Bintan Island is part of the Riau archipelago in Indonesia, situated to the southeast of Singapore. Boasting luxury resorts, exquisite beaches and beautiful gardens, Bintan is one of Indonesia’s more upmarket holiday islands and is widely regarded as the country’s most popular tourist destination, after Bali. Most of the hotels can be found in the Lagoi region to the north, which is also where two of the island’s ports are located. Tanjung Pinang sits on the southwest coast and, like all ports on Bintan, provides numerous daily crossings to Singapore. With some ferry journeys lasting just under an hour, it’s never been easier to jump across the Strait of Singapore to one of South East Asia’s most popular countries.
