  The boat was fast and perfectly adequate and comfortable and it was on time in both directions. My reason for travel was as a tourist doing a day trip to Colonia from Buenos Aires. I got the 8.15am boat and returned at 8.30 in the evening (arriving at 9.45pm or so). I realise that the ferries serve locals as well as day trippers but this did make for a very long day, and for anyone looking to do the same, the sights of Colonia could probably be squeezed into 4-5 hours and you could get the earlier boat back. ANother point to note is that the Colonia Ferry Terminal is based a little way out of the centre of town - allow 15-20 minutes in a taxi from San Martin Square where I was staying. I was wondering how I would get back into town but there is a taxi queue outside the Colonia Express ferry terminal with taxis meeting the later boat. The rival Buquebus service goes from a ferry terminal which is Much closer to the centre of town which one could potentially walk to, although the ferry times are similar.

• "Good Journey"

  The journey was very good with good organisation on both boat and bus and helpful staff. Only problem was on original details I received which did not state where the boat sailed from in Buenos Aires or where the coach arrived in Montevideo. Good value for money though, especially when considering all the other options.

• "Quick transfer from Argentina to Uruguay"

  We were very pleased to have an option of a quick transfer ftom Buenos Aires to Uruguay. Smooth and uneventful trip out ( plenty of space, plenty of seats to chose from) - a bit if a hiccup on the way back - had to disembark through the car deck after the cars left which in the January heat was a bit tricky but the passengers ( mostly Argentinian and Uruguaian ) exceptionally patient and good humoured ! If time was limited would definitely chose this way of crossing the border between Argentina and Uruguay.
