  • "Service unexpectedly canceled"

    The actual service on this ferry was lovely. The facilities are great. But, it would be nice if the website had been clearer about the possibility of the weather causing cancelations. There was no storm, but we were stuck in Tangier overnight at the last minute, causing extra cost and stress. It would have been nice to have been aware of the possibility so that we could book a place to stay just in case.

  • "Good service, but problems with cancellations"

    The cruise from Tarifa, Spain, to Tangier, Morocco, was nice and I would recommend it, we had just one problem: due to the windy weather the FRS company cancelled all ferries on the day of our travel (we had ticket for 9 a.m., they cancelled all ferries at around 7.30 a.m.). Because there was no ferry from Tarifa to Tangier, we took the local bus to Algeciras - we tried to take a ferry from there to Tangier Med. But when we arrived to Algeciras (30 minutes by bus) we were told that they opened again some ferries from Tarifa. So we had to take the bus back to Tarifa and then at 11 a.m. we were finally on the cruise to Tangier. It would be much better not to cancel all ferries in the morning. I called the company in the morning (after they cancelled all ferries on that day) and they didn't want to say anything - is it better to go to Algeciras (ferries from there were not cancelled) or what to do. They said they are waiting on the instructions of the captain. But - my opinion - if there were chances that the ferry will drive (and at the end some of them were not cancelled), then they shouldn't cancel all of them and after open them again. They just confuse people who have plans. And I was travelling alone with 2 children - it was really not pleasant. But at the end I can say, that the journey is charming, you can look Spain and Morocco at the same time, the boat was quiuck, good organized ... Would recommend it - just be aware that the wind in Tarifa is strong many times and cancellations of the ferries seem like normal.

  • "All good appart from one thing"

    The General facilities, quality of catering, ship cleanliness, staff competence and ship punctuality were fine for a journey taking all of one hour. However there was a young man wearing an FRS jacket at the Morrocon side that came across to carry our bags and put them on a trolley and ushered us in to a lift before requesting a tip. However we had not asked him to carry our bags, nor put them on a trolley, nor usher us in to a lift, so he was asking for a tip for a service we did not want, and he should have first asked us if we required our bags carrying, instead of just grabbing them. We were met with the exact same helper upon return to the port for the return journey, and he came running to the car as we pulled in to the car park and began ushering us to the front door of the port entrance before we could even get our luggage out of the boot, and then requested a tip. Upon giving him his "tip" we had to walk back to the car to get our luggage, and then upon walking back to the spot he had previously ushered us, we found out it was the wrong place, so had to walk back over the car park to the FRS office at the otherside of the car park for our tickets. I suspect that this was just a begger that does not even work for FRS and has just been clever enough to obtain an FRS jacket that pretends to work for FRS.
