"First experience with Tallink Silja"
Very clean everywhere. Cabin, choice of food & supermarket all good. Very scenic journey
"in family"
Was everything nice!
"Ship was cancelled "
I received a message to review this service even though I was only given a few hours notice that the route had been suspended (even though the decision had been made at least the day before). There’s been little communication or support from either service and resulted in a very anxious day finding out whether I would be able to fly back instead and a lot of extra cost incurred. I can’t comment on the boat since I didn’t see it and did find it slightly amusing this morning getting a request to leave a review! I appreciate this is a busy and anxious situation for everyone at the moment but customer service is severely lacking
"Terrible night of drunken disturbance "
I am from the UK, visiting Estonia for the first time. As a treat, I had booked a two night stay in a spa in Tallin for my partner and me, returning on the 1800 ferry Friday 28 February. At no point did your website tell me that this was a party night on board. Our cabin was 8719 and on the same corridor we had to endure drunken people shouting and screaming, loud music that went on until 0500. I made a written complaint at the ship's infirmation point this morning and was advised to request financial compensation for this terrible experience . To repeat, I was not warned by Tallink Silja when I made my online booking through Direct Ferries, also when I asked a member of the crew at 1100 if the drunk people would be quiet and she said there was nothing that could be done about them. This is completely unfair and deeply unethical. I paid £300 for my return fare and request financial compensation to help right this injustice. I look forward to hearing from you.
"Would not recommend"
Considering we paid nearly 150 euros for the cabin it was quite an appalling service and quality. We booked A Premium cabin which was supposed to have wifi. We were then told that wifi only works in public areas of the ship and it is a separate network which is used by business lounges and premium customers only. That didn't work and we kept getting error messages stating that the network access point is incorrect, so we had to use the general wifi network which was quite slow. We were given two cabin access keys as we were two people travelling. One of the key cards didn't work and when we asked for a replacement, that didn't work either. Fortunately the other card did function the whole 17h of the journey however it was quite inconvenient to have to coordinate our movements on the massive ship. The cabin itself wasn't much better. The photos don't do it justice. There's barely any space for luggage, the bedlinen had stains and pubic hairs on it, the bathroom pipes stunk of sewage. The bathroom itself was so tiny that you could hit your head on the sink while sitting on the toilet, had to stand at an awkward angle to use the mirror and sink for shaving. We didn't even dare to use the shower as it was in the corner of the cupboard sized bathroom and would have flooded the whole space and made the toilet wet and impossible to use after a shower. Definitely not worth the hassle for how much we paid for it but entertainment in the Startlight bar and food at the Grill House was actually really good. If the Dance Factory and Indigga bands were performing elsewhere we would definitely go but based on the ferry journey we had it is a definite no.
"Scandi trip"
We were at a loose end in Stockholm so decided to visit Tallinn and Estonia for a fortnight in order properly to experience the country. The ferry was easy to book and to access at both ends. The cabin was as described, small but comfortable. The entertainment was good and the food also. We can recommend the grand buffet but, if not included in your ticket, you may need to book early and go to the buffet to make a reservation. superb range of food, wine and beer included in the price. Beware Swedes on a booze cruise, they can be a trifle noisy!
"Cleaner and comfortable "
Clean and comfortable cabin. Staff friendly and approachable whilst maintaining professionalism. On board catering expensive. More available seating for self catering needed.
"friendly crew"
free coffe for drivers would be grat in a morning :) 😁
"Stockholm -Tallinn-Stockholm"
Victoria, Sunday night 19 Aug Double bed when two singles requested in premier cabin.....full ship impossible to change roomsaid information. Found Couple in distress cos they had singles so we swapped rooms. Trip was then great, WiFi good, enjoyed show and food in Grill Room. Slot machines dismal said my friend of Hobart Casino fame. We didn’t play cos they were pathetic Baltic Queen 23 August. Double bed again changed to single, this time after call to major office. Repeat food in Grill Room of same good standard, machines in casino still not worth playing, show very amateur. Could not get on to the WiFi of Baltic Queen despite their being only 1400 passengers versus the 2800 on the Victoria. Great service, time management wise, very professional and slick boarding and disembarking Gwynne
"Stockholm to Tallinn crossing"
Fantastic. Easy to book. Quick check in. Plenty of staff on board to assist with directions. Cabin was very clean. Food and drinks were reasonably priced with great service. Amazing views and sunset as we travelled east.
"fantastic experience"
everything was excellente and fantastic I high recommend travelling with tallink line for having memorable experience dancing group made my night
"Mugged"
Had to book a 4 berth cabin when I booked this route. However when I got on board I was told that a 2 berth had been allocated, but if I wanted to wait until we set sail they might be able to sort out. 4 berth. Once we set sail they told me that I would have to keep the 2 berth but not to worry as they were the same price ( same price my arse ) Once again customer service at its worst, the securing of my motorcycle was also a problem, mine not there's as they didn't give a toss for my bike. Let's face it all they want is your money, ( well enjoy it as your never get any more of my money ) 😬😬😬
"Great experience"
Overall a very good experiencie..Room customer service, facilities, and entertainment!
"Tallinn and Helsinki"
good and comfortable.
"Day trip to Helsinki"
We took a day trip to Helsinki from Tallinn on our visit to the latter last week. We were able to book it ourselves on line and had an almost hourly choice of departure times to and from Helsinki. Rather than just serving as an over the water conveyance between the two cities, the trips were part of the holiday experience for us. We've taken a number of ferries in Canada such as the one from Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island and the ferry from Tobermory to Owen Sound on Lake Huron. They don't come anywhere near to the quality of travel to the service over the Gulf of Finland. I wish their management would take a look at yours and move from the middle 20 th century to the present one.
"A real treat !"
My trip from Tallinn to Helsinki and return with Direct Ferries was a real treat and very much added to the enjoyment of my day trip. It was all very comfortable and efficient and the fact there was a cabin for my return at the end of a long day was amazing - I had a shower then stretched out on the comfy bed. Many thanks.
"Convenience, comfort and easy check in"
After a bicycle tour through the Baltic Capitals, we ended up in Tallinn and decided to take the ferry back to Helsinki. At the beginning of the trip, we opted to fly from Helsinki to Vilnius due to time constraints. The 3 ½ hour ferry ride was comfortable. We hadn't booked a cabin, so sat in the cafeteria at a table with a window. Food and beverage offers were good. Location of the terminal in Tallinn was very convenient to our hotel. The West Terminal in Helsinki offered tram #9 as a way to get downtown and from there to our lodging.
"Great experience from start to finish!"
Luxurious ship with everything you need. Very calm crossing and great value for money.
"Very efficient, lots of amenities. "
The ferry is very fast and the boarding is very efficient. Its obvious they do this route many times a day. Many options for food, supermarket etc. I was extremely tired on this ferry and could have done with lying down. Could have had a cinema sort of room.
"It is nice and sure"
My friend took the flight Tallinn-Helsinki and almost was late to flight from Helsinki but luggage was lost
"Good Time"
We had a good time. The ship is well equipped and there is almost every thing that you need.
"Nice trip from Helsinki to Tallinn"
We took the ferry between Helsinki and Tallinn and it was a very pleasant trip. Friendly staff, nice and clean on the ferry, arrival and departure on time and good food. Absolutely a successful trip! Extra credits for the fast and easy booking system online and self check in at the ferry terminal.
"Super"
Very good ferry! The trip went quietly and nice.
"Great journey"
Both ships were very large and comfortable. Journeys were smooth and punctual.
"GOOD EXPERIENCE"
ALL OK, HUGE SHIP, NEW, PUNCTUAL
"Lovely boat"
We enjoyed the crossing, there were plenty of places to eat, drink and sit and lots of onboard entertainment. More like a small cruise ship than a ferry!
"Perfect Cruise : Baltic Queen"
It is ok for travelling on this cruise. We are enjoy for shopping, eating, relaxing with your coffe shop,pub....etc.Expectially on floor 6 & 7 .We hope to go this cruise in the future.
"Tallin-Helsinki-Talin"
I recommend to get the tickets from Tallin to Helsinki through Direct Ferries as they got the best prices! I did not have any problem during the trip. Baltic Queen is a ship with a lot of rooms for fun, that is why it is going twice longer than a normal ship. During the crossing I had enough time to do the shopping , go tot he bar. Tallink Superstar got duty free shop, a place to relax, and we travelled only 2h , instead of 3.5h
"Helsinki or the ferries? Ferries. "
Maybe it's that it was my first time ever taking a ferry somewhere. I enjoyed it more than Helsinki itself. Thank you very much!
"Amazing day"
this was the best choice and i would recommend to everyone to visit both tallinn and helsinki. It is easy, affordable and worth of visit.
"Travel Tallin -Helsinki-Tallin"
The distance between Tallin and Helsinki is just 80km , the trip is short and we travelled with the deck space. To Helsinki we traveled with the ferry Super Star 2 hours. The trip was very nice. Unfortunately for the way back we travelled with Baltic Queen 3.5h , that ferry is just for fun. There is a night club , cabins, and the reastaurant. There is nto a Deck space just a few sofas. The ferry was full of people who just wanted to have fun (90%). For people who bought the trip with the Deck Space it is not so comfortable. Impossible to get to the restaurant and to the shop. It was busy as in Oxford Street in London . However are only 3.5h?!
"Travel to Talin"
I recommend Talink Silja. 3 hours travel was really pleasure.
"travelling"
the ship(s) were clean, efficient, well stocked. smooth sailing. boarding was a breeze, very quick and easy. offloading passengers a bit long. offloading cargo was quick. good lighting onboard. very convenient sailing schedules. any and all announcements made over the PA were made in multi language for all concerned to understand
"Premier Trip "
We had a fabulous trip from Tallinn to Stockholm. This was in part due to an upgrade tp premier class, but I am sure we would have enjoyed the trip in any case. Why? A big part was the ship, herself. she appeared to glide soundlessly across the Baltic. From our room we had a fabulous view out over the bow of the ship through a huge picture window-like porthole. After a delicious dinner in the a la carte restayrant(after our complimentary champagne)' we went happily to sleep. When we woke in the morning and raised the blind there we were in the archipelago approaching Stockholm! What a way to wake up. This trip was one of the highlights of our European adventure.
"Exciting trip"
Cabin was very comfortable, ship fine. Meals expensive. Fantastic sailing through the Stockholm archipelago in the early morning. Lovely way to arrive.
"Tallinn with Baltic Queen"
Except for drunk and rude finnish-talking passengers the trip was exceptionel.
"Nice experience"
It was my first time travelling on ferry and I liked it . We really enjoy the crossing.
"Highlight for High School Choir"
Our recent 2 week tour to Europe began with a trip from Stockholm to Tallinn on the Baltic Queen and was a definite highlight for the students. A chance to recover from the international flight with a good night's rest, fun and entertainment as well as outstanding buffet meals gave us excellent value for money as well as a memorable and fun trip. Fantastic!
"Great experience"
It was the first and was a completely great trip for me. My trip was during "white nights" and that also makes it marvellous. Everything about the ferry and its staff was perfect. Thanks.
"Comfortable and Convenient"
Direct Ferries made it simple to make connections between multiple stops on our trip through the Baltic. The cabin was comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly.
"Good experience overall"
The ship was more a mass-travel cruise ship than a ferry, with all that that implies. Cabin was fine. Terrible crush of people during disembarkation-noone heeded the advisory not to proceed to the 5th deck until the gangplank was in place. Main complaint was the ridiculously early closing of the buffet cafeteria-I had 15 mins to eat! Staff were courteous and helpful.
"Our recent Baltic Queen trip..."
We recently took the Baltic Queen from Stockholm to Tallinn. It was a wonderful way to transit between the 2 cities. The crew was terrific and the accommodations clean and well sized.
"My Review "
Great! More than expected. We are very satisfied. Thank you so much!
"Excellent Journey"
Very well organized journey, there were a lot of services onboard (bars , restaurant, shops) we were treated to an entertaining show as well.
"Great"
We had a great time. The evening show was outstanding. Don't know when we have been so entertained. Was a very enjoyable experience. The ladies at the till in the cafeteria were not very friendly. Otherwise everyone else was great.
"Journey from Talline to Stoccolm"
The Journey and the conditions of the ferry were quite good, the cabin was well presented, excellent evening music show, I would make this trip again..
"Trip from Tallin to Stockholm "
Everything has been perfect. In Tallin to can go to the ticket counter and you can buy the tickets without making any queues. We got there by 4pm since the ship left by 6pm and all good
"perfect"
IT was a great crossing. As the ship was not fully booked, got me a single cabin instead of the booked 4 -person-cabin available. The trip through the archipelago is beautiful and memorable on the ship it was all very straightforward and nice.
"Clean and clear"
We have had a nice clean room. Everything functions and looks well. The check in was quick, also the parking at the ship. We are both vegetarian so we had not so many choice of dishes we could eat. What we get served taste very good.
"Customer review"
Inviting and nice ship.
"Surprise Cruise Ship"
For some reason, I missed the part that this was a cruise ship when I bought the tickets. Wow, we were travelling with an 11 yr old and he was loving the kids stuff. The ride was sooth, food was good, and service with a smile. Great time, thank you.
"tallink silja"
Excellent services, especially the duty free section. Staff were friendly and only to happy to help. Having never travelled on one of your ferries before, was amazed at the sheer size of the vessel. The trip was an experience that will be remembered as one of the highlights of our trip around northern Europe.
"Stockholm- Tallin"
Great experience in the ferry. It was a quick and easy way of crossing the continent. On our way to Rusia we stopped by Tallin and the city was so captivating that we ended up staying for lunch and a walk. Recommenable.
