Operated by Stena Line on the Frederikshavn Gothenburg route
The Stena Jutlandica has excellent facilities to keep you occupied during the trip between Sweden and Denmark with a choice of bars, restaurants, the luxury Stena Plus Lounge, a kids club and an on board shop.
Due to the short crossing, there are no available cabins on the Stena Jutlandica but if you want to arrive all relaxed then book a reserved seat in the Stena Plus Lounge. In addition to a comfortable seat during your trip you also get priority boarding.
At the C-View bar and cafe you can relax and enjoy a freshly ground coffee as well as a choice of biscuits while the Cape Horn offers coffee and simple food and you can watch the big screen TV whilst enjoying your drink. At the Food City restaurant you can get both hot and cold dishes though you’ll need to book a table in advance to be sure to get a seat for the duration of the crossing.
During the crossing you can shop to your heart's content in the Stena shop. Here’s where you’ll find genuine bargains and a wide variety of brands, from paperbacks to the latest perfumes.
The ship has a baggage storage facility and at the information desk you can also purchase WiFi cards.
Next to the Food City restaurant on deck 8 you will find the kids play area where children can play, watch films and play computer games.
All facilities are located on deck 7 or 8 and accessible by lift. Passengers in wheelchairs have access to all facilities. Please inform Stena Line staff at the check in so they can attend to your needs and assign you a parking space close to the lift.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Stena Jutlandica guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

Great service ...
"Our sailing was moved to Holyhead"
We were due to sail from Fishguard but as the ship was overbooked we had to sail from Holyhead - we were travelling from Cornwall to Ireland so this added an extra 5 hours driving to our travel. We were offered a full refund - which we have still not received.
"Useful efficient ferry service"
The ferry route between Frederikshavn in Denmark to Gothenburg is a very helpful efficient service which allows travel between these two Scandinavian countries. Stena Line operates it seamlessly with prompt departures and arrivals and a good level of communication during the sailing. Ferries are a vital part of modern travel and it’s good to see them so prevalent in the Baltic region. We need more of these between the UK and mainland Europe!
"recent travel from Göteborg to Frederikshavn "
We had a perfect stay at the ferry. The ship is in good condition, the travel was just 3.5 hours and the weather was even nice - we had a great day!
"Easy and convenient"
I only basicly slept through the trip in a sofa so I don't know that much, but the night trip was a great way of going from Sweden to Denmark.
"Very good experience "
It was a great service a a nice journey . Thanks a lot!
"Great ride, wonderful restaurant!"
Great ride, wonderful restaurant!
"Nice ferry"
everything was good. only some notes: there should be an English translation for each of the announcements in the ferry. They were in Swedish or Danish mostly.
"Sedate and comfortable voyage"
Very pleasant and comfortable voyage. Staff were friendly and everything ran smoothly
"Don't book through Direct Ferries"
We had a good journey from Frederikshavn to Gothenberg but were annoyed at being charged more by Direct Ferries than if we had booked through Stena. The system took our initial booking for Saturday 21 July at an advertised lower price which was in fact for the Sunday. When we contacted Direct Ferries we were told we had to pay more to rectify this, even though it was not our fault. The girl admitted that this happened to other people as well. We will not book with them again.
"Stena Jutlandica 17 July 2018"
Loading and unloading very efficient and crossing was smooth. However there is a complete lack of facilities for refreshments whilst waiting on the dock side at Gothenburg and once boarded we found the catering did not open until sailing so we had no means of getting drinks for over 2 hours. Catering on board at the café and restaurant could be better. After being spoilt by the quality of food on the Danish and Norwegian ferries the selection of meals available in both café and restaurant was a bit disappointing.
"Will avoid in the future"
Very narrow car lanes. It was a warm, nice summer day but in the passenger areas it was freezing cold. Disturbingly loud announcements.
"My experience with Stena"
Better than flying.
"Easy crossing"
Straight forward crossing. Good all you can eat buffet - two sittings at most crossings. Worth doing on lunchtime. Book a reclining seat but you might have to evict a chancer who sits on it
"goog trip"
Nice ferry...very good trip
"Smooth crossing"
We enjoyed a smooth and efficient crossing, mainly out on deck.
"Enjoyed the trip"
It was a good trip. nothing really special... the boat departed on time and arrived on time as it should be :) free wifi was nice aswell didn't really make use of any other available facilities

"gothenburg to frederikshavn ferry"
spotlessly clean boat, plenty of open deck space and pretty good food at the buffet. Plenty to see as you head out of the estuary from Gothenburg
"Gothenburg and Frederikshavn "
Excellent trip. Nice boat. No delays
"Easy to book and use"
Although it was busy with many children running around, we were loaded on time, left on time, found great seats at the front, and arrived on time with no problems all the way.
"Good ferry trip"
Good trip easy loading and unloading. Pleasure to use.
"Superb"
Good transport 👍🏻
"Easy as"
Very easy to book and very easy to board. Immigration was a breeze and no problem with customs at the end. Quick and easy to disembark. English widely spoken and public address system used English.
"ferry crossing from Gothenburg"
nice start to our trip along the city and coast of Goteborg. The ship is beautiful, neat and spacious. It was not too crowded, plenty of seating. There was a cancellation of our departure, due to technical failure. We decided to take the later sailing which was properly arranged by Stena Line, without any additional fee. We were kindly helped in English. Reaching Directferries was another story, more than half an hour on hold and then lost connection, and we had expensive phone bills calling from Sweden! Really frustrating and annoying.
"Suspended trip"
Unfortunately our trip with Jutlandica the 21/7 was suspended due to a collision with another ferry. Thankfully Stena Line sent a text to me the day before so that we coult travel to Jylland from Sweden in another way. We had to find out on our own what happened to our paid trip though. It's all good now - at least we think so.
"Great trip"
Could not always understand directions, especially when to get down to the car. I really liked the way the cars were organized. We could find our way back easily.
"Busy but good"
Good ship. We didn't eat but judging by the large numbers waiting for the buffet seatings, many did. It was punctual and efficient and saved us many road miles.
"Travel"
Very nice trip. The staff was friendly! I recommend the trip to Norway.
"Good choice"
Everything was good, good service. However we were a bit irritated when we sat down and had breakfast, the staff removed our plates before we were done.
"Nice trip"
A very nice dinner buffet with fresh food and good service. What we would like is somewhere to keep your purchases from the shop during the crossing so you don't have to carry it around.
"Crossing Gothenburg - Fredrikshavn"
In June, I travelled on board the stena Lines ferry to Frederikshavn (car with trailer). Everything was well cared for, and stena Lines had a ship that provided a lot of attention to the passenger. Good facilities and friendly staff. The trip was a pleasant one.
"Trip to Holland"
A very comfortable trip easy booking, comfortable cabins, most enjoyable.
"our first trip with you"
Dear Direct Ferries Team Already at our arrival in your building where we had to make the check in I was delighted: clean, helpful and friendly woman at the check in desk, clean toilet etc.. nice place to wait for the ship, and it just went on like this on the boat. Thank you so much for this immensely positive experience.
"Hop Over"
Very impressed - smooth sailing and nice staff
"Evening ferry Fredrikshavn-Gothenburg"
As usual totally fine!
"Good crossing of 3 hrs 30 mins"
Travelled during spring break on board this ship, at 20.15. Check-in went well and the ship left on time. The facilities on board are ok. Travelled back at 00.30, the only negative thing is that you have to eat and drink quickly because the shops are closed when the ship is ready to leave.
"Nice trip"
It was a nice trip and I was well treated :-)! It took some time for me to locate the resting chairs where I could find Internet connection and an AC - plug. The WiFi connection was not so good sadly though. Kindest regards Jan-Erik
"How not to book your journey"
I arrived in Frederikshavn mid-afternoon on 18th August and wondered if I could catch an earlier ferry on the next day. So I went to the Stena line terminal to ask. When I found the booking office and explained to the official in charge what I wanted to do, ie catch an earlier ferry, he looked very confused and said, you have already missed the one you booked on. I had accidentally booked for the wrong day and luckily was able to buy another for the 19th. The crossing itself was fine, unlike the weather. It rained incessantly from Gothenburg to Orebru, although it was fine in Stockholm.
"great trip"
great trip even if the boarding process is very slow and not organized.
"crossing Frederikshavn- Goteborg"
boarding process fast and comfortable. Great ship
"succesful crossing"
All good except that there were several bars on board but only one was open so long wait to get a coffee.
"good organization and great service"
all good, the ferry was busy but on august it's normal
"trip from rederikshavn to Goteborg "
great trip: comfortable
"Crossing to Sweden"
A check in time of 90 minutes prior to departure is a bit too much, but we found things to do to keep busy; there was plenty to see at the port and boarding started after an hour. We checked in, embarked and disembarked easily. The three hours flew by and the view of the arrival port was superb.
"Denmark"
Nothing to complain about
"Adult Only Deck Level"
For the courtesy of adult passengers, there should be a designated "Adults Only" Deck where children are not running about screaming and playing.
"Smooth, easy and convenient"
Our ferry trip from Frederikshaven to Gothenburg was pleasant and efficient. I recommend this trip as a quick way to move cars and passengers from Denmark to Sweden.
"Perfect"
The booking on directferries.fr was quick and easy. The service was perfect.
"perfect"
nothing to report
"Journey between Frederikshavn and Gothenburg with Stena Jutlandica"
The journey and the stay on the ship was satisfactory, but was cold on board and the windows didn't seem to keep the temperature out. Also, smoking should be banned, even outside as when the doors to the deck opened they filled the room with smoke anyway, it's very uncomfortable.
"Buffet "
Lack of hot food at the buffet (meat quality is not the usual standard. greetz Fam Kircher
"Good choose for Stena line"
It is a very good decision to choose the ferry to take the car with you. It is convenient. It can save energy for you. It is very comfortable with Stena line.
"Gothenburg - Frederikshavn "
Quiet crossing, everything ok, we would do at any time. Price / performance in order.
"very good "
very good
"Danger "
Parking in Gothenburg is in due to thefts from the cars during the day not sure! Cars are broken into and stolen all cases. We have seen that on 08.17.2103. The whole crossing was otherwise ok.
"Signposting for boarding"
The signposting for the Stenaline ferry departures from the city and from the port needs to be improved. We almost missed our boat, because of this.
"Nice journey"
Cold on deck, but nice weather and warm on return journey.
"Ferry Frederikshavn-Gothenburg Jutlandica "
The outward journey 3.5 hours from 3:15 clock was very strenuous, there were no or few comfortable chairs. Most of the passengers were at the same not very clean floor, which was not very pleasant. Moreover, the food offered was more poor and expensive. I would recommend anyone to bring your own drinks and food. The return trip with the Express was perfect, here is everything on offer including refreshments and sufficiently convenient place. I would always take in the future to express, even if it is more expensive.
"recommendable "
We had a pleasant voyage. Very punctual.
"Nice food"
Travel was punctual, comfortable, with free internet, good and plentiful food.
"Gothenburg"
Staff were very helpful, when we wanted to changed our timetable. The ferry itself was very nice.
"Eat in advance"
Everything went very well on route to Frederikshavn we were on time. Return crossing was with the slower ferry. Also it was OK, but the food in the cafeteria was below par.
"Satisfactory passage"
Everything was satisfactory, except that the exit was blocked when the ship arrived and it took some minutes until we got off the ferry.
"Internet works great!"
We had good Internet connection on our trip. Yes, you couldn't send very large e-mails because you couldn't maintain a persistent connection but, really, it worked pretty well and it's FREE.
"Onboard Internet not good"
Of all Stena Lines ships in Scandinavia, Stena Jutlandica has the worst internet access.
