Andros is a fairly large island so renting a car is the best way to explore it properly. If you don’t wish to rent a car then the island also has a bus service operating between the villages and beaches.
The ferry port on Andros is located in the northwest of the island in a village called Gavrio. It’s around 18 miles from Chora, the island’s capital. The port connects Andros with the other Cyclades Islands with regular services to destinations including Tinos, Mykonos, Naxos and Syros. The best way to get to Andros ferry port is to either drive, get a taxi or there are buses connecting the village of Gavrio with Chora.

Tinos port is located in the capital town of Tinos which also goes by the name of Chora. The port connects Tinos with Athens and the other Cyclades Islands and therefore can get very busy, especially in the summer months.
