Located on the northern coast of Crete, the Heraklion ferry port is easy to reach by public transport and car. There is a public service that departs every hour from Chania and takes passengers within walking distance of the terminals. The Mykonos ferry port is 2km north of the town centre and can only be accessed by car and public transport, since there are no pavements leading to the passenger terminals. There are several taxi services available from anywhere on the island, but these are known to get very busy when the tourist season is underway. A cheaper option is catching the Seabus from Chora, which costs approximately £5 per passenger. This service can get busy in the high season so please leave yourself plenty of time.
