"Delos :oui. Naxos : non "
Le Delos est confortable, agréable par sa luminosité intérieure. Le Naxos ne devrait même pas exister,il est exiguë,il n'y a pas d'asssises pour tout le monde. Des chaises en plastique pour 7h de voyage c'est montrer peu de respect envers les êtres humains... Cela me rappelle certains événements dramatiques de l'histoire !!!.
"Comfortable seats, but woefully understaffed cafe "
The cafes are woefully understaffed, whatsmore by people that don't know how to wear masks (cover your nose!)
"Oops! You left us all behind in Paros!!"
We queued in the correct ‘pens’ in Paros, our ferry arrived….but no-one opened our gates 3&4 where we were waiting, and the ferry left without us. Luckily for us, there was another of your ferries 1/2 hr later, and we all got on that! It was traumatic to see our ferry depart without us.
"Another great trip with Blue Star Naxos"
Excellent trip back to Athens from Paros on Blue Star Naxos. It’s worth paying that little extra to travel Business Class where the lounge is quiet and restful and with excellent waiter service throughout the trip.
"Great crossing but Direct Ferries need to get their act in order!"
Very impressed with the simplicity of the booking system and cannot fault the crossing itself. However..... the paper documentation, which called itself a “ ticket”:turned out to be no such thing. We queued to get on the boat and were turned away, sent to the ferry office Where we again queued for 25 minutes to exchange the paper for “ tickets”. We ran to the boat, the passenger gangplank was already up but we were allowed to go up the vehicle ramp. We have two more crossings booked but have learned from this experience and will visit ferry offices first.
"Ferry cancelled"
The Blue Star ferry we were booked on was cancelled because of a strike. We had to pay an additional 22 euros to travel on a later ferry with a different company so we were not impressed with Blue Star.
"Blue star Naxos"
Was due to travel on Blue Star Naxos. Arrived at Paros Port. No sign of where to wait. Eventually spoke to a port worker who said it had been cancelled due to a technical problem and to catch the next ferry Blue Star Delos over an hour later. No e-mail received from Direct ferries or Blue Star.
"Good ferry"
The ferry trip was good. I recommend booking a seat as they are large leather reclining seats with plenty of legroom. This made the journey comfortable and relaxing. A fair amount of food and drink on board to buy. Taking a suitcase is a bit of a scrum at the end as it was so busy- not enough spaces for everyone’s suitcases and not organised at all, so be prepared to battle the crowds getting your cases back!
"Just if you want to be treated like rubbish "
Not a problem with the ship, but with the customer service and the company. Awful office staff with zero problem solving skills. Rude, disinterested and very unhelpful.
"Pleasant ride"
Delightful ride among the Greek Islands to the mainland on a sunny mild July day. Ticket printing idea is a little awkward after purchasing it online. Three agencies next door to each other and not particularly distinguished from each other.
"Great Trip"
Travelling between Piraeus and Naxos was fast, comfortable and very pleasant. The ferries are super clean with plenty of seating and facilities. Lots of staff on hand to provide guidance on where to go. Service was on time. Food was ok and reasonably priced.
"Bad Communication "
My wife broke her leg the day before we were supposed to go on holiday. We called on the 26th of June and spoke to somebody who told us they would check to see if we could re-book for September or get a refund and they said they would call us back or email us. Nearly two weeks later and we have not heard anything from anyone. We booked with direct Ferries last year with no issues so are very disappointed with the service this time.
"Super traversée !"
Pour un prix plus que raisonnable dans la section économique, et si vous arrivez tôt, vous aurez un siège très confortable à l'intérieur du bateau. Et le café du comptoir restaurant est délicieux !
"Could have been better"
Generally efficient service but the crew did not appear friendly. Most of them sat with grumpy face as if they were forced into sitting there. We have been used to very friendly and helpful crew in cruise ships and therefore our expectation was a bit more. Was happy with the punctuality.
"Trip to Paros and Naxos"
Great trip. Bost was on time both trips, employees were helpful and check-in to check out was flawless
"Beware smokers are everywhere a problem if asthmatic "
It all works somehow, the loading, timetable etc. But for us we had a difficult crossing despite enjoying the views including dolphins because of all the cigarette smoking. People bring their own ash trays and smoke inside/outside wherever, the designated smoking areas are also the nicer places to sit outside. Not great if you suffer from asthma as I do.
"Blue Star Naxos"
Lovely smooth trip ,nice comfortable Seats for our 8hr trip qqq
"Great experience"
Having previously travelled many years ago on the larger ships and more recently by the smaller faater hydrofoil from Athens to Paros we were relieved that the experience on the newer much larger ship was smooth, quiet and effortless. The tips I would give to any traveller - take your own snacks - food/drinks expensive. Get your tickets printed by Blue Star office asap to avoid any queues on day of departure. Also get to ship at least 45 mins b4 departure to get good seats. We booked business class which were great - but not allocated seating - so more choice if you are early on board. However all seats, even deck class looked 100% better than experiences of the ships in the 80s!
"Great & reliable service for a pleasant trip "
Excellent ferry service - the ship was clean and tidy in all areas, from deck to the reserved seating rooms. Took the cabin once and it was really comfy. The catering on board is of great quality - for very reasonable prices! Staff is also really helpful.
"Confusing signs and not very helpful staff"
The Ferries are usually late and no information is given. Very bad signposting - many people wandering around lost and trying to find their way out with no staff around to help. The ship is ok and facilities adequate. Good outdoor areas.
"Beautiful trip. Very helpfull staff!! THANKS A LOT!!!"
We arrived at the port in the last minute before departure because our documents had been stolen in Athens. We luckily got emergency passports fast so we rushed to the port while we talked to the great staff at Blue Star Port Offices. They prepared our boarding tickets so that when we arrived we could board super fast. If it weren’for them we would have lost a day in Paros. They helped to take the sad experience in Athens away from our heads and continue our trip as planned!! Thanks!! Thanks Lina!!
"Very, very nice"
We started in economy but the seas were very choppy. I upgraded to first class which was very affordable! We were very comfortable in our cabin. We also stepped outside to the deck lounge and could have used the comfortable seats had we wished. The cabin was comfortable and clean with a full bath, window a beds! We were very pleased!
"from athens to paros"
very nice experience
"Great ride"
Nice ferry ride. No Complaints regarding the ferry. Only complaint I have it that we had to pay an additional 1EUR per person to have our tickets printed at the ticket office. This was not communicated to is before hand and we had taken a few ferries before this, this was the first time the ticket office asked money to print the ticket.
"Very clean cabin "
Extremely pleased with the cabin especially the clean sheets!
"Blue Star Ferries"
Overall service on the ferry was good and I only have two gripes. I couldn't get onto the ship's wifi (I know: first world problem!) but the staff member I asked just said it wasn't working with no further explanation, no apology. It was the same on the return trip. So not being able to access the on-board entertainment, which i figure I've paid for, did affect my overall rating. Also the storage of luggage on open shelves in the garage section of the ferry isn't secure so I didn't feel comfortable leaving my belongings there. Otherwise, no problems. Oh, if you want to have a seat inside I suggest you book one as it can get very crowded. Overall though: satisfied.
"Great service"
Really good service, easy crossings all to schedule and very comfortable on board. Great way to start and end the holiday.
"all aboard!"
We decided to travel to Syros via Piraeus this year and overall it was a good experience. The ferries were clean though obviously very full and the return journey was very rough seas but we had fun out on the deck in the wind! It was easy to book online and also to pick up the tickets at the port. We will travel this way again next year.
"Great service"
Ship leaves and arrives in time. Extra: my son lost a camera on the boat. Thanks to Blue Star he has got it back! I could pick it up in Pirraeus. Thanks!
"Great journey"
Boat left on time, we had a lovely journey. Refreshments available. Storage for suitcases on garage deck means they do not have to be carried up to the seating. We were a group of five ranging from 2 to 68 years, it was great.
"Negative experience"
Some members of the staff were so unpolite in the boat. Crying to people that asked some simple questions like 'where should i put my luggage?' Very dirty toilets. And problems with ventilation inside the boat!
"Very good!!!"
Very good!!
"Ferry to syros"
Ship was great but direct ferries should supply name of ship as cabdriver had trouble finding it.
"An enjoyable experience"
Not used a major ferry in Greece for 30 years, what a difference. Clean, stable in strong wind and fast. Quick on/off
"Ferry"
All good no complaints
"Technical problems, terrible communication"
I recently travelled on a blue star ferry from Mykonos to Piraeus and I have to say it wasn't great. I'd used blue star ferries on a previous trip from Piraeus to Santorini and this was a much better experience, so I'd just like to point out that they aren't always bad. In the case of my trip from Mykonos though, they were bad. For starters, the ship was a lot older, dirtier and in a poorer condition than my previous experience. There was no economy lounge for starters which was a really nice aspect of my first trip. Then, most importantly, the ship has technical issues leaving one of the stop off points. We sat for 90 minutes without any information or announcement from the crew. Finally before we did take off again, we received an announcement that the ship was having technical issues and was delayed for an unknown amount of time. This was very frustrating to not be given a time scale seeing as people would have travel plans etc. We were also given nothing as an apology - a free sandwich or drink would have made the situation a lot more bearable and people would have felt that at least blue star were trying to make up for the delay. When they alighted at Piraeus. Even after the ship finally took off again, there was no information on what time we would arrive at our destination. Subsiquently it was 1hr 40mins late. Blue star ferries don't offer anything to people who have suffered delays on their services.
"Not great"
There were very few seats for economy tickets anyway but the trip was so packed on the way out that there was no where to sit, people were queuing and basically being forced to upgrade to the mountain of 'reserved' seats that were available - when booking, they should really make it clear how few seats there are. we had a simple burger and chips and it was luke warm both there and on the way back. Toilet was overflowing in to the hall on the way there towards the end of the trip. On the way back, it was a completely different ship and basically the only economy seats were in the burger bar, fixed plastic seats at a plastic table - really not great for a 5 and a half hour trip. We upgraded to business which was a massive lounge at the front of the ship not very dissimilar to the seating area in economy on the way going. It was also very empty (seemed like quite a waste). Cost of a coffee in there seemed more than in the normal area but it arrived in a nice glass cup with a biscuit and beer in a glass, though when we ordered a second it arrived in a paper cup as my husbands beer in a plastic cup - so not really consistent in terms of standards. Quite punctual though and quick turnaround. I recommend you thoroughly understand the ship you're booking on, what seating they have so you know what you're paying upfront rather than be stung on board and take your own food if you don't want to pay over the odds for cold food!
"Perfect Ferry journey"
The ferry service from Piraeus and Paros return on the Blue Star Naxos excellent timing, service and comfortable. Would recommend Blue Star Ferries for all journeys May 2017 Mary Holmes UK
"Blue Star Paros "
Sailing from Piraeus to Amorgos; Blue Star Paros is a larger Greek ferry with modern facilities though looking a bit tired and worn. The service is as efficent as ever with departure and arrival times, in calm weather, almost to the published minute. Very reliable. I booked via Direct Ferries and saved money too.
"Great trip"
On time. Comfortable trip.

"No seat"
What a surprise when we noticed that we had no seats and that we had to stay on deck in the cold. I would have liked to have been told, because I would have bought a seat. I was in economy class with other companies and we had a seat. 5:30 on a plastic chair, not cool.
"Still awaiting refund "
We did not travel on this ferry due to the ferry strikes. We have contacted the company on several occasions and still gave not received a refund!
"Great experience!"
Was a little choppy that day but overall would go that route again. Very comfortable.
"very relaxing voyage"
On a lovely morning in early October I sailed to Paros. The ship was bigger than I expected and the voyage was comfortable and the sea was was very calm.
"Piraeus to Paros - Blue Star Ferries"
Contrary to some reviews Direct Ferries ticketing was efficient and problem free. Voucher was exchanged for tickets at port within 5 mins. Ferry was on time both ways and very comfortable with good amenities. All round a very good experience.
"Excellent experience"
We had planned a sailing trip to the Greek Islands and our gathering point was Paros. The whole crew flew to Athens from different points and ferried to Paros. Everyone's trip worked on schedule and the boat were very good and comfortable. No surprises! the ticket purchases over the internet were easy to complete and everyone arrived and departed as planned.
"The grand way is the best"
I love travelling in the grand old style of the Greek ferry. To me, Blue Star is the most recognisable. It may take longer than the current Sea Jets etc, but you really feel in touch with the sea and you can witness the individual island port arrivals and departures. It is also much cheaper than the Sea Jets.Going to Donoussa I travelled at night and so reserved seats which were very comfortable. Returning, we travelled during the day and so sat outside. Facilities were good and the toilet facilities were very clean. This is the second time I've travelled Blue Star and if time is not an issue then this is my preferred method of travel between the Islands. It won't be the last.
"Thankyou"
Enjoyed the trip , the ship was new
"Pleasant trip"
Was enjoyable trip Staff helpful and Very friendly. I enjoy seeing the trip
"Athens to Syros"
All trip went well and without any delay. Perfect.
"Blue Star ferry Syros to Mykonos"
Comfortable journey good views of the islands, nice comfortable modern ship. No hassle embarking or disembarking
"Always blue star"
Love blue star ferries. Always reliable and enjoy the journey at sea. Usually sit outside but under cover. Plenty of seating of all types inside. Eating facilities are fast and efficient for snacks. Bathrooms kept clean
"A very nice way to travel."
I had a lovely comfortable trip. I purchased a seat for my passage and was comfortable the whole time. You can charge devices in there, also. I enjoyed walking around the ship knowing my seat would still be there. Nice large windows for good view. Food at the cafe was good with fast service. Restrooms very clean. Staff helpful and respectful.
"Clean, calm, modern, air conditioned."
We travelled end of May, out of peak season. The boat is very recent, from 2012. Clean, calm, modern, air conditioned. We stayed on the inside deck on an unreserved set of sofa and armchairs with a little table. You can do the same on the outside decks. I had a reservation but no tickets. I had to pick them up. It was swift. With a ticket, seems you can run towards the ferry a minute before departure! My advice. You will be asked to leave your luggage on a rack near by the entrance. You could take a bike locker to attach your bag to the frame for peace of mind during stops.
"Busy crossing"
The ferry was full as I was travelling after the Greek Easter holiday so glad I booked ahead ensuring my seat.
"Take the boat"
Good departure time that suited our travel plans from Piraeus to Naxos. No problems with the 5 hour long trip since the areas were big to move around and the seats were comfortable. Limited food options for such a long trip.
"Blue Star Ferries trip review"
We booked our tickets online, the system was easy and user friendly. We collected the tickets at the kiosk next to the departure area, all the staff were helpful and friendly throughout the trip. The service helped us have a successful start and finish to our holiday, we would certainly use the service again :)
"Fab Trip"
Love these blue star ferries, we only had a short trip but it was fun, safe and on time.
"Wonderful"
The Blue Star ferries are wonderful. They are clean and comfortable and the food and drink available are of good quality and reasonable prices, especially when compared to those on British travel services. Seating can be difficult to find on busy crossing but that is the case the world over unless travelling first class. A great, cheap way to travel throughout the Greek islands. Friendly and helpful staff are easy to find.
"What ' not to like."
We booked on line, many months ago. Arrived at Pireaus and went to get our tickets. The lady was extremely helpful. We boarded and had great journey to Koufonissia. Not for the first time have we enjoyed Blue Star. Thank you.
"Naxos - Amorgos"
Nice with a big ferry with space on deck. Trustworthy and priceworthy.
""
Ship on time, nice trip all perfect
"Syros here we come!"
Allthough full, it was a pleasure to join this ferry, which took us efficently on schedule to our final destination, Syros.
"Great but slow"
Had a great crossing and chose to pay the little extra for business class - glad I did and there were people strewn all over the place looking for somewhere to sit. The ship was delayed though and got into Paros about 30 minutes late. A loooong journey after travelling from the UK.
"Koufunissi Trip"
The holiday is already over... But me, my wife and our two kids (5 and 9 years old) we embarked at the Pireau port to go to Koufunissi: almost 10 hours trip. At the very last moment we decided to buy a cabin. The journey went very good, comfotable, the ship was nice and new, and I will recommend it to all.
"A long but nice journey"
Confortable seats, accurate cleaning, only flaw: Romany gypsies on board (they were annoying), is always the same problem with Blue Star Ferries.
"PIREAU-PAROS"
MAXIMUM PUNCTUALITY, KIND STAFF
"Holidays Koufonissi"
No problems at all, times respected, clean ship, too bad that the website could not made us a second reservation.
"Recommended"
This was my forth trip between Piraeus and Naxos with Blue Star Ferries and as always it was a pleasant journey. This time it was not very full, but either way I would recommend any traveller getting Business Class tickets, as this grants access to the entire ship and is an opportunity to findin your own private corner at the ships front.
" a very comfortable trip"
The ferry trip was pleasant and very comfortable, friendly staff and good time keeping, better than what I expect.
"Pleasant trip from Naxos"
Ship provided relaxing no hassles trip from Naxos to Piraeus. The boarding and disembarkation processes were efficient and the ship docked very close to the Metro allowing easy access to Central Athens.
"Day trip to islands"
Great boats. Punctual, clean and that great blue Aegean Sea. What more do you want.
"Comfortable journey"
We had a very early start for the ferry at 07.25 from Piraeus, but even though we arrived at the port an hour ahead of that time we were allowed onto the ship straight away, which meant we got really good seats inside the economy class cabin. The voyage itself was uneventful except for the high winds at Naxos which necessitated interrupting the disembarkation of passengers as the ramp started to drag sideways across the end of the quay. The crew were very quick and highly professional in their response to the situation and everyone got off safely at the second attempt. The facilities on board were good and we had a very pleasant journey.
"Blue Star Paros"
Probably best to reserve a seat at least as general economy does not guarentee one.
"All's well"
The registration process is fairly straightforward and most-importantly - ended with me and my wife having a pleasant journey from-to Piraeus and Syros. Catering consisted of typical Greek bread-snacks and a Goody's restaurant - a popular fast-food there which I strongly dislike but well - that's just a matter of taste. Prices are sort-of high, but not overwhelmingly so. Obviously, as it is everywhere in Greece, smoking is permitted pretty much everywhere - it's not a big problem though as the breeze clears the air nicely. I don't remember any information that the voucher you end up with must be exchanged to actual tickets in the port half an hour prior to departure - it should be stressed somewhere at the end of registration / on the ticket. Bear in mind the "I don't remember" part though - I might have forgotten that it was.
"Lovely crossing"
As always, a great crossing from Naxos to Ios with Blue Star Ferries. Excellently organised and all the facilities that you could want. We however, needed nothing more than a seat on deck watching the islands pass by. The Aegean was like a Mill pond that day.
"Blue Star Ferries"
Excellent service, on time & clean ship with helpfull staff. The ship we sailed on was the Blue Star Naxos.
"great outbound, horrible return"
perfect outbound, but the return from Naxos to Pireaus has been a nightmare because the ship was to full. Passengers sleeping everywhere, dirty things everywhere, dogs inside the ship in the common areas. Never again. Tahnks
"air conditioning too strong"
unfortunately the air conditioning was too strong
"mykonos to syros"
fantastic trip. great staff. ferry was on time and made a great start to our holiday.
"Ferry service from Athens to Mykonos"
Booking via directferries was easy. The ferry service all worked without a hitch. The ship is large and spacious and it is one of the best options going from Athens to Cycladic Isles. It makes for a nice transfer from the capital to the Isles.
"Excellent!"
The 1 hour 15 min journey from Mykonos to Syros was excellent on a comfortable, modern ferry. We sat at the back and enjoyed the wake and the scenery, and watching the loading and unloading of the ferry during its brief stop at Tilos. We had heavy suitcases so it was very helpful to have escalators to take us from ground level to the upper decks. I was surprised at how easy it was to book on line, compared to in previous years. I recommend picking up the tickets from a ticket agency before you travel, this can be done days beforehand, as far as I know. The time had changed to 2 hours later, so it was as well that we checked the ticket.
"modern ship, comfortable and on time"
The ship is modern, equipped with suitable access to all passengers. We arrived on time at the port of Piraeus and above the pier closest to the train (some docks are a 20 minute walk from the train).
"Nice way to travel"
If you want to get where you're going in a hurry, take a plane or one of the superfast ferries. If you want to enjoy the ride, sit out on the deck and take in the sights and the ocean breeze, then blue star is the way to go. No complaints. Pleasant, comfortable and on time :)
"Comfortable trip"
It was a comfortable ride. The staff on board were very friendly. Recommend this crossing and ferry to anyone travelling in this area. Blue Star Ferries one of the best services offered in Greece in my humble opinion.
"Naxos trip with BSF Naxos ferry"
Wonderful Greece delivers again! Why travel with charter when it is so easy to book the travel on your own! This trip I made with my husband and our girls ages 3 and 5! The journey began 31st May, perfect time in Greece, and lasted until June 15th. We flew from Copenhagen to Athens with SAS. Landed at lunch and took a taxi to Piraeus, the bus is not recommendeded! The boat went in the afternoon so we had plenty of time. With reservation number we got the tickets in the harbour at Blue Ferries office. We boarded the ferry one hour prior to departure. I don't recommend the alternative fast ferries when travelling with children as they can move freely aboard the bigger ships. The trip to Naxos itself took about 5 hours but the time went very quickly. Naxos is a lovely island with beautiful sandy beaches and no large hotel complex. We stayed at Hotel Katarina in the village next to Naxos town - a perfect family hotel near the beach that i recommended highly! After a little more than 2 weeks at Naxos, we felt ready to go home, the boat went to Athens in the morning so at lunch we were in Athens and in the evening we flew back to Copenhagen!
"Very pleasant trip"
Nice ferry and it provided us with a very comfortable crossing on this trip. The crossing was exactly on time too so bravo to the team at Blue Star Ferries.
