Chania is located in the north western side of the island of Crete. The ferry port in Chania is in Souda (about 6km away) and is used to connect the island with Piraeus on the mainland. Chania port is around 150km from the main port in Crete in the larger city of Heraklion which features more frequent connections to the mainland and is served by more ferry operators.
