Galicia

Operated by Brittany Ferries on the Portsmouth Bilbao, Portsmouth Santander & Plymouth Santander routes

With a Spanish theme - a first for Brittany Ferries - Galicia not only offers sumptuous comfort and modern facilities but also remains true to our heritage and values. Surrounded by water, Galicia is a magical region in the northwest of Spain. Boasting spectacular landscapes and an abundance of art and culture, this stunning area was the inspiration for the ship’s design. So it’s no surprise that she also takes the name of this beautiful destination! Galicia is built to impress, a taste of Spain with beautifully-finished interior spaces, cabins and a host of options in which to dine, relax and enjoy the ride. Bienvenido a bordo! From the beach to the countryside, and into the city, Galicia’s decks will take you on a journey inspired by the region itself. You’ll find light and spacious public areas, modern shopping, plenty of deck space and, of course, a choice of cabins. To indulge you on your journey, Galicia has the biggest bunks within the fleet (topped with our most comfortable mattress), not to mention a TV with free Video On Demand, and Wi-Fi services. Prepare your tastebuds! We’ll be serving a range of authentic Spanish dishes, including a tantalising selection of tapas in our very own Taberna. Our ships are like art galleries at sea. Continuing with this long-held tradition, Galicia will host beautiful Spanish works inside and out, and more besides. Don’t miss The House of Las Meninas, for example, an exciting digital experience, inspired by one of the world’s most famous and enigmatic paintings.

Onboard Cabins / Reserved Seating

Find your own private sanctuary with our choice of cabins. They’re perfect for a comfortable night's sleep (or a quick siesta!) and always have an ensuite bathroom so you can freshen up whenever you want. Choose from wheelchair accessible, to pet friendly cabins, to 2/4 berth cabins. With Video On Demand available (VOD) on the cabin TV, as well as throughout the ship, a cabin is a great space to keep the kids occupied. Galicia also has the biggest and most comfortable beds in all our fleet.

Onboard Food and Drink

Aboard Galicia, there’s a fantastic choice of different places to eat and drink whether you want a full meal or a light snack. Choose from Restaurant Azul, Taberna de Tapas, Plaza Mayor and Commodore C-Club Lounge.

Onboard Shopping

Enjoy great prices and some retail therapy at our boutique in the heart of the ship. Whether you’re stocking up your favourite perfume (or perhaps discovering a new one), in need of magazines and books, souvenirs, or fancying trying a tipple or two to take home from our wine cellar, you’ll want to spend a little while browsing here.

Additional Onboard Facilities

What should you do when the sun is shining and the weather is perfect for sailing? Head for deck 10 of course. It’s time to catch some rays! Our sun deck is the place to be for sun-bathing - and for whale watching. But if you feel like more action, there’s also sports equipment to try. And your kids can have fun too, thanks to Galicia’s outdoor play area. When it’s time to take a break from the sun, or if the weather outside isn’t too favourable, there’s plenty to enjoy inside too. How about some pre-holiday research at our information kiosks? Here our digital screens will guide you through some of the best places to discover when in green Spain.

Travelling with Children

Head for the indoor kids’ play area if you need to keep the little ones busy. There’s one inside the main restaurant, hosting digital games and physical activities, and another outside the bar. You’ll find fun interactive games in the Travel & Sea exhibition area too. Visit the House of Las Meninas for a selfie with a lifesize Menina statue. Discover more of Diego Valazquez’s most famous painting in a whole new way, immersing yourself in a 360-degree virtual world.

Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Galicia guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.
