Operated by Tirrenia on the Porto Torres Genoa route
The Sharden is a truly unique ship with either side of the vessel covered in impressive Batman designs. On one side it displays Batman and Robin, with the other showing The Caped Crusader battling with his archenemy, The Joker. Built in 2005 as an evolution of the Bithia class, the Sharden travels at a top speed of 24 knots. It is capable of transporting 2908 passengers and 850 cars on each journey. The ship is stocked full of food and drink options, modern shopping facilities, a cinema, satellite televisions and a children’s area for young voyagers.
There are cabins on offer for up to 1212 guests to enjoy this unique sailing experience. 952 armchairs are scattered throughout the vessel with room for a further 744 passengers on the bridge.
When Moby Lines renovated their fleet the menu also got a shakeup. The new catering options include typical dishes from Sardinia, Sicily, Campania and Liguria. Travellers can choose from the restaurant, the self service area and the bar to pick up refreshments. Food and drink dispensers provide a quick snack option for those not looking a sit down meal.
A new shopping area has been arranged where markets and stores offer basic and typical produces of the regions reached by Tirrenia ferries. You will also find books, local arts and crafts as well as technical objects;
Cinemas on board that show films only a few months after their premiere. As well as screens showing the latest blockbusters there are satellite televisions in public areas.
There is a children’s play area on board to keep the young voyagers occupied during their travels.
The ship is adapted to cater for those travelling with disabilities and restricted mobility.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Sharden guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

"Comfortable"
Nice cabin all well but £4 for a small bottle of Becks!
"Not the best night sleep"
We took the overnight ferry from Sardinia to Rome, however everything in our cabin (066) rattled and neither my wife or I got any sleep. On top of that the bathroom looked and smelt like it hadn't been cleaned for a few trips.
"Great trip"
We sailed from Olbia to Civitavecchia then onto Rome. The ship was great, everything you need. The cabin was a little noisy due to the vibrations from the engine but this is unavoidable. Would definitely do again.
"Sharden review August 2018"
Good organisation on the ground for loading and the ship seemed quite tidy and in good condition when we finally boarded. We had booked an outside cabin, two beds and with sea view and when we arrived we discovered that it hadn't been cleaned from the previous visitors, there was even a finger nail clipping on the table by the bed, disgusting! The room was awful as was the bathroom and had never been cleaned properly in it's life with dirt having been over-painted on the toilet floor!! It really was a poor experience. We were given an alternative room with 4 bunk beds so not the same. The rest of the ship was OK but the food and drinks are expensive so take your own.
"Good Service "
Boarding was quick and efficient
"Nice way of traveling"
For environmental reasons we decided to go on holiday to Sardinia by train and ferry (from Amsterdam) and the boat ride was a good experience- wonderful views, good cabin, great restaurant. Only the timing was a bit weird, as almost all restaurants closed a little over an hour after departure, and the wake-up call was one and a half hour before arrival, at 5:30 am. The ferry was supposed to arrive at 6:30 am, but it was not until 7:15 before we were able to leave the ship and we have to rush to catch our train connection to Nice. And having Italian-only speaking staff at the reception in the middle of the holiday season is not very practical.
"Quiet trip"
Excellent
"Porto Torres ferry"
Excellent impression from the beginning, nice welcoming started from the staff at the ticket office and at the boarding. Clean enviroments, and clean cabin.
"Work trip"
Depsite the rough sea the ship had no delay, the cabin was excellent and silent. Thanks Tirrenia
"Porto Torres - Genoa"
I had an excellent trip and a nice dinner for a reasonable price. I hope the return trip will be comfortable and pleasant.
"Satisfied"
Precise and on time
"I changed my mind..."
I haven't used Tirrenia for years due to the complaint in Sardinia, but this year I booked with them, they had the cheapest price compared to other companies. I'm very satisfied, staff was helpful and the ferry clean.
"Trip with Tirrenia"
Staff is really professional and helpful. Cabins, coffee and air conditioned are not the best.
"Tirrenia ferry "
The toilets should be cleaner
"great trip"
it's the second time that I'm going to Sardinia, departure always on time. Recommended
"my experience"
I travelled with my family with Tirrenia, good self service restaurant and comfortable cabin. Recommended
"Porto Torres - Genoa"
quiet trip, the reserved seats are not comfortable. It's better if you sleep on the floor
"Loyal customer"
this time I have to write a negative feedback. Too many people sleeping on the floor and too many dogs inside. No one from the staff was caring about the situation. Dirty cabins and toilets…… I couldn’t brush my teeth
"safe trip"
quiet and relaxing trip. Good music
"all good, much better than the past"
on time, clean and tidy. A lot of services on board: bar, music, playing area for children, good restaurants. Recommended
"quiet trip"
relaxing and great trip. It's a shame that there is always people sleeping everywhere on the floor
"trip Porto torres-genova"
excellent trip, air conditioning to high
"positive"
happy about this trip. Thank you for everything
"polite and friendly…."
I booked online and during the check in at the port I asked to have a cabin but the guy at the office didn't want to find me the place so he just said that I had to pay €220 to add it. I was shocked. I asked the same at the reception on board and I paid €106.00. How can it be possible?
"Good experience"
I would give everything 5 stars, but because everything can always be improved, I will give this experience a four and a half. Friendly staff, super delicious food at the restaurant and, unlike last year, both during the outward and return trip, there was a live performance at the bar. Compliments to the gentleman who performed on the return trip, on Tuesday 22nd of July, from Porto Torres to Genoa. I still doubt if it was not the real Eros Ramazzotti, in disguise. So no bad comments, excellent!
"trip on July 2014"
Regarding my trip, all went well, clean cabin. The only negative thing are the other passengers that as soon as they board they use all the space at the bar to sleep and drink. I understand that they can sleep on the carpet but not at the bar. And the staff never complaint about that, someone should avoid this situations.
"An acceptable service, but they can improve"
We traveled on the ship Sharden, round trip. The ship was large so no problem with rough seas. Our inside cabin comfortable enought. Public areas are large but not enoght due to all the peolple without cabin that sleep everywhere. We didn't try the food except a coffee and a cappuccino (both good) .The staff is friendly and the ship on time.
"my first trip to Sardinia"
It's not the first time that I travel by ferry, but it's the first time in Sardinia. I'm very impressed about the service on board, departure on time, cleanliness, staff helpful and friendly. Thank you
"Round trip Genova-Porto Torres, June 2014"
We travelled with Tirrenia from Genova to Porto Torres. Common area very clean and the crew very professional and polite. The service quality was good but not the restaurant. We had a self-service dinner and the food was poor and not well cooked. Price to high for that low quality. Cabin clean and confortable
"Genoa-Porto Torres with Tirrenia"
I've travelled alone with two small children, but I can say that it was one of the best journey I have done. The staff at check-in was very nice, in the garage, they were helpful and available. The cabins are clean and the beds are larger than usual. We arrived on time and the disembarkment was quick and well organised.
"a great trip"
Thank God that there is the Tirrenia to travel between Porto Torres and Genoa, we feel less trapped on the island and we have the assurance of a daily and efficient travel service… Congratulations.
"the tirrenia"
The ship was beautiful, clean and confortable. However, it would be better if it wasn't so cold on board!!!
"GREAT - THANKS"
Everything went well, the cabin was perfect. Thanks.
"genoa - porto torres crossing"
a bad organisation to attribute the cabins. Family with kids have to wait for too long. No announcement is made is French.
"Excellent Journey"
my travel was very good, the embarking/disembarking procedures were fast, the cabin was clean, very good services, I would make this trip again..
"No English spoken!"
The cabin was fine and the dinner was ok, served by a charming waiter! The only trouble was that ALL notifications over the load speaker were in Italian only! So we didn't know what was going on!
"Ferry Sharden - Genoa to Porto Torres "
"The ship is already getting old., The device (eg bathroom) already looks" "used". Although we have booked a 2- cabin, we are housed in a 4-cabin. Of course, only the two of us - but we had a 2 he expects cabin (ie just 2 and not 2 * 2 beds). The staff is friendly, the ferry runs on time and off. The Board complies normal canteen food. "
"poor Cleaning"
Ship wasn't clean enough in my opinion.
"Traveling with Tirrenia "
Well then, the crossing from Porto Torres to Genoa and the equipment of the ferry was quite good. However us a few things have bothered that we were used to from another ferry company manufactures. First you had to pick up the ticket at the port office and if you do not know exactly where it is (bad Reported) can quickly rise times of stress. Okay, the next time you do it, yes. Secondly, we had a toddler with a cabin directly above the bar it was hell loud (until 23:30 clock) and could remain the same in the bar. Unfortunately, no sun loungers or chairs were on deck where one could enjoy the starry sky. Conclusion: If we had known that before, we could cope with it . We would ride again.
"satisfied "
Very speedy and hassle-free loading and when arriving in Genoa, unfortunately due to a defect almost 2 hours of waiting time in the garage deck! Rooms and sanitary facilities clean but pretty worn (toilet seat, shower) For this price, still a good choice.
"Genova - Porto Torres and return in August 2013"
We will forget that trip. Tirrenia services are well below what you can expect for the price you pay (820€ for 4 people + a car). 4 first class seats booked: on the boat, they tell us that those seats no longer exist and that we can either be refunded partially and get second class seats or pay extra and get a cabin. After debating for 20 minutes, we managed to get a cabin without paying a supplement. I wouldn't recomment this company which doesn't care about their clients.
"My crossing with Tirrenia"
The food was poor The cabin looked old The crossing was very expensive Bad value for money A 1h30 delay
