"Can recommend "
Except for an hour delay, nothing to complain about
"Great way to travel!"
Moby seems to have adequate ships to cross from Italy to Corsica.
"Delays"
We took a return ferry from Piombino to Bastia, but there were constant delays due to which we were late to get to our accomodation causing us an inconvenience. We had to pay extra for a late check in!!
"Livorno - Bastia"
We had a nice trip between Livorno and Bastia. Very nice to be able to dit outside in deck!
"Trip from livorno to bastia"
We were really looking forward to the trip. To our dissapointment we had to wait an extra hour in the burning sun because the ship was late. The loading/ unloading was not organised wel. We saw a bigger ferry from corsica ferries dock at the same time, and it was unloaded and loaded faster. It left more then a half hour before our boat. During your stay the intercom repeatedly announces that you can eat and drink in the sport bar way to loud. Would definitely not recommend Moby lines to anyone.
"my recent trip"
The boat was on time but the service wasn't that great.
"Outrageous phone bill!!"
On the trip to Korsika I received some mails from Friends with pictures and opened them, knowing that we are having mobile data everywhere in Europe now. But then came the big fright: arrived in Korsika I got a Bill over 50€ for receiving 10 pictures. For me, that‘s scam! I have contacted the telephone company and they referred to the ferry. There is probably an agreement i guess. Such a thing is unacceptable. If money has to be demanded then at least within an acceptable range.
"Always late? "
Seems to be always 40-60 m late..
"Disaster"
A blazing hot day and foot passengers kept in baking heat while cars are loaded until someone eventually responds to shouts from some passengers with small children. Ferry left 45 minutes late, no explanation, and arrived in Bastia 1 hour and 45 minutes late. My train had left 30 minutes earlier so had no way of travelling on to Corte, had to book a room in Bastia and get train the following day. Didn’t want to repeat the experience on the way back so wasted my return ticket with Moby and came back with Corsica Ferries, a professional ferry service and a ferry that was light years from the Moby Lines.
"Livorno to Bastia"
We arrived by train at Livorno Centrale and asked in the Tabacchi in the station for tickets, and what bus to get for the port. We also asked the bus driver to let us know when to get off. She was very helpful as not only did she do so, she told us we could get another bus, and where from, or just to walk as it was only a few minutes. We chose to walk but, although it was easy enough to find, there were no signs telling us where to enter the port. We made an educated guess which was the correct one, where the cars etc go in. The ferry crossing itself was very pleasant and relaxing, taking around 4 hours. Stay on deck and watch the departure, sit in one of the lounges and read, and also watching the arrival in Bastia. The port in Bastia is very central and it took us about ten minutes to walk to our hotel.
"bastia to Livorno by Mobi"
started badly at Bastia. No instruction for foot passengers as to where access to boarding was. Having exited at one point an arrival were surprised that we had 400 M to walk for return point of entry. For two elderly people with luggage this was difficult . at check in I asked whether a bus was available for the next 400 M to the ship . after 50 m a bus miraculously appeared much to our relief. reaching the ship we then had to climb five flights of stairs with our luggage. On the Livorno to Bastia crossing we had been taken by lift. no such service was now available I am 79 and wife 78 . This climb with luggage was almost too much. Then we had another two flights to reach our reserved seats. Thereafter we had an enjoyable crossing at leisure in the sun. There was significqnt delay before disembarking but I understand that vehicles must leave first. No real instruction was offered but with enquiry we were offered a descent with a lift . A great relief. Asking about taxis at Livorno I was offered a taxi number which I could not contact but found a taxi rank on reaching pier. The advisor did not seem to know that this existed but told us of a bus every 10 minutes. I can see that crossing with ons own car would be simple but perhaps consideration could be given to foot passengers.

Enjoyed the trips -
"a test of patience "
over 1 hour delay on Vincent Livorno-Bastia, about 2 hours delay when coming on Kiss ; stuff not speaking any English or German, or any other language except Italian -> big surprise for somebody active in tourism and on international waters.
