"Unexpected stop"
Ship felt quite crowded and busy, was glad to have a cabin to escape to. When we booked there was nothing on the information saying that the ferry makes a stop in Fredrichshaven in Denmark on the way to Copenhagen at 1am which was a bit of a surprise and also meant we didnt really have a great sleep as woken by the announcements and noisy manouvering. Probably would have travelled on the route any way but would have been useful to know that we would be woken in middle of night. Experience at both ports really easy
"Loved It!"
Amazing Ferry from Oslo to Copenhagen! Great ship, clean, great music, pool, hot tub, kids area etc! Very happy and satisfied!
"DFDS "
A great way to arrive in Oslo waking up to beautiful scenery as we headed up the Oslo Fjords. WIFI very expensive.
"Excellent experience"
Really enjoyed the journey to oslo from copenhagen and back. My friend and i had the smaller cabins because they were cheaper, but they still were comfy. The staff very helpful and civilised and theres almost nothing you can't get on board. Planning to come back again-thank you dfds
"Great"
Great and easy way to get to Copenhagen. The room was a bit smaller, but we didnt mind. We just needed a bed to sleep. Bathroom was ok, too. The ship has many restaurants, bars,.. also live music! There is a bubble zone with a swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzis. Smoking area outside on the deck with covered seating, so you dont feel cold weather. We enjoyed and definitely recommend!
"more than what expected"
everything good, and excellent service
"Great way to Travel between Oslo and Copenhagen"
Surprisingly fun way to travel between these great cities. Lovely views of Oslo Fjords. Enjoyed the troubadour entertaining in the bar. Met some nice people enjoying the deck. All good.
"Nice trip"
Would have loved to have traveled in warmer weather or have more indoor window seats
"Excellent DinnerExperience but not the same for Breakfast"
This ferry is an effortless way to travel between Oslo & Copenhagen and visa versa. Booking in was simple , no queues and straight to my Cabin. After unpacking what was deemed necessary I made may way to the Espresso Café for Coffee & a Danish and contemplated which restaurant I should take dinner in. Having decided on the SJO Restaurant I promptly made my reservation before returning to my cabin for a Shower & change. The Meal & wines at the restaurant were superb and the attention to detail by the staff second to none; one of the best dining experiences of all time. Having completed my meal with Coffee, Petite Fours and Cognac I retired to my room a very contented passenger. The next morning I wished to continue my experience on board only to find that my choice was restricted to either coffee & a pastry at the Espresso House or fighting it out at the Self Service Buffet. I choice the latter and was most disappointed especially after my previous nights experience. Plates were cold as was the food by time you got to the table, trying to get the staff's attention for Coffee was nigh impossible and if you left your table for a minute to find some for yourself you found that during your absence they had appeared like the Tooth Fairy and cleared your table. So why oh why don't DFD give an alternative; I was taken from a high to rock bottom in 8 hours. I score the SJO Restaurant 5 stars and the breakfast buffet 0 Stars so an average of 2.5 which does not give any credit to the guys in the Restaurant. So wake up DFD and serve breakfast to basic travellers in one of your other Restaurants.
"Ferry"
Very well organised.
"Ferry trip Copenhagen to Oslo "
The ferry was similar to a cruise ship and it was advertising mini cruises with entertainment in the evening. The cabins were small but the bed was much appreciated for the overnight crossing.
"Great Trip"
Had a great trip with Direct Ferries from Oslo to Copenhagen on the overnight ferry. The staff were excellent and very knowledgeable - especially about wine ! We had a smooth crossing and the only criticism was the cabins were warm but maybe we hadn't figured the heating system out. Would definitely travel with them again, highly recommend.
"Super trip"
We recently travelled from Oslo to Copenhagen with DFDS Seaways on the Pearl Seaways. The cabin was comfortable; the crew very helpful; the scenery stunning. Overall a most enjoyable trip.
"Cancellation"
Unfortunately a serious family matter occurred so I had to curtail our trip. When trying to cancel on my bookings all that came up was ‘this booking is non refundable’ which I appreciate. However from your point of view it might have been helpful to no that I was going to be boarding.
"Good experience"
I really appreciate. I was a good experience in my life. Everything is super, I mean cleaning, punctuality, very organised. I highly recommend it to others.
"Fantastic"
So great
"Exceptional"
We had exceptional accomodations, good food, and wonderful service.the staff were all so helpful and friendly. The outdoor bars were so enjoyable. While smoking was generally not allowed, there was enough space for those of us who haven't yet kicked the habit,. We would recommend travelling this way to Norway .
"Efficient"
Left on time, and arrived on time, no problems with entering, or leaving the ship, cabin and bedding clean, and comfortable. Happy to use DFDS again
"Boat from Oslo to Copenhaven"
Boat from Oslo to Copenhaven-Overall good value
"Very bad choice."
This ferry is very expensive for food and beverages. The entertainment was poor. My room was tiny. Will not use this route again. Id rather drive.
"Nice ship tour "
I really enjoyed very nice ship tour
"A memorable return voyage on Pearl Saeways"
I was most impressed by almost every aspect of the voyage. The ship is spacious and my cabin,a single outside with TV could not be faulted. The ships schedule means that travel is leisurely. The food in the 'Seven Seas' Buffet was so good that it was a challenge to do justice to the options provided. The ships staff were all friendly and very helpful and the ship departed and arrived almost eaxctly on time. The approach to Oslo up the fjord is most impressive.Overall an excellent journey which I thoroughly recommend.
"ERVARING"
AS IT WAS OUR FIRST WE ENJOYED THE TRIP.THANK YOU
"Save time and money"
We recently took a trip to Norway and decided to visit Copenhagen since it so close we only had 3 days left of our vacation so it was diffiuclt to find rooms in Copenhagen so we opted to take the over night ferry so we only had to find a room for one night since you sleep on the ferry going and returning . We found a centrally located room a 10 minute taxi ride away from the ferry station . So we had a full day in Olso and took the late afternoon ferry to Denmark and stayed in Commodore class on the ferry ( comes with a bottle of champagne and breakfast the next morning). We arrived in Copenhagen refreshed and ready to tour the city the next morning after checking in our luggage at the hotel we took a hop on hop off bus tour of the city good for 48 hours it took us to all the citys points of interest and the next day we took the late afternoon ferry back to Olso The room on the ferry was quiet and comfortable there are a number of resturants and entertainment help pass the time on board.
"Oslo-Copenhagen Excellent Service / Rough Sea"
We embarked on this 17-hour crossing after 8-days of rent-a-car tour across the Scandinavian peninsula. It saved us 600 km of additional drive down the west coast. Service was excellent, there is much to do, The only complaint would be the weather. The weather in august up north is something quite different from what we are used to in the Mediterannean ... those with bouts of sea-sickness - don't forget the pills ...
"Great trip and way exceeded our expectations after reading reviews"
The room was clean and in good repair, and similar to other ship rooms we have had (ship rooms are just small). There was ample deck space and we spent little time in the room. Italian restaraunt was great and we split a delicious pizza. Wine in 'duty free' was expensive and swill. Ask for room on 5th floor to avoid lavatory with your luggage.
"Enjoyable overnight cruise"
Travelled from Copenhagen to Oslo overnight. This was a lovely and scenic way to travel in comfort. Commodore class included an excellent breakfast and our meal in the steak house restaurant was good. A little slow through customs in Oslo but our hotel was an easy walk from the ferry. I would recommend this alternative to flying between capitals.
"Great way to travel"
Thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Lots to do if you want to or just sit back and relax. Excellent food and very friendly staff. Very comfortable cabin.
"Great trip, relaxing fun"
Our trip from Copenhagen to Oslo (and return) was our first and very enjoyable. Hassle free boarding and disembarking. Found our room easy. Room basic but clean and assisted to top deck and entertainment. Entertainment in lounge was great. Food at 7 Seas restuarant was great. Huge selection. We took the 2 hour coach trip around Oslo which left us plenty of time to find a resturant for late lunch and relax before boarding ferry for return. Will certainly do another ferry trip again.
"Oslo to Copenhagen"
I think that this is a very nice way to travel for those of us who spend too much time on planes. It was cool, comfortable, and nice to be able to freely move about the ship. It took us directly from city center to city center and we quickly got off the ship, grabbed a cab, and were off on our next adventure. You're on holiday. Enjoy the adventure.
"TERRIBLE CABIN"
DURING THE PROCESS OF BOOKING ON LINE, IT WASN'T CLEAR FOR ME THE FEATURES OF THE CABIN AND I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO MAKE A BETTER CHOICE. I TRAVELED WITH MY HUSBAND AND WE GOT A TOO SMALL CABIN WITH TWO BUNK BEDS STACKED ONE OVER THE OTHER. IT WAS TOO UNCOMFORTABLE.
"Best way to travel between oslo and copenhagen"
Excellent experience. Good value for money. Best way to travel between Copenhagen and oslo! Buffet dinner was delicious I'm surprised they call it a ferry as it was so beautiful it was more like a cruise ship.
"Great way to travel"
A great way to travel from Oslo to Copenhagen. Lots of room to move around, comfortable sleeping cabins.
"Copenhagen to Oslo by ferry."
We had bunk beds in a small cabin. We slept well, had a hot shower, with good pressure all in a clean cabin. The staff were excellent and although busy seemed cheerful. All that we wanted aboard the ferry.
"Perfect way to get to Oslo"
Going by overnight ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo was the best way to travel. Staff were great and the commodore class was ideal.
"Very Cozy and Nice Trip"
I love the Pearl. For one thing you would never had such an experience to stand on the rear deck in the deep darkness of a scandinavian snowstorm. It's like a sort of experience in a movie. The harsh and powerful blizard would swallow you and throw you into the waves of abysmal sea behind the ship! But you know it would be impossible when you got back to the warm and quiet cabin.
"Praise and criticism "
"The trip was very good technically and from the ferry price very reasonable. Extent it is fun and it is beneficial for a family to travel to Copenhagen by ferry. CRITICAL remarks: 1 Our family got a cabin in close proximity / on the dance bar. It was possible to sleep because of the noise after two clock at night. I suggest direct ferries and DFDS Seaways still urgently to give when booking the cabins references to "" restless cabins "" or for FAMILIES primarily the cabins in a quieter location (not over night bar or dance halls) offer. The cabin-position over noisy places should be offered rather young or celebrating guests. It would not be bad if the staff from time to time at night makes a control transition to "celebrating", "guest to ask in the cabins" to rest. 2 The buffet restaurant is quite good, but the reduced "" Children's prices "in" restaurant should also look for 16 - or 17-year-olds are. "
"Copenhagen-Oslo"
I used this trip as a quick means to visit Oslo for a day while I was in Denmark. When I booked the trip I assumed that since this is not a typical cruise but rather a ferry that when the announcements were made that everyone had to to leave the boat in the morning and that it would depart for whatever reason that we had to completely vacate our room. The one thing I wish I had known ahead of time is that since we were taking the evening ferry back that night, and were assigned the same cabin that we could have left our luggage in the room which would have allowed us to pack more appropriately rather than planning to depart with everything we took on board. Other than the very expensive but typical Scandinavian prices for food and drink, everything was good. Staff was friendly and courteous. Parking is directly across the street from the terminal in Copenhagen and taxis readily available outside for quick trips into the city.
"Copengagen - Oslo ferry"
The journey went well. The crossing was on time, our cabin met our expectations. Food was expensibe.
"Newcastle /Amsterdam trip"
The ferries are very comfortable and the service aboard is very pleasant. The loading and unloading of cars is appalling. Under crew control my car had paintwork damaged as I was directed to go too close to the wall on the outward trip. On the return voyage we were instructed to stay in the car until finally in position, at which point the only way for myself and one passenger to get out of the car was by climbing over to the other door as we were against the wall on deck 4. No lift was available until we climbed to deck 6 which was not easy for my passengers, all pensioners with ability problems. I spoke with the loading officer who blamed the dock company and said he had this problem regularly, but could not persuade the people concerned to help.
"Everything excellent"
Highly recommended
"Trip"
Everything truly excellent!!
"An endearing journey "
It was one of the best trips in ferry that I have been to thanks to the landscape, quietness, organization and punctuality. Recommendable to all effects. The 17 hours of journey seem shorter in this ship.
"Hassle-free travel"
Oslo to Copenhagen by DFDS ferry definitely beats flying as a way of getting from Norway to Denmark. The journey was smooth, comfortable, hassle-free and thoroughly enjoyable. Time out to appreciate the scenery and take things easy. The ship was spotlessly clean and all the staff we dealt with were courteous, friendly and efficient. Dinner in the Steakhouse and breakfast in the main downstairs cafe were excellent and, after a week in Norway, the prices on this Danish boat were a distinct relief. We would recommend this service to anyone, and are already contemplating repeating the journey in the opposite direction next year.
"Pleasant journey, unpleasant sleep."
The journey from Oslo - Copenhagen is comfortable because it travels at night, offers ample entertainment and the following morning you arrive in Copenhagen without having the feeling of lost time. Check-in (3 people and 1 car) proceeds smoothly and professional and you are handed the cabin's key card there and then. Our joy of having a cabin bordering the rear deck (lovely, easy to romantically draw in some air) turned to irritation in the evening. Our cabin was right over the night club. We didn't have to go to this club because we were dancing in our beds! By midnigh my wife could not take it any longer and she went and complained. She was given a different cabin where she slept by herself since her husband couldn't not move because our child was fast asleep (luckily). In short, a terrible night and a headache in the morning. Piece of advice, make sure you book a cabin far away from the music!
"Efficiency and kindness"
A beautiful sunny day, very quick check-in and boarding, staff very kind and helpful. On the arrival, like on the plane, they were all in line to thank passengers. On time and quick during disembark operations. Except for the sun, nothing like Italy!
"Xtra special"
I highly recommend Commodore class. Our voyage from CPH to Oslo was one of the highlights of our vacation. Comfortable room and "by invitation only" facilities were well worth the few extra euros we spent
"Copenhagen to Oslo"
If you're travelling through Scandinavia, i would highly recommend the journey from Copenhagen to Oslo by boat. Loads to do and staff courteous and polite. Thanks DFDS.
"A beautiful excursion. Highly recommended. "
From booking to the end of the trip everything worked out very well. The staff were very polite and helpful. We enjoyed the voyage very much. The only thing that could be improved would perhaps be information on where the ship is just what the coasts can be seen. Such a thing as there are in the buses " Hop on Hop Off " for sightseeing.
"A very good crossing"
A very good crossing. We couldn't choose our cabin during the booking. I ended up in the lower level and at the front of the boat. It was very agitated and noisy during the night.
"Worth the money!"
We really enjoyed our trip to and from Newcastle. The ships were very nice, comfortable cabins and beds! The restaurant was also very good with friendly staff and nice food. We really can and will recommend this company. I only could not see the exact address where the ship leaves the port. This is for Ijmuiden and for Newcastle, maybe possible to put that on the bookings/confirmation form.
"We loved the journey"
The ship was very nice and comfortable. We had a very quiet and comfy journey. We recommend this experience because for us it was very pleasant and unforgettable. Thank you for your help.
"The only way to travel"
Spend the little extra and go for the Commodore deluxe, it makes the voyage a great experience. The cabins are large with fantastic views from the front of the ship. The bed is comfortable and the little mini bar stocked. The private lounge and outside sitting area are great for watching the scenery go by. The lounge provides hot and cold beverages with snacks. Breakfast in the Explorer Restaurant was very peaceful with a fabulous array of delicious food. The ships shop is well stocked. The boarding and disembarking procedure flows very smoothly.
"Very nice"
Very nice boat, very comfortable cabin and meals offers. Lack good wifi throughout the ship. Punctual and good service.
"Great, lovely steak"
We had beautiful weather and were able to enjoy a great sunset. We had an outside-4-cabin, it was very tight, but was equipped with shower / toilet and the beds were surprisingly good. The Steak House, we enjoyed a very good dinner - great steak, side dishes all fresh and the service was friendly, cheerful and courteous. All in all - an unforgettable experience
"Great onboard lacks information in Oslo"
I had a comfortable journey, with my wife and my daughters, boarding on and off without a problem, no car, decent price, only black spot prices on board at the restaurant and bars are too expensive, but it's like that everywhere in the country. Very nice functional cabin, toilet and shower, comfortable bed. In Oslo there is a lack of information for public transport.
"Perfect crossing"
Very helpful and friendly crew. Unforgettable atmosphere. I recommend it for families, young couples, large everyone.
