"Easy to book + easy to travel!"
A very simple journey - supposed to have face masks - the only place in Greece that asked for them!
"Proteus, Volos/Skiathos return, supposedly"
I have no problems with the Proteus, in fact was proud to sail on a boat with its history. But I had a return trip booked and the return leg was cancelled at short notice with no reason given. To be fair , Direct Ferries gave me some of the fair back, but I then had to scramble round to book another return ferry, at short notice, and that cost me over £30. So I am about £25 out of pocket through no fault of my own
"Poor comms"
We didn’t get any email or text for our return ferry in Greece so couldn’t check in or know about the delayed service. It wasted precious time on holiday. Ferry staff were friendly. Ferry itself was quite old.
"Bad experiance"
Ship was late for more that an hour! Stuff is nervous and not pleasant.
"VERY DISAPPOINTING"
I booked and paid for a ferry trip from Mantoudi to Skiathos. A few days before the planned trip, I received a text message saying the trip was cancelled - no explanation, or suggestion for alternative routing. I called the Anes Ferry Office, but there was no reply. I called the Head Office, and the lady there insisted that the trip was not cancelled. I eventually went to the Anes Kiosk at Piraeus, and the man behind the counter also insisted that the trip was not cancelled, and he printed the tickets for me. Only when I repeated several times my concerns, and after he became quite angry with me, did he then bother to make a few calls and check his computer. He then agreed with me that the trip was cancelled. He had no suggestions about an alternative way for me to get to Skiathos, where I had booked and paid for accommodation for my family vacation. I eventually worked out for myself that I should drive further north to Konstantinos to catch the ferry from there to Skiathos. I paid extra for my new tickets.
"Shambles "
This ferry was an absolute nightmare. The one we originally booked was cancelled and then we were placed on one 3 hours later which then departed 45 minutes late, causing us to have to rush for our flight. We took a car on the ferry which was also a horrendous experience. It was so disorganised and stressful. Some people were driving on, some reversing and everyone trying to leave off the ferry at the same time was a nightmare. Staff were not helpful at organising this either. I would never ever take a car on one of these ferries again.
