"Pride of Rotterdam "
Travelled out on pride of hill Travelled back pride of Rotterdam 2nd ship much better service in brasserie Good ferry experience
"Bathroom not cleaned!!!"
We were worried about travelling in light of coronavirus and were assured p&o were doing everything to minimise risk of spread if germs. We were therefore horrified upon checking into our room to find the bathroom had not been cleaned we were utterly disgusted. The staff moved us to another room but we did not feel we had confidence in their cleanliness to risk eating the buffet for evening meal nor breakfast do paid £60 for nothing . After having being reassured cleanliness was a priority this was unacceptable!
"Antiquated WiFi Service"
The WiFi provision on the P&O ferries is extremely poor. I had a premium ticket on the way out and I was told that didn't provide WiFi, I had to pay for it. On the way back I had a Club ticket and was told that this allowed me 30 minutes only. Who on earth came up with such antediluvian thinking? When I did try to use the service on the Pride of York, it was running at less than 1MB a second. It took longer than 30 minutes to download a newspaper! A truly awful service.
"Booking cancelled at last minute "
The original booking to Bruges was cancelled with very little notice despite Luther travel arrangements being made such as accommodation. This added another two hours to an already long drive. It is also very worth mentioning our return crossing 5 weeks later was also cancelled with just a few days notice causing great inconvenience.
"A great trip!"
This was first trip on the ferry from Hull. Booked the winter crossing with some trepidation, but there was no need to be concerned. We had a spacious club cabin fitting the 5 of us in easily. Buffet dinner looked great (although we had brought a picnic) and the all you can eat breakfast was v civilised. A great way to start our holidays. Thank you P&O.
"Visit zeebrugge"
Enjoyed my trip cabin was good would of liked more info on my table what was available to eat.
"Disappointed "
I booked to go with Direct Ferries as I though the price was excellent. I was soon to be disappointed upon my arrival at Hull terminal. I was informed I had no transfer booked to get to Bruges and I would have to pay extra to do so. The lady asked if I'd booked with Direct Ferries as they often do this. Needless to say I wont be using them again
"Service"
Easy to find straight on ship no dramas at all thoroughly enjoyable trip
"Cabins? Great. Other things less so."
Outward was fine... except for the food which was at best lacklustre. Inward my cabin was fantastic. Double plus bunks. Only me in it. Sadly the enjoyment was taken away by unruly children running up and down corridors until well past 10pm. The same happened with one of my trips last year too, which was why I chose the club class. In a quieter part of the ship apparently. There seemed to be no policing by crew. Regrettable. My advice? Book club class for the room quality. But don't expect a quiet evening.
"Fantastic service"
We travelled as 2 couples to Zeebrugge on the Pride of York. The buffet dinner is great quality and the staff do a fantastic job. We returned on the Pride of Bruge and found this to be slightly better service if that can be possible. On the downside we found disembarking to be slow but this is obviously a logistical issue that a guest may not full understand. Overall P&O really offer a good service.
"Friendly"
It was a very good experience. Staff & Crew were friendly. The prices at duty free was very good. Pleasant experience both side of boarding. Thank you. Edward
"Best way to get to the North"
Travelled on this route at least twice a year, I've also travelled Newcastle/Amsterdam and many times on the tunnel. This is the most relaxing, value for money method when visiting Lancashire and the border control here is the absolute best compared to every other operator in the UK that I have passed through.
"Zeebrugge to Hull"
The Club Class cabin was cold - no effective way to alter thermostats that did not break Health & Safety legislation. The cabin was noisy especially during the night.
"Trip to Bruges"
First time we'd taken a holiday like this instead of flying. Was a good experience. Easy process of parking and getting on board. Facilities on ferry very good: decent restaurants and bars. Not overcrowded. Cabin (club class) was spacious and comfortable
"Brilliant time on the ferries "
Had an amazing time with amazing friends. Lovely staff on board. Great entertainment from the singer's. Only one down side to the trip on the way back, someone who new the singers, told us all we where miserable B_______ for not clapping the singers, when we where.
"Check you have coach transfers......"
Please check very carefully when booking with Direct Ferries. Only discovered on checking in at Hull that return coach transfers from Zeebrugge to Bruges were NOT included. Extra £28 added to the cost and not mentioned anywhere on the online booking form. Rest of trip was fine.....
"Hull to bruges"

"New experience on a different route"
We tried this route to Hull as an Experiment, and to compare with the normal trip to Dover. On board there was obviously a Little confusion with finding the Right deck and "keys" to the cabin. Good to see that we were not alone. Next time we´ll know. The corridors are too narrow for passengers with varied Hand baggage, disabilities and small Children. But the club cabin gave a positive Impression, with welcoming Drinks and a (dismal) view of the port. The beds were comfy and apart from myself, we all slept well, despite the choppy Crossing. The evening meal was quite good but spoiled by some staff who showed no interest in beckoning Hands of guests. I was not alone and was able to share smiles with other dissatisfied guests. Even the man behind the serving counter simply threw our gammon onto our plates. Just like School dinners. Breakfast was much better….doing everything yourself. For the Money nowadays it was good value, considering the multiple choices of dishes on offer. It reminded us of Basil´s "Communication Problems" in Fawlty Towers. Some staff were brilliant and others indifferent. But communication Needs to be improved, just as with a Football Team.
"Excellent"
Lovely club class cabins and excellent meal in the Brasserie
"our escape to Scotland ..."
we were very happy to go to Hull with P&O Ferries. everything was perfect: nice cabin, good foof, nice crew. we will certainly recommand P&O
"Great value "
Easy to book, excellent price
"Hull to zebrugge"
Cheery staff in Hull. Smiling staff on board. Happy Friday night travellers enjoying the cruise. Altogether a pleasant voyage
"Home trip from Europe "
Usual good food in the Kitchen. Particularly good entertainment from double act of guitarist and vocalist in the lounge. Spoilt a bit by noisy youths in cabin next door overnight. Result was driver feeling very tired for the home drive due to disturbed night. German students in room 1042 responsible for the noise.
"Return Hull / Rotterdam"
We had a great trip both ways. Entertainment was very good. We'll go club cabin next time. Food was okay had fish n Chips in the pay a bit more restaurant and they weren't very good.
"Hull to Zebrugge"
Hull to Zebrugge
"Comfortable crossing with suportive staff, shame about the room!"
We enjoyed our crossing to Zeebrugge and back on the Pride of Bruges. The staff were friendly and supportive and the crossing comfortable. The rooms are cramped (it is almost impossible for two people to move around at the same time - we had to take turns changing at night and dressing in the morning). We dined in the Brasserie on the way out and were disappointed in the quality and cost of the food and drink for the price we paid - we would not dine there on a future crossing.
"FERRY"
BOOKED WITH DIRECT FERRYS, all ok except we got the worst cabin on board both ways, booked a standard cabin as have in the past when booking with P and O direct but cabin always been inside along corridor and been ok for one night, but this was sideways to corridor and tiny, we got an upgrade on way home on the ferry for £25, must give third party bookings the dog kennels, everything else good
"Overnight crossing"
Pleased with the service we received onboard but a little disappointed with the breakfast the evening meal in the kitchen restaurant was really nice and I would recommend it
"Ferry Crossing "
The ferry was dated and the staff were not as friendly as previous experience going to Rotterdam. The room upgrade was good bigger and more space well worth the extra £16. The shower room on the return journey was dirty and have obtained photographs for customer service. The entertainment on thecreturn journey was far better than going, however the DJ was better vice versa as was the staff friendless
"Brilliant"
BRILLIANT SHIP,BRILLIANT CREW ESPECIALLY TECH GENIUS AT STARBUCKS WHO WAS A STAR FIXING WIFI
"Well done"
Enjoyed the crossings both ways. Cabins were clean. All the crew were polite & efficient. A flat calm sea also helped.
"Regular traveller from Hull to Zeebrugge."
I regularly travel via P&O from Hull to Zeebrugge and have always had a good trip. Only problem seems to be trying to board through the chaotic and seemingly inept process before boarding run by the port bods. Recently went through the extra security check, got waved through, I slowed to ask a person there if this was correct, got blanked then on the way out heard a load of shouts to stop. Idiots should make drivers fully aware of where to go and what to do as it was my first time in that situation. My beef over, the ferries are always well presented and all of the staff willing and waiting to help with a friendly smile. Food is good, and plenty of facilities to have a relaxing evening whether you want quiet or music, coffee or alcohol. We only use the basic rooms as we just want to sleep there, but they are a bit tight and using the ladder for the upper bunk is getting more difficult and awkward for me so what I do now is pull the mattress, with sheet, down onto the floor and kip there. In the morning just bung it up again.
"Pride of Bruges"
The food was excellent,a huge choice ,the staff were helpful and very efficient, the cabin was very clean, looking forward to my next trip.
"P&o ferry"
Extremely enjoyed our experience. Food was good and value for money and service from staff is impeccable. Rooms are clean and fresh towels daily Would definitely travel again with P&O
"4th trip and will definitely do again! "
Easy and hassle free journey Hull to Zeebrugge return. Clean if fairly basic boat with all what you need. Enjoyable meal in the restaurant with attentive staff. Great content in the club cabin mini bar 👍
"Staff"
Now travelled with p & o for last 4 years and the last 2 years from Hull to Zeebrugge ,staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly ,it makes our return from holidays an enjoyable experience
"Great trip"
Trying to cut down on flights and carbon footprint so decided to take ferry to Zeebrugge for a short break. What a relaxing way to travel, no bag scans or queues. The journey became part of the holiday rather. P&O staff were friendly and helpful and our cabin was spotless. I will definitely make the trip again and take the whole family next time.
"Good trip"
First time travelling between Hull Zeebrugge and return and it was a very good trip. Slept well in the cabin which although small are fairly comfortable. The food in the kitchen was good both for dinner and breakfast we booked these as part of the package. Booked a travel pack for the car as well but this never arrived and mistakenly we thought we would pick it up on board the ship - they knew nothing about it. So we bought the necessary items and are asking for a refund if the pack price. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable trip.
"Good, comfortable trip."
We were on the Pride of Bruge both outbound and inbound. Cabins are small but ideal for what you need for one night. Everything is there just very compact. We had an inside 2 berth. We haven't been on the ships since 2016 and the disappointing thing for us was the cinema has been taken away. We used to like having a nice meal and then go and watch a movie. We did still have a nice meal in the Brasserie but then went and had a drink in the bar rather than watch a film. The two drivers in our party opted for soft drinks as we had a long drive ahead of us the next day. So we would have rather have watched a film. Staff are very friendly and courteous and very professional.
"Really good P&O but more for allergy sufferers please"
Every crew member had a great ‘can do’ attitude and were very attentive to our needs. As a family of five (three children under 12 we booked a five Berth club cabin which really was fantastic. We ate in the ‘kitchen’ restaurant on a D&B package which was great value. Our 7 yeear old has a nut and dairy allergy and it would be nice to see a little more recognition of for those with such food allergies by providing clearer guidance on contents eg was the chicken basted in butter and to provide an alternative to milk for breakfast cereals.
"Great Vessel. Nice and clean, at least when I was aboard. Staff are friendly and competent."
The ship herself has a certain charm; the Japan built "Pride of Bruges," former "Norsun" is a vessel of decent decor and spacious interior. The food is pricey but it seems to be of good quality. I can't speak of the dinner buffet but the breakfast had quite a few options, many though its not clear were vegetarian options, as there is no labelling to indicate so. It would be great if there was a symbol on the item's card to say if it was vegetarian, or vegan. The cabin was practical, efficient and hygienic. As a single traveller, I have nothing to complain about; if I were sharing that cabin, it may have felt a little small. There are two things I would have liked to have seen. One was a detailed specification of the ship and a smoke free open deck, perhaps one of the two passenger accessible decks to be smoke free - some of us go outside for some fresh air.
"Crossing"
Dinner in the restaurant excellent. Facilities as described. Outdoor bar a real treat when weather permits. Would have liked the shop to sell magazines and feel the quality of entertainment could have been better. Crossing very punctual.
"Excellent trip!"
We were quite surprised when we discovered the size of our Club Cabin: it was larger than expected and was excellent value for our family of 5! We have appreciated the two windows with sea view, the comfortable bathroom with shower and large towels, the minibar and the good beds. Food in ‘the Kitchen’ was also better than expected. Both for diner and breakfast we found buffets with offering a very wide choice of tasty food. Our 3 children loved it!
"Very Smooth"
Getting on board in Hull was very quick and efficient. Crew were all very friendly and helpful. Food and service in the a la Carte restaurant was good. Entertainment in the lounge bar was also good. Breakfast in the buffet restaurant was quite good. A bit of a delay once we got off at Zeebrugge going through passport control. On return the port area seemed a bit disorganised and we went through two passport checks. However, once onboard again the crew were friendly and helpful. Food again was good, and Dave Dove was good entertainment in the lounge bar. Again a delay of an hour going through passport control. The Ships and crews were great, the Ports just need to get themselves sorted out and the whole thing would be a much better experience.
"Very good trip"
We have a beautiful trip
"fabulous trip"
Really impressed at the loveliness of the ship. Entertainment was fab, food was beautiful. Loved the whole experience of sailing. Will definately be doing it again.
"P&O Pride of Bruges"
We were really not impressed by this ferry. On the way to Europe we decided to have a meal on board. For £22 we got a quite mediocre meal. My husband had some salmon that was completely dry and tasteless. On our way back (29 July), our cabin had a really bad sewage smell. Our daughter was not impressed by the lack of free WiFi. She wanted to buy a card but was told by a member of staff that the connection was not good at all. To finish us off the queue to passport control was very long. Overall not a pleasant experience and no value for money.
"A convenient way to cross to the continent from the North instead of going to Dover"
P&O Ferries run a very well organised service to Zeebrugge from Hull. The ship is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. We have travelled most year on this route and have noticed the prices have increased considerable which makes for significant extra holiday expense but the convenience of travelling to Hull instead of Dover for the crossing is the balancing factor.
"Bruges trip"
Two complaints. Why was I charged €47 euros for a bottle of gin priced at £35. Literally taking the public for a ride. To save the utter confusion when we disembarked a sticker with P&O on the windscreen is all it would take. Other than that the trip was good
"Week in Brugge.. traveled by ferry "
Ferry ⛴ good experience , food 🥘 very good
"Zeebrugge ferry road signs"
Dreadful signage to access ferry port. Leave plenty of time to arrive eventually
"wrong ship"
My trip from Hull By P&O was yet again a pleasure. for me it is the best way to travel to the continent. However! I ended up in Rotterdam!! Apparently we arrived late at checkin, ok our fault! That being the case it seems apparent that we were put on the Rotterdam ferry by default so that at least we got to the continent, ok fine with me! This was not realised until we docked in Rotterdam. I contacted Direct ferries who told me that the port authrity in Hull explaiend this to me upon checkin and this was recorded. I have requested a transcript of said recording, this will not be forthcoming as no such contact was made. By not being made aware of the change of circumstances of arriving in Holland I was denied the opportunity to ammend my arrangements for onward travel and , more importantly my insurance became invalid. I hasten to say that I believe this was no fault of P&O ferries and the problem was between Direct ferries and the port of Hull authorities Regards Peter Duffy
"Road trip"
Comfy, clean and calm crossing. Good food in restaurant can’t complain at all. Plenty of space for sports car, thought it might of been like sardines.
"Unhelpful staff"
I booked my trip on-line but did not see the option to add breakfast. I rang Directferries to add breakasft and was told this would amount to an amendment of my ticket therefore would cost £35 on top of the cost of breakfast. I explained that when I purchased the ticket there was no option for meals but this was to no avail.I told him I will complain abot this but he did not care a bit. I refused to pay the extra cost and I rang P&O ferries directly and I paid for breakfast for 2 (my wife and I) over the phone without any extra charge. I wonder if the lack of options to purchase meals is intetional and if the customer care attendant had proper training on the matter.
"The crew are heroes"
We have always enjoyed doing the Hull-Zeebrugge and Hull-Rotterdam sailing but last night was extraordinary. My husband had a medical emergency onboard, it was late at night and we were both really worried, but the amount of care, attention, support and kindness we got from the crew was unbelievable and they’ve done everything in their power to help us at night and proactively came to check us in the morning as well. Their medical training and knowledge is excellent. Our special thanks go to Anushka, Steve and Cameron, please tell them they are our heroes. We are okay now. Thank you!
"Brilliant trip"
Fantastic trip, very comfortable, my room was clean and fantastic. Service was perfect and staff very helpful
"Hull/Zeebrugge crossing."
This is the only company that will take us from Zeebrugge to Hull return. We have been very lucky with calm crossings for the last few years, at all times of the year. The staff are outstanding, calm, curtious, & helpful. Our cabin (Club) has always been fairly clean, cool, & quiet. Bedding & towels good. The food is not brilliant, but just about adequate. The food needs more seasoning. The prawns taste like bags of water. Please can we have brown/granary toast. The Linguini was excellent. The Chocolate/Coffee cake last evening looked beautiful but tasted of nothing. The Duty free shop staff were very, very helpful.
"Satisfied customer"
We normally travel to France using the Channel Tunnel and this was our first time using the ferry to Europe, it takes a little more time to board etc but once you aboard everything is very relaxed. Overall we enjoyed the experience the only slight mar was that the return voyage was quite rough and both my wife and myself felt the effects, it is quite an old ship perhaps a newer ship would not have the stability issues we suffered.
"Disappointing!"
No WIFI access despite advertised at booking. Shower either scalding hot or freezing cold. Bed incredibly uncomfortable with ill fitting sheet.
"Excellent"
Excellent service, comfort, restaurants.
"Business Trip"
Great food, clean cabins
"Can't get a coffee"
Unfortunately we had to wait almost 2 hours in the car until we were let into the ferry. The evening and night were ok nothing wrong cabins, bars and restaurant good. In the morning was a massive queue at the coffee shop probably 50 people ( the ferry wasn't full). We then asked in the breakfast restaurant if we could have just a cup of coffee, considering the big meal the night before, no it was not possible without paying £12.90 for the buffet. We had a late arrival in Zeabrugge and it took a long time to get out of the ferry. The ferry from Hull to Rotterdam is much better.
"Really good experience"
Just what I needed to travel to the continent without the horror of the motorways to Dover! Comfortable and relaxing.
"Security"
In comparison with air travel the security seems very lax. No checking of bags in either direction.
"Just what we expected."
We have used this route many times and found it to be very good. Car deck parking is fast and efficient. The ship is always punctual, clean & sweet smelling, with very curtious staff (although difficult to understand at times). We always travel club class and found it to be comfortable, spacious and has coffee/tea making facilities, plus wines and soft drinks in the fridge. Sometimes the bathrooms can be a little worn and small. The ships catering is okay, quite palatable but lacks flavour. We have not used the entertainments.
"Relaxing Journey"
This time we had a really relaxing journey. Even tough it was end of November, the sea was very calm. We had the most beautiful Christmas dinner on board with a first class service.
"Couldn't fault it"
Superb, prebooked buffet dinner and breakfast. Drink quite expensive. Hot in cabin but comfortable. Easy drive on and off system.
"very enjoyable"
We found the whole trip on the ferry very comfortable and the food was excellent
"Ferry trip to Belgium "
Clean well kept ship with friendly and polite staff I would recommend to a friend
"Zeebrugga P and O"
Sailing was as expected. Staff helpful, cabins a bit basic. Prices on board a bit more than normal but not over the top. Roads near Zeebrugge have been changed/improved recently and any sat nav not up to date will send you the wrong way. Signage to the ferry in Belgium, on the major routes, is very poor and it is easy to miss and and go past.
"Great ferry"
Had a great time onboard.the staff were all friendly and welcoming. But don't forget to book transfers to and from the ferry terminal,or you can be caught out with an unexpected bill.
"P and o hull to zeebrugge"
Ship punctual. Easy to navigate. Food exceptional. Smooth crossing. Very clean. Excellent animal welfare and friendly staff.
"Calais Who??"
Why have I not done this route before??? I usually do Calais to Dover and vice versa but if you are from the North like me you should travel between Zeebrugge to Hull in the future. I couldn't face the drive from Dover to the North on the UK's ever worsening motorways so thought i would give this route a go. Great staff great food and a very relaxed crossing in my cabin with a few brandies. A 2 hour drive to Manchester when I landed in Hull and home before lunch. Will defo use it again.
"Meets expectations "
We enjoyed a very good crossing the 2 berth cabin was comfortable and clean meeting expectations. The meals were good as usual with plenty of choice and good value notwithstanding a price increase since I last used the service. As we were only traveling one direction, we had to pay more than I have before, however it was still reasonable value.
"A good experience"
Travelled out on Pride of York and home on Pride of Bruges, and both trips were very pleasant. The staff are always courteous and cabins clean. Food in the Brasserie was fine and all in all, both trips were fine.
"Sunday evening Zebrugge to Hull crossing"
An extremely good crossing with delightful and helpful crew. Comfy bunks with decent linen. A very good male female duo ( sorry I've forgotten their names - she is Scottish and he has a great sense of humour ). Altogether a good experience. Thank you.
"A little more care needed."
The ship used to TRAVEL BACK TO HULL from Belgium {THE PRIDE OF YORK } was not as comfortable as the one on the outward trip, on up grading to Club class cabin there was no hot water and the heating in the cabin did not work on the night which would have been helpfull as it was quite chilly on that night. Say this about the ship i would and proberly wil use again in the future like i have in the past.
"All good"
All great except wifi
"Crossing cancelled"
The representative I spoke to to rearrange my crossing initially offered an inferior cabin to the one we paid for. Then gave us what we paid for. No apology and no gesture to compensate us for the additional cast and inconvenience. As a regular traveller this was very disappointing.
"Recent trip September 2018"
Very pleasant journey, even though the sea was very rough. All the staff very helpful, always smiling and very efficient. The food was of a high quality and lots of different choices of menu. The cabin was comfortable with extra pillows provided on request. Nice warm shower in the morning. The singer in the lounge bar was very relaxing and chilled out , just what was needed.
"my journey with P&O Ferries"
the staff were highly competent and very friendly and efficient. I upgraded to club class on the return journey and thought the facilities and the appointment of the cabin with tea and coffee making facilities was extremely good and the beds were very comfortable and I had a very good nights sleep. On the outward journey we had a superior outside cabin and although not as luxurious it was again comfortable bright an d very clean. Both nights we eat in the restaurant and thought the meal was of quite a good standard.Altogether both journeys were very comfortable and enjoyable and I will definitely travel with P&O ferries in the future
"Private trip with elderly persons"
Ship in good shape.
"A nice start to our holiday break."
This was a very good experience and a great start to our Holiday. We used both the breakfast and dinner facility which we found very enjoyable although we did think the breakfast was quite expensive. The cabins were adequately equipped with comfortable bunks, but the air conditioning was quite noisy.
"France he we come"
Staff friendly and help full flood lots of choice and firs class and cabins clean and well presented
"2 Fantastic journeys over the last week!"
We were super impressed with P and O ferries which we have not been on for many years. Super surprised and delighted by everything, wonderful friendly crew throughout, great food, clean and tidy,, the cabins were just perfect and v comfortable beds. Only one negative we sat in the car for an age waiting to disembark - much too long! But we will return without doubt was a pleasure. Thank you.
"Best Way to Europe from The North"
North Sea crossing: very handy just to be able to board, relax, have a meal and a snooze and wake up at port destination. Beats the drive down to Dover any day! The grub is as good as it gets onboard ship, and the table wine is fairly priced. The cabins are rather small, but very clean and fit for purpose. The top bunk is for the agile. All lounges are comfy and clean. Staff always helpful and friendly. Boarding/disembarkation, partly governed by border formalities, takes a little longer than the short crossings. On a recent Dover crossing, my wife missed not being able to head straight away for our cabin and put her feet up! I've been using these ships since they came into service nearly thirty years ago.
"Worth the upgrade "
We got the club 5 berth room and it was great. Lots of lovely freebies and a large room with a double bed. The only suggestion is to get there early so you're first off the boat. The queue at the other end for passport control is frustrating.
"Overnight Zeebrugge to Hull"
Cabin was excellent, food selection was great and the staff were very friendly. We’d definitely do the same journey again- a painless way to travel with 3 children.
"Hull to Zeebrugge"
Very impressed with the service and the whole experience. The staff on board were very helpful and friendly. My only complaint is with border control in Hull. After leaving the ship it took 45 mins to get through passport control. This compared to 15 mins in Belgium. This has to be the fault of our government for cutting back services. Need more people on passport control.
"Rod trip"
all good, very nice crossing and cabin very clean and tidy, upgraded and wasn't disappointed... 😃
"Good trip"
Rather slow boarding but once on board efficient crew organisation meant straight to cabin Booking dinner etc. Singer rather loud in bar but restaurant service very good. Breakfast service very good. Arrived on time, pleasant trip.
"Food and duty free"
Overall, the trip was ok,however,to have an evening meal we had to wait four hours, till 9.45,the system is very poor.the other downside,we were browsing through the duty free catalogue, and found some Irish whiskies that i'd never seen before,so i went to purchase some, however they wernt availiable, due to not enough room on the shelf, but there was enough room for 4 rows of Jack daniels,3 rows of Jamesons and several other brands given plenty of space,so why not include all of what you advertise in the book,on the shelves,or at least stock in the store room. Would i recommened you, well, theres not a lot of choice is there.
"Brilliant start and end to our holidays..."
We had a fabulous experience both on the way out from Hull and, 2 weeks later, on the return journey from Zeebrugge. Cannot speak too highly of the staff who were exceedingly friendly, helpful and polite. We upgraded our dinner and breakfast vouchers to eat in the Brasserie and were so glad we did. The meals in the restaurant were excellent, as was the position of the table next to a big picture window.
"Excellent Crossing"
Excellent crossing, clean cabin and ship. Well communicated whilst on board. Food options were plentiful. Would certainly use again.
"Excellent start to our trip to Belgium."
Hassle free. Cabin very good, clean etc. Excellent food in restaurant.
"P&O Hull to Zeebrugge"
I have used this service many times for my annual motorcycle outing to Europe. It is perfectly adequate, efficient and safe plus reasonable value, avoiding a long trip from Scotland to Dover. The online booking with Direct Ferries is much better than P&O’s site, however when I needed to change my return travel, I could not get hold of Direct Ferries despite a long wait on the phone. Instead P&O were able to make the change at the port in minutes.
"sleeping accommodation was adequate, however the cabin we were in did not have a porthole but we had"
It was a means to an end. Wouldn't rave about it.
"Ferry trip from zeebrugge"
Fabulous trip great food great entertainment P&O are Fathoms ahead of Brittany Ferries for service ...will definitely use again and again
"Zeebrugge Hull"
Is very nice all..
"Trip to zeebrugge"
Excellent crossing and the staff were very helpful.
"Fantastic boat"
The boat is very clean the staff were friendly the food was ok
"Lovely trip"
Had a few days in BRUGES and travelled over on the pride of bruges. Updated my cabin as the one issued was too small. Got a nice cabin with window for extra £25. Tried the restaurant going out which was lovely. Had the buffet on the was back and forth value would recommend that.
"Pleasant crossing "
We use this crossing twice a year and it is a great way to travel from French Alps to Scotland. Sleep, feed and rest mid journey. Food great, beds comfortable
"amazing trip with friends"
Wow what an amazing trip over to Bruges and back with friends. We stayed in club class double going out and club class 3 berth coming home. It was perfect, clean comfy and so enjoyable. Food was brilliant and amazing value. would highly recommend travelling by ferry and we will be doing so again oursleves
"A lovely trip"
We had a lovely experience on the ferries A slick operation, our first time Hull to Zeebrugge and everything went smoothly. Rooms &, ferry clean We ate in both restaurants and both were enjoyable with good service
"Will use this route and company again."
Loved the fact that you could stay in your cabin up until being called to your car. Other ferry journeys I’ve taken, you’re forced to leave the cabin so that cleaning can start, over an hour before you dock. Which means you are also woken ridiculously early. However, even after paying for an upgrade to premium class, there was no TV provided in the cabin. Which are standard even on shorter routes on other ferries. Overall a good journey, with a comfortable bed in a clean cabin.
"Pleasant trip"
We use the ferries on a regular basis and generally find we have a pleasant trip However, it's the second time in weeks I have narrowly escaped injury falling on very slippery shower floors. There used to be small disposable bath mats in place that must only cost pennies, to reintroduce could save someone a nasty injury
"Travel "
Quality
"As always, the best route from the North to the continent."
We booked a standard 4 berth cabin, as we always do for the two of us,because we are unable to climb to the top bunk. The cabin we were given first, red deck, was pretty noisy with a high pitched whirring noise from the ventilation system. We use these Ferries quite often for and it wasn’t the usual sound. The receptionist was very helpful and found us a cabin on blue deck, which was quiet, but really cold! It was impossible to adjust the heating/ventilation. Apart from this issue, the usual uneventful crossing. It was apparent immediately by the way that the ferry had had a refit. Good job! The shower and loo was very clean, and had definitely lost the usual urine smell!
"A Crossing, not a Cruise"
P&O try to make this into a cruise, bars and music. Ok for holidaymakers but travellers need a comfortable, quiet place to sit, read papers, plan the next day, have a little drink etc. Cabins are fine, ours have always been quiet, cosy with decent shower and a socket for electronics etc. Anyway P&O try hard to make it an occasion, but the bars are expensivissimo. Duty free shops are just shops, forget any idea of actually duty free prices as the ship sails totally in EU waters.
"Relaxing in style"
A perfect end to a hectic trip back to UK from France. The crossing was calm, the staff friendly and efficient and all facilities of a high standard.Great meal in The Kitchen with plenty of choice, something for everyone. Marvellous- this crossing never disappoints. Thank you!
"Holiday to Bruges"
I was very impressed with the variety of entertainment and seating / lounging areas on the boat. Its a shame we travelled whilst storm Brian howled away as the overnight part was very rough. The food in the main "kitchen" was great, loads of choice and fully stocked all the time. I'm a little disappointed with the fact we could never get in the Brasserie as it booked up as the doors opened!?! On our return journey, our cabin was next to some kind of vacuum room? and so again I hade no sleep due to the noise of the pumping every 2 minutes.
"Bruges holiday"
Ideal way to travel to Belgium or France and arrive fresh. Great choice of food for evening and breakfast, slick eating arrangements, helpful staff 10/10.
"General view."
Reasonably priced fare. Drinks and meals, more expensive than expected.
"GREAT SERVICE"
Travelling on P&O Ferries between Zeebrugge and Hull is always a pleasure from start to finish. The staff, including the border control officers, are always polite and efficient and getting vehicles on and off the ferries is extremely easy thanks to the clear directions given. The dining on board the ferries is very good for the price and I always enjoy the selection available. The bar prices for beer (that's all I drink on board) are good and the bar staff always friendly. I always use the inside cabins and although small, are fine for a single nights accommodation. All in all, I highly recommend using this route for travel to the north of England.
"Club class experience "
The trip out to on the pride of bruges could not fault at all room was fresh and clean and everything we could ask for. The return trip on the pride of York was not very impressed the room was in need of decorating the sink in the bathroom was disgusting not clean at all the the shower was in need of replacement the water went everywhere soaked all the floor for the money we paid should of at least been clean
"excellent"
Excellent service, comfortable rooms , friendly, helpfull, unobtrusive staff. restaurant clean, with an extensive choice of well prepared food.
"Hull-Zeebrugge"
Ship was fine, clean and comfortable, we used the ship for transport of ourselves and a car as an alternative to Euro tunnel. It was not any cheaper just different. it took an hour for us to get through passport control in Zeebrugge. Don´t know if that will become the new norm after brexit but something to think about if total travelling time is important. It made a difference to us as we were driving direct to Gothenburg from Zeebrugge.
"Your record is wrong but ........."
Due to illness we were obliged to cancel our trip but, on production of a medical certificate, the ferry company were most accommodating and has guaranteed a fresh booking for us during the coming twelve month period.. Thank you.
"I may never fly again"
Wonderful experience. Parked outside the terminal at Hull . No Q so straight through to departure lounge. Onto ship. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Coffee lounge, restaurants, bar & shop on board were all fab... A full nights sleep and we were ready for breakfast before an easy exit from the ship. Straight onto bus outside the terminal and 20 minutes later we were in Brugge. The return journey was just as easy.... From leaving Brugge we were in our cabin on the ship within 40 minutes. We will definitely use the Hull Zeebrugge crossing again...
"Value for money"
Thanks Direct Ferries, a better cabin and better price than P&O can offer to full unit holders. Well done.u
"ferries home "
Used this ferry in the past always good service and facilities, But found it very expensive this time !!!
"Why do we need a title?"
We come from Scotland and the trip via Hull is a lot better than Dover. I also travel regularly from Heysham to the Isle Of Man. That ferry has tea making facilities in the cabin. this is a nice touch which would be worth a few pounds extra. We liked getting access to the boat 2 hours early
"Lovely Crossing"
This was our third year of using this crossing. The food has vastly improved and we had a lovely evening meal and breakfast. Cabin was comfortable. We had booked a premium cabin but it was too close to a noisy children's area so we were offered another which also had a very noisy generator opposite, then finally were given a quiet window cabin. The staff were very helpful as I was a little unwell at first after a long drive from South of France. Shopping experience is fine although it would be nice to see more 'local' produce such as French wines, Yorkshire produce, Belgian produce. Good selection of perfumes and make up. Nice to have a cafe for coffee and snacks. We enjoyed pizza and hot dog on the way out. Shame the cinema has gone as an alternative entertainment. The entertainment in the bar is average - children's show, cabaret, bingo. Wouldn't bother with a premium cabin as those further away are quieter and the only difference we could really see was premium is slightly larger and shower room has a tray rather than a wet room. A lovely way to travel to and from continent if you are from North - easy to board, check in, food good, nice to wake up and you are there.
"P&O Zeebrugge crossing "
We found this crossing to be significantly less good than are recent sailings with Stena and Brittany. We were disappointed in the lack of catering available - two relatively highly priced options or limited cafe. Having experienced well priced and good children's meal deal options on other crossings, this was disappointing. Children's play facilities were also extremely limited and our cabin was very utilitarian and basic. For the price of the crossing, I would expect a few nicer touches and better family friendly services on board.
"Excellent Journey Once Again"
Check in was smooth and painless. Our cabins were clean and tidy. The food was excellent as usual and the entertainment kept our children happy for a few hours in the evening. Only one issue, our cabin on our outward journey was next to the play area and some unattended children were screaming and shouting until 22:00. Maybe a small issue but when you have young children trying to sleep, it does become a problem.
"The holiday starts here! "
This is a very comfortable way to start a journey into Europe. Cabin spotless, well equipped, comfortable. We opted for a Premier to be confident of a quiet night, which we had. Food in the Kitchen was good, service friendly and efficient. The shop had a good range of products to browse and we found the lounges very nice to spend the evening. All in all, a good journey and a route we will certainly take again.
"Excellent crossing"
We have travelled Hull to Zeebrugge and return on many occasions and have never been disappointed. This trip was no exception. After a long haul from the south of France it was great to get on board, eat at the restaurant and have a good night's sleep before our journey up to Edinburgh.
"P&O Zeebrugge to Hull"
its a pleasure to sail between Zeebrugge and Hull in this way. P&O have put together a good service, staff were pleased to help with any small issue you encounter. In the restaurant the buffet is enjoyable and well staffed so you never have to wait too long to be seated if you arrive in good time. The cabin was clean and we enjoyed the comfort. Nice extras such as mini bar and flat screen tv made it possible to spend comfortable family time in the cabin. Keep up the good service P&O!
"Holiday"
Good experience. Staff very attentive. Food excellent. Bunk beds not suitable for older passengers though. Would use again.
"Excellent!"
Love these ferries - make the journey part of the holiday. Clean cabin and ship in general. Didn't eat in restaurant so can't say anything about food, but bars good and also clean. As we were travelling from the north-east, this certainly beats driving down to Dover and staying somewhere overnight, and is probably not much more expensive.
"Trip to Zeebrugge"
The trip and cabin were as we had anticipated, but this was our first trip on this ferry and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fantastic buffet.
"summer trip for elederly"
I have used this trip Hull/Zeebrugge a number of times. I am now 81 years old & walk with 2 sticks. I particularly appreciate the personal help given to get from check in to & from my cabin with luggage - and hope to be able to do the trip again next year
"Relaxing crossing "
We had a lovely time crossing from Hull to Zeebrugge as well as from Zeebrugge to Hull. The staff couldn't have been more helpful both times. We were travelling with our dog and that all worked out well with the on board kennels. I also liked the fact that you were allowed to exercise them during a period of time and that the dogs got regularly checked on. The staff in the restaurant was fantastic and especially one member (I think he was called Ronnie) stood out making flowers for my daughter and me out of paper napkins (it's the small things that matter!!) It was our first time using the Ferry but it will certainly not be the last!
"Easy travel"
Straightforward crossing and good start and finish to our holiday
"Smooth crossing"
Very enjoyable in all respects
"Nice crossing"
Ship was on time even a bit early. Room size ok and clean. Food nice. Staff could be friendlier.
"Shakey old boat, dismal cabins & rowdy school kids"
Not impressed. I booked a 4 berth outside cabin (for the two of us), but after discovering how cramped it was we found out it would be another £50 to get something decent. That is too much. Furthemore the bar area is completely walk through and hordes of people traipsed back and forth making it impossible to quietly relax.with a coffee. People waiting to be served at the bar were making jokes about how all the items on the counter were shaking from the vibration. Finally for two hours in the evening we were treated to a school bus party running around and shouting in the cabin area with a limp teacher ineffectually shsssing them until I intervened more directly and asked her to do something concrete. We'd been on a ferry from Patras Greece to Ancona Italy just three days beforehand and it was superior in all respects other than similarly helpful staff.
"Ran out of bacon at breakfast!"
Fuss-free boarding; booked outside 4-berth cabin for the 2 of us - more space and same price as 2-berth; clean and comfortable. Excellent buffet dinner but breakfast was not good - had to wait for bacon and 2 coffee machines not working. Altogether a bit rushed and not up to the usual standard. My real gripe is with the pricing. We had to pay £370 for a single journey for 2 adults and a motorhome, cabin and meals whilst there were several parties on board who had paid next to nothing for a two night stay with meals and cabin included. But c'est la vie! It's convenient for us so suppose we have to put up with it. Won't stop us from using them in the future.
"Fèrry to zeebrugger"
My return ferry from zeebrrugger to hull was cancelled and rerouted from rotterdam . There was no mention of compensation from p&o for the extra 2 hour drive . In the future i will book one way and then i can book the return journey from were i choose.
"A good night"
Recently I traveled on the pride of Bruges and it was my first time traveling on a ferry as an adult so I didn't know what to expect, but I can say that it passed everything I was looking for. Plus the trinity trio was amazing you guys rock the songs were well known I think I sang to all but one I hope next time I'm on it you guys are playing do I can sing along again -Your canadian friend Sam
"NOT IMPRESSED WITH CANCELLATION/SERVICE PROVIDED."
My crossing was cancelled close to the departure date & no suitable alternative crossing was offered. I was left to my own devises to an alternative ferry which cost me any extra £58 + £15 booking fee which was wavered after I complained. In my opinion the booking company should have stood any extra cost for my re scheduled crossing. On my return journey to the UK it was clear I was unable to the port on time, so I tried to call the Booking Company to advise them but was unable to connect. My wife contacted them from the UK & a new booking was arranged/paid for the following evening (extra £39) was demanded. As this was 24 hrs. wait I decided to travel to Calais & get the chunnel home as my son, a fireman needed to be back in work the following day (£150 cost). All in all the was a very expensive & disappointing weekend in term of travel.
"This want the ferry I booked"
A week before we were due to go on holiday the ferry was cancelled due to 'technical difficulties' so we travelled to Rotterdam instead of zeebrugge adding another couple of hours and 100 miles to our journey. I was assured I was booked on a different vessel for the return journey so there would be no problem. Yet 2 days before our return again the ferry was cancelled, this time we opted to return via Calais much cheaper crossing but then told I wasn't entitled to a refund. Sorry but your customer service leaves a lot to be desired
"ferry p and o "
good service friendly staff at check in. food to expensive on ferry and drinks .
"Cancellation of our Hull-Zeebrugge trip"
We were booked through Direct Ferries to travel to Zeebrugge from Hull on 18th May 2017. The ship we were booked on was unavailable (we found out from the Hull Daily Mail it was due to a fire). Direct Ferries advised us to re-book on the Amsterdam crossing, but those booked through P&O were given priority leaving us with no other choice but to cancel and re-book from Dover to Calais. As we live in South West Scotland this was not ideal, but the only option at such short notice. We have used Hull-Zeebrugge many times and have always enjoyed the trip and I understand that the ships have been upgraded and would have been all too happy to travel that way again. Will think seriously about booking directly with P&O next time, as they look after people booked directly in preference to those booked through a third party. We received our refund from Direct Ferries but no compensation for the great inconvenience caused, re-booking to fit with our travel plans and booked accommodation on the continent, not to mention the long trip to Dover.
"Plain sailing"
Our crossings were faultless. The brasserie & its staff were exceptional. The only fault was the serving of Starbucks so called coffee.
"Hull - Zeebrugge Pride of York 9 May 2017"
All good! arrived 90 mins before sailing, check in and security very smooth - much more pleasant than any airport check in/security! Spotlessly clean cabin and polite, helpful staff. Nothing not to like!
"6 hours late"
The ferry had gear box trouble and arrived 6 hours late. This caused us problems as we were on bikes and had to cycle to Ghent for our first night. We should have got there with half a day to explore.....as it was we arrived in the rain in the evening.
"My latest trip may 2017"
The trip was not a good experience this time. First there was a fault on the engines which we informed about, which meant we had to return from Rotterdam. That was ok because we had time if the ship docked on the time we were told. Unfortunately the ship docked 2hrs late which meant I couldn't do the arranged meetings and get to Rotterdam. I had to change my sailing dates and sail back a day later on pride of hull. This meant I was out of pocket 1 nights accomadation, and eating expenses, and had to spend extra day in Oostende. We sailed back fri night and docked sat 1 day late. Had we known about extra 2 hours delay we would have rearranged, po new about fault so a text or email could have saved a lot of hassle. On the positive side the staff on the pride of Brugge were fabulous. They helped me out and rearranged my sailing, very friendly. The staff on pride hull efficient, but not as friendly.
"Calm and comfortable"
Coming from Sheffield, we (car of 4) decided to use the Hull-Zeebrugge option for getting to Europe rather than facing the painful drive through (and back) to Dover. It ends up being no more expensive (no overnight break needed somewhere in a chaep hotel in France) and we felt relaxed and ready for the 1,000km drive down to Provence after a comfortable, pleasant, interesting and relaxing night aboard. The evening meal in the a la carte restaurant was very good and reasonable value and the cabins are compact, comfy and cleverly designed - if a bit hot! On returning we only had a 1 3/4hr drive home rather than the endless grind up through the UK's worst traffic. All in all, very recommendable.
"Reasons to be grateful"
Very grateful to P&O for 2 reasons: 1. I arrived very late for the ferry due to technical reasons - about 1 hour after last boarding. Fortunately my sad face and the efforts of the check-in staff permitted me to just squeeze on board before the ship sailed. 2. I left my wedding ring in the cabin. Lost property were very helpful and the ring was returned within days. Slight downer - the fire sprinkler started dripping during the night keeping me awake and making a large puddle on the carpet.
"A smooth, comfortable crossing"
A smooth, comfortable crossing
"Hull - Bruge via Pride of York"
Overall a good experience with comfortable cabin and other facilities. One bad experience was that our Moules Mariniere dish was old and tired ( brown in colour and rubbery, with very little sauce). These were sent back and eventually a fresh dish was served. Our return tip was good and uneventful.
"very unhappy with return journey"
We had a return journey with you booked forSat . 12th November Hull Zeebrugge . We were both too sick to cross that day so I was on line to try and change to the following day . Could not amend or evenlet you know that we would not be sailing that day so got your phone no . and rang . Same thing it told me the opening times but you could not take the call . Tried three times but could not speak to anyone . In the end we had to go to Hull on Sunday and book that day which cost us £235 for one way . I feel disappointed as we always use Direct Ferries . I think you need to look into your after sales service e g phone lines and internet .... Peter Smith
"A pleasure as always."
Really easy to board, to find everything and helpful staff. Not too crowded so able to find a seat where you want, good food facilities and a good night's sleep.
"Hull to Zeebrugge return journey September 2016"
So fortunate on both crossings across North Sea, calm seas with very little wind, made our journey so pleasant. Excellent accommodation even for pensioners! Crew/Staff members inc. Bar and Shop staff gave excellent service and we commend them for their efforts in making our journey a very pleasant experience.
"First time north sea ferries "
Ann and myself arrived at Hull Ferries it was well signed and easy to follow, straight through customs then after a short wait were directed aboard to where we parked, staff were polite and helpful. The cabin was clean and tidy only let down was the mattress was a bit tired a nice smooth crossing. On our way home a different cabin and the mattress was very comfy again the docks area was well signed and easy to find
"Traversee Zeebrugge Hull"
Why did we pay an additional 20 pounds when we booked The price was 179 pounds we were required to tick the box and we were under the impression that it was for a facility like early boarding, free WiFi as we normally received from other companies I feel 20 pounds for fresh air or sea air is a bit expensive. Would recommend to friends but would advise them not to pay the 10 pounds per passenger extra.
"Holiday Trip to France"
We holiday in France every year, normally we drive to Folkestone and stay overnight and then take the car on the Eurotunnel train next morning, this year we though we would try the Hull to Zeebrugge P&O Ferry, as it is only one hour's drive to Hull from York instead of the normal four and half hour's drive to Folkestone. We are glad we made the change as it was brilliant and very relaxing, we boarded the ferry, located our cabin and then booked a table in the restaurant before sitting down in one of the lounges with a drink. After an excellent meal we again relaxed in one of the lounges before turning in for the night, and although the cabins only have bunk beds we found them surprising comfortable, so we both had a good nights sleep. After a good breakfast next morning we disembarked in Zeebrugge and went on our way to France, we are very glad we chose this way to travel and will certainly do this again next year.
"Pity about the small dining room"
The Hull - Rotterdam route is serviced by newer and larger ferries than Hull - Zeebrugge, with faster and easier loading of cars (no queues), larger cabins and public areas. However the dining facilities are cramped and badly laid out, with less choice subsequently. I suspect that to get a decent meal you would have to go ala carte. We far prefer Hull - Zeebrugge, and only sailed to Rotterdam because on our chosen day of travel it was the only one running.
"Trip to euro land"
Brilliant crossing. Brilliant return staff superb entertainment on each crossing exerlent.
"Ferry to Zeebrugge"
The trip to & from Zeebrugge was smooth, the cabins were clean & comfortable, prices on board are reasonable so we arrived relaxed and ready to start our journey. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
"Fantastic Trip"
This is a fantastic ship. The staff and then food in the Brasserie are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. This was our second trip this year we shall be travelling again soon.
"Good sailing"
We had a recent trip to Bruges from Hull. Staff friendly and helpful. We had an inside cabin for the time to our surprise it was much bigger than outside cabins although no window! Breakfast in The Kitchen restaurant has improved greatly from the last time we traveled. Sea was calm and sunny in Bruges. Lots to do and see. Well worth the trip
"Perfect end to our Perfect HOLIDAY"
HAVING SPENT 3 WEEKS TOURING EUROPE ON OUR MOTORCYCLE WE BOARD THE FERRY AT ZEEBRUGGE DESTINATION HULL. THE WEATHER WAS BEAUTIFUL,THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY THE FOOD WAS VERY TASTEY AND A FAIR PRICE WE SLEPT LIKE BABIES IN OUR BUNKS AND AWOKE FOR AN HEARTY BREAKFAST. THANKS P&O FANTASTICO!
"Pleasant trip"
Everything went well.
"P and O Still doing the business !"
Travelled Hull to Zeebrugge and back on the Pride of York/Brugges and lived up to expectations. Ships are the former Hull/Rotterdam models and in some lights the exteriors look a little aged now although interiors have been upgraded. Service up to expectations as was catering.
"good experience"
From arriving at the dock at Hull,it was the start of a very good holiday. The staff were very courteous, nothing was too much trouble for them. Cabins are comfortable and clean. Plenty of choice for food, which was served hot! Able to move around the ferry without being crowded. I have travelled many time's on this route, on my own, but this time I shared it with friends and they really enjoyed it and compared it to the many cruises they have been on and stated it is on par for comfort, food, facilities and the help from the staff.
"Hull - Zeebrugge"
Excellent. Chose the evening meal and breakfast option which proved to be very good. All food was perfectly cooked and unlike many buffets all was as if just cooked for you! very good all round Oh apart from the entertainment, the girl did manage to murder some very good songs, the two guys were OK but the girl put us off any more!
"Great trip, exactly what it says on the tin."
Efficient and friendly staff, great food, comfortable cabin and a smooth crossing as a bonus! Much better than slogging down to Dover any day!
"All Aboard!"
We had a smooth crossing overnight there and back, the staff were helpful when needed, extra bed bars were provided upon request for children. Dinner was nice, but pricey for what it was, still, the snack bar was sufficient if you didn't want dinner. Kids area could do with more in it, it's more like a padded cell than a play room! One point should be that there was no mention when booking that pregnant ladies over 28 weeks are not allowed to sail without a doctors note, by chance we just didn't need one, but a week later and it could have ruined our holiday.
"Another fabulous trip"
What a great start and finish to our short holiday. Although quite a bit smaller than the Hull to Rotterdam ferries, the ferry is clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly. The cabin was small but spotlessly clean with comfy bunks. This time we opted to dine and breakfast on board. The food was of good quality and there was a large variety of different dishes to choose from, plus you can eat as much as you like! The bars and coffee lounge were pleasant places to pass some of the time and we even enjoyed a sunny evening on deck on the way back home.
"Excellent experience"
The ferry terminal was well signposted and easy to find. Ticket collection was swift and once on board collection of cabin keys was simple. Cabin was clean and very comfortable just maybe a little stuffy with 4 people in. Food on board was good quality in the bistro with good choice and excellent service on the outward journey. We opted to take the special offer dinner and breakfast on the return and found the great value and very reasonable quality food and , once again, great service. Only down side was the long wait to get through passport check leaving Hull coming home which took over an hour to get through but this was no fault of the ferry company and more to do with the state of the nation at the moment. Overall excellent.
"Very pleasant trip"
We had a great sailing both to and from Zeebruge-Hull. The cabin was clean and had all you need, the choice of food form the buffet was great the staff exceptionally helpful and friendly.
"Suprisingly good quality dinner. "
Relaxing trip across from Hull to Zeebrugge. Dinner in the restaurant was of unexpectedly high quality. Interesting menu, well presented and tasty.
"Thank you"
It was the first time we had done this trip and were very impressed with the efficiency of all levels of staff , from helping us board, dining room experience and entertainment. My son and his family are stationed in Belgium for two years so we will be using Direct Ferries at least three times a year. We are traveling in August with my 80 year old mother so hope we have as good experience as we did in May. All crew members we came in contact with were pleasant and helpful, and very professional. Looking forward to our next trip. Many thanks
"Good value for money"
Comfortable ship and good food. Excellent welcome and attitude from the ship's company.
"Great Trip"
Wonderful meal in the restaurant, both ways. Entertainment good - cinema, piano player etc. Boat a bit tired in places, but clean. Good range in shop. Standard room very small so upgraded on the way back.
"Helpful staff on board P & O Ferries"
I just want to express my great thanks to the staff on the information desks each way who assisted in changing our cabins to more spacious size as my companion was disabled. It would have been better had we been allocated these rooms when I booked but thankfully we enjoyed very comfortable journeys each way. All the staff on board are friendly and very helpful. Well done to all.
"Recent Trip"
There was 3 of us traveling across to Amsderdam. The start of the journey went abit downhill as there was no signs for the mult-story car park and we drove back into hull and then back to then ask someone, if only we had drove towards the boat we would have seen it (im sure other people have done this too) the ferry was well marked out on board, there was lots of things to do inc the band that was great. we have no other complaints re our journey other than the parking.
"Great alternative"
Normally I use Dover Calias but thought I would try this crossing. A great boat with good food options and a nice comfortable room. Added bonus of a good nights sleep leaves you feeling fresh a ready to drive the next morning.
"happy journey"
Really kind and helpful crew with excellent service from embarkation to disembarkation..!
"Hull to Zeebruge"
Troublefree trip. Boarded at Hull at 4pm so were able to enjoy our meal (food excellent - didn't feel the need to upgrade to the Braserie) in the calm waters of the Humber estuary. Booked Club cabin - which was very comfortable. Very friendly staff and nice relaxed trip - in spite of lively seas. Would recommend.
"Another good trip from Greater Manchester to Northern France"
Used this ferry service many times. Very good once again. Travel via Hull saves a long drive to Dover to go to Belgium or France. Usually off the boat about 9 after a sleep and a satisfying breakfast ready for a new day. Will use again.
"Hull to Zeebrugge"
I use this ferry every April and October. Love it, delicious food in the Brassiere and friendly staff. Cabins clean and just what is needed for overnight. Highly recommend this service for those travelling from Northern England to Europe.
"Great way to Europe from the north of England "
So much more pleasant than travelling down to Dover and a far more relaxing way to start a European Road Trip. wouldn't travel any other way,Premier Class cabins are spot on.
"Trip across the waters "
Recently crossed from Hull to Zeebrugge on The Pride of Bruges. I actually sailed on her 27 years ago when she was brand new. This time I was with my wife and mother-in-law heading to France. This was a fantastic crossing, hardly any movement with the waves. The entertainment was great, as were the bars and coffee shop. Staff in duty free shops were extremely helpful and pleasant. We opted for the breakfast and dinner booking when I booked the trip, you were also given the option on board to pay. The food was really good, lots to chose from with buffet selection which was eat as much as you like, tea, coffee, juices, water all included. Overall a very pleasant trip and I would certainly do it again with P&O, and easy to book through Direct Ferries.
"Bradarie trip to Lille"
Wonderful experience going out on this boat. The facilities cover our needs wonderfully. The staff in the Kitchen Restaurant surpass all expectations.
"Hull to Zeebrugge crossing"
We sailed in August 2015. In comparison with last year's trip (with another ferry company who shall remain nameless!!), we really were in the lap of luxury! The cabins and beds were comfortable, though the bathrooms could have been a little bigger for extra comfort. The restaurant was fairly priced and the food was better than some restaurants we've been to! The waiters and staff in general, we're both friendly and professional and went out of their way to be helpful. There was plenty on the ferry to keep us occupied in our waking hours. In general it was a very pleasant experience and a great way to kick start our holiday. We'll done P and O! We would definitely use you again and recommend you to family and friends.
"vertical impressed "
The staff were very professional and welcoming, the food was very good and you could eat as much as you wanted. Our cabin was clean and tidy. I must say I was very impressed with the crossing from Zeebrugge to Hull.
"Ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge and back."
Always enjoy the ferry experience - flying is now considered a poor 2nd option. The ferry is a major part of the holiday and the overnight travel leaves you refreshed and ready to take on the drive. .
"Excellent ferry crossing"
Ship was lovely and clean as were the cabins, bed linen and beds were comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The whole trip was a positive one and would recommend this crossing to all.
"Relaxed end to the holiday"
Great trip, relaxed atmosphere, food back up to a good standard, and extremely pleasant crew.
"Good Crossing"
Much impressed, especially since I have travelled this route many times, and the cabin had obviously been refurbished, and the meals were up to thier usual high standard.
"Boat trip"
Very pleasant trip. Very professional staff. Catering very good
"Travelling on P&O Ferries between Hull and Zebrugge "
We had a good fun journey on board the ferries. The kids loved the childrens entertainment and the soft play. The facilities on the ferry and great and the staff are all very friendly. Unfortunately our car broke down when we were in France so we had to come back on the ferry as foot passengers and a lot of luggage!! The staff could not have been more helpful with helping us on the boat with our luggage. It is a very enjoyable experience travelling on the ferry and a great way to start and end your holiday.
"Easy peasy start to a holiday"
we had a very easy and chilled start to our holiday this year on the P&0 Hull to Zeebrugge ferry crossing. Calm crossing, good food, a quiet drink in the bar and then a quiet nights sleep. No traffic jams, blockades or queues. We were so lucky and grateful!
"June 2015 coming home from south of france"
Excellent voyage as always.the queues were a bit longer due to the problems in calais but we were loaded quickly, the cabin was spotless and the "kitchen" served very tasty food at a reasonable price, all the staff were helpful as i had no doubt they would be.im off back to france in 4 weeks and its back on the hull/zeebrugge ferry again
"Fantastic Ship, Superb Crossing"
It was the start to our holiday and meant that the driving we would have to do was greatly reduced. When booking I had failed to advise of my mobility problem however this was no problem and I was parked close to a lift. Not being good "sailors" I had booked a Club Class cabin for my son and I and the light, spacious cabin made the crossing so much better for us. The bathroom, and shower were really "big" and I was able to use both comfortably. Coming back the wind was a Force 7, so we knew that it may be rougher than the outward journey, however, for me the crossing was just great, my son did feel a little unwell but was not "ill". The bar, restaurant and shops were very good, the restaurant providing plenty of attentive staff who actually carried my food to the table (in the self-service). For me it was the perfect relaxing way to travel to Europe.
"North Sea Cruise"
A great start and finish to a city break in Brugge.
"good experience"
I always have enjoyed travelling on this route, and look upon it as a mini cruise before and after my trip to Belgium. The staff are most helpful and curtious and always appear to be happy in their work. The ship is always spotless and the staff quick to mop up any spillages. The cabins are comfortable and clean with adequate linen in them. The dinning room is well staffed and the food is always served hot,and every dietary need is catered for.
"MOTO GP Trip"
We travelled home via the ferry from Zeebrugge to Hull after a great weekend at the Le Mans Moto GP. The checking in process was quick and easy and we were quickly on the boat drinking our first beer. The cabin was clean and compact and the shower was nice and warm which made a change from some of the hotel's we had stayed in. We had a meal on the ship which was very good and the service from the very smartly dressed staff was fantastic. Overall, the trip was great value for money and well worth the cost, recommended.
"Very pleasant."
Enjoyed a great ferry service both ways. Good food, courteous staff and a well run trip.
"I travelled between Zeebrugge and Hull with P&O Ferries on the Pride of Bruges"
Very pleased with the trip and services your company.
"Hull to Zeebrugge service"
Excellent service, well kept accommodation and courteus helpfull staff. Would have no hesitation with using it again or recommending it to friends
"Our favourite crossing"
Once again we travelled to France and back via the Hull-Zeebrugge/Zeebrugge-Hull ferries. Accommodation in Club Class is very comfortable and always gets our holiday off to a good start. The staff on board are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Generally the food is good and there are some excellent wines to choose from. We have travelled once or twice a year using this route for the last 4 years and wouldn't use another crossing now.
"Hull to Zebrugge"
Very good service. Everyone was very helpful and the services across the board were very good. The staff were very accommodating when we were late arriving at the ferry at Zebrugge.
"a pleasant journey"
We enjoyed travelling with P&O. The cabins were clean and well-attended and the bed linen and towels were impeccable. The personnel was very friendly and helpful and the food was nice. Maybe the thing that could have been better were the prices at the bar.;)
"A good trip in difficult conditions"
Despite the sea conditions, the staff were really great; knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and efficient. Cabin was good. Food excellent.
"Great Trip"
First time on this service - really good. Very efficient parking & well organised helpful men with our car which has low ground clearance due to valence. Very polite & friendly staff on board itself. Decent food and prices are OK. Nothing too expensive overall. Enjoyed the casino table too. Cabin was great - really comfy bed and everything very clean and worked. No negatives at all. Would have been nice to have seen the control deck out of interest. Definitely use again.
"Great!"
no problem, it was good!
"Zee urge to hull ferry"
As I am a regular traveller between Hull and Rotterdam with P&O it made a pleasant change to travel on this ferry. I thought the sitting areas were light, airy and numerous and although the menu in The Kitchen was the same the food was much better and certainly had more choice. Although it would be nice if mass produced cooked vegetables could taste better. Altogether a much lighter and brighter ship.

"A life on the ocean waves"
This is the first time I have crossed the channel by over-night ferry, having previously used the Channel Tunnel. Living in the North East, this was a great way to travel. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the cabin was actually larger than I had imagined from the photograph. Plenty of restaurants and bars and an excellent Duty Free shop. It was wonderful to wake up to a very good breakfast and to have a relatively short drive home. I will certainly travel this route again.
"A convenient connection"
After completing a bike & barge ferry trip in Brugge, the bus stop for the Zeebrugge port was very close. The Bus departed at 17:30 and arrived on time at the appropriate stop at the Port. We were spoilt for choice at dinner. The cabin was comfortable, the shower relaxing and I appreciated the window view. Breakfast was very generous. The bus trip to York was pleasant and arrived at the rail station. The only point of improvement would be: Advise that entry cards are required for non-EU passport holders and slightly cheaper drinks.
"Trip to Bruges!"
Good trip,no problems at all.staff hospitable and facilities on ship OK. Did not really enjoy food in restaurant.Feel the standard has dropped and although edible was not much better than heated up canteen food(not a problem when you are paying less for it). Would use again but would not have the meals!
"Congratulations!"
I have been taking a ferry (P&O) to Hull or Dover since the 80's, both privately as for work. I have even been part of the rescue of survivors of the Herald on March 6, 1987 as navigator on the Sea-King helicopter. Never do I have any remarks about the facilities, catering, tidyness, staff and punctuality. A true accomplishment by P&O! Congratulations.
"po crossing"
Friendly staff, comfortable crossing. Will repeat trip.
"2 very good crossings"
Our party of four travelled during the week when both ships were quiet. They are well appointed and comfortable and we were able to book tables for meals in the restaurant which added to the comfort. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Cabins were clean and well equipped for the short overnight crossings. However, one minor complaint is that shower gel was not provided in the dispenser in the shower! All-in-all a very pleasant experience but I would have to qualify that by saying I wonder if the same would still apply when the ships are full?
"May crossings"
the crew of the pride of York was friendlier than the staff from the pride of bruges. The cabins are very nice. However, the drinks on board are very expensive.
"Ferry to hull"
Good crossing. Comfortable cabin. Would travel again with Direct Ferries, this was our first time, Booking in very smooth. Good directions to port.
"Very OK"
Everything was well organised. Compliments to the crew!
"Every year "
In the last 7 years we have driven at least 2 times on these two ferries. We are always happy to take this voyage to Hull, for the interruption of the long journey to Scotland is always very relaxing. However, both ships are but a little older , that everything works, but at some point you should consider a pair of new ferries a afflict. on the Pride of Brüges was the food this time not as good as before. Here is an improvement probably necessary. Otherwise, we look forward to the next time.
"Excellent service"
Very excellent service all around. Punctuality and on time if promised. Went with the whole family and had a good time. Thanks.
"Hull lto Zeebrugge ferry"
Once again, fab trip. Boarding went like clockwork, dinner and breakfast delicious. Cabin spotless. I shall be back on board in October.
"A pleasant crossing"
Everything was very good. We'll be back!
"A FOGGY TIME"
Staff were very pleasant and as we might expect with P&O Very courteous. The crossing was very smooth even with the foggy conditions and delay in docking. I suppose my only thought May be the 'extras' offered by P&O due to the delay in arrival and docking in Hull. Consideration might be given to a more complete supply of coffee (plus) items delayed outside the norm on board the ship , beyond the arrival time. Overall a satisfying experience. Thank you.
"A excellent mean of transport"
It's our second crossing (a third is already planned for June). We think that it's a pleasant and restful way to go the North of Great Britain from Paris
"Hull to zeebrugge "
Another great trip. We had a bigger cabin. Quick embarkation which is unusual but that is not P&O's fault. The only complaint I have was the terrible draught lager. It was revolting. We tried all three bars but it was awful so had to buy a bottle of wine. Will stick to coffee next time.
"Completely satisfied "
Ship was on time, very friendly staff, cabin clean and comfortable, food very good.
"Nice"
Everything was nice and tidy. Beds are comfortable. Clean bathroom and space for luggage. OK! Next time I will choose P&O ferries again.
"Totally dirty window "
Since we had rebooked on the ship to a larger cabin with outside window (50, - € on top), we found it a great pity that the window was then so dirty (remains of excessive consumption of alcohol or bird droppings?) That you can not without nausea could see out. Otherwise all good!
"a return journey to visit my son in Harrogate"
The boat is a good way to start the holidays. Your boats are confortable, the staff is pleasant. The pianist at the bar is nice. The only problem that the radiator started working in the middle of the night and heating the cabin too much. I would use your company again. It's well organised, except to take a dog (not possible) and the return from Zeebruge was not possible. We came back through Rotterdam.

"To Zeebrugge and back for the first time but not the last "
Four of us travelled for the first time on P&O ferries from Hull to Zeebrugge and back taking in the sights of Bruges.I can only say that the ferry was superb so much less hassle than flying, good quality food, friendly crew and the minute you get on board you can relax. We were on board on Friday the 27 December when the high winds were pounding but you wouldn,t know. My wife was worried that she would not like the movement of the ship, in reality she hardly noticed it. So pleased with the trip we are looking to book to go to Amsterdam in March/April. Direct Ferries dealt with my booking and I can highly recommend them and their staff much less bother than anything else I have tried for a break.
"Zeebugge to Hull"
It is a shame that P&O not offer the same Club Class lounge services as DFDS as this makes travelling with DFDS superior to P&O, and I only use P&O because DFDS does not travel to Hull. I would recommend P&O to friends who need to land in Hull.
"Hunt in Scotland"
Excellent, very good job
"zeebrugge - hull"
Very pleasant passages. Timetable held in respect. Very friendly staff.
"November crossing"
Fantastic crossing from Zeebrugge to Hull. We'd driven from San Remo, Italy, through France in bad weather and then boarded in a gale. Really enjoyed the buffet evening meal, attentive waiters and staff and the same at breakfast. The sleep despite rough weather was undisturbed and only slightly Cabin was clean and functional, and the shower lovely and hot. I live in Italy and over the years have used Dover Calais, but the drive from Dover to Manchester has always proved tiring. This is the first time I have sailed to Hull, but looks like I will be choosing this route from now on.
"A passenger opinion"
Very satisfying
"perfect "
super ship, nice bunk (on the return trip even with windows although not posted), nice crew, no stress during loading of the cars or the camper. Gladly again.
"the impressions of a journey"
We live in Normandy and we have to go to Scotland regularly as we have family links there. We often use this line which takes us to Northern England and shorten the driving time in the UK. Despite the distance between Normandie and Zeebruge, we prefer using this line, because we can relax on the boat (York and Bruges are both confortable), take our time and start the 300 miles of driving rested. The food is good, the staff is attentive and the boarding is quick.
"Sailing"
After 4 days driving through Europe it was a relief to be able to have arrest from driving and let the ferry take the strain! Everything ran efficiently, the cabin was clean warm and comfortable, the staff very helpful and there was plenty of choice in the restaurants. We will definitely use the ferry again.
"A good experience"
A good experience for a first ferry crossing despite the storm.
"Club is well worth the extra"
Very enjoyable way to get home to Brussels from the North-east after visiting family. Extremely helpful and cheerful staff all round. Paying a little extra for a Club room is well worth the investment.
"I love cruises"
Beautiful evenings and nights aboard the Pride of Bruges. Like a little cruise!
"Except for the duty-free shops, everything was very good! "
We liked it very well. It was amazing how well the embarkation was organized. The food at the buffet was worth the money in any case. My daughter and I would book the ferry again and again. Compliment to the Company. (I mean really)
"Confortable and punctual"
Quick boarding with our car right after the check-in process A confortable 5 people cabin Punctual A good follow-up of orders and payment online A nice buffet breakfast. We enjoyed this return crossing from Brugges to Hull with P&O ferries.
"P&O Ferries"
The crossing was very pleasant, the staff was nice and competent, the activities on board were well organised. The cabins are confortable, but a little bit small
"Mini cruise to Belgium"
The mini cruise was very enjoyable everyone in our group said it was great. the cabin we were allocated was really fantastic plenty of room for everyone.
"crossing "
The trip was quiet and beautiful. Good service on board. Good food, good Guinness ... I will certainly come back again.
"Hull Zeebrugge Ferry return trip"
Excellent service with very good catering giving good value for money and courteous helpful Filipino staff. Rooms clean and tidy and even the smaller berth on the return journey, although considerably smaller, met our needs. Two suggestions to improve service. 1 Can football supporters or other large groups (in our case Belgian, having beaten Scotland) please be asked to observe quiteness in or very near sleeping corridors after 10pm and not allowed to continue to approx 3am 2. Provision of a taxi service at Zeebrugge terminal, there is none although on request a local taxi came and delivered us to the nearest tram stop (and we arranged to bring us back after our visit to Coxyde Military Cemetery) whereas several taxis were waiting at Hull terminal.
"perfect trip "
Easy booking, easy checkin, clean accommodation
"Competent and flexible "
Arrived 2 hours early. Could book on Earlier boat. Arrival on time. Food in restaurant not attractive.
"satisfied "
Zeebrugge - Hull and back were an experience, clean cabins.
"Journey Zeebrugge-Hull (August 2013)"
We had a very good experience. The cabins were clean and well presented for one night, (bunk bed for two). The toilet was clean. The member of the staff was so helpful, the only negative aspect was the prices of the food at the restaurant - too expensive.
"a good crossing"
A good crossing. Nothing to report.
"Great!!!"
A very good crossing, a very professional staff who is ready to help and make the journey pleasant. An appropriate material for the bikes. Thanks again.
"a good crossing"
A remarquable crossing with an attentive staff
"Hull-Zeebrugge"
Fantastic stay on the boat over night lovely staff cant wait for another trip with direct ferries and P&O.
"a mini cruise"
An experience I would recommend. A pleasant journey in good conditions especially as a family a night stroll on the decks the quality of the catering was slightly lower than during the previous journey. Bye and see another time maybe
"Nice, first experience"
It was our first time we slept on the ferry to go to Belgium. Normally we take the ferry from Dover to Calais. We found this a much better experience as we didn't had to drive so many hours with the kids in the car. The children entertainment was good and kept them busy for a while so we as parents could relax a little. Only for that reason we probably will take this ferry again. The staff was very friendly , helpful and kind on both ways of travelling. The only thing we didn't like was the expensive dinner. It was a lovely buffet though, but on the way back we had dinner in advance, only because it is too expensive on the ferry. Especially when you have 3 kids as well . Many thanks,
"holidays start "
It was a very relaxed crossing. All on the ship were very friendly and helpful. The sea was calm. The beds were excellent. The leave may begin.
"Hull shocker"
Ferry was excellent, good entertainment for the kids and adults alike. The food on board was good although there was a bit of a queue to get seated. We were off the ship and travelling through Belgium within 20 minutes on our journey out. The return journey was a different story. We were forced to queue for 1 hour 15 minutes at the Hull terminal on our return journey. Only 3 passport control officers who checked everything at a pedestrian pace and no vehicle control so even though the motorbikes came of the ferry towards the rear, they raced past all the waiting cars and bullied there way to the front. This spoilt the overall experience, if they can manage this process efficiently and quickly in Zebrugge why can't they in Hull.
"zeebruge hull"
Great ferry trip good on board service. The only downside is the Border Agengy who on arrival in Hull are their usual shambles. It takes at least an hour to process all the cars etc mainly due to the fact that they cant seem to open all four lanes in time for the ferry to arrive. Happens every year. Need to raise their game.
"To be improved"
Instructions delivered through a speaker. -the important instructions are only delivered in English and the French translation is often drowned in commercial informations about the duty free, the shop, the restaurant, etc. -they should be clear and understandable, especially when explaining how to get to the vehicles -German and French should be used on the electronic display near the information point.
"Excellent"
The trip went well. The staff is very polite and pleasant. We arrived on time in HULL. We'll use this company again.
"Review"
As a regular user of the ferry, I am satisfied with the services offered by your company. However, I regret the lack of the French language on board. It's a shame, because you cannot communicate with the staff, which is very helpful otherwise.
"Very nice"
It's a good holiday experience. The cabin (2 bunk beds) is confortable as is the small bathroom. The boat is clean and well maintained. I enjoyed the different restaurants/bars with the different atmospheres.
"Great trip!"
As a family, we have always looked forward to the ferry over to Zeebrugge: it felt as though our holiday had started the moment the car was parked up, and the facilities on board are fantastic. This latest trip, I travelled alone, and still felt a little excited to be back on the water.
"No discussion with P&O"
I arrived at the P&O counter about one hour before departure, because a problem with my motorbike. The woman at the counter looked at her computer and told me very abruptly: "Five minutes late, circulez!". She wouldn't hear anything. I can understand that boarding a trailer is difficult, but a motorbike? I've done several trips in Ferry to Grece, Morrocco, Corsica, Denmark, Estonia, etc... With several late boarding, there never had been any problem. At the end, I went to France through the tunnel and drove an extra 400 km. The tunnel is way less expensive and I never want to hear about P&O ferries.
"A very good crossing"
A very good trip, a nice crossing and an excellent reception
"Hassle free"
Excellent hassle free - perfect end to the holiday.
"Our first experience of Hull to Zebrugge ferry"
A great experience, a very relaxing start to our holiday - touring Europe in a campervan. We would definitely do this again and recommend you try it!
"A very good overall impression"
A functional and well organised boat, the staff is available and affable, the meals are tasty and varied, the buffets are good. One drawback is that the prices at the bar are really expensive. The cocktails are overpriced and not very good. We didn't test the casino or the cinema. The prices in the shops didn't seem interesting. The cabins are small, clean, functional and fairly quiet. However, it's better to have a window in your cabin if you suffer from claustrophobia.
"P+O Ferries Hull-Zebrugge"
The ship was very well run, every where clean and tidy the cabins though small where comfy the only complaint we have is the cost of the food, it is to expensive, we paid £7 for two pasties which were rock solid, so to conclude good ferry spoiled by overpriced food.
"Have a good trip! "
This type of trip to UK I would repeat anytime!
"Best way to travel."
As we live in Scotland this ferry saves us the long, busy and tortuous journey to the south coast of England. We use the Hull Zeebrugge ferry on a regular basis and enjoy our time on board. We book a club class cabin for extra space and the kettle and TV are useful too. We eat in the restaurant as opposed to The Kitchen and the food is excellent ( particularly the steaks!). These ships are very stable even in poor conditions and really we can't fault the journey provided.
"Review P & O "
Overall very satisfied
"dissatisfied "
The ship (Pride of Bruge) was old At least that was the explanation of the receptionists, as I pointed out to him that the ventilation blazes only ice cold air in our cabin, but he could - at least partly - help:.. He gave me a new set of towels and told me that I should thus stop up the vent. way they would have done it earlier on the old fishing boats ... I should just watch the ventilation that's not tear down. This has reasonably functioning. And the receptionist was very friendly. On the contrary, to the restaurant staff, which was ultimately a joke. At first we thought maybe it was up to us until we saw explode our two neighbors. Ordered food and drinks came only after repeated requests, the bill came not at all (I had to ask at the counter right after that), where, however, the guest before me still had a lengthy discussion because of an incorrect invoice amount. And that in a board bistro where you " forced " is to order at least two courses. That you had to, because another option to get a hot meal on board, there was not. However, one must say that the food was really excellent. Then we went to the board cinema. Here, the tone of the film has so much with the hit of the show stage of the bar that you had to listen partially very closely in order to understand everything. When we first went on board, we were outside enjoying a bit of the good weather. However, there was on the whole " sun deck " maybe eight banks, which most people sat on the floor. After a short time we moved it before but at a table to move in the interior of the ship, where a crisis liges TV picture trying to show the messages. I would say with some certainty that this was the worst ferry that I've ever had.
"Trip to Le Mans"
We have used this service a few times now, and always find the the crew the food and entertainment good. This trip was even better I upgraded to Club class and it was a really nice upgrade. The food on this trip was excellent, my wife who is quite fussy about food commented how good it was. I would recommend the crossing to anyone.
"P & O Ferries "
The Belgian side (imigration) was late, rude and very unhospitable. So the disembarking in Belgium Took way longer than in England. The English Authorities were working very quick, correct, Organised and very polite.
"Ferry experience, Hull to Zeebrugge"
I was most pleased with my quite spacious cabin, with a comfortable bed, lounge seat and good functional shower/bathroom. The amenities on board were good and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was easy to access the vessel, and it was a very quick and easy exit at the finish of the cruise at Zeebrugge. I would certainly like to take another trip in the future.
"Hull - Zeebrugge May 2013"
Really enjoyed the trip on this ferry. Easy to board, on time and very friendly crew on all areas of the boat. Particular thanks to the team on the casino who were fun and friendly. Enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant. Highly recommend this service.
"Very good service"
Clean rooms, friendly staff, well equipped boat. Only downside: only some things are translated into French.
"Good experience"
First time on this crossing. Good service all round, and hassle-free loading and unloading. Food on board excellent, with friendly and attentive service. Almost as good as a cruise!
"First time users of this sailing"
Smaller than the Hull to Rotterdam ferry however this was not a bad thing. We could not hear any of the messages given out publicly when we were in our cabins, so anything of importance was missed. Even when we were sat in the main lounge areas many of the announcements were very muffled and we could not understand what was being said (and many sat around us) especially when announcing the disembarkation. The air conditioning in the cabin was not adequate as it was constantly hot in there no matter how cold we set it. The main restaurant forces you to have two courses otherwise you cannot eat in there. If a person was allowed to have a main course only they would have more customers in there, as it was mostly empty. Many people do not need or want to be force fed food and the other alternative was the 'eat all you can buffet' or cakes pastries and sandwiches. Having a dietary requirement means there is only so much food my wife can eat in one sitting and one course is more than enough for her.
"a trip in april 2013"
Nice and relaxing trip. Efficient and caring staff, very decent food. We enjoyed it and would do it again! The only drawback is a lack of communication. We discovered too late that we could have purchased ou meal and our breakfast in advance for a better price than as we went alone. We could even have used a child deal. Moreover, we couldn't find the shuttle at Bruges station for the Zeebruges boarding, the taxi costed us 50 €.... Our calls to enquire how to get to the port were unsuccessful and we ended up looking for a shuttle without ever finding it! On the way back, we still didn't know why the other car passengers had their connection included on their boarding pass, whereaa I had to go back to buy the tickets (24€ for 3). Maybe there is an all-included formula? I think information access should be better for new passengers!
"Crossing Zeebrugge to Hull"
The ship is a bit long in the tooth, which are i particularly noticed in the cabins. For the next trip we will probably go back from Rotterdam, as the ships were better on our last trip.
"Hull zeebrugge crossing"
If you checked the passagers list, you would have noticed that I wasn't on it. On the way back, the reception, apart from the person in charge of the cabin keys and one barman, was very disapointing. I thought breakfast was included in the price (it was not offered separately when I booked online). I am very disapointed
"I recommend it!"
Beautiful experience reaching Hull by boat… A real cruise effect! Very good general impression. Nothing like it to start a trip to the UK or Scotland.
"The Club Class Secret"
We have travelled Zebrugge/Hull with P&O several times over the last four years. When we were a family of four, we generally just stayed in an outside 4-berth cabin (with a window), which was fine, but rather small. Now that we are a family of five, we try to get a Club Class Five Berth (I believe there are also five-berths without the Club Class trimmings, but we've never tried those). Let me start by saying that this is quite a lot more expensive. BUT - You get a lot more space. A bigger bathroom, with nice toiletries, and the thickest bath towels I've ever seen! You get a kettle and stuff for making a hot drink, and a mini-bar well stocked with fruit juices and soft drinks. Oh, and a fruit bowl with two apples and two oranges (a bit disappointing in a way- you'd think once piece of fruit per person might be more sensible?)- but it's the only time my kids eat oranges! Five good-sized beds (one flips from a sofa, which is a good place to sit and watch a bit of TV after the kids have gone to sleep. Oh, and there are now bath robes- but only two- I guess they're catering to families, and the robes are meant for the grown-ups (so we had to wait until the children had stopped playing "Mulan" in them!!). But listen- this is all a secret, right? Because the one problem that I have noticed about these cabins is that they go fast! If we're travelling in April, but after Easter (as we were this time), we had no problem getting Club Class both ways- but at busy times (i.e. in the summer- school summer holidays), it's NOT so easy. So don't go telling everyone about them! We want the chance to get them whenever we travel! The rest of the ship- good. We always go to the Four Seasons (now called "The Kitchen"- why? "We're going to eat in the kitchen" sounds like something you do if you're not allowed to go into the restaurant!), which is just great for kids to get up and walk about, and choose their own food. And now soft drinks are part of the buffet, so only alcohol to be ordered to the table. And the children's' play area is great but I wish they'd have a few more tables for Mums and Dads outside it- I'd happily sit for hours watching the kids play in there if I could sit down with a drink, too! Staff all scrupulously polite and helpful. Some parts of the ship are showing their age, a bit curled round the edges but everything was clean and well kept.
"Great Value for Money"
Recently sailed overnight to Zeebrugge, stayed one night in Bruges and then sailed back the following night. Good value for money, the boats both clean, comfortable and with friendly staff. Shame about the force 9 gale!
"Bruges or Bust"
Travelled many times to France, Belgium and Holland.Kids love the travel and we all consider it part of the holiday now.Re-structured pricing means Langan's as cheap as Four Seasons now which is good value. Go for Club cabin if you want double bed, a graet way to travel. Also taken mini-cruise to Bruges in Dec and 2for1 made it great value break for two and less than a night at a B&B!
