The Danish city of Helsingor is located in the Helsingor municipality on the north east coast of the island of Zealand, in the east of Denmark. It is the closest city in Denmark to Sweden, with the Swedish city of Helsingborg just 4 km away. Castle Kronborg is known the world over as the place William Shakespeare's play Hamlet is set. The city, which is situated in the middle of Northern Europe's riviera close to Grib Forest, also has a number of beaches close by such as Hornbaek and Gilleleje.
The National Museum of Science and Technology is a popular visitor attraction in the city and contains demonstrations in the advancement of science, technology and industry. Also in the museum, which is in the south of Helsingor, there is a large collection of steam engines, bicycles, motorcycles and antique cars along with a display of the developments made in aviation.
