"Éen keer maar nooit meer."
Schande dat er na een lange autorit naar Frederikshaven na 12 uur aan boord niets te eten te koop is, belachelijk zo vindt het eigen personeel van DFDS Seaways ook. Op de terugweg een uur vertraging zonder enige melding aan de opvarenden, kortom dit is de eerste en de laatste keer dat we met DFDS Seaways varen.
"A me è piaciuto "
Ho viaggiato tra lunedì e martedì: nave pulita, cibo buono a abbondante, cabina da due usata da sola. Sono stata benissimo.
"Good and efficient way to travel from Denmark to Norway and vice versa. Excellent dinner."
Good and efficient way to travel from Denmark to Norway and vice versa. Excellent dinner.
"Copenhagen to Oslo "
It was good. Quality food, lot of things for entertainment, kids will be very happy for them on cruise play area, games are, bubble baths and evening games in evening or so on.
"FREE WIFI Not Avalible "
When booking there was adverts saying Free WIFI on the website, then I found I had to pay to use it on board. Other than that the trip was brilliant.
"Cruise or lose."
We have used the ferry and driven the roads. Ferry every time for us, with a nights bed for free. Nothing to complain about at all.
"Good ferry trip Oslo to Copenhagen "
Hi we used the DFDS ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo and returned four days later, found the ferries very clean with help staff, only a couple of comments to improve things which I found slightly disappointing, the on place to get a decent cup of tea was in the Seven seas buffet lounge which you can only access by either paying for the evening buffet or breakfast buffet, all other bars/restaurants have a good selection of fruit teas or earl gray but no normal type tea. None of the staff thought to access the Seven seas lounge and grab some normal tea bags. The other item was the limited menu in the little Italy restaurant both the steak restaurant and the Italian restaurant share the same kitchen area and when asked if they could do a side order of chips the said they were not available in the Italian restaurant even though several orders for chips passed our table into the stake restaurant. These are just small things but would have finished a great trip on the ferries.
"Nice ferry trip "
No waiting at port - straight on. Lovely cruise with plenty of bars live music and restaurants. Like a mini cruise.
"Superb!"
Great way to travel from Norway to Denmark. Couldn’t fault Direct Ferries in any way. Great value for money. Lovely cabin (loved having a window) super food, friendly staff and great shop on board. Would definitely recommend this over a flight if you can make time.
"Fantastic crossing but dangerous disembarkation."
We loved this overnight rip to Oslo. We were able to board just after lunch and so we walked straight through no hassle . Our cabin was the basic but had everything we needed for the one night. The ferry was full to the brim of Japanese travellers and a lot was catered towards them to suggest that this was a regular occurrence. The only two down falls were that we had to wait around for a table in the morning for breakfast despite getting there for 7am as it was heaving and the exiting of the ferry was horrendous as we came down the lift with our cases and it opened up into a huge crush foyer on the 5th deck where we couldn't turn back or forward and were trapped in a huge crush where myself and husband tried our best to protect out children from the crushing pressure if stupid tourists trying to push towards an exit that wasn't open saying 'in group, in group's as an excuse to crush you further. We live in Merseyside and this experience was harrowing. We have travelled on DFDS many times before from Britain and the exit has always there been a very orderly queue.
"Rubbish customer service "
We were downgraded when we arrived to check in. They didn’t offer us any compensation. The customer service was dreadful - our two young boys were really excited about the cabin we had booked with a window but we ended up with no view. I think if there is a need to downgrade then at the least there should be a offer of voucher to be used on board.
"Excellent Trip with DFDS"
It was my first travel with DFDS.I cant explain in words how much I enjoyed. The whole team remained very friendly throughout the journey... I do admire the behaviour of the crew... In short it was an excellent experience...
"Poor customer relations"
Poor connections for foot passengers in Copenhagen. Unhelpful bus driver and totally useless website meant we had to find our own way by public transport.
"DFDS Seaways"
Cabin was too small. Lighting was not sufficient in the cabin. There was no kettle in the cabin. There was no free wifi on the whole ship.
"Oslo to Copenhagen"
We had an inside cabin on deck 2 which is below the car decks at the bottom of the ship and we could hear noise, presumably from the ship's engines. When we used the shower the filter over the drain lifted due to the water pooling in the bottom and pieces of black gunk came up from the drain which was quite disgusting. I would not book the same cabin again. The ship has hardly any inside seating in public areas which is not part of a bar or restaurant so if you bring your own food like we did you will struggle to find somewhere to sit and eat other than your cabin. You are not allowed to eat your own food in public area. For us it was the worst overnight ferry trip we have taken.
"Exceptional"
We had exceptional accomodations, good food, and wonderful service.the staff were all so helpful and friendly. The outdoor bars were so enjoyable. While smoking was generally not allowed, there was enough space for those of us who haven't yet kicked the habit,. We would recommend travelling this way to Norway .
"Terrible beds and bedlinen"
Bedmatress was too big for the underlying bed by twenty cms on either side. It was an awfully deceiving way to make the bed appear bigger than it was. The duvets were so thick they would've been OK for arctic conditions. One had too pull them out on the return trip so as not too seat all night. For the price we paid, the cabin and bed were absolutely dreadful. Will think twice before travelling with DFDS again, anyway paying for a cabin.
"A wonderfull experience"
it was a wonderful experience for all my family
"Perfect trip"
Very organized trip Crew are so helpful .. All services were great .. I love it and will repeat it. P.s. 7seas restaurant please consider putting ice cream for adults they were all sneaking to kids buffet to GRT some !including me
"oslo to copenhagen"
no problem throuhout or journey
"Excellent"
A very pleasant experience. Easy to book, easy to board and disembark and the room was very clean and comfortable. Restaurants were good and the ship was very clean. Overall a great way to travel.
"Wonderful trip!"
I had a lovely time on my first cruise with you and would do it again for sure. The cabin I was assigned could have used a bit of freshening (stains on sofa). And free wifi should be expanded beyond the customer service desk--but all in all it was a great way to travel & would highly recommend..
""It's only happen with DFDS Seaways!!!"
It was a fascinating experience.!!, we will do it again. No doubt!!
"Save time and money"
We recently took a trip to Norway and decided to visit Copenhagen since it so close we only had 3 days left of our vacation so it was diffiuclt to find rooms in Copenhagen so we opted to take the over night ferry so we only had to find a room for one night since you sleep on the ferry going and returning . We found a centrally located room a 10 minute taxi ride away from the ferry station . So we had a full day in Olso and took the late afternoon ferry to Denmark and stayed in Commodore class on the ferry ( comes with a bottle of champagne and breakfast the next morning). We arrived in Copenhagen refreshed and ready to tour the city the next morning after checking in our luggage at the hotel we took a hop on hop off bus tour of the city good for 48 hours it took us to all the citys points of interest and the next day we took the late afternoon ferry back to Olso The room on the ferry was quiet and comfortable there are a number of resturants and entertainment help pass the time on board.
"Fair "
It was a good ship overall . It had children facilities but unfortunately all kids activities were in their language and not in English for the 2 days !! Vegetarian food options were extremely limited.
"Fantastic Voyage"
This overnight trip is the best way to travel from Copenhagen to Oslo (or visa versa). The ship was pristine, the staff wonderful and the food excellent. We upgraded to a Commodore class cabin which was well worth the extra cost, double bed, hot shower, TV, fridge with complimentary water, chocolates and sparkling wine also a large window for viewing that fantastic scenery. Commodore class also has separate breakfast dining (the breakfasts were amazing). If you opt for the all you can eat evening buffet dining you will not be disappointed although you will queue at peak times, the food is plentiful however and will not run out. Views of the Fjords are amazing and I would recommend taking an early breakfast so you can get up on deck to take full advantage of the views. A fantastic voyage, I am now a cruise convert!
"Trip to Oslo from Copenhagen"
Very good and save trip.
"good trip"
Check-in was straightforward. It would be helpful if directions for using the nearby S station were given. Boat was modern and spacious, on board night life was interesting.
"Denmark to Norway"
I found that the booking was easy and convenient. Had no trouble with the bookings all was easy, and I could just enjoy my trip. Great value for money I spent booking with Direct Ferries. Thank you :)
"Okay, I guess"
Ship's facilities include several restaurants, a not-so-cheap arcade room, some stores, a pool area that may suit families but not attractive for couples, and an extremely overpriced massage. The main issue I had is the fact the room description was in Norwegian, and I could not find an English one. I've ordered a 'suite' with explanation that I understood as double bed, but it came with bunks so me and my wife shared a single-person bed... :| The room had a single power outlet, so bare in mind for those who'd like to utilize several electric components (laptop/tablet/phones etc).
"Pleasant voyage"
Cruise from Copenhagen to Oslo with DFDS Seaways. It's the only way to travel.
"Copenhagen to Oslo by Direct Ferries"
Check-in process was quick and easy. Our room was clean, and comfortable with a nice view of the ocean. We were on Commodore level 7, and assumed we would be able to use the lounge on the same level (assuming it was included as we paid extra for that level). When we tried our key, it didn't work, so a member of the staff let us in. After a few minutes, another member of the staff came in and questioned why we were in there - apparently the 7th floor lounge was only for tour guides. He was quite rude and told us to pretty much 'get out'. Not very nice to assume we were doing something wrong, even after we explained that we genuinely thought we were allowed to be in there. Breakfast was to be included in our Commodore level ticket, however, the tickets were not in our room (as they should have been and were for other guests on the same level). We ended up spending close to 20Euros (muffin, croissant + 2 coffees) buying breakfast from the coffee shop and later realized (from reading a small sign in the hallway) that we should have had prepaid breakfast tickets. When we went to ask for them, the woman was also rude about it and said we should check our room (which we did). We also explained that we ended up spending unnecessarily on breakfast - she didn't have an ounce of empathy about it and very gruffly said that we should have asked her first. The ferry journey was nice, but service was disappointing. I've been on many other ferries around the world and this wasn't the most positive customer service experience we have had.
"Excellent "
The best trip and excellent service.
"Great experience!"
I loved this way to travel from Oslo to Copenhaguen!
"What a way to go"
Why fly and sit it a hotel room at the other end when you can have it all at leisure with views!
"Beautiful views"
I can not comment in the catering as we didn't eat in the boat. The views are amazing and well worth the trip. Excellent service.
"Very good ship"
Very nice and very good ship
"Scandinavian Summer Sail"
Enjoyable experience.
"Copenhagen - Oslo Trip"
Pleasant experience - would definitely recommend as a perfect way to travel between the two countries.
"Excellent Service"
Our experience on DFDS from Oslo to Copenhagen was wonderful! The crew in the duty free (Jasper and Michael) and info desk were extremely helpful and fun to talk to! My wife and I were on our honeymoon and we're glad the crew of DFDS were part of it and helped us out so much. Thank you for the friendly service and authentic desire to chat and help us out.
"Very nice except for one problem."
We had a very nice trip on Direct Ferries. It was a great way to get from Copenhagen to Oslo ! Our only problem is that I lost my pocket calendar. Was a small blue pocket calendar found by any chance? We were on board the night of 14 May in an outside room on the 6th deck. Thank you; we will recommend the DFDS to others. G . Dale Birdsall
"Fantabulous"
What a lovely way to travel and leave all your cares to the crew and staff. Plenty of places to relax and many activities to while away the time.
"Copenhaven - Oslo"
It was great spending time than fly by plane beetwen Copenhaven - Oslo.
"Good trip"
We are glad to have taken the DFDS ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo with family. The cabin, though a little small, was all right. The buffet from 7 Seas Restaurant was great! All three of us enjoyed the food, particularly when the chefs took time to explain the dishes to us (we took a late seating, 8pm). The cold cuts were really good. Our son liked the rice pudding very much. The caramel pudding was also very good. Great to have wifi on Deck 7 as it helps us connect with the hotel we will be staying in and others. Thank you. On hindsight, we should have got a DFDS stamp on our passport, as our friends told us but it was too late then. We did not get to see the fjord as we sailed in as it was very foggy.
"scandinavia"
It was a bautiful experience since i was travelling in the cruise for the first time. Jouney was beautiful and the Deck cabins were equipped with basic stuffs. On deck entertainment facilities were very good. We enjoyed a lot.
"Great Way to Travel"
We enjoyed our trip aboard the direct ferry from Oslo to Copenhagen. It was a comfortable and safe way to travel which we would recommend. We were able to sit comfortably on the top deck as we travelled south down the fjord. Drinks were readily available. We were amazed at the facilities available on board, from duty free shopping to nightclubs, a pool area, a games area and plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the trip. Our cabin was quiet and comfortable. However, we did not book for the restaurant area and only later discovered the lack of food choice available to us. There was no gluten free food available for meals at either the coffee shop or pizza bar.
"Overnight from Oslo to Copenhagen"
I enjoyed this trip. The afternoon departure time allowed me plenty of time to view the fjord as we sailed south and I was able to watch as we sailed past Kronborg and down to Copenhagen the next morning. The facilities were good. I was able to watch the US Open on television in my cabin but could not get easy wifi access unfortunately. Great choice of restaurants on board. However, my wife requires gluten free food and this was not available at the coffee shop where we opted to eat.
"Satisfied customer"
This was my first time on an overnight ferry and I am happy to recommend this route as a comfortable option for travelling between Copenhagen and Oslo. As a single traveller I found the cabin price was still reasonably good value. I would like to have seen more options for purchasing snacks or small meals as the only options on board were one small coffee kiosk or a full sit-down meal at one of the rather pricey restaurants.
"Sailing to Copenhagen"
It was a nice trip. A family cabin was too small for 4 adults. I wish they would not recommend it for that many people. The buffet was not good and was not worth the money they charge. Cabins are clean and comfy.
"Very pleasant"
Our crossing from Oslo to,Copenhagen was top class. We had a cabin on level 11 with a balcony and this was certainly worth the extra cost and highly recommended. Our cabin was large and we had complimentary sparkling wine and beer. The restaurants and entertainment were very enjoyable and we can recommend DFDS to anyone.
"Great trip, highly recommend"
This was a great trip. Nice memories for the whole life.
"Vacation in Europe."
Our family really loved this ferry experience from Copenhagen to Oslo. It sure exceeded our expectations. We loved our ocain view cabin and the trip was on time.
"Best way to go to Copenhagen"
The return Trip Oslo-Copenhagen was my first time on a ferry boat over night. It was the best ferry experience I had so far. Great rooms, great staff, great entertainment program. The ship was very punctual as well.
"Great way to get around in Scandinavia"
Our family took the DFDS ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo. The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom ensuite. There were restaurants, a buffet, and a coffee shop, but no cafeteria where a family could pick and choose items for supper and/or breakfast.
"Great overnight trip"
The ferry was way above our expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. The beds were very comfortable and although the room was compact it had everything we needed. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Good choice of restaurants or snack bar. The ferry was modern and furnished very nicely. Thank you for a good trip and a new experience. An Australian Traveller.
"Thank you"
Good trip and excellent team on board.
"An excellent experience"
Travelling from Copenhagen to Oslo by DFDS was a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. Definitely recommended.
"Hello"
We very much enjoyed our cruise, everything was excellent, all employees thank you for everything.
"Hello"
We are very enjoyed our cruise, everything was excellent, all employees thank you for everything.
"Copenhagen to Oslo via DFDS Seaways"
We enjoyed the trip. We had comfortable bunk beds, our own shower, which had great pressure and was hot, and toilet. Food was adequate and we enjoyed seeing sunset and sunrise from the deck and the great view of Oslo as we sailed into the fjord. A fantastic way to travel between two cities. We enjoyed it.
"A minicruise "
Great experience having the possibility of enjoying spectacular views while having a drink, breakfast or a meal. To be able to arrive to your destiny fresh and ready to enjoy the day.
"Copenhagen to Oslo"
Enjoyed our overnight trip to Oslo. Nice to have accommodations with a shower and the room was very comfortable. Enjoyed our meals and overall a lovely trip.
"Ferry Khamn-Oslo as an alternativ instead of flying"
Everything worked well but the dinner buffet was just a big dissapointment. The choices you got was very limited, the quality poorly. The meat was ok, but the sauces..? I really regret that I didn't book the á la carte buffet instead of this one...
"Beats air travel any day"
We took the ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo as part of a "grand tour" of Scandinavia. It was a wonderful experience, and a pleasurable way to travel. Our cabin was very comfortable, much more so than expected for being the cheapest. We chose to buy our meals on the ship as we had no experience with these overnight ferries. We felt the value for the buffet was worthwhile for both dinner and breakfast the next morning. The only down sides were a very squeaky cabin due to the motion of the sea (bring some ear plugs) and the internet access never really worked. The wireless issues were not a big deal to us, but passengers should be prepared to not require internet access during the voyage.
"Magic minicruise"
Magic minicruise, especially if you are lucky enough to travel with a nice weather: from the top deck you can enjoy the amazing landscape, the Oslo's fjords, just seating on a comfortable sofa, having a drink and listening to live music. Fantastic! Excellent restaurant choice, the cleanness on board, the punctuality and the organisation in general. The only flaw is that there are not entertainment during evening/night, what a pity!
"An interesting cruise"
The ferry terminal in Copenhagen was well situated and boarding was easy. The cabin was very good and the balcony was great. Disappointed with the restaurant choice for the evening meal although the restaurant for breakfast was good. Really enjoyed the trip as the long days allowed extended scenic views. The terminal in Oslo is well situated in respect of the central city.
"pleasant crossing "
We have used the first time a ferry at night and were pleasantly pleased with the comfort and all.
"copenhagen by oslo "
Good to very good!!
"An unforgettable experience"
It was full moon and the time was extraordinary, The seagulls were flying at our side in the 11th floor cabin. The balcony allowed us to breath the salty air and filled us with joy.
"To Oslo, overnight"
Terminals and ferry were fine, shuttle bus was as scheduled. We were amused to find the boat almost like a floating shopping mall, but that seems to mesh with the time people have to fill in on the trip. Our one criticism is not of Direct Ferries but of the municipal bus system in Copenhagen, that does not have stops right outside the terminal. All in all we thought the overnight ferry was a good alternative to hotel/air flight and we enjoyed the introduction to Norway in the journey up the fiord to Oslo. Thanks
"Recent trip on July 8,2013"
Everything went very well. Had a cabin for two adults and two children. While understandably small, it was functional. Four pull down beds worked very well. I was expecting a a more industrial ship, but it was very close to a cruise ship in quality. The only difference was the ferry had only a small pool for little kids. The ride was smooth and on time. Very satisfied overall.
"Fantastic experience"
I travelled solo via ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo as part of a trip throughout Scandinavia. The experience was fantastic, from the departure port to the cabin, the on board facilities and staffing. I had an exceptional meal in the Marco Polo restaurant and a great nights sleep on a very smooth journey in a spacious and well appointed Commodore cabin. I had some issues with the initial booking via the website and they were resolved promptly, and the office staff were extremely responsive and helpful to my many enquiries. My only regret is that I didn't travel by ferry on some of the other legs of my journey that I travelled by plane/train. I would definitely recommend, and would definitely travel in this manner again.
"Everything it promised"
A great way to leave Copenhagen, free of airport hassles, and arrive fresh the next morning with a wonderful journey up the Oslo Fjord.
"Great way to get to Oslo"
On a short trip to Scandinavia, and looking to maximize our time, we opted to travel to Oslo via DFDS Seaways on the Crown Seaways. As semi-experienced cruisers (Caribbean, Tahiti, twice on the Nile, and 18 months on a Navy ship), it was an interesting experience. The ship was clean, and well maintained. While not as opulent as a typical cruise ship, it was still nicely appointed. We appreciated the "pay as you go" style of purchases, and no big bill to clean up upon departure. We had an outside room on the 5th deck. For a family of 3 it was cramped, but livable. I am not sure I'd want to do a 10 day or transatlantic in a room like that though. The teens congregating While it advertised a "kids club" with a program of activities, it was in actuality less structured than we expected, consisting of a couple of staff dressed in pirate garb making balloon animals and doing face-painting. Our little girl enjoyed the play area, and the plethora of Legos around the ship. The food was excellent, though a bit expensive. We ate in the Buffet both meals; excellent variety, though if you get there 30 minutes before arrival, it is pretty picked over. Overall, it was a great way to travel. We enjoyed the feeling of a mini-cruise, and have already recommended it to friends thinking of traveling Scandinavia.
"PLEASANT SAILING TO OSLO"
A very comfortable cruise to Oslo - good facilities and everything running to schedule Foolishly chose bunk beds - not good for older folk - just a little too high Wouldn't recommend it for over 60's No issues otherwise
"Great trip"
We travelled with DFDS Seaways in May from Copenhagen to Oslo and really enjoyed this overnight trip. We had a two berth outside Commodore deluxe cabin which was so comfortable with wonderful views. The bathroom had a heated floor and excellent shower. Really great experience, thank you.
"I'm glad I took the ferry!"
Everything was clean, the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about everything (food, accommodations, where to go, what to do, etc...), and I was able to relax peacefully without worrying about much of anything. I also arrived in Oslo on time, and it wasn't a bumpy ride! This was the first time that I took the ferry and certainly won't be my last.
"Trip from Copenhagen to Oslo"
The ship is nice and the facilities are great, will look forward to returning to this ship.
"Superb"
Travelled Copenhagen to Oslo, and return few days later. The Commodore Deluxe cabin was as good as many top hotels I've stayed in, and upgrading to the balcony room on the return made the ferry crossing more like a mini cruise. The arrival time of 9.45 left time for proper breakfast without a very early rise too. Just looking forward to a reason to use the service again!
"Comfort, Service & Attentions."
We had some problems with the seasickness, but it’s something subjective. We remained satisfied with the comfort, service and attention received during the journey with your ship. We will recommend it.
"Great journey"
It was an awesome experience, very good to travel with DFDS. Very helpful staff.
