European Seaways
European Seaways is a Greek shipping company based in Athens, connecting southern Italy with numerous ports in Albania and western Greece, including the Ionian Islands.
1990 saw the introduction of year-round routes between Italy and Greece, with the company expanding its routes and purchasing bigger vessels over the subsequent decades to meet the growing demands of the market. The European Seaways timetable now includes sailings from Brindisi, Italy, to the Greek islands Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Corfu, as well as the popular route across the Adriatic Sea to Albania.
After many structural changes to the fleet over the years, European Seaways now operates two large ferries named F/B Bridge and F/B Galaxy. Both ships can hold roughly one thousand passengers with a few hundred vehicles, reaching speeds of up to nineteen knots. The on-board facilities include contemporary cabins with wooden furnishings, multiple lounges with flat screen televisions and well-equipped children’s play areas.
