The name may sound like a metaphor for the quintessential beach break, but the title of White Sandy Beach is as literal as it gets; not only is the beach adorned in gorgeous white sand, so is much of the resort, including the welcoming restaurant, lively bar and relaxed common rooms. Some resorts in Fiji marry the simplistic lifestyle with the demands of the modern world, however, this family run resort strips back the layers of consumerism and encourages guests to rejoice in the peace and freedom afforded in the oasis of tranquillity. The high tide makes for a tough time when trying to tackle the waves, however, just a short stroll across to Honeymoon Beach, available at a small two dollar donation, offers wonderful snorkelling options that displays the mesmerising plethora of flora and fauna. After a tiring day exploring the ocean or getting sun kissed skin from the scorching heat, many guests choose to sleep under the stars in the outdoor dorms to feel truly at one with the imperious vastness of the great outdoors.
Port Denarua is on a small private island in the northwest corner of Fiji’s mainland, Viti Levu. It is the main gateway to some of the beautiful islets along the northwest coast and is just twenty minutes from Nadi International Airport by car. It is considered the island’s finest marina facility, offering restaurants, a spa, a large supermarket and a wide selection of shops. You can also book tours and activities inside the terminal. There are a number of luxurious hotels on Denarau Island where you can relax overnight before your journey as well.
