Grimaldi Lines Florencia ferry carries around 840 passengers and up to 160 cars and offers an array of onboard facilities to keep you entertained during your trip including a self-service restaurant, a choice of bars, a casino, a shop, a children’s play area and a choice of cabin accommodation.

Onboard Cabins / Reserved Seating

There’s a total of 93 air conditioned en-suite cabins with a choice of both inside and sea view (outside). The Florencia also has 2 luxury suites with double beds and 2 cabins designed for disabled passengers. Each cabin contains 2 standard beds, 2 foldaway beds, a writing desk, a 4 door wardrobe, a mirror and a small armchair. In addition, the 2 Luxury suites feature a bedroom with a double bed, a TV set and a living room with a divan with double bedding. For those who prefer not to book a cabin there are 62 reclining seats available.

Onboard Food and Drink

Meals are available in the self-service restaurant with a choice of many different dishes on offer. The Vesuvio Club bar features a cafe room while in the outdoor sun deck bar (open in summer months) you can have a drink and relax on one of the deckchairs in the sunshine.

Onboard Shopping

You’ll find the onboard shop selling numerous products and souvenirs opposite the reception on deck 5.

Additional Onboard Facilities

The Florencia has a video games room and casino with slot machines.

Travelling with Children

Children are well catered for with Grimaldi Lines and the Florencia features a dedicated child’s play area to keep younger passengers occupied during the trip.

Accessibility

Assisted can be provided if required however you will need to inform the staff on arrival at the port. The Florencia ferry contains 2 cabins designed for disabled passengers.

Small ship, but very small, I was expect something bigger. Fortunately the sea was calm and there was a warm sun. Really bad organization during the boarding in Barcellona: they made us go there 1 hour earlier and let embark 3 hours later, this is stupid. Very clean on board, but perhaps it would be better a bigger ship for a 18 hours crossing...

Back from our hoilidays in Spain, we decide to travel with a ferry instead driving home. We took one in Barcellona, it was an excellent idea! In 24 hours we were at home. A relaxing crossing, long 19 hours, in a nice enviroment not too busy. Clean cabin, quiet, helpful staff. Positive experience!

Yesterday i travelled on the 'Florencia' and found it to be a small ferry with tickets costing the same as any other simple ferry (like SNAV Lazio, superba, fantastic, etc.). I’ve asked if I could change my 4 berth inside cabin with a single and, I had to pay €60 difference (I would expect a max of €20/30) and the cabin offered was a 4 berth cabin anyway. On other ships generally you get free toiletries but not on this ferry. They offer less services and they make you pay the same or more as other better ships. Disappointed!

I travelled for the first time on the Grimaldi lines, m/n Florencia, in August 2012, from Brindisi to Igoumenitsa. On the way out I travelled on a day crossing, I booked a deck passage and sat comfortably at a table in the bar located on Deck 6. Despite a ship traveling at full load the embarkation and disembarkation were fast, punctual departure and arrival was even before the scheduled time. The return was at night, we had an inside cabin. In truth the cabin was a little noisy but large enough for two people, the beds were comfortable, the white linen clean and so was the bathroom. Overall, considering the amount paid in the high season with a special offer (€378 for 2 people + car) there is nothing to complain about, in fact it is the first company with which I will check the price for my next trip.

Boarding the ferry from Livorno was a nightmare; the directions to the port took us to the wrong place. It took us an hour to find the right embarkation point, then when we got to the ticket office they had to search for the boarding cards (together we other passengers in the same situation). Fortunately the ferry was 3 hours late. Not the best experience.

We travelled on the Florencia 11th Oct with our children overnight. There was no children's facilities as stated, very little food, the smallest room (4 door wardrobe and writing desk?), nowhere to sit outside, and we were required to vacate our room hours before our arrival. We were also required to be waiting with our car at the terminal to embark hours before the boat left. A most unpleasant 3 hours waiting in my car with thankfully patient children. Luckily we managed to bring some of our own food on board. We have travelled on other Grimaldi boats that were much better. If I had known this boat was like this, I would have driven the journey instead. The staff we fine, however, if you have children maybe go another way. We manage to be self entertaining but we were so disappointed to find this vessel was much different to how it was on the website. It was a very basic boat. If you like gaming machines and food on plastic plates, go for it.
