The trip Helsinki - Stockholm was very pleasant & staff on the boat were very helpful. Almost the same for the return journey. However my room on deck 2 had a shower that was very dirty & flooding. The plumbing needs to be attended to. Otherwise all went well. Thank you.

It was very noisy ferry ⛴ to Stockholm. During the night I could hear car sounds, engine working, the ship was going quit a lot from side to side. Also, most of entertainments is in Finnish so nothing to do for others.

We stayed in a 4 berth cabin on the 2nd deck because it was cheap. Room absolutely fine and beds very comfy. There was no mobile signal in the room and the wifi generally didn’t work on the boat until just before we docked. Very pleasant crossing.

Very busy getting onboard and it was difficult finding somewhere to sit for the duration of the crossing. Otherwise happy with the journey. The alcohol duty free shopping was amazing for choice.

The ferry was very large and had a lot of great amenities. The shop was especially nice. I did not think our room was very clean and I felt a little bit claustrophobic as our room was windowless. I would stay in a bigger room in the future. Overall, the ferry was very punctual and convenient.

We recently move to Stockholm and our son is super interested in cruise liners. As a treat we booked the Viking line to Helsinki. What a lovely family experience. Such a bargain - £200 for two nights in a four berth cabin. Clean and cosy, great facilities and good food. What’s not to like? Helsinki was wonderful too btw! We are already planning our next trip.

We elected to take the tasting menu and accompanying wines during our trip from Stockholm to the Åland Islands. We had fabulous food and wines worthy of the best restaurants. Otto was well-informed and provided excellent service. It was a great way to spend a few hours.

Cabin space was too small. No space to move around at all. Lights in the cabin were not sufficient at all. There was no kettle in the cabin. Bunker bad did not open easily. The staff at the Reception and the Photo Desk were very rude. Not welcoming at all. Not even Hi or Hello. Not cooperative at all. Did not have or give proper information. At the Cafe they refused to provide a glass of hot water to take medicines. Please teach them courtesy and politeness and how to smile.

It was ok, but the ferry is really old. It was kind of travel in time to 80's :) Cabin was nice, the crew as well, just on the boat there is limited number of activities. Two quite old fashioned bars, small restaurants, one duty free shop - after two-three hours you generally run out of options and simply get bored. Since the journey last ar. 17h would be great to have more shops, bigger sauna.jacuzzi section etc.. But generally really convenient option and nice adventure.

The service provided by Viking Line was good from start to finish. Highlights were : the lounge bar on Gabriella, quiet and relaxing with waitress service selling a range of lovely cocktails with great views from the side window; the buffets, both evening meal and breakfast served good quality food, the environment was clean, use of serving equipment hygienic with clear labels so we knew what we were eating and there was a huge selection, speedy table service for clearing away dishes and attentive staff who rapidly cleared broken crockery from the floor. (One disappointment might be to flag up that despite sensible advice from Viking some people piled their plates and were thus overfaced and unable to eat it all, leaving waste...just not necessary); the ship left and arrived to time, Would go again.

Both boat rides were pleasant, with a good timely service. the cafeteria is pretty good for those that want to eat on board. the shopping possibilities are extensive, including a good range of wine that cannot easily be found in either finland, sweden or estonia.

We really enjoyed our journey from Helsinki to Stockholm. The ferry ran perfectly to schedule and was professionally-staffed. The inside bunk cabin we'd booked was fine, although very small - anyone with sea sickness or claustrophobia should splash out on one of the cabins with a window. Great to have our own bathroom and shower in the cabin though. We went for a tasting menu dinner on board and buffet breakfast - I cannot speak highly enough of either, all the food and service was superb. The dinner in particular was a highlight of the whole holiday. I'd definitely travel this route again - great views, comfortable and lots of choice on board.

The buffet was delicious with many options. It came with unlimited beer and wine which did make it more expensive. The room was clean and not too noisy overnight. The bottom bunk was also a couch which was a very nice feature.

Stayed in Helsinki for a few days on our honeymoon so decided to to to Tallinn for the day. Chose Viking Line a) good value and b) the Viking bit! Plenty of places to eat on board, huge well stocked shop, stuff for kids if you have them with you and a nice clean ship. Lacked indoor lounge seating if you didn't want to buy food and drink, we sat outside and being July it was windy but dry, would have been forced to buy something I didn't want to eat if I'd been desperate to sit inside.

Was a very nice experience riding with Viking Line. On F&B, when booking there wasn't an option for full board so we had to pay for food at the buffet restaurant - would have definitely booked full board. The buffet restaurant had too many customers during breakfast time, not too pleasant at the buffet line. Staff looked grumpy when attending to customers... Some training required perhaps? But overall, will still consider travelling with Viking Line again.

The ferry between Stockholm and Helsinki is a treat. Sailing through the archipelago is delightful. Once open sea is reached the ambience of the various restaurants and cafes on board complete the evening with delicious food served by helpful, friendly and smiling staff.

I took the over night ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki in May. It was a very scenic trip going through the islands of the archipelago. For dinner, I opted for the buffet and they had a great selection of food. For entertainment, I stopped in one bar where they had karaoke singing and later went to the main club where they had a good band playing and the ship was hopping. There were other places like a quieter lounge and a casino, but I was happy listening to the band. I had a room on the lower level that was adequate in size and very clean. It was a very good trip!

This route offers fantastic views of the Stockholm Archipelago, particularly at sunset. I had a comfortable stay and would definitely consider having a longer stay in the future.

Easy check in. Great price. Departed on time and enjoyed scenic views from the outside sun decks. Enjoyed the Viking Buffet. Good selection although price is on the steep side (€36 per adult). Had the cheapest inside piccolo cabin with bunk beds. It was comfortable enough for two adults for one night, however I wouldn't recommend bunk beds for kids or elderly travellers. Getting out of the top bunk isn't very fun! Watched a good live band and magician in the cafe del mar area. Good entertainment to pass some time. Got up early the next morning and enjoyed great views coming into Helsinki. Would travel again if I was in the area. Definitely more of an experience than flying.

We were not sure what the Ferry would be like but it seemed like a good idea to be able to have lodging and get from Stockholm to Helsinki at the same time. We were so right! The ship was not a luxury ocean liner but it was comfortable enough and clean enough. We had 2 great meals in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast the next morning. This was a great idea!

We had an amazing crossing from Stockholm, calm waters, beautiful sunset and great food at the a la carte restaurant. En nice and quiet night resulted in a good nights sleep and the breakfast in the big dining room was plentiful, but a bit busy. On the return journey it was hard to get something to eat, you couldn't reserve tables anywhere and the queues were long and slow for the other food places, it disappointed us. The ferry seemed overcrowded and the staff were indifferent and seemingly annoyed with the customers, it was messy in the corridors before people had found their cabins. Despite this we were happy with the trip and we got good value for the money.

We travelled with an almost 4 year old. In the waiting area before boarding there was a children's entertainer which was great! When we got on the ship though it was very chaotic. No directions as to where to go and just very very busy! We found our way up to deck 10 where there is a huge children's play area with several rooms. Very impressed with this! Lockers are on deck 7. Buffet restaurant was very good as were all other facilities.

We enjoy the 2 hours - from the moment we board to the arrival to Tallin However - It was not possible to escape from the smokers - It was impossible to have fresh, cool air on the dock without the need to escape from one smoker to another. Of course inside it was good - but part of the beauty is to look at the view outside - without cigarettes all over

It was a nice experience, crossing the baltic sea from Helsinki to Tallinn. The ship Gabriella is great an beautiful inside. My only caveat is about the places to seat. I couldnt find an area specially to seat. I had to seat at the areas of the bars and restaurants and it's not much confortable for a trip.

Comfortable ferry with correct facilities and cabins just right. The lunch and dinner buffet are excellent. Unfortunately on Fridays the Ferry is taken by young people with possibilities of partying and too much alcohol, that causes some inconveniences to the rest of the passengers, that usually are not very serious.

No problems with the sailing itself. The problem was finding out how to get to the terminal in Helsinki and get the car on the boat. All other ports I have been to you can come anytime during your day of travel and queue up and leave the car there before coming back to check in. I did the same here, but they threatened me with a big fine if I left the car there. At the entrance I could not ask anyone for help. After this, on board the ship I had a lovely time

A wonderful trip, it was a good experience on board and the food was superb. Good service, very friendly staff. Lively entertainment on board. One thing I can say from the bottom of my heart is that; we booked a 2 berth inside cabin but for people with mild disabilities, it’s not easy sleeping in a bunk bed. Maybe it would be a good idea to have two beds next to each other. The beds were nice and we slept comfortably.

This summer, we booked our crossing through Direct Ferries and as usual, it was a great experience. Book the buffet dinner if possible, it’s a real treat. For about thirty euros you can enjoy your dinner and as many courses as you like. Moreover, the beverage, wine and fresh drinks are all included in the price. This time we had to rebook our return trip due to unforeseen family circumstances, and the Direct Ferries team did everything in their power to transfer our booking to another date, excellent! The only little disappointment was the waiting time before we were able to speak to someone, we waited 25 minutes, and that can be expensive if you are calling from abroad. This can be fixed! Because it could not be arranged right away, the first thing the agent said was, "You Do not worry, I'll call you right back" So we remain satisfied customers.

The ferry was very crowded. Most people who were familiar with it quickly made a dash for the tables by the windows. There was no seating inside, other than in the restaurants, for those who had not travelled before. It was too windy to sit outside.

Everything was fine after the car and I made it on board the ship. Lovely food from the buffet and a rather unusually exquisite white wine from an "all-inclusive" buffet. (A beautiful day it was too!) But: BEFORE the car was on board in Helsinki: I experienced nothing but nonsense. Where is the entrance, where to park, when to drive here and there, no one around to help out etc. (Every other international port I have been to have these things in order, and usually clearly signed where to drive.) On these things Viking Line to Helsinki has big improvements to do!

"A pointless wait"
We appreciated the punctuality and confort of our crossings between Helsinki and Tallin. However, why do the conditions of sale stipulate that the tickets are invalid if the boarding pass are not collected two hours in advance? One hour is enough. This way, we wouldn't loose one hour waiting at the port each time.

My wife, two young girls and i travelled from Stockholm to Helsinki on the Viking line ferry. We had a hugely enjoyable cruise, from the ease of boarding, the good sized cabins, the absolutely fantastic buffet dinner and even the evening entertainment! I was also extremely impressed (and surprised) by the good pricing of the journey. Sadly, as we will be returning to Australia very soon, it is unlikely we will be using this ferry line in future. However, I am pleased to be able to provide such a positive review for others!

The sun was shining, the skies were blue and the people on deck were happy taking in the warmth of the August air on deck, many indulging in a beer or snack from the cafe as we enjoyed the views of Stockholm for the last few minutes before we were about our way. I'd checked in about 40 minutes earlier, had a quick shower in my cabin and couldn't wait to get out onto the deck to enjoy a beer with them and catch the late afternoon rays on board, then after taking a few last snaps we were off on our way. The movement of the ship as it left the terminal was so subtle that I occasionally felt the need to look to the land to double check that we were indeed off and this was the start of 4.5 hours of beautiful scenery as we made our way towards the Baltic Sea, stopping briefly at Mariehamn around 11pm, before continuing overnight to Helsinki. As much as I could have stood and enjoyed the scenery all the way from Stockholm until we left the archipelago though, it got to a point were I was hungry and so after checking out my options, I settled on a pizza in one of the lower priced restaurants onboard once the hunger had really kicked in. The food was excellent and good value in my opinion. A great experience then.

Travelling from Stockholm to Helsinki has been a great and unforgettable experience. I had never been on a ship for such a long time. I really enjoyed it and I would repeat with some other friends.

I have chosen deliberately for a crossing from Helsinki to Stockholm WITHOUT cabin. That was a really great experience, the atmosphere was great and thanks to the short nights in summer came the great need for sleep never arise. On board there are many entertainment options, the board disco was open until 3 clock. The luggage you could lock them in a locker, so you had to carry anything without cabin. The fee is here max. 4 €, depending on the size of the locker. The duty free shop had a wide range of confectionery, alcoholic beverages and clothing. Food is not there, but if you do not just want to eat the expensive menu in the ship's restaurant, I ate very inexpensive tapas and enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the cafeteria. The views and just feel a boat trip were great. A crossing without a cab you should have made at least once in life, but is best alone and if you can sleep afterwards ;-). For a family that would be too stressful. I thought it was great and will even make it sure that one time or another. The crowd was very international and there were represented all types of travel of unaccompanied mid-twenties as my humble self to large families. Negative: The toilets were not always clean. The ship was almost on time with 15 minutes late. It was only because it had taken with the docking. The competence of the staff I can not judge, because I had no contact with the staff.
