The island of Mykonos, one of the most popular islands with visitors, thanks to its array of beaches and beautiful white washed architecture that the Cyclades Islands are known for, and is also widely visited for its vibrant nightlife that has helped to label it as the ‘Ibiza of Greece’. There are countless ferries that run to Mykonos, from a variety of destinations, including other Cyclades Islands, and the mainland of Greece, and the port is located right in the centre of the main town.
The Mykonos ferry port is 4.5km outside of the main town on the western coast of the island. As there are no pavements leading to the entrance, it’s most easily accessible by taxi and public transport. The cheapest option is the Seabus departing from Chora, which drops passengers right outside the ferry terminals. Alternatively, you can book with a private transfer service. However, these can get incredibly busy during the summer so please book in advance to ensure a spot.
The island of Santorini, an island known for its unique landscapes that were formed by an volcanic explosion thousands of years ago, and now has rugged cliffs, black and red beaches, and the classic underwater crater that is now a popular diving spot. Santorini is one of the most popular ferry destinations, with ferries running from Crete, the Cyclades Islands, the Dodecanese Islands, and the mainland of Greece, making this the ideal spot for either a holiday, or just a transfer.
