The Oscar Wilde is one of the most luxurious ships to sail between Ireland and the U.K. and with bright airy cabins, stylish lounges, a wide choice of entertainment and dining options, brings great levels of comfort. From the moment you walk on board you'll appreciate the luxury and will be impressed with what the ship has to offer.
There’s a range of cabins on offer; all are air conditioned, en-suite and above the water line with a choice of inside and outside. The reserved seat lounges are also fully air conditioned with blankets and pillows available from the kiosk at no extra charge and luggage storage lockers are also available. Lounges are accessible by lifts and stairs.
There’s no shortage of places to eat, drink and relax onboard the Oscar Wilde. Enjoy panoramic sea views while sipping your favorite drink at the Merrion Lounge or head to the spacious Gaiety Lounge bar at the rear of the ship for a relaxed and comfortable environment with live entertainment in peak season to suit all tastes - perfect for an after dinner drink. If you’re looking for somewhere for a quiet drink or even a pint, maybe with some live piano music then Oscars Piano Bar will be a welcome retreat. For a wide and varied menu in a relaxed ambience, the Left Bank Brasserie offers great value, and the opportunity to dine at your leisure whatever your mood. For something different but delicious try the Steakhouse whic offers a real choice of excellent tex-mex and steakhouse dining in a very relaxed environment. Named after the seaside town of Berneval-Sur-Mer in Normandy, the Berneval waiter service restaurant brings great food, service and fine French wines together in ways that will invigorate the palate. Alternatively, head to Café Lafayette and choose from a wide range of sandwiches, rolls, baps and light refreshments.
The shop offers passengers the chance to buy gifts and souvenirs for friends and family. You can pick up some great deals in fragrances, fashion and electrical goods.
Additional facilities include a choice of two cinemas, a hair and beauty salon and wifi (not free). During the summer season Cabaret is performed by troupe of entertainers.
The Oscar Wilde is children friendly. The Happy Prince Play Area is provided so that the younger ones can be entertained with films, games or simply playing amongst themselves.
The ship is wheelchair friendly with specially designed cabins available.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Oscar Wilde guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

"RoundTrip pembroke rosslane"
Ship was easy to access and staff was friendly both onboard and at the port.
"It was terrible."
I was never on the ferry but the egit who keeps accidentally using my email was. Im sure it was lovely though .
"Fantastic, smooth sailing"
There is something for everyone on this ship. A great shop full of souvenirs, last minute purchases etc. movie theatres, food, bars. Very comfortable seats and helpful staff. Lifts worked well for my elderly mum. There is lots of space. The time went quickly.
"Holiday"
Wow i like it💝was amazing
"Clean sailing "
A straight forward service. Cabin on return journey was a bit dated and carpet and bathroom not overly clean. Return journey took longer than stated
"Good crossings "
Calm crossing np queuing getting on or off the ferry. Plenty of space on the ferries. Good soft play but some much older children were in there playing rough and unsupervised which meant smaller children had to leave. Older children have lots of other things they can do so this wasn't any good for parents with young children. Great range of food on the Oscar Wilde. Generally happy with the service.
"General management of service needs improvement"
Still can't believe it's expected to leave pets in the car or kennels. Car alarms going off during whole sailing which could be heard all over ship. No effort to find the owners made. Paid extra for club class but no reserved seats so better off in main cabin. This extra was also meant to mean first off in car. We were very front row but last off. Even after all foot passengers. Very poorly managed but I don't have much options. Also, £12.50 for a breakfast?!
"Busy, but fine"
The travel is fine. It is pretty packed at Xmas, and with 3kids we were lucky to get a seat. However, the cleanliness of the toilets was good ( it needs to be said). Pizza was good. We just refilled our water bottles in the cafeteria.
"Mixed Experience"
The Ulysses on 24th Dec departed early, sailed in calm conditions, arrived even earlier than scheduled and the disembarkation was a model of efficiency. By contrast on 27th Dec the Oscar Wilde sailed 15 minutes late and forecast an even later arrival, sailed in perfect calm conditions, arrived half an hour late and then took nearly an hour to disembark without explanation. Not impressed when faced with a further long journey.
"Does what it says. "
The ferry does what it says in reasonable comfort. Accommodatiion is comfortable and the refreshments are good, even if a little pricey. At the end of each leg, however, it took us more than 40 minutes to get off the ferry once it had docked. And we were by no means the last.
"Experience travelling "Oscar Wilde Ferry-- Dublin Port to Holyhead 27th. Dec."
Staff were particularly helpful and friendly at all points of contact--alongside and ashore ,on the car deck and also on the passenger deck. THERE WAS A LONG WAIT SITTING IN OUR VEHICLE ON THE CAR DECK(Over an HOUR) WAITING TO DISEMBARQUE.AN EXPLANATION AT THE TIME WOULD HAVE BEEN ENCOURAGING! There was poor signing at Dublin Port to the ship --WE WERE LOST IN OUR CAR AND HAD TO STOP AND ASK FOR DIRECTIONS REQUIRING US TO COMPLETE AN unnessesary DETOUR IN ORDER TO LOCATE THE SHIP AND QUAI----directions on the ticket would have been extremely welcome!!!A fear of getting lost locating ship is an impotant factor contributing to traveller anxiety -- NOT to be underestimating!!! Al things being equal I would travel with the Line that made life easy and gave full directions!!!
"1 hour and a half late; not great for pets"
It's all in the title. I don't know the cause of the delay but we arrived after 1 am when it should have been 23:30 into Dublin. More importantly for me, I took the ferry to avoid stressing my dog out with a flight. I booked a kennel thinking they might have decent facilities for dogs, but in reality it was just a handful of cages to lock the dogs in near the cars. My little terrier was locked in a small box for several hours adjacent to another dog barking in distress. I went to bring him back to the car because that would at least be a familiar environment but I wasn't allowed, I was told I had to keep him in the kennel. Not happy. I would think ferries would see pets as something they can do much better than planes but it seems not.
"Ferry crossing from Dublin room Holyhead "
The sea was choppy, but the ferry ride was very comfortable. It's an efficient service with friendly staff.
"Holyhead to Dublin and back again"
Great service - the ferries (Epsilon outbound and Ulysses return) were clean and well equipped (especially Ulysses). This was my first journey on a car ferry and the whole process was simple, stress free and well organised.
"Fantastic sailing both ways couldn’t be happier looking forward to my next trip"
Looking forward to my next trip ☘️ ferries were great great crossing both ways
"Ulysses "
Whilst the ship Ulysses was a lovely vessel and crew pleasant we did feel fobbed of regarding the cancellation of the 14.30 sailing. The weather was actually worse for the later sailing this being so we felt that the original sailing time was perhaps not cost effective to run hence the cancellation. Please be honest with customers we deserve that.
"Trip to Holyhead"
Very impressed with the ferries we travelled on recently and look forward to travelling on them again in the future.
"Cabin was great"
We booked a cabin at the last minute and it was well worth it. Very clean could have a shower and get some sleep. Would definitely recommend
"Tresponse "
Enjoyable experience on Ulysses Epsilon is more basic but the timings suit us
"Poor service"
We missed our outward ferry on the 27/10 as the digital signs were not working , booths were poorly lit and we queued in wrong lane. We had arrived at the port in good time but because of the reasons quoted we missed the 8.30am sailing and were stuck in Holyhead until the 14.30 sailing Our 14.30 return ferry on the 3/11 was cancelled meaning we had to get up at 4am to catch the 8.30 am out of Dublin A poor service all round
"Calm fuss free crossings"
Very happy
"my trip"
had lovely trip tp ireland to see my family on irish ferries it was so lovely and relaxing the staff were so friendly and helpful would highly recommend to anyone to travel with them
"Changing my return date."
we travelled back on the 'Oscar Wilde'from Dublin to Holyhead, nice ship arrived half an hour after they said it would due to 'tides' one would think they would know after crossing the Irish sea umpteen times every sea condition would be catered for and anticipated. My main issue with Direct ferries is the booking of the tickets . I will NEVER use Direct ferries to book ever again . i needed to change my ticket bringing the return date forward by one day . i used three telephone numbers endless hanging on. On day three of trying i finally contacted some one . the cost was £70 which is just outrageous....My recommendation to anyone contemplating this journey is book direct with the shipping line.
"Change of Times & Ship"
We booked on the Irish Ferries to sail at 1130 on the Swift for a faster crossing from Holyhead to Dublin. However the times of the sailing were initially brought forward to 1100 and then the night before the departure cancelled altogether because of the 'weather'. This was on 03 October and we were given a choice of either travelling on the 0830 crossing or the 1410. It is over 5 hours drive for us so it was most inconvenient. We were on a tour of Northern Ireland and arriving late in Dublin and driving to Belfast would have caused us a lot of problems with our pre-booked accommodation if we had taken the 1410 ferry. The crossing was smooth, the sea was like a pond. Not sure what 'weather' caused the cancellation. The 0830 ferry was less than 50% full so we are assuming it was due to passenger numbers. We returned on 10 October ahead of Storm Callum, the crossing was a little rough in places and yet none of the ferries were cancelled. On this occasion the ferry was completely full. It should be noted that if the ferry is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, there is no compensation payable!!! A great get-out clause for the company irrespective of all the disruption and/or additional cost to the passengers.
"Not the greatest experience."
Rather disappointed by the late information on cancelling the Dublin Swift. As it was originally scheduled for an 11.00 a.m. sailing, it was necessary to book B&B in Holyhead. With the cancellation of the Dublin Swift our booking was transferred to the cruise ferry, sailing at 2.30 p.m. this rendered the rather poor B&B a waste of time and money (£135 + dining out - £45) as we could easily have travelled to Holyhead on the day of sailing. The actual crossing on the Ulysses was fine. The return crossing on the Epsilon was acceptable apart from the limited shopping facilities and lack of a children’s play area for our young grandson.
"All very good"
Bed Mattresses bit worn & hard
"Excellent experience aboard the Oscar Wilde! "
This was a very comfortable crossing from Rosslare to Cherbourg. We had a spacious and very clean cabin. The price was very fair for both the crossing and the room. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Irish Ferries! My only complaint is that the description of Oscar Wilde's life was not very accurate on the panels that can be found throughout the ferry. There is no mention of the hardship he endured in prison or that he was persecuted for his sexual orientation. The panels portray a very superficial, one dimensional, and innacurate account of his life and literary legacy.
"1st time with Irish Ferries "
Boarding very straight forward , however cars are packed very tight as I had my car scraped up a side panel !!! Food in the Left Bank Restaurant very basic - room for improvement - ... we booked a cabin when we booked on line - we arrived to a very foul odor in our cabin .... however girl on reception moves us straight away with no hassle .... staff are very very pleasant & our sailing was very good ... will use this service again ... only downside was boarding in Cherbourg we were delayed , but no one knew why !!!
"Went too plan"
The ship and hotels where great .
"oscar wilde"
Lovely clean ship. Staff excellent. We had a two birth outside cabin which was really comfortable.
"Good service, nice staff, but operating to the wrong venue"
A good service with friendly staff, which makes all the difference. Friendly helpful staff on a clean ship, puts the customer's mind into a positive and therefore tolerant mind set, preventing them notice something that might otherwise make them complain about; thank you and well done. Only slight frustration is Rosslare is the bottom of nowhere......can this service run to Dublin so those of us living in the North of Ireland don't have that long frustratingly slow drive at the end of a journey?
"Irish Ferries Oscars Wilde"
I have travelled twice in six months on the Oscar Wilde and love her. Very comfortable clean and well laid out. Not too expensive for a captive audience.
"direct ferries from holly head to dublin "
we were very pleased with the way we were treated the information on booking was very clear, th e crossing both ways were smoothand enjoyable thank you
"Bad weather"
On our way to Holyhead we received a text message saying our ferry the Jonathan Swift had been cancelled and that we were booked onto the next ferry. I was delighted with the ease of this change in booking and the way it was handled. The same happened on our return journey too.The staff were efficient, courteous and very helpful. As a poor traveller I found both journeys to be comfortable and was reassured by the safety video/ instructions given before the journey began. Thank you
"late again"
late again
"No ferrys"
The trip over was very good coming home was a different story because we had to drive up to Dublin and get a ferry across to holyhead to get home not good getting home at 5.10am and having to leave for work at 6.00am thanks Irish ferrys
"Smooth sailing "
I’d never travelled by ferry before but I was taking my dogs with me so I decided it was the best option. It was actually a very pleasant experience. There were just a couple of small issues otherwise it would have been five stars all round. When I first got on at Pembroke, I was given two cards on entry, it was only when I tried to find out my cabin number that I was informed I hadn’t been given a boarding card. It was rectified by reception but still gave me a moment of worry. I travelled through the night so the facilities were limited but still good. The catering didn’t supply much for vegetarians but the staff did their best for me. Cleanliness would have had five stars but for the cabin. The bedding was crisp white and clean but the room itself could have had more work. The window was dirty round the seals, it was a bit dusty and I woke up with a rash on my arm that was under the pillow. None of these small issues would stop me travelling with Irish Ferries again. All in all a very pleasant journey 😊 Footnote... maybe you could attach sides to the beds like on hospital beds?? We had some choppy waters at one point and I rolled out of bed!! Haha
"Swift not suitable for people with babies"
We have twin babies and the we were unable to take the buggy from the car due to the lack of space. We also had to take both car seats out of one side of the car due to being so close to her railing on the other side. Further to that, we had to raise the car seats above the cars in order to get past them. Not a pleasurable experience and will make me get he slower ferry from now on.
"travel"
excelent
"Many thanks for your understanding"
Rescheduled our crossing following a bereavement. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Thank you!
"Trip okay but more staff training needed"
My recent return trip to Ireland left me absolutely fuming. We arrived at the port in Holyhead after a two and a half hour car journey and queued up to check in. When we were about three vehicles from the front, there was a problem with the paperwork of a white van. This went on and on. A what I gather was a supervisor arrived - a blond lady - and the delay carried on. After 25 minutes I left my vehicle walked up to the kiosk and said to her that the intellegent thing would be to reverse this white van back and allow everybody on whilst you sort out his booking. She disagreed with me. She obviously thought it was more intellegent to keep hundreds of people waiting whilst she sorted 'white van's' booking. At this stage - bursting for the loo - I had to change lanes and get on the ship. I was not at all happy.
"Why did Irish ferries not sail when senna line did "
31st December-while I appreciate the weather had been windy on 30th and storm Dylan and as tough I fail to understand why Irish ferries cancelled my 2m sailing on 31st December and yet Stenna Life managed to sail at 3pm. Very annoyed as I was then put on 8pm sailing which meant I had to pay for hotel in Holyhead (I live in London and specifically chose me midday sailing so as to not drive during night) and also are you as not able to make it home to celebrate new year with my family. Basically I won’t be sailing with Irish ferries again if I can chose stenna instead.
"Great Value"
Excellent overnight crossing.. Spacious cabin, great facilities on-board and all for €188 PS- Staff were friendly and professional
"dissatisfied with Irish ferrIes "
Will not go with Irish ferries ever again .I have been to Ireland with them for 23 years .this trip was the worst I'v been on ,I was so upset when i had to put my dogs in a cadge / kennel ,it was not good as both dogs are rescue dogs and never been in a cadge / kennel before ,the staff were not in the least helpful ,and just 3 visits in 18 and a half hours ,BET they don't wait that long to go to the loo .the exercise area was small ,just on a ramp for the cars with steel mesh on the floor that upset my dogs it had sharp edges that could cut paws .and was not good, and my dog had a pee in the wrong place as we had to walk 50 yards to the aria and was told she should wait . GET A GRIP IRISH FERRIES not good !!!! YOU HAVE JUST LOST A CUSTOMER. DIRECT FERRIES ARE BRILL NO PROBLEM WITH THEM .
"Great return crossing."
Trip to France we chose this route and we're well pleased with our travel experience. Organisation was good during embarkation, cabin was clean and comfortable and the beds were very comfortable. Food in the restaurant provided a good choice, food well presented and tasty ... but ... how does one keep ones meal warm after choosing and waiting to pay? No ones sorted that one yet. Overall a very smooth and pleasant experience, one I trust to make again next year.
"Unexpected Pleasure"
Traveling from France to Ireland, I thought to take a ferry for the first time in my life, thus thinking I would be on the water in a vessel with the services of a train. Was I wrong! Not only did I find the Oscar Wilde staff super efficient, professional and helpful (even when I did not ask), but the decor and atmosphere was fantastic, opulent, while maintaining an informal air with its passengers. I will definitely use this ferry service every chance I get and it made for a wonderful and relaxing trip.
"Enjoyable trip"
We recently travelled on the Oscar Wilde from Rosslare to Cherbourg. Both the outward & return journeys were excellent. All aspects were very high quality with the boarding & being reasonably stress free. The cabin was spotless & very comfortable. We ate in the main restaurant on both journeys & the quality of food and service was good. All considered it was a very good experience.
"Crossing from Rosslare to Cherbourg"
As always i had a good time with friendly staff and good facilities. Thank you for a comfortable and enjoyable crossing.
"RELAXING"
It was a very enjoyable and relaxing trip , was just like being on a cruise ship . We really enjoyed it .
"Great crossing both ways Cherbourg to Rosslare"
We had a very good experience. The food was really good and without doubt the crew were the most helpful, friendly and willing of any ferry we have ever been on. Whilst the cabins were clean they are starting to look a little tired.
"Disappointing experience"
This was my first trip on the Holyhead-Dublin route and I must say I was quite disappointed by the experience. The ferry was completely full for both crossings yet there were not enough facilities to cater for everyone. The restaurants were full of people sleeping on and under tables which made it impossible to get something to eat as there wasnt anywhere to sit. Staff did nothing to assist and tell people to move who were taking up too much space. A few signs on the tables that were ignored was all there was. In the end my partner and I sat on the floor of the bar for 3 hours due to the extreme rudeness and selfishness of some passengers on board ( one man had his shoes off and feet up on the table in restaurant snoring asleep across 4 chairs!!) If staff had have intervened or the closed restaurants opened it would have made the crossing a lot more pleasant!!
"Trip to Ireland"
Great service. Having made the out trip by Stenna we had something to compare with and we were very impressed. We were even allowed to plug in our motor home to 220 volts for the trip
"Great experience"
This was our first experience of this route and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip
"Best crossing ever"
Recently sailed from ireland to France on the oscer wild best ever crossing
"Very fine experience"
Everything was a lot better than what I expected. Thanks!
"Excellent family ship"
Excellent ship all round except for the cleanliness of the toilets. My 7 year old went to the toilet only to have walked all over human faeces. I went in to the toilets and it was everywhere and i mean everywhere. One hour later i went back to check and it had not been cleaned despite me telling someone unboard. My daughter was very distressed and her shoes and socks were distroyed. I was very annoyed at this. We had to bin her footwear and shower her. I was on a Stena ship last week and there was a cleaner in tge toilets every 15 minutes as my wife and i were sitting opposite the entrance. If the cleanilness improved unboard Irish ferries they would get 5 out of 5 but we had a traumatic ecperience and would question whether to travel again
"Could of been cleaner"
The cabin was not very clean and no where near as nice as cabins on stenaline . we ate in the steakhouse and the food was excellent and great value
"Relaxing"
Delightful trip. Beautiful boat and the staff are very nice and friendly!!!!!
"Great service"
Irish Ferries provided a great service as the weather was bad they texted, emailed and phone me regarding the chancellation of my scheduled booking putting me automatically on to the next sailing. The service at check in and on the sailings were great with spacious accommodation, good food and comfort dispite the bad conditions. I wil definately travel with them again and recommend them.
"Journey frm Cherbourg to Rosslare"
We use the Oscar Wilde quite frequently because it travels back and forward to France throughout the year. It is a fine boat with good facilities and the cabins are clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The addition of Wi-Fi on deck 7 is very welcome.
"Excellent service"
Very happy with all the services and staff
"I recommend "
strongly recommend, in general nicely
"EXCELLENT"
All excellent from restaurant to cleaning, perfect journey.
"My trip in Ireland"
A quality trip. I found relax and an excellent service. Perhaps the air conditioner was too cold, but you only need a jumper.. I hope to travel again in Ireland.. With the Oscar Wilde.
"A really nice trip"
It was our first time in Irland. We often do long trip. The hospitality was really good: some guys were playing at the entrance and they gave a good start an unforgettable trip. All the services: from th office on board to the restaurant and duty free were di excellent quality. The only flaw was the price. For us it would be better to do the "camping on board" formula. In conclusion very good. Alessandro Ferrante
"crossing"
Beautiful ship, it is been a really nice crossing
"Return trip "
Very nice ferry, with a spacious and comfortable cabin. Nice choice of restaurants with a wide range of options for breakfast
"Pleasant trip"
it was a very nice ferry trip to Ireland and back. friendly staff good accommodation, the food was tasty, and saw some fun performances on the return trip!
"Oscar Wild experience"
Fine, modern ship with all required facilities. Helpful staff. Well equipped cabins, very functional. Boarding and disembarking went smoothly.
"SWIFT cancelled due to bad weather - normal ship takes much longer"
Excellent crossing - good service - comfortable seating arrangements
"Happy Ferries"
We travelled on board th Oscar Wild Saturday 6/06 and Sunday 7/06 2015. We were tired because we drove from Milan to Roscoff. Once on board everything was perfect, after a quick look at the ship we went to rest in the cabin that we booked. Silent crossing and quiet, Thanks to the sea favorable condistions. Excellent and punctual. Experience that we recommend to friends and family. Thanks!
"Irish Ferries"
Nice ferry crossing on a neat ship, at a very affordable price

"Excellent Service with Irish Ferries"
I recently sailed from Cherbourg to Rosslare with Irish Ferries on the Oscar Wilde. I had done a gruelling 12 hour drive from Germany that day and arrived exhausted and hungry at the port. After boarding I was greeted by 2 members of staff at the entrance to the lift and exit from the lift guiding passengers to their accommodation. My cabin was very good and a welcome hot shower was just what I needed. My cabin was roomy enough for one person with a comfortable bed and couch. Then down fr a very pleasant dinner with wine which was very reasonably priced. More friendly staff faces made me feel very welcome on board which particularly impressed me as I was a travelling alone. The next morning the breakfast buffet was excellent the journey to Rosslare passed very smoothly. I would definitely recommend travelling with Irish Ferries and will recommend their friendliness and good value to all my family and friends.
"Smooth sailing, not so smooth seating"
Last time I sailed on the Oscar Wilde I had an obligatory, over-priced seat in a communal area full of rigidly uncomfortable airline-type seating, abandoned by everyone when a 12-hour storm made it total torture. This time I had a cabin and the sea was calm, so everything was fine (just bring your own pillow and a good book, 20 hours is a lonnnng trip). Friendly staff, decent meal, big shop, no problem. But I did re-visit the seating area and it's still exactly the same - bolt upright, horrible, you couldn't comfortably sit in one of those chairs for one hour never mind twenty. Which is a pity as cabins work out expensive for single travellers. Overall, a happy experience this time, but the wretched seating area needs a major comfort overhaul. The seating on the (much shorter, 4 hour) Newhaven-Dieppe ferry trip is way better.
"1st class service"
The best thing about this pleasant was the professional and helpful staff. Everything else was excellent.
"Easy Cruising"
From Rosslare to Cherbourg on The "Oscar Wilde" ferry was an easy cruise and everything worked , as it should. Fast check-in. Good and clean equipment to tie down my motorcycle.. Clean and sufficiently large standard cabins. Competent catering -with a wide variety of choice.. All staff appeared very competent -though some appeared less enthusiastic than others about "Customer Service" Overall. this is a very well managed service.

"Overnight travel from Cherburg to Rosslare "
All services went well, smooth sailing, great food and comfortable accommodation, only down side comment would be the disembarkation seemed very long winded taking over 30 minutes after first car off. Would certainly travel with Irish Ferries again.
"great service and on time"
We travelled with reserved seat, not easy to take a rest and relax. Clean ship with good services on board. Departure on time
"Irish ferries"
Great site to compare the prices and my favourite ship is Irish ferries thank you
"Very pleasant journey"
The journey was very pleasant. The only unpleasant thing was it took over 45minutes to get off the ferry. We all stuck in the car on the car deck without any announcement for 45 minutes.
"A Lovely Time"
We had the 4 star deluxe cabin and found it to be just wonderful. There was a fresh bowl of fruit, lovely refreshments, and comfortable beds. We were rocked to sleep by the Atlantic ocean ,then woke up completely refreshed in Ireland. I found some very good deals on board the shop (duty free). The food at the Steak House was delicious, and finally the staff were customer-service orientated. They were all friendly, helpful and efficient. It is defiantly a trip that I would recommend.
"feedback of our experience on the Oscar Wilde"
We had a return trip Rosslare-Cherbourg on the Oscar Wilde. This was our first familiy trip by ferry and did not know what to expect. I have to say we were plesantly suprised. The salings were very calm on both trips, cabins were v clean and comfortable. The food in the main resturant was good and staff were very pleasant. We also went to the cinema on our return journey which was also very enjoyable especially for the kids. We had initially thought the kids may have got bored on ferry journey but there was plenty to keep them entertained All in all a great experience.
"my first experience by ferry in the Adriatic"
I'm surprised by the quality of the trip and the size and comfort of the cabin. A lot of shops
"Trip to Ireland"
Good trip (outward and return) without any problems
"crossing on the Oscar Wilde"
Excellent service offered by Irish Ferries. The ship looks like a cruise ship with a number of bars and restaurants. Large and welcoming cabin, immaculate. Crew friendly. Only one note to the staff of the garage that did enter motorcycles with the cars, without priority to motorcycles , avoiding us to breathe discharges for several minutes.
"trip in ferry"
Compared with the Italian ferrys, this one is a great and the brilliant cabin with two windows, free drinks in the fridge, towels, in general quite marvellous.
"Ireland with Oscar Wilde"
the journey aboard this ferry is pleasant, I can only recommend it.
"Pleasant hassle free journey"
Arrived in Rosslare to find that it was so easy to get booked on and boarded. I was travelling on a motorcycle but only complained was that they had all motorcycles crammed in together so meant tying the bike steady was not easy. The dock staff just wanted to get you in and out of way. The rest of the journey was fantastic, the food ,the bar and cabin all clean. I would take this trip again but would like more space if on the bike.
"back to Italia"
A great journey with a calm sea and only a bit of fog. The ship is welcoming, the staff is nice and available, the cabin is clean and quiet, the motorbike didn't have a scratch. It was a beautiful experience.
"Excellent"
I took the same itinerary with another company before. From now on, I'll use Irish Ferries.
"back from Ireland"
It's a very pleasant boat despite the very strong tremors. The cabins were clean and well equiped. We would have liked, as it's customary on flights, to have a meal included in the price (it's overpriced on board).
"I recommend this company"
I would have appreciated a better French translation and a better quality for the speaker announcements.
"An absolute delight"
I am delighted with this crossing. The reception is friendly and the staff is available. The choice of restaurants and the quality of the dishes already creates an Irish atmosphere. The cabins are confortable and quiet during the night. There are shows in the evening. It was my second crossing (the first was 20 years ago) and this one was a lot better than the first.
"A travel experience"
It was my first ferry crossing, the experience was positive and problem free.
"Journey from Cherbourg to Rosslare"
Excellent ship and trip
"A good start of the holidays"
A very good journey. There is a choice of food for different budgets. It was quiet despite two school buses. The staff is always there to inform you.
"oscar wilde ferry"
a very beautiful boat, a pleasant crossing.
"Ferry Oscar Wilde, Cerbourg-Rosslaire "
Crossing was ok, good value for money. The reclining seats were unfortunately no fold-foot, well the opportunity was to take a shower on board. Toilets and washrooms were clean.
"Travel to Ireland"
It was a nice experience in all times!
"Good times"
19 hours on your ferry was not as long or as tedious as I expected. I expected to be quite bored and restless. In fact the very opposite was true. Of course securing a cabin makes this a lot more comfortable.

"a crossing from France to Ireland"
it's a shame that the staff nowadays doesn't speak English, I am from an older generation who has not learnt English. I recommend the rooms with a porthole on the 8th floor, which ebables you to be far away from the night-time noise. The duvets are a bit short though. It was a pleasant crossing by a calm sea.
"Pembroke/Rosslare and back again"
We travelled just after the bad weather at Christmas, we found it a little difficult to get the information regarding sailing on the website but did find the staff once we telephoned to be very helpful and gave us the news that the sailing had been cleared to go so we could plan our 6hr car journey to the ferry port. The sailing was far better than we expected!! The staff were very efficient, clean ship, great facilities, lots of families travelling as Christmas time. Our return we booked a cabin and found that very comfortable and would strongly recommend for those who prefer to lie down and added comfort of own bathroom/toilet. The staff on both crossings were professional and I am sure could deal with any type of query/situation they gave off a air of confidence. We will definitely use Irish Ferries again. The outbound sailing was delayed because of the previous extreme weather which Irish Ferries did explain and to be honest I felt it far better that they had cancelled earlier sailings because of the weather and safety and were doing their utmost to "catch up".
"oscar wilde ferry"
A very nice crossing in spite of a bad waether. The staff was nice and professional. The ferry was pleasant with a large space to eat and rest. I recommend Irish ferries.
"Dublin - Holyhead"
Good Trip, I don't understand why the food quality is so poor and so expensive.
"Fun experience travelling aboard the Oscar Wilde"
We enjoyed travelling aboard the Oscar Wilde. Staff is very friendly and good at their jobs. We'll be going back on the Oscar Wilde at the end of November.
"Bookings with direct ferries "
Dear Sirs, I have booked two times a crossing at you. In both cases, I have not received a booking confirmation by e-mail. That is, I had to with the booking number when you request for a booking confirmation check-in me before I could get on board. The evaluation form I always get immediately after booking. Why not booking confirmation?
"Pleasant voyage"
Using this service for many years, but despite my best efforts still finding it difficult to find my way back to my vehicle.
"Ferry Oscar Wilde "
All right, the ship was on time, clean and friendly team
"Reasonable sailing experience"
We elected to take the reserve seat option rather than pay extra for a cabin. The reserve seats were in various small rooms and not particularly comfortable. There were few people using them and many were sleeping on the floor or had brought airbeds. The dining facilities were very good and to suit all pockets. There were 2 large lounge bars that were also very nicely decorated but sadly the stages which promised some sort of entertainment were shut and the atmosphere was dull and empty. The facilities overall were pretty good though. One lesson learned was that being one of the first cars to board made us one of the last to leave and we were left sitting for a good 30 mins until nearly everyone was off. Not bad for an overnight trip and beats driving through England and tasking a 2nd ferry for the price, so not a bad option.
"Cherbourg - Rosslare and back "
We were very satisfied, quality of food in the self service restaurant only satisfactory, staff very good, otherwise return journey were very pleasant.
"A successful crossing"
A very pleasant crossing with a very caring staff (we were given a blanket just five minutes after we've asked for it) One setback: when you shower, you flood the bathroom as there are no shower curtain.
". . has. BEWARE. . . "
. . . including delphi trace-floating entertainment on the return journey - happy again :-)
"Oscar Wilde Roslare Roscoff"
Terrific ship. Friendly staff. Plenty to do for families with young children.
""
Overall satisfaction
"cancelling"
We had to abort the trip to Cherbourg due to illness. We have not been able to do the crossing.
"wonderful "
The crossing from Ireland to France was absolutely relaxing and quiet. The ship offers everything you need. The staff is friendly, the cabins clean. Every time.
"Great!"
Used in April. A great ship!
"Oscar Wilde"
Despite a delay of one hour at departure during the outbound journey, Oscar Wilde was on time the next day and the crossing in heavy sea was fine. The condition for the inbound journey were better and we didn't feel a thing. Confortable cabins, good prestations. Our 10 years-old grand daughter will keep a great memory of this first big trip.
"Delays"
Late drive from Cherbourg. First crossing was cancelled due to snow, then transfered to another ferry! Have another crossing again in June and hope without delay this time. Thank you
"Lovely crossing"
The boat Oscar Wilde, is very nice, the cabins very comfortable, spacious, bright, very warm, friendly. Tasty and plentiful restaurants. Very happy.
"Trip between Cherbourg and Rosselare"
Cheerful staff, quality meals and good amenities. The return journey was a bit long but it's probably because of the winds on the Irish Sea
"Good journey"
My experience is a positive one; I knew I wasn’t going on a cruise. However, the seats were pretty bad and they should be changed as soon as possible! They are really uncomfortable and it was really cold too!
"Reserved Seats"
Reserved a seat rather then cabin (reservation fee was steep considering the seats are not numbered)first come first serve!), the seats are old, frankly uncomfortable, not suitable for sleeping on ,their is nothing in the room but seats and a fake security camera! Storage lockers are available at a hefty cost, the shower is located in the toilets. 1 shower, toilets are used by cinema goers so busy, after shower you must leave toilet , walk past the cinema tickets office and shop, down the screen corridor to room. My point being don't just wrap up in a towel, you need to go dressed and return dressed! Didn't find the tv room? Very expensive food/drink. All in all found the staff friendly and professional and the ship to be very clean, no entertainment or tv and old grandfather seats, wifi only available in certain parts of the ship not the reserved seats room and the cost of on board refreshments were the negatives.
"All good"
No complaints ! All gopod as expected ! Thx !
"Outward with Irish Ferries great, read below for the return....!"
Our car got broken into and my bag, papers, credit card, cash and phone was stolen so we didn't get to find out that our ferry was cancelled as i couldn't be contacted. When we arrived at the terminal in Rosslare and there was no ferry, the very helpful Irish Ferries staff found us a solution and we ended up returning the following day with Celtic Link Ferries. So this review is to let you know that the Celtic Link ferry on the way back wasn't anywhere near as nice as the Irish Ferries boat.
"Great"
Long journey between Cherbourg and Rosslare. But the staff on board made it seem a lot shorter for us.
"A great trip"
We went on the Oscar Wilde in September 2012 as a result of the Brittany Ferries strikes and were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in a very spacious 3 star cabin with window near the front of the ship (much cheaper than would have been on Brittany Ferries Pont Aven). The shop sold numerous irish products and ebabled us to buy some last minute gifts. The decor was nice and representative of the personality of Oscar Wilde. The restaurant wasn't exactly memorable, but we did choose the cheaper option. Only criticism i had is that if you dont speak English then its a bit difficult to communicate with staff and not all signs are in French either (which is a bit strange for a service that goes to and from France). Anyway, all in all, very happy and will be using again in 2013.
"Cherbourg Rosslare"
I spent Christmas 2011 with my Son and his family in Ireland and used the ferry Oscar Wild for the first time. All I can say is that both crossings to and from France were absolutely fantastic and I can fully recommend using this ferry.
"Trip to Roscoff, September 2012"
Great crossing, a la carte restaurant really good. Highly recommend.
"Better than Celtic, cheaper than Brittany!"
I recently travelled on the Ireland France route from Cherbourg to Rosslare with Irish Ferries by car with my partner. I chose them because i didn't want to pay the price of travelling with Brittany Ferries and am not a big lover of the Celtic Link service so this was the ideal choice for us. We ate in the Berneval restaurant and the food was up to a good standard. We booked a 2 berth 4 star cabin which was good too with comfortable beds, though a shame it wasn't a double bed. Staff were helpful and friendly and the ferry facilities were very good and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Oscar Wilde.
