Stena Danica has excellent facilities to keep you occupied during your trip. With a choice of bars and restaurants and a whole host of activities, they'll never be a dull moment on board. There really is something for everyone from sing-along nights and live music to all sorts of fun activities for children.
There are no cabins available onboard this ship however reserved seating is available in the Stena Plus Lounge which amongst other things includes priority boarding and disembarkation as well as complimentary fruit, coffee and snacks. It is advised to pre-book though you can upgrade onboard if availability permits.
The Metropolitan serves an excellent buffet style brunch with a choice of both hot and cold drinks. In a separate area of the Metropolitan you'll find the a la carte restaurant where you cab enjoy the wonderful view whilst having an excellent meal accompanied by a glass of wine. The Deck Bar is the best place to enjoy the sun during the summer period. Relax with drink and enjoy the views during your journey.
During the crossing you can shop to your heart's content in the Stena Danica on board shop where you'll find genuine bargains and a wide variety of brands, from alcohol to the latest perfumes and sun glasses.
Watch the latest films in the cinema or try your luck at the roulette and blackjack tables in the onboard casino. There are also left luggage facilities and free Wifi available onboard.
The kids play ground is right next to the Food City restaurant. Here, the children can play in the ball pit or watch a film.
All facilities are situated on deck 7 and 8 and are accessible by lift. Passengers in wheel chairs have access to all facilities. Please inform Stena Line staff at the car check in so they can tend to your needs and provide a parking space on the car deck close to the lifts.

2 friends and I decided on an impromptu bike ride from Gothenburg to Denmark. I am a Taiwanese who has just arrived in Europe, and I am not very familiar with the environment here. "Useful efficient ferry service"
The ferry route between Frederikshavn in Denmark to Gothenburg is a very helpful efficient service which allows travel between these two Scandinavian countries. Stena Line operates it seamlessly with prompt departures and arrivals and a good level of communication during the sailing. Ferries are a vital part of modern travel and it’s good to see them so prevalent in the Baltic region. We need more of these between the UK and mainland Europe!
"Not pleasant for bicycles"
It feels like a casino or shopping mall, complete with screaming children and lots of junk for sale. They should prohibit smoking in all areas and have quiet spaces. There should be special queues and parking for bicycles. Traveling with a bicycle, I had to arrive early and stand for a long time in the hot sun, breathing truck fumes and smokers, and could not even board before the cars. Then I had to wait in a long line to get downstairs and eventually off the ferry. The worst was that there was no way to secure my bicycle during the trip. Crew simply directed all of the bicycle travelers to a short wall between the car lanes, so that bikes would lean on each other. There was no way to secure the bike. I had to get very creative and tie it to another object in a different area, that was not the proper place. And it was very expensive: over $50 Euro. Next time I will cross at Helsingør: that is cheap and easy.

First timers on this crossing, great facilities and good food was served on the ship. Loved the start of the journey through the archipelago around Gothenburg. We were a little confused regarding dog facilities, we had originally booked 3 indoor kennels (via Stena Lines) however, they are no longer available and dogs are on leads with owners in a designated area which was fine, we all travelled well and enjoyed the experience.

A nice ending to 10 days in Denmark that started with Helsinborg/Helsingor. Everything went smoothly, we ordered the return trip via internet from Odense a couple of days earlier. We read and relaxed, ate a nice meal and did some shopping. It was nice and pleasant on the boat, day trip that departed at 12 from Fredriskhavn. The boat departed on time and we could return to Stockholm happy.

Our plan was to visit Denmark and Sweden, taking in the famous Oresund Bridge/tunnel, so we drove north first. The crossing from Frederikshavn to Goteborg was easy to book on line, and the port easy to find! Excellent crossing, dead on time, nice ferry and bags of room. Plenty of outside seating protected from the wind was appreciated. A very pleasant experience all round.

It was a lovely trip from Denmark to Sweden. The kids were entertained with all the free games to play, and we enjoyed the beautiful summer evening on deck. Coming into Gothenburg was an amazing experience for the whole family as we enjoyed the views from the top deck - kids were fascinated about going under the bridge - the ship could just fit!
"Good way to get from Sweden to Denmark"
We were in Stockholm and found it easy to go by train to Gothdenborg for several days then take the ferry to Fredrickson. Construction around the ferry terminal and our hotel which was nearby was a mess. It will be nice when it is all done. We were fascinated by the passengers who seemed to go to Denmark to buy their beer. Understand why as it was almost impossible to find a place to buy liquor in Sweden.

We recently took the ferry from Frederikshaven to Gothenburg on the Stena Line - it was a very relaxing trip and saved us a lot of driving time. The whole process was run very efficiently. There are multiple places to eat (although more vegetarian options might have been nice). There were many different places to hang out and lots to do (shop, gamble, play, eat, drink, hang out on outside deck with music). The time went by quickly. There were also lots of activities to keep the young ones happy. All in all, an easy and comfortable way to travel!

"A crossing of the Kategat with STENA LIMR"
The ship is well equiped. The boarding is quick and easy (remember to note where your car is if you don't want to loose time looking for it at arrival). During the 40 minutes before arriving in Gotenborg, you see a beautiful archipelago and the passage under the big bridge is impressive. There is probably less than one meter between the deck and the highest part of the ferry. In a nutshell, I was very satisfied.

Ship was very busy, the Swedes use it as a booze cruise. Duty free very busy selling drink.Slot machines extremely popular. Overall a very good ship with good staff and a very enjoyable cruise to Denmark. Loading and unloading very slick

I enjoy the trip and it saved me from driving back to Sweeden. However i faced difficulty with regards to booking with direct ferries because i booked online the fare was taken from my visa but Stena line was not notified. I needed to call direct ferries uk helpline with my cypriot roamed line and also be charged an extra fee of 23euro!!

The 3 hours of crossing between Gothenburg in Sweden to Fredrikshavn in Denmark were very pleasant. I was able to work, as there was an internet connection in both port (not in the middle of the sea though). The food was good. The staff spoke perfect English. I am very satisfied.

The facilities and boat staff were exceptional, treated us great. Cleanliness could beimproved (the floor was stick), but with so little time between loading and unloading of passengers must be quite difficult. Otherwise phenomenal.

I want to recommend a trip on Stena Danica to Denmark for a day. The ship is beautiful and well kept and during our trip last summer we spent some hours sleeping on the upper deck in the sun, it was so clean! Lovely view over the sea. The shop for perfume and cosmetics is big and has a big range of brands for prices well under( up to 40% off) what you pay on land. We were happy all the time for this cheap and relaxing trip. Lovely friendly staff, recommended!

We had a great experience on a day cruise on the Stena Danica ferry. The price was low, it was a bit nostalgic to look out over the sea from this classic ferry. It was a quiet day on board and we had the time to taste the brunch buffet which was nothing extravagant, but very satisfying, fresh and delicious.
