"Money grabbing"
Absolutely ridiculous that you need to get to ship 2 hours before. Can only assume it is so you spend money at the bars and restaurants. Staff incredibly rude in trying to maximise space for people to squeeze into seats. We were repositioned 3 times! The ship arrived 15 mins late. So from leaving Athens by taxi to Piraeus and then to Milos took almost 7 hours! This could have been 4 hours.
"Voyage Athènes Milos "
Très bon service
"Excellent ferry "
We rented a cabin, everything was clean and worth every cent. There is plenty of restaurants and areas to keep kids occupied. I would definitely come with Minoan in the future.
"Heraklion to Athens"
Excellent ship, vg facilities, comfy cabin - good night's sleep. Ship (Mykonos Palace) ran to revised schedule - Minoan made minor schedule change after booking and notified this 36 hours before sailing. This was not a problem, but their request to reconfirm was not easily met from remote part of Crete. What was also not explained was that Minoan expected the booking confirmation from Direct Ferries to be converted into a paper ticket to effect this 're-confirmation'. We did this in their port office at the last minute, but it would have been helpful to know this was expected. The ship berths in Piraeus approx 1500m walk from that port's bus stops, arrival was 0645 and you are expected to be off-ship by 0800. There is (apparently) a free bus to the exit but we gave up waiting and walked. From the port-exit bus stops, getting into city is not a problem. Bus X96 goes to airport (approx 60 mins) and was only €6, ticket from driver.
"Sea crossing Heraklion to Piraeus "
A smooth, overnight journey in what was a nice cabin. The toilet however did not flush. The ferry was up to time which was excellent.
"Lovely cabins, friendly staff"
The staff were excellent in responding to my needs as i have a severe mobility problem and they made sure i have access to a lift and had a great disability friendly cabin- very modern and clean. Its a huge ship so crossing was smooth and punctuality was perfect.
"Overnight ferry to Heraklion"
A very pleasant way to get to Crete. Big, clean ferry, a comfy cabin and friendly staff. A couple of things that could be improved - Don't let kids play in the cabin corridors - Direct Ferries, please put clearer information on your website/ booking confirmation regarding the fact that there are shuttle busses that take you to the relevant departure quay, and where they go from
"Fantastic way to get to Crete"
We decided to book a luxury cabin as it wasn't any more expensive than flying from Athens in economy. What a treat. It was large and luxurious. Very comfortable bed, seating area and an ensuite bathroom. We ate in the restaurant, had a very good meal, which was well priced. A nightcap to round it off and we retired to our cabin. We slept right through the journey to Crete. Woke just as we were arriving. Had a shower and some breakfast and disembarked clean and well rested for a busy day of travelling.
"Very Enjoyable Crossing"
The ferry was very big, plush and looked more like a cruise ship than ferry crossing. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a meal in the self service buffet as we set sail. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable. I would recommend the Knossos Palace to fellow travellers and would use it myself again.
"Perfect boat trip during you holiday"
We, me and my boyfriend, have traveled around whole Greece. We have started in Crete. We have not felt like flying all the time, and as a result, we have decided to travel to Athens by this ferry. It took nearly whole day, however, we are from inland, so it was very nice trip. I can only recommend this ferry, nothing have gone wrong and ferry has been really beautiful.
"A very fine experience."
I'm glad to have chosen Minoan Shipping Lines.
"Reasonable vessel, noisy cabin"
We went from Heraklion to Athens, this time on the Knossos Palace. The cabin was reasonable but had a faint odour of diesel and was much noisier than the one we had on her sister-ship Festos Palace.
"Minoan Lines, Ship Knossos Palace"
I had a pleasant trip on the Pireaus-Crete crossing and return. The only flaw is that there was no doctor on board. I've asked because my son injured his foot in the sea and i was looking for assistant.
