"Batman boat"
We booked this for our young son to enjoy something unusual. The boat was good but for families with young children there was limited if any help/priority with getting to and from the car decks; this would have been nice. Otherwise nothing to complain about.
"What title?"
I can understand people sleeping in the corridors of the ship but not dogs doing a pee everywhere where possible - honestly everywhere . Discusting !
"Viaggio da Genova a Porto Torres su Nuraghe"
Abbiamo viaggiato in cabina, nave molto pulita, personale gentile, noi eravamo in due ci hanno assegnato una cabina a quattro posti. Prezzo molto scontato. Lo consiglio.
"Annoying "
Over one and a half hours late during that time no explanation given very poor I throughly those days were over, you have a duty to keep your customer informed we do have other commitments you Failed miserably, on what Would have been a pleasant trip
"Cabin next to the engine"
We were unfortunate to be (not) sleeping in a cabin next to the engines. Noise was very loud which made it impossible to sleep. Frederic
"Good - Better - ugly"
Loading organized, accommodation good, food better than some other ships, ugly, they got us out of the cabins and then let us all sit over the boat for 2.5 hours while it turned out they unloaded the trucks, lot of crying baby's, barking dogs and sweating people, real ugly
"Some Details could be better "
U offer Birra de la Espina and serve it in plastic!!!! On deck it would good to have some places to sit done. It would be good, that the à la carte Restaurant would open at 7pm and not at 7:30pm
"Genoa to Porto Torres Round Trip"
This was our second trip to Sardinia with Tirrenia, and we enjoyed it as much as we did we did the first time. The Check-in, Security Clearance and Boarding processes are fairly straightforward, and like an airpot require some patience as it takes some time to load hundreds of cars and passengers onto a ship. Once onboard, the Officers and Crew are VERY Courteous and helpful, and speak enough English to offer assistance. We always book a cabin so we can sleep on the 12 hour journey and have a private toilet and shower. The cabins are quiet, roomy, clean, well-equipped with towels and linens and the bunks offer a comfortable night's sleep. Many passengers book a reclining sleeper seat, or set up camp on the deck. The self-service cafeteria offers good food, although a bit pricey, and has a number of window tables from which to enjoy the view. A Real Treat is the morning Breakfast Bar, at which you can order Delicious Italian Coffee, Croissants, and Fresh-Squeezed Orange Juice. There is a children's playroom, card room, bar, big screen Italian TV. Internet is slow, we bring books or our own movies to watch. In general, the ship is clean, tidy, and well-maintained. It normally leaves and arrives close to on-time, but the debarkation process is time-consuming and often takes close to an hour after arrival, depending on which deck you are parked on.
"Great "
Transport food but easy and friendly and comfortable
"Porto Torres by sea"
Although the access to checking in was not so glamorous (through a shopping centre at Genoa), the ship was great and a fun trip. We booked an outside cabin which was all that was needed and although the bedside light didn’t work, everything else was fine. Food in the self-catering restaurant was good and staff were helpful in all regards. Ship has a bit of faded glamour about, but it is an excellent way to arrive anywhere. Would recommend it. Crossing was a bit blowy at times, but not a problem if you’re an OK sea traveller.
"Genoa to Porto Torres - Terrenia Ferries"
Outbound checkin and boarding very straightforward. Return trip not so! After entering the port, and queuing to board, we were told that our booking confirmation was not a ticket, and several of us had to leave the port and drive to the Maritime Station, in Porto Torres, queue and get a bar coded ticket issued. We wish we had know this in advance. Booking direct with Terrenia apparently gets you this document via email. Cabins both ways were clean and acceptable.
"Great overnight from Genova to Porto Torres"
This was our first trip on a car ferry and we were a bit concerned as we walked through the car parking area and then up to the passenger reception. Once we entered the doorway to reception all our concerns vanished. This was a very nicely appointed ship and had all the necessary facilities and crew. We had an inside cabin that would sleep four easily and had plenty of space as we were only two. There was a private bath with shower which was very nice for cleaning up in the morning. We had no problems sleeping and found the bar/ lounge to have very nice snacks and drinks. All in all a very good trip even if our cabin door was a bit sticky and required a bit of shoving to open from the hallway.
"Very good trip Genoa -> Porto Torres"
I used the ferry for a 5 day trip to Sardinia travelling by motorbike. Booking with Direct Ferries was easy and a change I made to accommodation worked fine. Direct Ferries give you vouchers that must be exchanged for the tickets at the office in Genoa - this is located on the 1st floor of the Ferry Terminal Shopping Centre. Luckily being on a bike I could just park it on the pavement and nip in - it is a very congested area so not sure how that would work with a car. I headed down to embarkation about 3 hours before the ferry left just to get out of the mayhem of Genoa. All worked well, I was given a voucher for my cabin and joined the queue. Good thing in Genoa is that you could walk through to the shopping centre after joining the queue and parking up. Boarding was quick and easy, cabin key was collected from reception and luckily I was given a 4 berth cabin. It was clean and functional, shower worked well, no complaints at all. Snack bar had various sandwiches and pastries or you could get a full meal in the restaurant - I didn't bother. After 11 hours of riding that day I was in my cabin at 9pm and slept through. Ship arrived on time and unloading was stress free. All in all an excellent trip.
"Great time"
The ship is a bit dated but it actually is a good thing - for 12 hours or so we got transported to a that great tine way back when everyone travelled by car and this ferry ride was a pinnacle of the experience. Quite luxurious, even if if dated (which, again, is a great experience)
"Slept well"
We were happy with our cabin. Slept well and arrived well-rested in Sardinia. On the return trip, we travelled with Moby. Apparently they no more cabins available. Tried to sleep in a chair, very uncomfortable. I'll never do that again.
"a wonderful surprise"
A wonderful surprice, a big breakthrough. The only negative thing is the prece of the ticket, too high for residents. Thank you for all yor commitment and thanks to all the staff.
"Kindness and professionality of the staff on board"
The 19/08 I travelled from Genoa to Porto Torres, and I forgot my mobile phone in the cabin. The staff contacted me telling me that I could ask for it at the reception during my return journey. I really need to thank all the staff for the kindness, the service and the onesty.
"Journey Genova Porto Torres and riturn"
I travelled a lot to go to Sardinia, and usaully with Tirrenia since 1964!! Services are really improved, but still there is a problem with people bringing dogs in the cabins! You should control more on board becouse is about hygiene!
"good, but not everything!"
I went on holiday with my family, and we booke the reserved seats, I can say that in conclusion the journey went well. There was a bit of rough sea. I did not like the staff on board serving at the coffee shop, they all were very rude, I never heard the words "Hello" or "Thank" this is not a good thing for the immagine of the company. For all the rest I cannot complain.
"Tirrenia"
Too mani dogs, they get dirty everywere. Waiters too slow setting tables, excellent and fast food. Clean cabin.
"Porto Torres Genoa"
Enjoyabla trip and excellent organization of boarding landing procedure.
"Nuraghes ship"
We travelled from Genoa to Porto Torres, clean ship, friendly crew (almost everyone). Really slow landing.
"Ticket realese"
Tickets should not be printed at Porto Torres, because the port office there are really far away from the wharf, so you need to have enough time to print them. Fortunatly, in my case, there were no queue.
"Tirrenia Improved"
Compliments to Tirrenia, services really improved. I cannot rate the restaurant because I did not eat. Cleaning can be improved
"A beautiful trip"
The only flaw is that the ticket price was very high, even if i'm originally from Sardinia. Only residents can get a discount.
"Perfect trip!!"
We travelled from Genoa to Porto Torres and return with 2 children (3 and 6 years old), on a night crossing, in a first class cabin. Everything was perfect, from the boarding operations to the accommodation. The cabin was very clean, with sheets and hand towels. We booked in advance and we got an excellent price. I think the restaurant prices are a bit expensive.
"Sardinia"
excellent
"All good"
Really comfortable ferry, clean and with good services
"Genova-Porto Torres June2015"
Adequate service.
"cabin "
I've got a beautiful cabin close to the stairs
"Overall good and punctual"
No waiting, service, quality and staff skills were comform to the type of trasport. (Ferry).
"Route Civitavecchia-Olbia "
We travelled with Tirrenia, route Civitavecchia- Olbia and return, and we had a nice experience. The ferry was clean and the service excellent, 100% better than years ago. The only issue was the air conditioned, it was too high in the receptionion and playground. Also one of the person in the reception was really rude with some customers. I hope they'll treat us better next time.
"Nice well orhanised crossing"
Check in @ Olbia was very easy, (nice pizza upstairs in terminal!) was allowed on the ferry nearly 2 hours early so could go into cabin etc. Crossing & transfers (incl to train station on arrival) all excellent. Cabin v clean and surprisingly roomy!
"with Tirrenia from Civitavecchia to Olbia and return"
congratulations to Tirrenia for our amazing trip on august 2014. clean ship, departure on time and everything well organized. Cheers
"comfortable ship"
night crossing with cabin: big and comfortable. Departure on time. Tickets too expensive if you travel with all your family
"civitavecchia/olbia 23/08"
departure with 2 hours late, not a good review
"august"
old ship but still good
"my trip"
nice and helpful staff. Good bar service. You can travel with your dog and that's amazing. Reserved seat uncomfortable. I recommend to book a cabin if you're travelling in a night crossing. Thank you
"trip"
not bad
"Olbia Civitavecchia"
old ship but good crossing
"Tirrenia ships always late"
As usual, the departure was 1 hour and a half late from Civitavecchia. We left at 4pm instead of 2.30pm. And it took 5hours and a half instead of 5hours to arrive at Olbia port.
"1h and a half late"
almost 2 hours late outbound and return.. Shame!
"trip civitavecchia-olbia"
good trip, but uncomfortable seats for 6 hours especially for children
"excellent crossing"
it doesn't have cool drawings outside but the important thing is that it's safe and comfortable. Amazing trip from Civitavecchia to Olbia and reurn.
"journey"
Ferry trip unremarkable. On time, docked on time and embarking and disembarking efficient.
"Direct Ferries: cheap and great service"
good and easy website, excellent customer service and I saved money comparing with Tirrenia website (around 10%) Highly reccomended
"a very good crossing"
great, nothing to fault
"reliable for years"
At the end, it's always the best!
"a comfortable journey"
For people like me who travel for work, the journey is comfortable and by travelling by night, you don't loose a day of work… I recommend it.
"A return crossing between Civitavecchia and Olbia"
I travelled with my Belgian Shepherd puppy on the ferry deck and I prefer the night crossing. The staff was very nice and I really enjoyed it. I'll choose the direct crossing again for my next trip to Sardinia!
"unbelievable"
Every thing was fine we have arrived one hour earlier more than I was expected!!!
"Journey with Tirrenia"
very punctual on departure and arrival but with a slow disembarkation procedure, good on board services.
"toilet + shower cabin "
Apparently the shower + toilet cabins are small removable container. This was apparently older than the whole ship. In the narrow corners dirty and clogged toilet that you hardly could use.'s Why one star less. During the night, constantly loud announcements, in the cabin speakers, so that you were woken constantly. Otherwise, in general, for a night crossing quite well.
"Tirrenia night transfer Civitavecchia - Olbia "
Good value for money as a transfer option (cabins are quite cheap) Dock in Civitavvechia extremely hard to find and access by foot, Especially for foreigners (no clear signs, no real walking path) Public transport transfer to Civitavecchia and from Olbia very hard to use for foreigners (everything in Italian, very few signs overall, hard to reassure wheter one is on the right way) Fairly old ship, very limited food and entertainment options
"Very acceptable"
We are satisfied with our second journey with Tirrenia. Boarding was very long this time for the cars. The cabin was clean. The ferry was punctual.
"All the best! Gladly again! "
Good organization. Rapid clearance. Cabin # 193 okay on outward journey. On the return trip cab 209 super! EAT also okay. Chefs and service is fast and helpful. Thank you!
"Easy and comfortable way to travel"
Clean and comfortable facilities, good catering. Somewhat surprising was inability of staff to communicate in English and the movie in Italian with Italian subtitles. Otherwise, the experience was pretty good.
"Congratulations"
I was really surprised, I found all the services improved in comparison to a year ago.. Congratulations for the service.. Carlo D'antoni
"Need more staff"
In my personal opinion I think that they should have much more staff looking after passengers. I also saw a lot of elderly people and children going around without finding a place to sit, and other passengers occupying the seats with luggage and jackets...
"Direct ferries service was perfect in comparison with the Tirrenia one."
We didn't have any problem to book through direct ferries, the staff were exemplary. Unfortunately I was obliged to take the Journey with tirrenia, because they have eliminated all the other companies and this is so sad!
"Tirrenia trip"
Excellent trip, but the ticket was too expensive and the carper and sofas on board of the ferry were dirty.
"Tirrania"
Tirrenia ferry has a deck without seats and departed with a h2 delay, arrived at destination at h23.00, instead of h20.30. Basically, including the hour spent to get home, we travelled for h12. Nobody bothered to give us an explanation about the delay, the ferry was overcrowded and there were dogs everywhere. It was a nightmare, nothing to compare with Moby Lines that we used for the outbound trip, seats on deck, windbreak and outside bar!!! I also have to say that the ticket is very expensive!!!
"Transport"
I've travelled during low season, without a vehicle. The only flaw is that there are no other transport connections neither in Olbia nor in Civitavecchia.
"Bon Voyage with Tirrenia"
We have travelled with the car, the embarking/disembarking procedures were really fast, the toilets were clean, the bar prices too expensive, I can't imagine the prices at the restaurant… Good service.
"I am not satisfied at all"
I have travelled with the same ship in both journeys, the ferry was clean and the toilets as well, the members of the staff were really helpful. During the return trip the ferry was smelly, the armchairs that we have booked were broken, there were no checks on the free seats, the disembarking procedure took 40 minutes more than the usual, the price of the ticket was too expensive for the season, the seats were not included. Moby lines is better but much more expensive.
"Freight service!"
It's unacceptable to sell deck place tickets without assigning to all passengers a place to seat! They should mention it during the booking. The ferry reming me of a cattle cart! Excellent coffee.
"Prices and delay"
I don't understand why I travelled with my car on the 08/08/13, with a h1 delay and we arrived in Olbia at h16.30 (instead of h14.30). I spent €176 for the outbound journey and €260, 20 days later, for the return (same pax on deck + car). Perhaps the fuel increased and I didn't realise it! I went to visit my parents and I was born in Sardinia (Cagliari). Thanks for the ospitality but I think I won't travel again with Tirrenia. At least other ferry operators, if you are a Sardinia native, would offer a discount.
"Cleanness"
The cleanness of the toilets should be improved.
"beautiful crossing "
The crossing was very nice, ship OK, staff friendly, language almost exclusively italian (presumably because of departure in Rome / Civitavecchia, 99% Roman on board). Too bad that the whole ship was crowded with sleeping passengers on all corners.
"Poor seating allocation"
In this ferry , the members of the staff were giving instruction on the occupancy of the free seats only by the use of the loud speakers instead of checking it personally, it was really disappointing because not everyone had the opportunity to sit, in the other companies the situation is different.
"Poor"
Considering how much you charge for a ticket you should invest at least 1/4 of that amount on the ferry. Do you want to save money? During the night switch off all the lights so the passengers can rest. You should invest some money and get someone to clean the toilets at least 2 or 3 times (I haven't seen anyone cleaning the toilets). The client needs to be listened and considered but, from my personal experience, i think you will sink if you don't invest in the service. You have just lost a client.
"Trip to Sardinia"
The outbound trip went very well. We travelled with seats on a night crossing. On the return we couldn't book the seats and we had to stand or seat on the floor. Some passengers occupied for the whole journey the seating area at the bar. I don't think this is fair, everyone should have the right to sit at least for a while. The staff on board should check. The rest was good.
"Tirrenia trip"
In the previous years we've travelled with Moby. We've been travelling with Tirrenia for the past 2 years (it's cheaper) and we noticed that the ferries, services and staff on board it's better.
"Trip to see The Wall concert in Rome"
A standard trip, quiet and comfortable. Staff on board was helpful. The ferry arrived on time.
"A good crossing"
Decent prestations
"Civitavecchia/Olbia Crossing"
Confortable cabin Welcoming staff Very clean
"Customer service needs to be improved"
The duration of the trip was respected. We would have liked some seats on the outer deck. We had to lay down on the floor. It was crowded inside. People were sleeping on the floor. It's not glorious for Tirrenia. The restaurants and the cafeterias close too early. The staff only speaks Italian and doesn't make any effort to help. Only money matters. We were blocked for one hour after arriving without any explanation To summarise, customer satisfaction doesn't seem to be TIRRENIA's priority!
"Review on Tirrenia"
Good morning from Biagio. I've travelled with Tirrenia for many years and my experience has been positive. However, during high season, prices are too high and many friends renounce on summer holiday to Sardinia as it's too expensive. Regards Biagio
"Crossing from Olbia "
xx
"Sail"
Travelling by ferry is more pleasant and less stressful, the trip duration is approximately the same and, if you travel during the night, you gain an extra day of holiday. Travel in the right way and enjoy the trip.
"An Italian prestation"
The crossing was correct overall. It's a good value for money.. However, as in many places in Italy, the service was poor. I think that having 5 people (for one till) at the cafeteria was a bit excessive. It was making the queue longer and our meals were getting cold. Moreover, it was impossible to get a meal outside set hours (12pm-2pm). It would also be good to have benches/outside chairs outside to be able enjoy the weather, the sea and the wind like Greek ferries have.
"Very good service "
Both my wife and me were very happy about the great journey we had. We had a very good atmosphere of tranquility. All our gratitute to the staff.
"Ferry to Olbia"
Ship was clean, quiet and on time. You cannot ask for more. The crew was polite and helpful.
"Territorial continuity"
Very bad experience, I found the Sardinia ferry and also the Saremar better than this lot. The bar area was too cold, the deck area too small there were no seats, the armchair area was closed.
"sardinia holiday"
Excellent trip on both journeys...we didn't have any problem. The cabin was clean and equipped with all comforts. For us was all good except for the high ticket price. It's a shame not be able to go to Sardinia cause of the ferry ticket fares. Thanks
"assessment "
The ship arrived with some delay in Olbia, but was not a big problem.
"Trip with Tirrenia"
The ship from Olbia to Civitavecchia was a bit old. The return price for one person with a car was too expensive €447 and it doesn't encourage the tourist. Travelling on deck costs €175 and you will see people sleeping on the floor and on the bar sofas. I think they should offer more competitive fares and a better service, affordable to anyone. Thanks
"Little late"
The trip was great, was just a little late, but otherwise everything went well.
"Interesting experience"
We took the boat to Sardinia and the journey in itself went well. It's a pity that the location of ticket collection office and the boat is badly sign posted. To disembark the boat you must turn around the car. You can forget about a quiet night on the boat, it rattles all over and you can constantly hear the droning of the engine. It's not worth the money I paid for it. The announcements on the boat are in Italian only. Despite a large number of Germans, Swedish, British, Belgian and Dutch passengers they are not plannig to speak English. This is a serious matter in case of shipwreck.
