out of breakfast type food quickly, it would have been a good idea to supply us with a map of cuitadela ferry port and the town as when we arrived we did not know and could not find out how far the town was.
"Review of Alcudia Minorca "
the ship was clean, the coffee and the bread was good, but the ship was at night unpunctual
"Jaume I is a top ferry!"
We travelled on Jaume I from Alcudia to Menorca. We left Alcudia bang on time and arrived at Menorca early. The journey was fantastic! It was smooth, the food and drink was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would reccomend travelling on this ferry.
"Faulty Air conditioning"
On the 13th of August, we boarded the fast ferry Jaume I, travelling from Barcelona to Menorca. The journey was horrible because the air conditioning wasn’t working. We asked for the complaints book and we were told that not only did they not have one, but that the air conditioning had not been working for the whole month of August. The situation on the return was exactly the same. People gathered at the shop, which was the only place in the whole boat with air conditioning. Hope they fix it!
