Renting a scooter, quad or a car is a great way to explore Mykonos. It means you don't need to rely on the island's public transport and you can explore more of the island. You'll find plenty of rental services in and around the town.
There are two ports in Mykonos. The New Port, which is the main ferry port, is located in Tourlos around 2km north of Mykonos Town. The port serves high-speed and local ferries to both the Cyclades and mainland Greece. The Old Port is located in Mykonos Town and tends to be used for small boats and private yachts.

You can explore the town on foot. If you want to venture further, there’s also a good bus service connecting various parts of the town and beyond. The island is big, so we'd recommend renting a car or scooter to explore it fully.
There are two ports in Chios; Mesta which is located in the west and Chora which is located on the eastern side of the island. Chora is the main port, connecting the island with destinations such as Athens, Thessaloniki and Cesme in Turkey. Meanwhile, Mesta port serves ferries to Piraeus and other nearby islands.
The port of Chora is located near the centre of the capital of Chora whilst the port of Mesta is located about 3km from the town of Mesta. You can reach either port by car, scooter or bus.
