Trieste Guide

What is there to do in Trieste?

Often disregarded in the search for a weekend break, Trieste holds everything you’d need for a relaxing holiday around the coast of Central Europe. Boasting beautiful buildings, a host of nomadic writers and artists amid confident claims to lay home to Italy’s finest coffee, the quintessential Italian experience is engulfed within the confines of this gorgeous city. A whole afternoon could be spent perusing the sights, soaking in the remarkable structures adorned on the Piazza Unita d’Italia and the Grande Canal in between stopping for a coffee at one of the charming cafes. Trieste in the summer and spring is as idyllic as you could imagine. The wealth of landmarks that are dotted around the Old Town are the perfect antidote for anyone with a penchant for historical architecture. San Giusto Cathedral is the standout attraction; the incredible structures and intricate design cause many to marvel at the edifice. The myriad of impressive buildings can lead to a lengthy itinerary, so treat yourself to some traditional Italian cuisine at one of the fine restaurants at the end of a tiresome day.
