"So easy"
It was a great trip and would consider repeating if I was visiting Corsica again. The only thing I would perhaps change is that I wouldn't pay to reserve seats. We did but then spent the trip sunning ourselves or in one of the dining areas, playing scrabble. With a decent choice, the food was ok.
"Good trip"
On time, well organised, avoided chaos from so many comings and goings
"Recommended"
Good experience with this company, affordable and friendly staff.
"reliable ferry operator"
Travelled with Corsica Ferry from Nice to Corsica. Went well, punctual, good accommodation.
"Crossing to Bastia"
The crossing was well organized. However, the cars were parked just far too close to each other. It was impossible to get tothe driver's side. When leaving the ship in Bastia, we had to wait half an hour because one of the vehicles had a defect. The cabins were neat and comfortable. The restaurant staff and reception staff were very helpful and friendly. A great experience!
"Staff"
The staff where a bit pushy to get us out of our cabins in the morning.
"GOOD TRIP"
This was a pleasant trip. Seats comfortable. Good dining options- snacks, self serve buffet & restaurant. The dining options on this trip are superior to what Tirrenia offers on its overnight Cagliari to Palermo trip. We did this after the Nice-Bastia trip.
"Perfect crossing"
The perfect crossing between Corsica - France and Corsica - Italy and vice versa. Booking through Directferries went well but the tickets needed to be printed on arrival in Bastia.
"Very good"
The trip was smooth and without any problems. All is well organized and efficient. The ferry is overall clean and the staff is nice. The reclining seats could use some reparations.
"Great Experience"
We were pleasantly surprised with the excellent service obtained , quality of food ..The upgrade to a cabin was well worth it.
"trip to Corsica"
all good
"Ferry Trip"
We traveled with Corsica/Sardinia Ferries from Nice to Bastia as foot passengers in August 2014. It was a most pleasant journey. Our bags were stored in the baggage room and so we were free to roam the ship. We took the sun up bu the pool and had dinner before we landed in Bastia. The staff were most helpful and friendly. I would recommend this company for travel to the islands.
"Why does it have to be so cold?"
The ferry left Toulon two or three hours late so I was very tired when I went on board and it didn't occur to me I'd need a sleeping bag to keep warm. I've very seldom felt so cold - I had to take a walk around the ferry every hour through the night to keep my blood circulating. It's good value, but I can't see why it needs such intense air conditioning.
"Travel experience "
The port of Nice is very hard to access at noon, which may cause delays. The journey on the calm sea was relaxing and the drinks on board were delicious.
"Great"
Everything is perfect. It's clean and people are kind.
"everything was perfect"
It was my first journey with Corsica Ferries for Ajaccio and everything was perfect. It was like a short cruise. Thank you. I'll come back again.
"A crossing with Corsica ferries"
Our crossing with Corsica ferries went well and was very pleasant. We didn't have to face strikes like SNCM clients.
"Pleasant journey"
It was our first time with this company. Great crossing. The port in Nice is very busy and not very well sign posted. The ferries were pleasant and spacious. Conclusion: we would choose this company again, but from a different port.
"Ajaccio Toulon crossing"
The crossing would have been great if the AC hadn't been so cold in the ferry.
"A CROSSING ABOARD YOUR FERRY"
A very beautiful and clean boat. The staff is available, it's nice to be able to take the dog, although it's a bit costly. The boarding is well organised, especially with a campervan. Everything was good for us, there is no need to hesitate to do the crossing with your company.
"Our review crossing 23/06/2014"
It's not our first time travelling with Corsica Sardinia Ferries and we're always pleased with the services. I'm not sure if it was the Mega Express Four, didn't pay attention to that.
"Directferries ok"
We've been travelling regularly to Corsica for a long time, but it's the first time we booked through directferries. The service was good and the fare interesting. However, the prestation of Corsica Ferries are still really average (the toilets of the Mega Express Five were dirty, the food is expensive, there are not enough seats for everyone...)
"A return journey from Toulon to Ajaccio"
It's well organised. The loading of the vehicles is impressive and synchronised. The boats were confortable and luxurious. We appreciated the little samples, the bathroom, the bedding!! The only regret is that you cannot enjoy the sea. I would have like to have a walk on the external parts of the boat and enjoy the sea breeze... The fares are very random. We compared with several motobikers and noone had paid the same price?? Otherwise, we are satisfied with the service and really intend on renewing the experience.
"Beautiful but noisy trip"
Our first impression of Corsica Sardinia Ferries was that it was a big ferry with all facilities needed. Several restaurants, an outdoor pool area, and lots of places to sit down. The staff is ok and the boat is Clean. A minus that we couldn't buy breakfast at the first café where we sat down - even though it had a breakfast menu. A plus for the tasty and priceworthy breakfast that was served in another restaurant. The reason why we don't give Corsica Sardinia Ferries the highest grade is because of the really loud music that was played all the time out in the pool area. It almost ached the ears and the loud speakers were of bad quality as well. Otherwise it was a nice trip.
"Corsica by sea"
The Mega Express 4 was a pleasurable way to travel from Bastia back to Nice. The staff were efficient and friendly, seating was comfortable in a range of different styles and locations throughout the ship and the check in process ran smoothly with the ship leaving on time. My husband and I truly enjoyed the experience and would travel again by ferry.
"announcements"
It's difficult to understand the announcements in French
"A pleasant crossing"
The journey was good, despite a weather which wasn't that good, until the stopover in Calvi which wasn't announced and made the journey longer.
"Crossing Corsica"
We had booked our outwrad journey from Nice to Bastia and the return journey from Ile-Rousse to Nice. The outward journey went perfectly. Everything on board was excellent. We wanted to return earlier so we changed the date at Corsica Ferries in Calvi. The departure port changed from Ile-Rousse to Calvi. There was an additional charge for this: about €60.00. This crossing too went as we desired, Our booking with DirectFerries was also without any problems.
"very good"
Pedestrians should board first. Otherwise, it was perfect. The boat was on time.
"Ferry journey Corsica"
Reurn journey was fine. Outward journey of seven hours is a bit long for me personally.
"Stress"
Our scheduled Nice Calvi crossing appeared to be cancelled. We arrived in Nice a day early to be sure we wouldn't miss our sailing. On May 7 we went to the check-in desk in Nice where we were told that the ferry wasn't going. The alternatives were to change the date or reroute to Toulon. We had one and a helf hour to drive from Nice to Toulon, via a toll road and by exceeding the speed limit several times we only just made it there in time. As a form of compensation I was given a discount coupon with a value of €15. The toll and extra fuel are already worth a multitude of that. What annoyed us most is that we hadn't been informed beforehand, via email or by phone. We could've booked a hotel in Toulon and saved ourselves a lot of stress and extra costs.
"a good crossing"
A good service, the staff was available, it was clean, the boat was beautiful and nice. Plus, it's nice to be able to keep your dog with you (although this is a costly advantage). The schedule was respected.
"Nice -calvi - nice"
Journey with Corsica Sardinia Ferries Well organised, everything was right on time, good service on board and great meals for reasonable prices. Recommended.
"Really good"
After two journeys with SNCM during which I was told negative things about Corsica Ferries, I am delighted. The boat is really clean, the staff is friendly, unlike with SNCM.
"Inbound crossing from CALVI to NICE"
A pleasant 10 hours crossing in a cabin. The night was good and confortable. We disembarked in Nice without any difficulties.
"a beautiful cruise"
By travelling during the day, you start the holidays with a beautiful Mediterranean cruise aboard a boat with lounges decorated in lilac or lavender blue and equiped with confortable seats and benches on which people can lay down. I like the sea air and there are corridors where you can be close to the sea and feel the air while looking at Corsica becoming closer. I enjoyed the outbound journey with a calm sea and the inbound journey with a strong wind and waves. It was great.
"General quality of the prestation"
Punctuality - good Cleanliness - good Meals - very good and correct prices Staff on board - polite and helpful Cost - fair, it's difficult to get information on how to get cheaper fares by travelling during off-peak times. Your competitors can be worried if you maintained this level of quality. This may not be good for us, the clients, because if the competition was to disappear, you would have the monopoly.
"A trip to Corsica"
It was my first journey with directferries and the second aboard Corsica - Sardinia Ferries boats. I found that the organisation from the reception on the ground to the boarding and to the disembarkment was perfect. The staff is competent and available, the premises are confortable and it was punctual. The only negative is the lack of management of the pets which go with the passengers in the communal and in the eating areas, creating thus, although it’s not immediately visible, problems with hygiene.
"a great crossing"
A good crossing with a minor delay for the inbound journey. The staff was perfect. I recommend this company.
"nice-calvi"
There was a real lack of seats during the outbound journey… The meal at the restaurant is ok. During the inbound journey, the ferry was less crowded, so there were seats everywhere and the meal at the self restaurant was surprisingly more tasty. I recommend your company, because I'm fed up with SNCN and their strikes.
"Reliability"
We left on time, we arrived on time. The choreography of people coming in and people coming out is well organised (there's no waste of time). The crossing is pleasant and the staff is going beyond its ways. I'll chose Corsica ferries in the future again!
"Crossing Corsica - Continent"
A surprise free crossing and a company which has a great sense of service and of availability.
"Lots of space"
Great ferry with lots of space, the only problem is that it is not a roll on roll off ferry there for a lot of reversing and manoeuvrings needed to exit.
"satisfaction of the journey"
We are very satisfied with Corsica ferry, we won't hesitate to use it again next time.
"satisfied"
A beautiful and spacious cabin and a very confortable and restful night.
"bad weather?"
The ferry was cancelled last minute due to "bad weather", the weather was great though. Probably too few passengers on that boat. Be aware of this in the low season (May)! Alternative transport with bus and ferry from new port A to new port B a few hours later was organized well. Still, you may be left with hotel and car bookings in a city on the other side of the island. There was free wifi at the original harbour of departure (Nice) to arrange new bookings though.
"A peaceful crossing"
A very quiet sea, the crossing was peaceful both regarding the sea and the atmosphere aboard the boat. The cleanliness and the kindness of the staff were the top of the staff
"delay"
Apart from a 3 hours delay departing from Ajaccio with no explanation or compensation, the journey went well
"crossing"
everything was perfect
"For a first"
PLEASANT CROSSINGS. A GREAT ORGANISATION. IMPRESSING OVERALL. A VERY GOOD MEMORY. TO DO AGAIN!!!
"a perfect crossing"
everything was perfect
"A crossing with Corsica Ferries"
The mega express 5 was noisy, we could feel the fibration when we were laying down. Apart from that, the staff is affable despite an Italian accent which is a bit difficult to understand. The mega express 4 is less noisy, but was vibrating all the same. We arrived one hour late in Bastia with no information.
"crossing"
everything was perfect
"Satisfied with the crossing between Toulon and Bastia"
I take the ferry twice a year to travel between Toulon and Bastia and I've been loyal to Corsica Ferries for years. I always spend the night in a confortable cabin to to refreshed at arrival. I always take my breakfast on board and sometimes a meal. The lounges are confortable and pleasant. The waiters are cheerful. I used to dread arriving in the garage with my car, because the staff wasn't very friendly. Things are different now. I am no longer rushed when I arrive on the ferry. If the prices were cheaper, I could afford an extra crossing per year.
"A perfect journey"
A charming staff, a spacious and confortable ferry, a perfect way to go to Corscia.
"Experience with Corsica Sardinia Ferries "
Hey, do we have traveled on 20.10. 2013 with the Mega Express 5 from Toulon to Ajaccio and at 1:11. 2013 with Mega Express 4 from Ajaccio to Toulon. Our experiences were very good. The ships were absolutely on time, boarding properly, friendly service on board and clean cabins. The food available was also ok, the prices reasonable. We can recommend the company.
"Departure for Bastia"
I come from the Hautes-Alpes with a campervan. It's a pity that there is not space to park before boarding.
"A lack of information in case of cancellation"
On the 26th of September when we arrived at the port of Nice around noon to take the 2.30pm ferry to Bastia, we were informed that our boat had been cancelled. When we asked why we weren't informed, the agents of Corsica Ferries told us that it was because we booked with Directferries and because Directferries didn't communicate their clients details. We boarded the 9pm boat in Toulon. We had to change our inbound journey because of a death in the family. We visited the ticket offices in l'Ile Rousse and on Calvi and were told that no boat was leaving on the 13th or 14th of October. However, when we went around the port of Bastia on the 14th of October and we discovered that a boat was leaving and that there seats available! We changed our ticket for a 113€ fee. We didn't understand why the price of the cabin, the price for the dog were totally different. Both crossings went smoothly, the restaurant was very good and the staff was very friendly.
"ferry quality "
Eaten I have not, so this point is not assessable
"Good way for relaxing travelling"
A fine way to start your holiday in a relaxed manner. Only the reception was messy, we had to figure how to find our cabin ourselves. We had our own cabin so we could drop our luggage and go for breakfast. We expected the same on the return journey, reception was perfect, but we weren't allowed into our cabin straight away and our luggage was put in storage, so a cabin would not have been required.
"delay "
Port of Livorno ways departure location is not well signposted Port in Bastia: better display panels, where the ferry is leaving and where to be classified Staff: very friendly and knowledgeable, good English skills Delay: Ferry drove around 40 minutes later (in both directions) and came about one hour too late
"A trip to Corsica"
the boat was on time, the staff was friendlu, the booking was made online, I recommend direct ferries.
"Answer Bastia Nice"
Nothing to report, we're satisfied with this crossing.
"Ferry not suitable for "
On the outward journey we had to reverse our motor-home onto the ship. However, the ramp was too steep causing the chassis to scrape it. We were told to reverse onto it at an angle. We were guided by the crew very well, but it sure wasn't easy. On the way back we had to forward onto the ship (wihtout any problems). We had to turn around the vehicle before we could leave the ship in Nice. Crew members guided us, but forgot about the scooter rack on the back of the motorhome which got damaged. Conclusion: It's a shame it's not a Ro-Ro ferry so turning around on the ferry would not be required. And it's also a pity that the boarding ramp is so high. The ferry is not suitable for motor-homes. Aside from that the journey was fine. All general facilities are available, the staff is friendly and prices acceptable.
"A crossing in September"
I was very satisfied with my crossing aboard the Corsica, we booked a
"A crossing between Toulon and Bastia"
The cabin was very confortable. My only regret was that the TV was not in French. However, I was not satisfied with the inbound crossing, because I couldn't get a cabin. We were installed in separated seats.
"On to Corsica"
An excellent crossing, it went very well.
"Decent if there's a good offer"
A seductive but inefficient male staff. I felt treated like cattle. The cabin were smalland poorly soundproofed, but clean and functional. A varied catering.
"Only the sea was bad"
The wind was very violent during this crossing. Thankfully the sturdiness of the boat made the crossing pleasant. The service on board was very good and the boat was always clean despite some passengers being really inconsiderate. The lounges were confortable. The staff is there to help the client and never goes on strike. Two problems: the disorganised installation of the cars in the garage and the poor quality of food. Why is the self with the all you can eat buffet' closed during some periods of the year? You'll see me aboard your boats very soon.
"Corsica Bastia Savona Ferris "
The ventilation shafts which can be seen above the seats are equipped with dust / dirt mold? Overgrown. the food was not to bring the screamer rather own! An otherwise the ship was very clean and the price and performance was absolutely true!
"Very good"
It's a pity that passengers are not allowed to access all the decks. An excellent crossing otherwise!
"Cheaper and no strikes…my choice for Corsica Ferries!"
Hi, I chose Corsica Ferries to avoid the numerous strike of the SNCM. You are cheaper and more reliable! Thanks for your dependabilty and your professiolism!
"Mega Express"
It's so quick that I didn't see time passing by. Swimming pool in the afternoon, a snack and Toulon was in sight. Thanks fast mega express
"Expensive and unconfortable"
We travelled on a very unconfortable pullman seat during the inbound crosssing. It wasn't fit for sleeping!! Plus, I've realised that my tickets was very expensive compared to other passengers
"Ferry 2013"
Nothing to report. The only negative is disembarkment. The signposting to go to the vehicles is very bad. The corridors were crowded The boat was well equiped otherwise
"Savone / Bastia ... Bastia / Savone"
The outbound journey on the 9th of August went very well. The inbound journey on the 24th of August was more difficult. We were harassed through the microphone: "clients who are not eating or drinking or have finished eating or drinking are required to vacate the cafeteria tables". We couldn't find anywhere else to seat and had to seat on the carpet in front of the stairs. It's unacceptable that there aren;t enough seats for all the passengers. The toilets were closed mid-way and we arrived 20 minutes late without any explanation
""
We recommend against booking reclining seats. They are very unconfortable and they are located in a very noisy room - it's impossible to sleep. The evening meals are not good. The breakfasts are decents.
"crossing "
2-3 school grade
"comment corsica 2013"
Congratulation on the timekeeping. I cannot review the catering as we brought our own food.
"Nice - Corse journey - July 2013"
Outbound trip between Nice and Ajaccio. 45 minutes in the heat to board. We are given the wrong labels (not the ones for the pullman seats) and have to change them. Most of the seats don't recline. It's noisy and there is no air conditionning. It was tiring. Inbound trip between Ajaccio and Nice: the port staff was nice and gave us the right information. We booked a cabin, because of our previous experience. It was calm and relaxing.
"a special mention for the boat we had during our inbound trip!"
We had never travelled on this boat before and really liked it! It was more confortable (cabin and seats) than the one we had for the outbound journey. We were very satisfied with our trip.
"Average "
Positive point: a pleasant journey. The cabins are always clean and spacious. I have a preference for the mega express which is more recent. Negative point: the garages are poorly indicated and the non French speaking staff is bad at giving directions. On the mega express four he music was too lound in the children area. WOn the express five, you can only use the cabin 1h after departure. There is only one person to clean the cabin. The prices on board are a bit high.
"Delayed return journey"
The ferry was one hour late from Bastia and they did not try to catch up and get us to Nice on time. There was a risk of not getting there in time to reach the next ferry from Nice. On board sales are apparently more important than being on time.
"In Corsica with Corsica Ferries"
An hassle free booking. A decent price. Very good amenities: bar, restaurant, cabins (cabins on deck 8 and 9 are quieter). On time. It was our second trip to Corsica and we are thinking of organising a third one with the same company.
"Comments"
A very old boat. Almost every booked seat is broken (you can't bring them down or use the foot rest). During the inbound journey, the seats were in a room which didn't have a porthole. The TV was very loud and it was difficult to rest. I didn't eat on the boat, but the restaurants look clean, spacious and varied.
"A smooth and efficient journey"
A good service. No problem.
"A Toulon Bastia crossing"
A clean boat, the timetable was respected for the inbound journey, but the inbound journey was 1 hour late. The only drawback is that it is difficult to find your vehicle and it is stressfull to cross between two trucks with two kids.
"Corsica - Nice-Bastia and return 25/06/13 - 10/07/13"
Two pleasant day crossings, on the 25th of June and the 10th of July. A regrettable 3 hours delay from Nice and more than 1 hour delay from Bastia. A big thank though to the nurse-doctor of the Mega-Express Four who managed to ease a bad back pain and I want to mention the professional efficiency of the staff we met.
"A good crossing"
It was the first time I used Corsica Ferries. My outbound journey (Mega Express Five) and my inbound journey (Mega Express Four) went smoothly. I will do it again for other holidays in Corsica. The boat was less noisy during the return journey.
"Travelling to Corsica"
A good trip both ways on a very modern ship with excellent facilities and also a very smooth crossing in each direction. Reasonably priced too for the journey.
"A Toulon / Ajaccio and Ile de Rousse / Toulon crossing"
Very good. Efficient staff. Departure on time.
"A feedback about my crossing"
The boarding area os easy to find (unlike in Marseille). The reception was very good, I was able to take a cabin directly on the boat (cabins are better than seats). It was ponctual. The food was average. It was clean. A good crossing.
"A little trip which looks like a mini cruise to me!!!"
A very good value for money!!! It was the cheapest I've found and I will use it again soon.
"Return crossing between Toulon and Ajaccio"
These ferries are very confortable - The equipments are very nice. One drawback is that there isn't enough choice of meals or wine (no good white wine).
"We will be back"
We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful boat that we took on 3 June in Nice, luxurious comfortable seats we enjoyed the trip and would definitely choose the same company in the future.
"Return trip to Corsica"
Very good crossing and well organised. The restaurant however was very expensive and food low standard (service too!).
"Transport of Bikes"
My only complaints about the trip were specifically related to the transport of our tandem bicycle. The weather in Corsica had been wet just before we left and, had it been wet on the morning of departure, we would have been exposed to rain, without shelter, for 90 minutes. Some sort of shelter would be good and presenting at the ferry 90 minutes in advance seemed quite unnecessary (the ship did not arrive until about 40 minute before scheduled departure) There were only two bikes on that ferry which was perhaps only 20% capacity so I expect that in high season there would be many more. There was a single, short piece of rope provided to secure the two bikes. This was completely inadequate. The same care shown towards car owners should be shown towards bike owners - they are just as concerned to avoid damage.
"Transitions abord the Mega Express 4&5 car-ferry"
During the Ile-Rousse-Toulon crossing, we appreciated the confort of the lounges, the food, the fact that we were on time and the overall cleanliness. However, my sister in law's disability card wasn't useful, especially returning from Corsica. All the rows of cars (between eight to ten) started off at the same time and without any organisation. It was difficult to park and then all the benches were taken by the pedestrians.
"A great experience!"
Travel to and from Corsica was faultless on these very well appointed ferries. Embarkation/Disembarkation was calm and unhurried, all staff were very helpful, even showing us to our cabin, which was roomy with an outside window, clean and cosy! Highly Recommended.
"Nice/Ajaccio booking, nothing to report"
Very good value for our trip with directferries and Corsica Sardinia Ferries. The service met our expectations.
"Nice company"
How nice to end the evening after a good meal with a drink while listening to a gifted and young pianist. Plus the staff is very nice overall
"Satisfied"
Everything was fine. I was surprised with the quality of the food and of the service. Congratulations.
"Very efficient organisation"
We were extremely pleased with Corsica ferries very efficient organisation from purchasing the tickets, boarding, staff friendly and helpful and cabins clean (even though beds very small but it is a boat and only for one night) We went to the restaurant and thought is was good value for the quality of the food and wine. We would definitely sail with them again.
"Comfortable ferry"
We spent time on a good crossing to Corsica on Corsica Sardinia Ferries, it was a comfortable ferry and on time.
"Comfortable enough"
Crossing was not too long and comfortable enough. The matience inside the boat was very good. We re-will travel with this company
"Corsica crossing"
I am always happy to travel with corsica sardinia ferries home very kind thank you.
"Good crossing"
There was damage on the ferry so we was delayed for 2 hours in Nice, we had not been warned, whilst other passengers had.
"Satisfied"
Children and parents were delighted with the crossing. Provided a good meal.
"Out and back no problem"
Delayed a little due to weather conditions, but otherwise all good.
